TTC Baby number 1 - Looking for buddies

Hi Ladies 🙋,

I'm new to the forum so thought I'd look for some TTC buddies.
I'm 30 and TTC baby number 1, I came off the pill beginning of May and had a withdrawal bleed a few days later then got my first AF 4 weeks after that. Last month I sadly had a chemical it was gutting seeing the faint line go but I guess it wasn't my time!
AF arrived on time Sunday so looks like my cycle ranges from 34-35 days.
I'm currently taking pregnacare and using the Ovia app for ovulation, I'm thinking if I don't concieve by month 6 I'll try ovulation sticks. Onward to month 4 I go 🤣

@Raizelrea no don't worry about that! My sister is 27 and she hasn't even got a partner yet she's so worried that she won't be able to have kids until she's mid thirties or something but I've told her not to worry 😅

Fingers crossed sweetie 🤞🏻🤞🏻 yeah countdown begins will be a week tomorrow 😍 I'm 6+1 now according to LMP but think at my scan I'm supposed to be 7+2 but feel they might date me more towards 6+6 because I have long cycles of 32/34 days, ooohh sober birthday celebrations for us both then 😅

@Nicecupofcoco yeah I'm only worried that they will say peanuts stopped growing or something, but I've had no bleeding or anything to suggest anything is wrong so I'm just trying to stay as positive as can be! My friend at work is 25 weeks and she's never had any symptoms except being very tired 😅

@flossy12 I am, checked again and it's so so watery but not a lot of it. Not going to lie, I feel very excited/nervous now. Had my last wee and I'm already to go. This little bladder of mine WILL hold out for that stick! And then it's go time 🤞🏻💫

@flossy12 I don't have a cut, so directly it is 😬 and hopefully on the stick and not all over myself 🤣🙊what did you do? Is there a best way to do it? 🙈

@Gigi318 I don't think there's any best way 😂 just I had a cup handy due to using IC in previous cycles aha! Yeah the struggle is real of not ending up with a pissy hand 🙄😂🤞🏻

Ladies, I did the test and it didn't work. Literally held it all night after a bad nights sleep, just went and the little line in the control window hasn't come up!!! What is wrong with me!!! Maybe I peed too much??? I cannot believe this!!!!!!!!! 🙈🙈🙈 do I have to wait until tomorrow now? Arghh!!!!

@Gigi318 oh god no really!? 😩😩 unless you can hold another 4/6 hour wee? 😅🤣 probably best to wait until tomorrow if your wanting the strongest result? But if it's positive it might show up faint? I'm not sure how it works 😅

@Gigi318 I also realised last night that the first 'urine pot' I had handy to use when I started using my OPKs was an old tea light holder 😅 a little glass one 😂😂 oh gosh

@flossy12 I just cannot believe it 🤣 all this waiting and it didn’t work! I'm going to try hold it and then use the digital I think - more so to practice as I clearly have no idea what I'm doing the last one I did worked fine 🙈 but also going to pop out later and try to find some FRER for the morning. Sorry to let you all down ladies, I officially failed at POAS 🙃🥴🙄

@Gigi318 aha 😅😂 don't worry about us atleast we have some excitement to look forward to this weekend! You never know you might get that 'Pregnant 1-2 weeks' on your digital later 😍🤞🏻 just try not to drink loads as it will dilute the urine

@Gigi318 Oh no 😆 Did you get the holder wet? It could have just been a faulty test though! May be easier with peeing in some kind of a container and then dipping? I literally just use some plastic cups one of my friends brought to play beerpong at our housewarming a year ago 😆

I always found second morning urine worked better, got a stronger result. So if you did want to test again today, I'd only drink a little between now and then and test again in a couple of hours!
I'd say at 14dpo your test would likely show positive anytime of day now...But completely understand if you want to wait and use fmu tomorrow or when ever. xx

@Raizelrea I got negative opk tests twice a day for 4 days then got a solid smiley (no flashing ones at all).
Am now 6dpo and mid 2ww, I hate waiting, am sometimes so impatient

@claireb707 I think it's impossible not to be impatient with these things! Was your static smiley in the morning or afternoon? I wouldn't have thought of testing multiple times a day until I got the flashing one, well done for catching it!

Only a week to go for you then! Hopefully it will go by quick! Do you have any nice plans for the weekend?

This weekend clearing out spare room ready to empty contents of garage in so we can order our new kitchen 😀 and start getting stuff ready for holiday on Friday!

@flossy12 hahaha I've literally only sipped water. I have the digital without the weeks indicator 🙄 but still going to give it a go in a bit. Cannot believe my luck 😂🙈

@Raizelrea that I did - it went everywhere. I must have flooded the thing. Dammit. That would have been some pretty potent pee too!!! I'm trying to think what I can use! I may just pee in something to be sure!

@Nicecupofcoco yay to that answer. How long should I wait. Is 3 hours enough? I definitely can't wait until tomorrow now, I need to practice hahaha! Do you do it directly or in a cup?

@Gigi318 I wee into a hairspray lid! 😂 So yeah I'd say into a container if possible, easier to see what your doing. Keeping fingers crossed xx

@Gigi318 sorry forgot to add, I think two to three hours would be fine if you haven't had much to drink today. With ds when I tested about 14dpo I'd been away so just tested as soon as we got home, about lunch time one day and got a nice strong line. So hopefully waiting a couple of hours and testing again you should still get a clear answer xx

@Nicecupofcoco okay that settles it, I'm going to find a pot! Does it matter if I don't catch lots or do you make sure the tip is completely immersed? I am excited now. Hope I can get enough 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Gigi318 no don't worry too much. Just try to catch as much as you can, but will admit there's been times where I've literally squeezed out the tiniest bit, just so I can test, 😂 then tipped the container slightly so I was able to dip a test into it. Can't wait for your results! Xx

@Gigi318 I use an old Lush pot that used to have hand cream in 😂 it works great! I always catch more than enough.
