It’s time for a new thread for a lovely bunch of ladies supporting each other through our TTC efforts, possible IVF plans, possible alternative life journeys and adventures with or without babies after the age of 35. Think that about sums it up Grin

@BambiOnIce80 @79andnotout @CNizzle @VenusStarr @QuantumGirl @Carley321 @Wannabemum38 @Russkispy @Kescilly @Laney79 @Weathergirl1 @Pinkywoo @birdbybird

I’ve included everyone who has posted on the last four pages of the previous thread. Hope that’s o.k as I know some of you have graduated to another thread, but still like to check in and apologies if i’ve missed anyone.

Lots of luck to everyone at whatever stage we’re at 💕

@annabe11 🤞 for the tube flushing. I believe there's quite a lit of research to say that having a tube latency test does increase fertility for a few months after. Good luck x

Annabe11 · 06/11/2019 16:50

@CNizzle yeah I heard the same! Convinced myself it would happen first cycle but I'm sat here with cramps 🙄 if anyone has any tips on how NOT to symptom spot / get hopes up then please let me know 😂

CNizzle · 09/11/2019 09:58

@annabe11 I've no idea! I wish I knew, 2 years down the line i go through phases of super-symptom-spotting. Feeling less sorry for myself now, It's amazing how hormones affect your mood.

Picked up my wedding dress on Thursday. It fits! (Hurrah!) But still needs a few alterations, and I'm hoping to lose this weight before March (for the wedding, and potential IVF). Probably a good job I wasn't pregnant this month, I couldn't afford to buy a second one for a 5-month bump! 4 is slightly more achievable!!

Annabe11 · 11/11/2019 10:14

@CNizzle that's exciting! And a wedding is a nice distraction!! Symptom spotting is the worst... AF arrived last night, 4 days late, and even though I knew she was on her way, I was still gutted!!! On to cycle 19 :(

Carley321 · 15/11/2019 16:54

Thanks @Annabe11 I am so nervous lol. I’m glad to be having it done though. How are you getting in? I know 3 people that caught within 3 months after just the hsg so I’m betting a lap would be even better 🤞🤞 for you.

Exciting stuff @CNizzle I bet it’s such a welcome distraction.

How are you @BambiOnIce80 hope all
Is well?

Not to bad here in ttw again. Not that it means much to me anywhere 🙄. Having an ovary scan next cycle to see what’s going on throughout the month. Then hopefully not to long a wait for the lap.

BambiOnIce80 · 18/11/2019 13:26

I'm just back from our holiday, thanks for asking @Carley321 😘 Likely to be IVF down-regging starting in about 3 weeks time, so starting to tentatively feel like we're going to be getting this IVF show on the road soon-ish🤞🏻I feel really weird about it though - kind of like I'm past caring about whether it works or not... Just want to be past it so that we can move on and all the uncertainty can finally be over, if that makes sense? Sounds like there are planned steps in the right direction for you too next cycle (exciting! 🤩). I have a good feeling that once you get that lap out of the way you'll be TTC-ing au naturel before you know it 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀

Exciting stuff about picking up your wedding dress too @CNizzle ! 💒 👗 😍 How are all the plans going?x

Sorry to hear AF turned up late @Annabe11 💐

How's the clomid going @Chelonia?x

Thinking of you @PixieN ❤️ Can't remember when your scan is, but very eager to hear if it's one or two buns in your oven! 🤩

PixieN · 18/11/2019 17:53

Thanks for asking about me @BambiOnIce80 and for your positive thoughts ladies. We had our scan today and saw our baby - there was just one in there! 😀❤️ Everything is as it should be measurement-wise and we saw the heartbeat which was amazing! We’re 7 and a half weeks along. I’m still in shock. It’s going to be a long, anxious wait until the 12 week scan. I know it’s still early days and I know I’m going to be so tempted to go for another scan before then, but DH thinks it would be a bad idea. I’m also nervous about stopping the progesterone pessaries which run out by 9 weeks, but the nurse said I’ll be producing enough myself by then 🤔 The worry never seems to stop!

@Russkispy think you were having your scan around a similar time - everything crossed for you 🤞💕

@Weathergirl1 you must have had your baby now. Hope you’re doing o.k x

@CNizzle - Hope that your wedding plans are going well - great that you’ve got your wedding dress x

Sounds like things are moving in the right direction for you @Carley321🤞 X

Awwwwww, so glad that the scan went well @PixieN !😍 Are you relieved or a teeny bit disappointed that there aren't 2?! The only reason I ask is that my DP is very much wanting to transfer 2 (if we get that far, of course 😏) and I keep yo-yoing between "🤬 it - let's go for it!" and "hmmmm, but I don't think I could cope with twins!" 😩 Really, really can't make up my mind, so would love to know what your gut reaction was.xx

CNizzle · 18/11/2019 22:34

Hi @BambiOnIce80! Great to hear things are progressing! Transferring 2 is a big thought... I have a pal with ivf twins, not sure how she copes, but she makes it look easy!!
@PixieN fabulous about the scan. It's obviously nervy times, but wishing you a healthy rest of pregnancy.
Wedding plans are moving swiftly... its been making me very reflective recently. Still can't quite believe it. 2019 has been a really strange year. The saddest of times with dad passing away in January to happiest in July getting engaged. I've loved and hated this year so much . Ttc has just been a consistently adding to the trauma of the year, but the thought of turning 40 early next year and stress of organising a wedding are filling me with dread. I'm have wishing time away, half trying to stop it moving. Ttc with my looming 40th seems to be the biggest hurdle at the mo tho.
Anyone else feel like this?
Soz for the essay.

Russkispy · 18/11/2019 22:37

@PixieN very happy for you! Sadly I suffered a chemical pregnancy 4 days after OTD and seeing strong lines on HPT. Still trying to work out why first DE cycle failed. But found no answers. Heading to the clinic next month to do various tests. Thankfully we have 11 top blasts on ice! But at the moment I'm feeling empty and feeling nothing about the next transfer whenever it might be

Weathergirl1 · 18/11/2019 23:25

@PixieN hello! Good news on your scan! I felt very in limbo ticking off the weeks to the 12 week mark (well 11 when we had Harmony and found all was well). Our LO is now 11 days old (still a week to go to EDD!) and it's been a bit of a blur so far. ELCS was fine, aftercare for me a bit less so... But I'm ok now - just had a longer stay in hospital than I really wanted.

CNizzle · 18/11/2019 23:54

@Russkispy sorry to hear your sad news. Thinking of you x

PixieN · 19/11/2019 11:13

So sorry to hear this @Russkispy 😢💕 Hope you’re looking after yourself - it will take time to process. Hope the clinic can give you some answers too x

Congratulations @Weathergirl1 glad that all is well. I can’t believe your baby is 11 days old! ❤️ Did you have a boy or a girl? I will pop over to the graduates board at some point to catch up properly - just worried as it’s still very early days for me x

@CNizzle - you’ve had a hell of a year so I hope that things calm down for you. Wedding planning can be really stressful, and ttc doesn’t help! We tried to minimise stress by having a fairly small, informal wedding - we only had 25 people - and it was magical.

@BambiOnIce80 I was worried there wasn’t anything in there as it seemed to take ages and she checked my ovaries first. Then there was a huge silence, which seemed to last forever. Afterwards, DH said that he thought it was going to be bad news too. I was just so relieved when she finally said she could see one and then she swivelled the screen around to show us. At that point, I did ask if she could see anything else, but she said definitely only one. Not sure how I felt tbh. I think there was a pang of disappointment later, but I was just so relieved to see one with a heartbeat - was really expecting the worst. I’m not sure I’d be able to cope with twins (I think one will be hard enough) though my friend has twin girls who are absolutely gorgeous. I know DH was freaked out by the possibility, but people do manage. It is a massive decision though xx

BambiOnIce80 · 19/11/2019 13:39

I'm really sorry to hear your sad news @Russkispy 💐 Hopefully the tests will add some clarity 🤞🏻

I get you @CNizzle ❤️ I don't think I'd be finding turning 40 next year such a big deal if it wasn't for all this TTC nonsense, but I guess it is what it is 😏 You have had one hell of a year, so please be kind to yourself.x

Soooo pleased to hear your LO has arrived safely @Weathergirl1 💖

Thanks so much for sharing your experience @PixieN 😊 I still really don't know what to do for the best outcome, but I think I need to stop thinking about it for a while and revisit it nearer the time... Otherwise I think I'm going to drive myself nuts thinking in circles 🤪

Carley321 · 24/11/2019 19:33

Hello all sorry for the delay. Had a bit of a break.

@BambiOnIce80 oh lovely. Did you enjoy hols? I could do with one of those myself ☺️

Wow 3 weeks time is flying. You must have so many feelings at this point. I hope you get to make the decision that you both feel confident with. I completely understand where your coming from with knowing one way or the other. But I have high hopes for you 🤞.

@PixieN lovely news on the scan 😍. Glad you are well.

So sorry @Russkispy. Thinking of you xx

I’m still having weird cycles and still not upduffed lol. This ttc lark is shite!

Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

Carley321 · 24/11/2019 19:34

I also get you @CNizzle I think at any age in your 30s it all seems like a huge rush! And the
Stories you read along with Dr google don’t seem to make things any easier. Hope you are ok 💜

BambiOnIce80 · 25/11/2019 08:43

This TTC lark is indeed 💩 @Carley321 , but we're plodding on 😘 Does that mean your scan is on the horizon?

Holiday was very nice, thanks for asking 😊 It feels like a million years ago already! 😏 Can't help but be focused on all things IVF now that we're back though 🙄 I made poor DP sit through that "making babies" documentary the other night on iplayer 😬 I wasn't intending to, but then I saw that it was A) following 3 couples with primary unexplained infertility and B) all the clinics were in Scotland, so very relevant to us! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 So it was pretty useful as an educational manual rather than just a documentary! 😂 I had the bit with the images of the morphology of day 3 and day 5 embryos freeze framed and was using the kittens laser pointer toy to point out the reason why a day 5 blastocyst is better than a day 3 one 🤓 Fortunately, the kitten didn't pounce at the TV either! 😼 It really helped DP understand that putting 2 day 3's back wouldn't necessarily get us a better outcome than 1 day 5, so that's progress on that discussion 👍

Definitely worth a watch if you want to understand the IVF process better, but be warned - it's certainly not all rainbows and glitter and unicorns 🌈 ✨ 🦄 🚫😔

Carley321 · 27/11/2019 11:15

yes we are, just about @BambiOnIce80 and yes my scans start next week. I have to ring.
Had both my progesterone results for Day21 and Day 28 bloods back. Day 21 was 45 and Day28 was 19. Can you shed some light on this please?

Getting away is so needed isn't it. I love to get away. It free's me.

I think I may have to give it a miss as if it isn't all sunshine and rainbows I will end up worrying about anything negative I see lol. My anxious brain only allows me to focus on the negatives.

BambiOnIce80 · 27/11/2019 11:35

Oooh, happy to help if I can @Carley321! 🤓 For a start, it depends on what your labs reference range for progesterone is? At mine, anything greater than 30 indicates that you ovulated. If we assume that your labs might be the same/similar to mine, then your results suggest you ovulated before day 21 👍🏻 The lower level on day 28 would suggest that the level was dropping because you weren't pregnant and AF was on her way (so normal if you're not pregnant, iyswim?).

Hope this helps, but do check what your labs reference range is (should be in brackets next to your result on the report) - if it's not greater than 30 then ignore everything I've said! 😬

Carley321 · 27/11/2019 12:04

She said day 21 should be over 28 and day 28 is between 16 and 29. Although it’s in the range it’s on the lower side for day 28 isn’t it 🤔. Got me thinking. So nice to have you here to ask lol. ☺️

BambiOnIce80 · 27/11/2019 15:18

Honestly @Carley321, please don't worry - if it's in the reference range then your result is fine. You've got lovely normal results there 😘

Carley321 · 27/11/2019 19:46

Thank you @BambiOnIce80 ☺️ Any more thoughts on the embryo transfer for you? These weeks are flying by!

BambiOnIce80 · 28/11/2019 07:52

You're welcome @Carley321😘 The transfer thing really does come down to if they're going to let us know our embryo quality or not (I suspect they'll relent and tell me when I have a mini tantrum meltdown about it 🤞😬). If the quality is looking average or less at day 3 then we'll put 2 back (the logic being that there's nothing to lose). If the quality is above average or better, then I'd prefer to wait until day 5 and put 1 back. I think I've decided that twins is a lovely and romantic idea (ready made family and all that), but the risk to mother and bambini are significantly higher in twin pregnancies and they'd almost certainly be born pre-term... my science brain seems to be winning over my romantic brain at the moment! 🤓🤦‍♀️

Carley321 · 28/11/2019 07:59

That sounds like reasonable logic @BambiOnIce80 I’m glad you have a plan and you are armed and ready with it all. The wait won’t be much longer now 🤞☺️ X

Carley321 · 08/12/2019 19:28

Just dropping in to wish you lots of luck @BambiOnIce80 I don’t remember the exact dates you ivf’y things start. But sure it’s soon. So lots of luck and hugs being sent your way 😘☺️ X
