It’s time for a new thread for a lovely bunch of ladies supporting each other through our TTC efforts, possible IVF plans, possible alternative life journeys and adventures with or without babies after the age of 35. Think that about sums it up Grin

Ok so long shot. But I’m so confused. I was obviously having follicular scanning done which ended last Friday. With not much growth or change for 5 days. Follicles were measuring 13mm. Well been having a few O symptoms so took an ov test and it’s positive. So does that mean my body is just rolling with cycle for af to show and the follicles are probably no
Use at all because they were so slow growing? Or am I in with the same chance as every other month? It’s CD26 by the way.

I should just give up and enjoy Xmas really because they are probably no use after such a slow grow! 🙈

BambiOnIce80 · 20/12/2019 07:41

Sounds like you might have ov'd late @Carley321 (and it's pretty impressive that you know your body so well now that you can be spot on about when you're ovulating 😉). Best get DingTD!!

BambiOnIce80 · 20/12/2019 07:43

Thanks for thinking of me @Weathergirl1😘 I hope you have a lovely first Christmas with your LO🎄 ☃️🎁🎅🏻❤️

Carley321 · 20/12/2019 19:37

It’s more crazy than impressive. I’ve turned into a symptom spotting maniac! It’s no fun just obsessive! But my follicles did grow to an extent so wouldn’t this make them no good anyway because it’s been way to long with them Hanging around in there? It is very confusing. But
I’m not going to let It affect me Over Xmas. I could just be having all the signs and that’s where it stops! So bugger it!

Hope you are doing well? X

BambiOnIce80 · 24/12/2019 17:46

Bugger it indeed @Carley321! 😂 Definitely don't let it ruin your Christmas plans! 😘

Hopping on to wish all you wonderful ladies a fabulous Christmas and a lucky New Year 🎄💖🎄💖

Hello everyone,
I hope you're all having a good start to 2020. I posted on this thread a year ago (not expecting anyone to remember!). I've been trying to catch up with where you're all at now - but there's so many posts so please bear with me! Was hoping I could re-join this lovely supportive community, so to speak.
In short, to recap on my situation - I was 36 then, I'm 37 now and my partner was reluctant to start to try for a family. It has taken a year (plus some disappointing fertility tests/results for me) to persuade him to start trying, but we officially started this month. Having a mix of emotions right now. Happy that we're now trying but also feel like we wasted a year (or more) - but there's no changing the past. Have done lots of fertility testing (just me, not him - still working on that...), now I'm doing ovulation tests and temperature monitoring to try and determine the right time / peak fertility. Feeling a bit upset with him right now as I feel like we didn't make as much of an effort this first cycle as I would have hoped for, but I suppose he's perhaps still getting used to the idea.
I imagine that it'll be a long road ahead for us, but this is the first time in my life I've tried to conceive so it's a real mix of emotions. Strangely, I think I'm feeling sad and scared mostly, whereas I expected to feel excited embarking on this journey. I also feel quite lonely in a sense as I'm trying to educate myself on all things fertility and my partner isn't.
Anyway, I hope the festive season was kind to you all (I feel like it can be a really hard time for many of us). And thanks in advance for letting me rejoin :)

II must add I just turned 39 on the 2nd of this month. Since age 22 I've had 2 ectopics with 1 tube removed, and 2 MC with the last one after I stopped my endometriosis meds in June. know that you can ov 2x, but it's usually a few days apart when the 1st ov doesn't take. My first surge was cd7 and I got another higher surge on cd22🤨. I have had 2 off cycles (one being 27 days and the last 20 days)but my normal is 28-29 days. This is my first time using AccuMed LH Testing strips. I usually temp but stop because my sleep schedule is wonky.
Still waiting for my cycle to start this month. If it's back to normal then I should start on the 9-11th. I did have spotting on cd18 after we BD, and then a little on cd19 all without clots.

Swife · 08/01/2020 01:38

I forgot my pics. The first two are my lh Tests this cycle and the last is my cycle history since starting ttc

Hi. I would like to join this thread. I'm just this month age 39. Since age 22 I've had 2 ectopics with a tube being removed 😒, 1 MC and 1 non viable in July when I went off Endo meds to start TTC. Up until Nov., my cycles have been consistent at 28-29 days with 4 day bleeds. My Endo meds completely stopped my cycles until I stopped taking them. My OBGYN has me on Letrozole and Progesterone to aid in our TTC journey. In Nov. I had a 26 day cycle with a 2 day bleed and come Dec. I had a 20 day cycle with a 3 day bleed. I stopped temping since I have insomnia and my sleep was always off and started with OPKs this cycle. My first test showed peak at .89 on cd7(the day I started testing) so we been doing the BD since, with some breaks. On CD18 we BD'd and afterwards noticed blood. No clots and it lasted til cd19 then completely stopped. Fast forward to cd22 and I get a 1.23 peak lh surge 😕! 6 days before expected period! Can that even happen?! Since that surge I've still been testing my LH and all my HCG tests have been BFN(the tests are AccuMed online cheapies). I also had what I thought were period cramps since the second surge. I did contact my OBGYN with all this info with pics and all she said was "call me when you get a BFP". Now I'm waiting for my period to start, praying I'm not going through menopause, obsessing over POAS and driving my DH crazy with me 😜!

Morning ladies! I'm now just waiting to see if my period is coming or not. Since my cycles have been wonky these past two cycles, all my apps are all over the place with predictions 😒. Based on that, one app says I'm two days late. Another one has me starting today (their following a 27-29 day cycle) and then since I had a 2nd, higher LH peak on cd22, my testing apps say I'm not to see my cycle until the 23rd! THAT'S 39-40 days!!! I've NEVER had a cycle that long! I tested with cheapies yesterday and it still is a BFN so I'm not gonna drive myself crazy. Now I'm just playing the 'Pregnant or Period' game 🤔.

Swife · 12/01/2020 18:05

Update: sent a message to my OBGYN and going off of my pregnancy history and following my normal cycle of 28-29 days, I'm technically late.
I have to go in tomorrow and get a blood pregnancy test, then another one on Wednesday and then a sonogram on Thursday. I also have to take 200mg of progesterone vaginally, every 8 hrs until we figure out if I'm pregnant or not.

Carley321 · 13/01/2020 19:23

Hello ladies. Hope you all had a lovely a Christmas and everyone is well. Hope we get to stay in touch.

How are you holding up @BambiOnIce80 I have everything crossed for your journey 🤞.

@Swife wow that is all very confusing. But I’d be absolutely no help. I literally have a different cycle every month, just to keep me in my toes. It’s very frustrating. But intrigued to know how you get on at the docs. So let us know.

I’ve never had a hint of a bfp and was actually 1 day late for af last month (well 3 if we include spotting) but still a bfn.

BambiOnIce80 · 13/01/2020 20:02

Happy New year ladies! 🥳 Welcome back @Clare19821 💐 It is really overwhelming when you start TTC and try to wrap your head around everything to help improve chances, but a good few of us have been there and got the T-shirt so we'll definitely keep you right 😉

I hope your blood test went OK @Swife? 🤞🏻

I'm holding up alright my lovely @Carley321 🥰 You must have felt a disturbance in the force - it's actually egg collection day for me tomorrow!! 😳🔮😂 This time tomorrow we should know if I was right to be obsessing about slutty and hard boiled eggs! 💃🥚 🤓 I'll be smacked off my tits afterwards on fentanyl (really wish I'd never watched 'America's fentanyl crisis' on iplayer now! 😞), so DP has a flow chart/decision tree to get him through any decision making with the embryologist... yes, I am aware I am a control freak! 😬 How are you doing lovely? What's going on with your scan results/lap/everything?!x

Swife · 14/01/2020 00:30

k so I went worried about my cycles and came out with a referral to have a colonoscopy done 😒. Let me explain 😁.

I noticed some black tarry substance in my poop(TMI SRY😔) and my OBGYN is worried the my Endometriosis is flaring up and since it can dump blood ANYWHERE in the body, she wants to be sure it didn't go there and she wants to check for other causes of old blood being there.

So I did do a complete blood to check for pregnancy as well as my Progesterone levels(because the older we get the lower our progesterone gets). Since I'm 38 my strange cycle the past 2 and now may be due to low Progesterone. So she up'ed it from 200 to 400mg every day instead of on cd13-25.

I call tomorrow for my results and then go back Wednesday for a sonogram so that she can check to make sure I don't have any cysts(I had that when she first met me and then quickly diagnosed me with Endometriosis).

It would be nice to hear I gotta go back to check my HCG levels 🤞🏽.

Clare19821 · 14/01/2020 02:59

Good luck tomorrow @BambiOnIce80! Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Swife · 14/01/2020 04:15

@BambiOnIce80 Good luck tomorrow & loads of baby dust 🧚🏽‍♀️

Carley321 · 14/01/2020 06:46

Sorry it wasn’t what you’d expected @Swife 😕 but 🤞 that everything turns out to be ok. It’s 1 intrusion after another this ttc malarkey isn’t it.
I am soon to have a laparoscopy so 🤞.

@BambiOnIce80 having a bit of a nightmare with nhs being passed from pillar to post it’s seriously gets me down. Still waiting on lap. But have spoke to my private clinic in the mean time. My AMH came back normal, 19. Something 🤔. Although I don’t really know what that means?
So waiting on the lap before private clinic can try clomid. So bloody hard to just wait all the time.

Oh wow so a big day for you both. I do think I have a little empath in me. Sending you lots and lots of luck 🤞💐 I hope those little eggs behave. Also hope your feeling ok afterwards xxx
