Thank you @FlapJackered. My chemical pregnancies gave me such an early BFP that it's hard to consider other possibilities!

ValidUser · 16/11/2019 13:45

AF got me! Think I'm on cycle 18 now.

starkid · 16/11/2019 14:08

:( sorry to hear @ValidUser

I haven't got a clue if/when I ovulated, but am CD22 so just waiting around for the next week...

Mrs71 · 16/11/2019 14:23

Sorry to hear that @ValidUser I know the disappointment too well.

@starkid CD23 for me today. I've started to get that periody feeling already. I'll be waiting around with you this week! I'm tempted to do a frer tomorrow though I don't even know why pretty much know it will be bfn most likely.

@ValidUser So sorry af has turned up. X

@Broodyaf how is everything going lovely?

Broodyaf · 16/11/2019 15:14

Hey all.
So I've been through my whole IVF!
We were over in Czech Republic for a week - can home last nite.
Long story short my follicles were slow to grow but they collected 15 eggs yesterday morning! 13 of them were mature and this morning's update is that 11 of them are fertilised!!! Which is absolutely fantastic numbers for this stage!
I don't get another update until Monday.
We're doing a freeze-all due to my lining being too thin. But we're hoping to go back over mid December for a frozen embryo transfer xx

ValidUser · 16/11/2019 15:41

Thanks @FlapJackered @Mrs71 @starkid. X

@Broodyaf that's amazing!

Maisy24 · 17/11/2019 09:41

@Broodyaf wow fantastic news!!! That sounds so positive 😁 How thin is your lining? How will they thicken it up? I worry I have thin lining so any advice you get would be good xxxx

PineappleC · 17/11/2019 13:13

@Broodyaf wow that sounds like it couldn't have gone much better 're egg retrieval!! Hope they can do something about your lining asap

@ValidUser sorry to hear about AF xx

I think AF is coming early for me this month. Had spotting yesterday at 6dpo (cd19)...wtf. 😢 I feel annoyed and tired too, so definitely AF 😅 Re IVF, our hiv/hep tests have been done now so we should have an "eligibility assessment" within 4 weeks, then assuming that's fine, we will get to start!! So possibly will be joining those of you who are aiming for Jan IVF 🤞

ValidUser · 17/11/2019 13:16

Thanks @PineappleC. I also eat lots of pineapple core.

We're doing 3 more medicated cycles, then IVF. Bit of weight to lose (gained while on hormone injections) and should be good to go.

Lina365 · 18/11/2019 08:46

@Broodyaf That's an amazing result! Congratulations!

I have a question for you ladies about smoking. Do your partners smoke? Mine doesn't usually, but when we're visiting friends for a weekend he always smokes when other people offer him cigarettes. I've told him this upsets me. I know it's only very occasionally that this happens but now that we're doing iui in this cycle and his sperm isn't the best quality, don't I have the right to ask that he makes an effort? What if one night of smoking reduces our chances even by a little? What if the IUI doesn't work and I start to resent him for not saying no to cigarettes, even if it was just a symbolic gesture to support me?

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 09:45

@Lina365 hi Lina; you have every right to ask him to not smoke, I always say that if we get pregnant then we have to cut everything out for 9 months. He should be able to not smoke for one weekend. Have a chat with him and try not to be pushy just explain you don't want it to ruin any chance you have.

But on the medical side I'm sure it takes sperm 3 months to regenerate, so if he smoked now it will effect sperm in around 3 months time; so don't get too stressed if he does have one! Xxxxx

RosettaR · 18/11/2019 11:04

@Broodyaf that's such good news!

@Lina365 yes I think you have a right to ask him not to smoke for a couple of months, if it's only occasional anyway it shouldn't be a big deal for him.

So I am going the private route for polyp removal, operation scheduled in a couple of weeks. I was told it would be 4-5 months on the nhs. I am starting to feel bad about all the money I'm throwing at this, and it also makes me angry that there is such a huge difference between what you get on the nhs and what you get if you pay.

@PineappleC fingers crossed for January ivf for us both!

starkid · 18/11/2019 11:24

@Lina365 - he should definitely make the effort to not socially smoke at the moment

@RosettaR - that's great, yes it's a shame there's such a time difference between nhs and private, good that you are able to go the private route xx

So my DH and I had 3 tests done recently, booked through our gynaecology consultant. They said they'd then forward to the local infertility clinic to go from there.
The last test was DH's SA 3 weeks ago, the HSG and progesterone 21 day test a month ago. My doctors won't tell me anything as they were arranged by the hospital not GP. Do you think I ought to call the consultant to see when I ought to at least expect an appointment letter through? It's so frustrating waiting so long for any of the 3 results!

RosettaR · 18/11/2019 13:55

@starkid yes I would think you could ring the consultant's secretary and ask for a copy of the results. I think they have to give you this if you ask, and if they arranged the tests I would think the results should have gone to them.

You could also chase up the referral if it's been more than a couple of weeks since you were referred. I'd contact whoever referred you and let them know you've not heard anything. My GP always say to let them know if I've not heard about a referral within a couple of weeks. They can them chase the fertility clinic for you.

starkid · 18/11/2019 14:38

@RosettaR - thanks, I rang and they're going to get back to me once the consultant is back in the office later in the week :) least will know either way rather than waiting for the referral to come through

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 17:40

Ahh god I am really struggling today 😞😞 another person announced their safe arrival of baby girl, I don't even feel like I'm happy for them just jealous and resentful of a reminder of what I don't have. Can't say this anywhere else. Really feeling like crap 👎👎👎

starkid · 18/11/2019 19:18

@queenqueenqueen - aw it's ok, we're all the same here and understand how it is :( xx

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 19:24

@starkid good that they are going to get back to you! Hopefully things can move quicker.

@queenqueenqueen sorry you are feeling so sad and resentful. It is totally normal though, we can all definitely relate. Just try to remember that other people's babies or lives make absolutely no different to yours. That's how I try and deal with it. I know it's easier said than done. Rant on here, we are all here to help 💗

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:03

Keep giving myself these silly milestones / goal posts like "as long as I'm pregnant before what would have been the due date of the baby I miscarried" or "as long as I'm pregnant within the year" - feeling shit as all of those have long gone now. I've been diagnosed with this stupid under active thyroid and that changed things but think I felt pleased that things would start to change for us now.. Periods seem go have settled down but still nothing. .. thought id give it a couple of months and start taking some OPKS - started this month and still bloody nothing. I honestly feel like just totally giving up now.

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 21:17

@queenqueenqueen if your periods have settled down then that's positive now! You should definitely start using opks, I really do recommend the clear blue advanced, they have really helped me relax as they just tell me when to dtd! Xxxx

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:19

@maisy24 how long have you been TTC? Can you send a link to the one you have please? I've been using internet cheapys which I have had Success with before x

Maisy24 · 18/11/2019 21:28

@queenqueenqueen sure photo attached, they are around £26 but totally worth it for me. I also temped along with it and it all tied up as my temp went up the day after my static smiley, so definitely work . It gave me three flashing smileys (high) before my static one (peak) so i was able to dtd on all 4 days so i feel it increased my chances. with the eBay cheapies i would just go from negative to positive and then might only do it once in the correct timeframe Xxxx

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:39

@maisy24 have you had your BFP then? If not how long have you been trying and using that? Xx

queenqueenqueen · 18/11/2019 21:46

Ps thanks for the link x
