Here's our new thread (sorry, not good at coming up with exciting titles!!)

@KCM99 @dia12 when I realised I had a short luteal phase, only 8/9 days, I started taking B6. That worked for DD1 but when ttc DD2 I took clomid, as my period took ages to come back after a tfmr. I didn't think I would need the B6 because of the clomid but after four cycles and no luck I added B6 and got bfp in cycle five. Sadly that ended in mc at ten weeks but I conceived on the next cycle of clomid, for which I also took B6.

So I'd recommend trying B6.

I should say, I used to be quite active on this thread after mc last April and still pop in to see how everyone is doing. DD2 was born in March just after I turned 41.

MaryShelley1818 · 14/08/2019 05:50

BFN this morning...I’d convinced myself the coccyx pain meant something but not even a hint of a line.
I’m so sick of doing this 😢

Russkispy · 14/08/2019 08:22

@MaryShelley1818 so sorry about AF. Sad be kind to yourself Thanks

KCM99 · 14/08/2019 09:32

@MaryShelley1818 so so sorry but there's still time. I don't get a line to 12 dpo sometimes and that's on the the super sensitive tests.

@Dia12 I haven't tried to yet but hear you can get it online without a prescription (from another country). Whilst I ovulate later, my luteal phase is ok. However, I do show symptoms of low progesterone so test really early with super sensitive tests then start supplementing with progesterone at the first hint of a line. I heard vitex is good for supporting progesterone so I took that this month and also here it can bring on earlier ovulation. I also take the grandmother of hormones Pregnenolone 10mg per day.

Thanks @shinyblackdog and I take B6 as part of B complex. At this stage it's a case of what am I NOT taking! Lol

It's overwhelming. For example, I personally feel I need to be on a low dose steroid for my health conditions especially after 3cp's & 1mmc in a row. My cardiologist hasn't gotten around to giving me prednisone yet. So after researching natural corticosteroids, it turns out my fav drink turmeric tea is it. Now I increase the bioavailability of the curcumin by heating it with coconut oil, black pepper, ginger & chilli. Taken to drinking this concoction 2-3 times daily.

I sat down last night and wrote all my 'protocol' down and felt stressed.

Dia12 · 14/08/2019 10:49

Sorry about the bfn @MaryShelley1818 but like @KCM99 says it could be that you need to test in a few days time.

Congrats on your DD2 @shinyblackdog,
I'm taking a fertility multivitamin which contains 50mg B6 - that should be enough?

I've just done a bit of reading about pregnenolone - it's a precursor of dhea but can also be directly converted to progesterone. I'm actually taking 75mg dhea as it is so might consider reducing dhea and adding pregnenolone.

The tumeric cocktail sounds like one hell of a drink, my hat off to your determination!
It definitely is overwhelming, all this information overload and microanalysis of every small detail - exhausting!!

Chatbash72 · 14/08/2019 11:02

Welcome @lorns01 and @MrsMc2019.. congrats on the wedding..
@Russkispy how are you going?
@MaryShelley1818 sorry for your bfn.. it might be too early..
any thoughts on baby aspirin?
I take quite a bit.. pregnacare vits
Omega 3,6,9. Co Enzyme q10 400mg. Vit d spray although by some standards it's not that many.. but considering adding the aspirin... do many of you take it? Is it only for ladies who are doing ivf ?

shinyblackdog · 14/08/2019 12:16

@dia12 I was taking 100mg B6 specifically to extend luteal phase - I saw an improvement the first month I took it, so in that respect you would know quite quickly if it was working for you. Outside that I took ubiquinol and folic acid. @Chatbash72 after my miscarriage the hospital told me to take baby aspirin if I got another bfp, not in preparation for. I'm not sure if there would be any risk in taking it before though.

KCM99 · 14/08/2019 13:52

@Chatbash72 yes I've heard only take when you get a BFP.

Just in case you ladies are taking turmeric or even bromelain (surprisingly) - they are both blood thinners so be careful. Bromelain should only be taken ovulation/implantation for a week Max at a dose of 80-90mg Max. Any more than that can cause you to mc.

KCM99 · 14/08/2019 13:53

@Dia12 yes it's all exhausting. I'm exhausted with it all. Giving it 2 more cycles:

This cycle; vitex
Next cycle and last ditch attempt: clomid.

Then that's me done.

KCM99 · 14/08/2019 14:25

Actually scrub that. Vitex experiment cancelled as of now on day 2. Sat here at my kitchen table feeling like the world has ended. I'm not taking anymore vitex. It's always had this reaction with me.

I've a friend who's pg, 40, NTNP. We both found out we were pg together, hers is now 12 weeks and she's just had her scan. She wants to meet up with me but I'm struggling. I know when she shows me the scan pictures that I will cry.

Had another girl (on a thread) not only post me a pic of her recent 6 week scan, but also one of her holding her scan pic in a frame saying "waiting for my miracle". Now she's wondering why I'm not replying to her.

Today is not a good day.

Dia12 · 14/08/2019 14:40

Sending hugs your way @KCM99 do what you need to do to look after yourself. Cheesy as it sounds but time does heal, I'm taking one day at a time. Thanks

Chatbash72 · 14/08/2019 15:12

Ooh @KCM99 sending big hugs.... let it all out.... sobbing helps the emotions release.. if she's a proper friend she will understand that this is hard for you... you can either distance yourself or you can meet and be honest with her and tell her that you are happy for her but will be finding this hard. If she is a good and understanding friend she will get it, if she's not then perhaps it's a loss of a friend that won't be too hard because you need to keep supportive people around you.. sending lots of love 💕

Russkispy · 14/08/2019 15:30

@Chatbash72 thanks for asking after me. The past 2 days had heavy bleeding with clots. Still managed to go to work yesterday. Today less bleeding. Night sleep is rubbish and have lower back pain. Paracetamol helps. But I'm so over this! Emotionally and physically! Fed up, really. Other than that I'm ok.
@KCM99 sorry you're struggling. Agree with @Chatbash72 re your friend. And let me know when to send Clomid. It's for 2 cycles

KCM99 · 14/08/2019 17:59

Thank you ladies for your comments. I texted her and told her I'm really happy for her but I'm really struggling. She was so nice about it and said she wasn't going to show me her scan unless I'd asked to see it. I sent her a list of medical reasons for cp's as she says I just need to 'relax'. I'm still not sure she's getting it though, as she did suggest reflexology which I'm going to tomorrow anyway. I'm just hypersensitive to people telling me to relax. Me losing babies has nothing to do with my ability to relax. I was very relaxed up until the last loss. Now I'm just a mess. Definitely need to go back onto my meds. But will give it 2 more tries. @Russkispy I don't know how to pm but will log onto my computer to try. Thank you.

Over 40 TTC - lots of baby dust for us...4!
Harriettenightingale · 14/08/2019 18:29

I'm over halfway through my naturally conceived pregnancy now at age 44. For any new members of this group, it can happen!

It's good to hear your story as if I conceived now I would give birth at 44.

I've had back pain which also spread into my pelvic area the last couple of weeks (TWW nearly up) so wouldn't be able to feel any crampy pregnancy symptoms. So although my temp, quite high since presumed ovulation this month) nosedived last night I am trying to be optimistic until AF arrives. I really need AF not to be early as it will throw out my timings with my boyfriend who works abroad most of the time. I am off on holiday to see my mum who lives abroad in a different country tonight (yay) and then going to see my boyfriend on the way home, which has been meticulously planned around pre ovulation and ovulation.

Why is it all so complicated and hard! Apologies for self pity when others have much more to contend with, but I worry my time is almost up :(

KCM99 · 14/08/2019 21:16

@Harriettenightingale I hope your temp goes back up tomorrow. I too will be just turning 44 if I get pg this month.

@Russkispy I pm'd you.

Well tonight I did what everyone recommends as the best ttc tool ~ relaxation ~ aka Home foot spa and will be utilised every day this month lol and if it does work I will be of course mad! lol

Ditched my vitex - they are in the bin. Adverse horrible suicidal reaction. Coming round again now. I never want to experience that craziness again!!

Russkispy · 14/08/2019 21:49

@KCM99 got it and replied Smile

MrsMc2019 · 15/08/2019 07:54

Thank you @KCM99 @Dia12 @Chatbash72 for the wedding congratulations, I’m doing my best to fight the stress but it’s been such an eventful year - we’ve organised our wedding just over six months since we got engaged so as you can imagine I’m tuned to the moon.

@Russkispy I’m so sorry for your loss and how insensitive your friend was. I wish there was something that I could say that would make things better.

I took my AF very late at night this cycle so I’m not sure if I count today as CD8 or 9 but I’m temping and using OPKs (cheap ones just now but I’ll switch to digital around CD12/13). I’m also taking progesterone conception (with an extra folic acid on Drs instructions) and using baby start lubricant.

MrsMc2019 · 15/08/2019 07:55

Not progesterone 🤦🏻‍♀️ - pregnacare

Unicorn9 · 15/08/2019 08:45

Hey I am new to this thread... 40 and TTC. 1 miscarriage, DD, 2 miscarriages since last September (18). So want to be pregnant and for it to work. 5 days before AF and tested but BFN:-( getting so disheartened and don’t know what to do as was completely convinced I was pregnant this month:-(

Russkispy · 15/08/2019 14:27

@MrsMc2019 thank you!
@Unicorn9 welcome to the group. Sorry about your losses and BFN. By maybe it's a bit too early to test. Try again in a couple of days?! Good luck!

lorns01 · 15/08/2019 16:46

Welcome @Unicorn9

Got my OV BFP this morning so will be DTD again tonight & tomorrow. If no luck this month I'll be going to the docs for testing. 7 months of trying with nothing to show for it. Has anyone had OV BFPs but gone for official testing and it's shown you weren't actually OVing? Can that happen?

Dia12 · 15/08/2019 20:23

Hi everyone. Welcome to the group @Unicorn9 - sorry to hear what you've gone through. I also thought this was the month for me, but not so.

I got an OPK positive on CD14 and had EWCM (which is unusually early) but my temps were really low and FF app showed that according to the temp pattern I may have ovulated on CD20 (negative OPK around then, cervix closed and no fertile at all). My period arrived on CD26. So I'm seriously confused about what's going on. I've bought myself som B6, B12 and evening primrose oil to see if this can help. Feel at a loss now.

You can have a positive OPK and still not ovulate @lorns01 - you may find another surge of LH which can occur later as your body attempts to ovulate.
Once you have ovulated your bbt will rise in the days that follow and this spike in temp can confirm ovulation has occurred. If in any doubt just BD every other day!

How are you feeling @KCM99 and @Russkispy ? A bit better I hope?

Russkispy · 15/08/2019 21:54

@Dia12 thank you for asking. Bleeding got lighter yesterday and even ,ignited today, back pain stopped too. Guess, I'm coming to the end of that. Hope so! A follow up scan is on Wednesday.

Dia12 · 15/08/2019 22:12

Glad to hear that, I guess the sooner you can get back to normal the sooner you can start the next steps. Fingers crossed for us all xx
