TTC Baby number 1 - Looking for buddies

Hewie30 · 20/08/2019 13:30

Hi Ladies 🙋,

I'm new to the forum so thought I'd look for some TTC buddies.
I'm 30 and TTC baby number 1, I came off the pill beginning of May and had a withdrawal bleed a few days later then got my first AF 4 weeks after that. Last month I sadly had a chemical it was gutting seeing the faint line go but I guess it wasn't my time!
AF arrived on time Sunday so looks like my cycle ranges from 34-35 days.
I'm currently taking pregnacare and using the Ovia app for ovulation, I'm thinking if I don't concieve by month 6 I'll try ovulation sticks. Onward to month 4 I go 🤣

@Gigi318

Thank you 😊

Wishing you every luck in your journey!.. x

Hi!

I've been looking for some support with my TTC journey so thought I'd love to join this chat :)

TTC baby number one. Been trying since May but been off pill since March. I have a 25 day cycle with a 4 day period according to Clue. It seems pretty accurate accourding to when I take my period but I'd love your thoughts on Clue and if you've found a better app.

Love for some chat with someone whos not my Husband as I feel like baby chat is taking over our world!

Thanks in advance :) Kirsty x

Gigi318 · 10/09/2019 22:07

@Klmccor Hi Kirsty! A lot of the lovely ladies in this thread have mentioned Flo, so I downloaded that tonight and am currently doing the free trial. Lots also use the ovulation strips (opk?) - which I think I'll try next month if I don't get my BFP x

Hewie30 · 10/09/2019 22:08

@lifesforlivingandloving Oh sorry hun I must have misread it! Yeah I've heard they can change too, as long as your little bean is okay that's the main thing ☺️.

Awh bless you, another lady on here said how the 1st trimester is the most difficult for some women with the tiredness and sickness etc. Hopefully it'll ease a bit for you soon!

I'm good thanks hun, 4dpo today. Due to my cycles being on the long side everything seems to drag 🤣. Using the opks this cycle has definitely helped though, fingers crossed it's caught 🤞 xx

@flossy12 Haha oh my god that's hailarious 🤣🤣🤣. Bet that was a shock! You get to a point where you want a positive but you do expect a negative. All that dtd worked eh 🤣😜. Awh I'm so happy for you honestly ❤️ xx

@gigi318 @klmccor Welcome ladies!! Of course your both welcome to join ☺️. How you both finding everything?

Definatly recommend Flo and I also use Ovia too. Their both quite accurate for me, Ovia tells you in number out of 10 your best days which is really useful xx

Welcome to the newbies!
@Klmccor I've been using Clue for years and always found it accurate for AF. Once I started using OPKs I realised I ovulate a day or 2 earlier than it predicted but it wasn't too far out to be honest. I also download Glow and Ovia as I wanted to compare. They can only predict based on averages though unless you input data like OPKs and CM etc.

Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 08:44

Thanks @Hewie30! Everything is very fresh and new for me. I've not been on contraception for years (tried everything and don't get on with any of it) and we've been doing the old fashioned method ever since.

I feel like I know my body so well - ovulation cramps and CM and the changes in CM before and after etc. So I always used to keep him away from me around that time haha. Oh how things change.

I'm just seeing how it goes as this is our first actual time. Kinda. Just seeing how it goes.

How are you feeling now you're 4pdo? I'm very certain I'm 8dpo. But we shall see. Just going to hold out to AF due date and test. 12 days to go Confused

Hewie30 · 11/09/2019 09:03

@Gigi318 That's really good your in-tune with your body tracking CM helps massively! You'll pick up alot being on here, I certainly have. You feel like a pro by the time the first month's done 🤣. Haha! Good thinking, your oh probably knows when your due to ovulate aswell as you do, but now you won't be pushing him away 🤣.

I feel okay you know! I tried opks for the first time this month to track ovulation and I think I ovulated a day or two before when my app has been saying so hoping I'm in with a gold chance. I've got backpain and tiredness but I'm not getting my hopes up and putting it down to lack of sleep and lots of walking 🙈. How you feeling? Xx

OP posts:
Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 09:22

@Hewie30 definitely! I've learnt a lot already - I was reading threads online and then created an account, downloaded the app, and here I am. When I saw this tread with us all all around similar ages and many trying for the first time I though, yes - that's a sign to join in!

He's not very observant bless him, but I think he's happy to officially DTD the way he is meant to haha!!

That's good, I have some back pain too. Did you find the OPKs helpful then? And recommend? The Flo app says my best day was 8th - and I'd confused my dates before that but I'm sure I ovulated earlier due to EWCM! We shall see. It sounds nuts but I NEVER feel like this usually. So nauseous. I don't think it's my mind playing tricks on me. We just need to stay calm!

When is AF due for you? When are you going to test? X

Hewie30 · 11/09/2019 11:45

@gigi318 Haha do you 🤣, it's mad how much you start reading and when you talk to people you pick up so much. Definatly is a sign!! You were meant to join this thread 😜, it's nice to have everyone here to support eachother especially during the 2ww it can be horrible waiting and when you got symptoms, someone to tell you your not going mad!! Haha bless him, men aren't too good at this! My other half thought it's better to dtd after ovulation 🤷🙄.

I've found it helpful talking just for reassurance and to tell me when I'm being a doughnut. It saves my other half getting a earache that's for sure! You know what I was a bit apprehensive but I've found they've helped, I got cheapies to see first and I've noticed i ovulated a few days before the app says so the past 3 months I think I've literally been either missing ovulation or dtd the day after. The clearblue ones are meant to be amazing but their SO expensive

Really!! Eeeek fingers crossed for you hun 🤞. When are you going to test? AF is due on the 20th for me, I want to try and leave as long as possible but might to a test on the 18th xx

OP posts:
Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 11:58

@Hewie30 absolutely - I've picked up so much in just three weeks! Yes it all felt quite right! Completely agree, my OH isn't really into talking about it (think he is still a tad freaked out) and will never talk about anything women's health related - creeps him out 😂 soooo - you ladies are very much needed!

That's really good to know, thank you. I'm half tempted to just go by my body. Part of me thinks I'll obsess myself into bad luck if I start tracking too much - if that makes sense? We shall we what this month brings and go from there!

Oh excellent. Not too much longer to wait now! Potentially only a week - eek! I believe I'll be due on 22nd BUT my days can vary. And I have quite a big day on 22nd so I am tempted to wait until 23rd. I'd originally thought to do it 21st but OH has made plans and I don't want it to throw things off. But who knows! Now I'm excited for 18th for you. Remember to think positive thoughts 💫

Raizelrea · 11/09/2019 13:03

@Gigi318 Welcome! Definitely sounds like you've already got a bit of an edge! I originally also intended to go by my body but it made me obsess loads ironically - I was scrutinising my CM every time I went to the loo and it was just ridiculous. So I'm trying CB OPKs this month in the hopes it will make me obsess less because it takes the guessing element out. Think I'll see how I go with that for a cycle or 2 and then stop tracking again (if I don't fall pregnant by then that is!)

Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 13:19

@Raizelrea thank you! It's so funny isn't it, how we all react to things in different ways. Sorry to hear about your latest AF - do your best not to stress this month, you've got this! September will be a good month for you ✨ Where are you in your cycle?

Let me know how you get on with the Cb kits! I hopefully won't need them next month, but handy to know your thoughts if I do!

Hewie30 · 11/09/2019 15:27

@gigi318 Don't worry my other half is exactly the same, he seems a bit freaked out when we've spoken about fertile windows etc, you should have witnessed the conversation about the opks he found that was a good one 🤣, so the ladies here are amazing to talk too and be baby cheerleaders ☺️.

See how you get on after this cycle hun, I wanted to wait a few cycles before trying opks. They can get you obsessed especially with the app it drove me crazy at points so I decided to do my own chart and judge it by that 🤣. Hopefully though this month will be your month and you won't even have to think about using them in the first place!

That's great that we're due on a few days apart 🤞☺️. Positive thinking for both of us haha. Without sounding tmi I'm having alot of sticky creamy cm that I feel like I've wet myself but haven't 🤣. Hopefully that means something! Xx

OP posts:
Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 15:40

@Hewie30 OMG I have too. I know it's a bit TMI but I just feel wet down there all of the time. The backache is driving me nuts too. It just feels right, and I'm a gal that goes with her gut - but we shall see.

Oh I can only imagine 😂 my OH just can't do the convos. Not that I mind, it is all a bit gross sometimes. How he will cope in delivery, mind you, I'll never know!

I think we're quite similar there. I don't like the idea of using them, as I know stress and obsession can harm chances (so they say) and I just want to go with it. What will be will be, when it's meant to be.

But, here's hoping for the both of us. Now to find a distraction for a week (you) and 12 days (me) 🙈

Hewie30 · 11/09/2019 16:23

@Gigi318 Have you!! How strange! Hopefully it means something, a few ladies on here have ended up with BFPs with that symptom but trying not to get my hopes up. I had every symptom going last month and AF arrived 🙄.

Haha! He's going to have to stay up by your head and stare at you, you might have to remind him NOT to look down 🤣🤣. Their so funny aren't they! Yeah your right some of it is really gross but that's why we're all here because we all understand the reasoning for it 🤣.
This is exactly it, you don't want to stress so anything you feel may stress you out is not worth doing. You want to be relaxed as possible, I only started opks because every month my cycles been a different length so I didn't know when ovulation was going to happen.

Haha! God knows! 🤣. We're going to have to try keep ourselves busy!! I might focus on the gym 🤣 xx

OP posts:
Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 16:38

@Hewie30 yes, it's odd. But we shall see. Can't say I've ever noticed backache and nauseous ever. I quite often get ovulation cramps but thats it. And like I said, that was always a warning to keep OH away 🤣

Oh how it changes!

Yes. I think @flossy12 is giving me hope here. But I'm trying to remain impartial because what has (or hasn't) happened is already done. So now I wait! Hmm, maybe last month the implant didn't take? Who knows. We could worry ourselves sick wondering.

Have you ever checked your cervix? I didn't even know what was a thing. I'm so green! Xx

flossy12 · 11/09/2019 17:47

@Hewie30 yeah we were both expecting BFN I think tbh because I worked out we DTD 3 times in one day when I got my positive and EWCM but then not once after so must have been the end of my surge that I caught on the OPK 🤷🏼‍♀️ so not sure on dpo now but going my 16 at mo!

@Gigi318 got my fingers crossed for you sweetie 🤞🏻💞 I didn't expect my BFP and had next to no symptoms, none that were major noticeable anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️ x

Raizelrea · 11/09/2019 17:50

@Gigi318 Thank you! I'm on CD 7 so just about to start with the CB OPKs tomorrow, kind of excited about it haha (I am sad 😄). I don't really mind this part of the cycle as you can be proactive, the TWW is much harder! Do you have any nice weekend plans to take your mind off things?

@Hewie30 I keep the information for OH at a pleasant minimum (i.e. "we should do more sexing" type of conversation 😄). Last time I tried mentioning my luteal phase he said he thought I'd promised I wouldn't talk about horoscopes 😂

Fingers crossed for the 18th for you!

Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 17:56

@flossy12 thank you! I could be going mad, but this is all very new to me. It's a waiting game I guess.

@Raizelrea oh my goodness - horoscopes 🤣 so so funny! And yes DEF an exciting phase. I'm doing okay in TWW so far I think? Just trying to focus on work and currently thinking about what to cook at the weekend for something to look forward to 🙈🙊

What do you girls do about wine etc? I usually love a glass but I feel a bit strange about whether I should turn a blind eye and just carry on until I test?

flossy12 · 11/09/2019 17:58

@Gigi318 was only cycle 4 for me 😘 I tried to hard to not test everyday from 8dpo 😅 but just had to go and wee without POAS and then I knew no test for the rest of the day would be accurate anyway so that helped 😅😂

Izzie94 · 11/09/2019 18:11

Hi Ladies,

Hope you all don't mind me joining, I've been lurking for SO long now and resisted to join to try and not get caught up in things, but yous are all so supportive and why not!! 😁

I'm 25 (DP is 30) and I have a DSS who's 8
TTC #1
Officially Cycle 6 now
CD1

I came off the pill in March after 10 years on it!! Crazy! I was lucky and I got my usual regular periods back straight away 27-28 days, but my periods are now super light, usually 1 - 2days (barely needing a tampon change-sorry!) with spotting either side and after the horrendous googling I'm now worried this may be causing problems with my TTC journey 😩 has anyone else had this?

Not using OPK's, just ap tracking and trying to track CM. Just hoping it happens soon, DP's DS was a happy accident, so as you can imagine Im feeling the pressure even more that there's something wrong. Cor us women worry don't we??? 😅

Fingers crossed and baby dust to you all!! X

Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 18:30

Oh fantastic @flossy12! Now the fun begins hey! Yes the waiting is very strange. I'm kind of glad I have only CB here as it's making me wait so I don't get an inaccurate reading. And I have a lot on next weekend so more reason to wait. Whatever is or isn't, has already happened - so I don't mind the wait (can you tell I'm cycle on 😅)

Gigi318 · 11/09/2019 18:32

Also, welcome @Izzie94! Hopefully things will regulate for you. Are you having ovulation symptoms? Where are you now CD?
