It’s time for a new thread for a lovely bunch of ladies supporting each other through our TTC efforts, possible IVF plans, possible alternative life journeys and adventures with or without babies after the age of 35. Think that about sums it up Grin

@BambiOnIce80 @79andnotout @CNizzle @VenusStarr @QuantumGirl @Carley321 @Wannabemum38 @Russkispy @Kescilly @Laney79 @Weathergirl1 @Pinkywoo @birdbybird

I’ve included everyone who has posted on the last four pages of the previous thread. Hope that’s o.k as I know some of you have graduated to another thread, but still like to check in and apologies if i’ve missed anyone.

Lots of luck to everyone at whatever stage we’re at 💕

Oooh, that's a great update @Carley321! 🤩 Sounds like you're in the right place now to start getting some answers 😊

PixieN · 31/10/2019 09:03

Hi ladies, hope you’re all o.k. Been meaning to update you sooner - thanks for all the well wishes 🥰 We tested earlier in the week and it was positive! Huge mix of emotions, mainly shock as I’ve never had even a hint of a bfp before in all the time we’ve been trying. We discussed before hand that we’d only have one embryo implanted if the quality was C grade or above, but we made the decision on the day to have two implanted because they were lower quality. One was better than the other, just looked to be a slow developer but the embryologist said it was moving in the right direction. Anyway, it’s very early days so keep your fingers crossed for us ladies. I’ve got a scan at the clinic in 2 and a half weeks time 🤞💕

OMG @PixieN!!! 😍😍😍 I don't have enough words to tell you how thrilled I am for you!! ❤️❤️❤️ It could even be twins!! 🤯😁🤯😁 How are you feeling?x

PixieN · 31/10/2019 16:12

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 ❤️ We’re really happy too and both amazed that it actually worked! I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet. We asked to implant two because of embryo quality and knew we’d regret it if we didn’t and it turned out to be negative, but not going to lie, the thought of twins is very scary!!! The embryologist said we had a 40% chance of it working so feel very lucky. It’s very early days though so praying our 0.1 (as DH is calling it) stays put and we have a healthy baby at the end of it 💕🤞

It sounds like you’ll be starting your IVF journey soon too so will have everything crossed for you ❤️🤞🤞🤞

Wow @PixieN that’s amazing news ❤️ So pleased for you 🥰. Keeping everything crossed for you 🤞 xxx

BambiOnIce80 · 01/11/2019 05:52

That's really good information to have about your embryo quality tactics @PixieN - thank you for sharing ❤️ As you say, our IVF is getting closer and we'll be trying to figure out whether to try and 'double our chances' by putting 2 back in... Seriously thinking about it!x

Russkispy · 01/11/2019 07:50

@PixieN huge congratulations! Hope it goes smoothly from here on! My early scan is around the same time Smile🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

PixieN · 01/11/2019 10:45

Thanks @Carley321 - hope all is well with you xx

Thanks @Russkispy and congratulations to you too - let us know how your scan goes 💕

We just didn’t want to look back and have regrets @BambiOnIce80 - keep us posted with how your Ivf goes. I’ve been rubbish at staying in touch, but would still like to check in with you all x

Good luck for lots more BFPs ladies xxx

Such lovely news @PixieN yes stay in touch. It’s so nice to see some positive news. Not much new with me still feeling impatient and frightened it will never happen but not to bad thank you.

Have you had anymore thoughts over it @BambiOnIce80 it’s a tough decision xx

BambiOnIce80 · 01/11/2019 18:22

Still thinking about it @Carley321, but it doesn't help that our clinic apparently doesn't tell couples what the embryo quality is like 😕 They've really bought into the studies that say that less stress results in better outcomes (thus the whole 'bring' you're own pj's' thing instead of using a surgical gown and now this! 😣). I appreciate that these things may help a lot of people not fret, but when you're a pragmatic scientist that wants the bloody facts to make a decision it's totally and utterly 💩😩

Like @PixieN said, we'd probably transfer 2 if they were of average quality or less and just go for the 1 if it had excellent quality... Think I'm going to have to do some out and out begging with the embryologist to relent and let us know - we'll be crazy stressed otherwise! 🤯

PixieN · 02/11/2019 09:04

@Carley321 I’m keeping everything crossed for you lovely 🤞 Just need to keep thinking about how many steps further along you are now compared to when you started. It is frustrating that it can feel so slow xx

@BambiOnIce80 I’ve never heard of a clinic doing that 😳 Seems really odd as how are you supposed to make an informed decision if you’re not told about embryo quality? I’d definitely tell the embryologist that you’ll feel more stressed if you’re not told, especially if they’re trying to limit stress - they should be treating you as individuals anyway. My hubby has a science background and wanted as much info as possible about our embryos - they showed us an image of them on screen which was fab X

Oh my goodness what lovely news @Russkispy & @PixieN - it's the luck of the OP at it again! 😀😀

Sitting at 9pdo here. Had a few unusual twinges this month (or so I think...) so I'm on symptom spotting fury. AF due tomorrow or Tuesday, so I'm sitting on my hands until then. Not that I'm hopeful, November's arrival means we've hit the 2 years of trying milestone (um... yay?).

Chelonia · 04/11/2019 18:33

Well I think I'm out, brown cm yesterday and blood when wiping today, which makes this cycle only 25 days long. I'm gutted and just don't know why I'm bothering to try 😪 Theoretically I could talk to fertility clinic about trying letrazole instead to prevent lining thinning and maybe progesterone pessaries but I'm not sure its worth it. Feeling quite hopeless.

Carley321 · 04/11/2019 18:57

Wow @BambiOnIce80 that is a strange one isn’t it. I kind of get it, but at the same time think the unknown would be just as stressful to me personally. So completely get your concerns with that. Love the pj’s rule though. I Think it’s definitely your right to know if that’s what you choose.

Thank you @PixieN it does feel slow. I also can’t help thinking... hopefully it will let us have one more month to try as time goes on. Silly I know.

So I’ve had a strange cycle again. 25 days last cycle and now at CD 11 TMI... I’m spotting very light pink (only when wiping) but still new for me. What on earth has that hsg done to me 🤔. I’ve also had a right stabbing niggle in my right side since before af (I remember because I thought it was a pregnancy sign 🙄).

So I’m all out of sorts and even though I’m irregular I can usually feel when Ov is around the corner. This month I’m just dumbfounded!

Carley321 · 04/11/2019 19:00

Keeping my 🤞 for you @CNizzle twinges sounds exciting. Any thing today?
2year mark must be hard... I completely lost the plot when we got to 1. Hope your ok 💖.

@Chelonia sorry your out. These irregular cycles are becoming head work aren’t they. I also have no clue what’s going on 😡. So frustrating.

Weathergirl1 · 05/11/2019 04:34

Up in the middle of the night as I can't sleep (haven't slept properly for about 2 months...) and thought I'd do a bit of stalking to see how you're getting on! Tentative congratulations @PixieN that is fantastic news! Crossing everything that they stick!

Hope everyone else is doing okay :-)

Annabe11 · 05/11/2019 09:23

Hi ladies, just been catching up on everyone's journeys... lots of positivity and hope everyone else is hanging in there. really is a mind field.

I had a lap and they found endo on my womb which is likely why I got to 18m of BFNs. They removed it now I'm in my first 2ww and very much feeling AF is on her way but really hoping now I'm clear of endo it happens soon. Consultant said best advice was to 'stop thinking about it' for 6months (Obvs impossible) and if morning happens by then it's IVF. So mixed feelings of frustration and relief 🤷🏼‍♀️

Annabe11 · 05/11/2019 09:25

*mine field! Although mind field kinda works too 😂

Carley321 · 05/11/2019 19:43

Hi @Weathergirl1 how are you? Apart from the poor sleep?

@Annabe11 wow that’s interesting. How are you feeling over it? I am waiting for my lap appointment and feeling really nervous over it. I just hope if there is something, it’s something that can be treated.

It’s so frustrating when people say just forget about it... or stop trying and it’ll happen!! Seriously! The wait seems long but having the endo removed sounds promising 🤞

Weathergirl1 · 05/11/2019 20:03

@Carley321 I'm okay-ish! 37 weeks today and booked for ELCS on Thursday. It all happened rather eventfully the last 3 weeks after a completely uncomplicated pregnancy so far... had just about got myself in a position where I was confident I could deal with hypnobirthing at the birth centre, when the baby decided to start being awkward - first of all I started leaking amniotic fluid, and then it was confirmed as frank breech (which I've been suspecting since early September as it felt like i had a head stuck in my ribs). The only option left to me was ELCS (which is actually fine as it was my 2nd preference after complication free, hands off physiological birth in the midwife unit - I wouldn't have consented to induction even at full term). It's just three weeks sooner than we were expecting so it's been a bit of a mad panic to get everything sorted (and we aren't quite - our bathroom is still half finished!). I'm sure it'll all be okay though Shock

CNizzle · 05/11/2019 21:57

No joy @Carley321. AF appeared bang on cue today 😭. Currently in bed with a hot water bottle& enough naproxen to euthanase an army, after puking with the pain earlier. Feeling very down today. Seems I can't get pregnant and I also can't seem to be able to lose the weight I need to get an ivf referral. "Officially" 2 years (a little more unoficially! But noone told me to be so specific when going to the doctor) and my next ACS appointment is december and ive got 2.5 stone to lose before they'll refer me. I'm gyming 5x a week including 1 with a PT, and counting calories/macros... Even the PT is tearing his hair out (not that he has much!).
Just having a really f-ing low day. Sorry for the pity party. Bloody hormones.

Annabe11 · 05/11/2019 22:01

@Carley321 I feel good actually thank you, took me a couple of weeks to feel normal after the procedure but I'm pleased he found something so it didn't feel like waste of time. He said the endo was on the back of my womb, and may or may not have been affecting fertility, but at least it's removed. He said everything else was in good working order so keep going for 6 months.

It feels like a step forward and reassuring, so try not to feel nervous. Mentally more than anything it's just good to know everything is ok. Time will tell 🙄

CNizzle · 05/11/2019 22:20

@Annabe11 must feel like a relief to have something dealt with tho. I don't think they fully understand why endo affects fertility. What were your symptoms?
I was convinced I had it (debilitatingly sore periods amongst other reasons) but the lap i had earlier in the year came back clear. Hit against a brick wall now with docs and I'm told there's nothing other than birth-control pills that can help me with the agony.

Annabe11 · 06/11/2019 06:42

@CNizzle I've always had quite bad period pain, and in recent months started getting it about a week before period arrives. But always controlled it with paracetamol, and to be honest wouldn't have even gone to the docs unless TTC. The consultant did say the endo may or may not have caused the pain. Some people just have bad periods! I've heard magnesium is quite effective but never actually tried it.

I'm just waiting to see how my next period is, due any day now and already feel a bit of nagging pain so I feel a bit cheated 😆 but it is quite good to know they found something! Apparently the flushing of the tubes can help too so I'm hoping that'll be the case but who knows!

Hang in their ladies!! ✨✨
