Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)

Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

I’m only CD6 here so eager to start my opks now 🤞. We’ve also just booked a trip to Amsterdam that may well coincide with fertile week.... I don’t know if this is good or bad 🤔.

Oo symptoms sounding promising @Skyla01.

I honestly wouldn’t care if I had a boy or girl. I work I. A school and just see how different and amazing either is. Although dressing a little would just be lush.

I’ve been ttc since Mayb2018 but didn’t have my first af until the September. So coming upto a year for me. But I have had irregular cycles. I just hope my time is on it’s way.... we’ll i hope all of our time is this cycle actually!

Currently TTC first baby, onto 2nd cycle of trying first month was abit of a hard arsed try so this month we mean business 🤣🤣

We started DTD on cycle day 8 did it then and on day 10 but missed yesterday day 12 I'm hoping it doesn't affect our chances. Been using Clearblue advanced OPK alongside doing this. And got flashing smiley since Friday and flashy again today so been 4 days of flashing I also did a cheap opk today and it's getting dark but not quite there last month I got a positive OPK on cycle day 14 which it tomorrow for this month my CM is also very watery and been like egg whites for the last couple of days s hopefully it's close. Going to DTD tonight and probably for the next following 3 or 4 days if I get static tomorrow. Hopefully as I've still got flashing today I haven't affected my chances by not DTD last night.

Good luck to all of you doing SMEP this month and fingers crossed there is some BFP's at the end of August! ❤️❤️ xx

Welcome @FearnRJ, you sound like you're doing just fine! As long as you get back on plan with the DTD every other day until your static then I'm sure you haven't ruined your chances 😊

Yeah mums.net is playing up this morning. I'm feeling increasingly like AF is on the way :( . If it's coming just wish it would appear rather than leaving me hanging! Or I'd rather have no symptoms.

@Makingawish I would go for around 15 days after positive opk for AF due date. It's hard when all the apps predict differently! I'd suggest not testing again for a few days anyway, it's still quite early for you.

@Carley321 good luck for getting started with smep. Not long to wait!

I had my first high in opk last night and this morning so today will be day 2 of SMEP for me. I nearly didn’t manage it last night as me and DP had a massive row but I managed to turn it around 😉

I get what you mean about having either, I was all for a girl for a very long time but now I’d be just as happy for either one.
Sorry if you’ve already said but I can’t really see, where are you at with your cycle?

@Skyla01 you’re in that horrible wait of thinking is it AF then you put your mind to it being AF because you don’t want to be disappointed by it. But you are still in the running and it sounds promising.

I feel EXHAUSTED again today and I don't know why 😭 I won't test now til Sunday with a FRER.

@OP so happy to see your positive opk finally! Despite the scores looks like it's been positive for a day or two. Get stuck in to DTD, you're nearly done!

Hopefully you both get your BFPs you’re so near to testing I’m excited to find out the result. Try not to stress there isn’t anything more you can do right now and you won’t get a proper answer this early. Keep it up ladies

Ladies please advise me. This ovulating business is driving me a bit loopy. So as you can see I have a very good score on opk and looks as though I’m ovulating but the app says ovulation due in 3 days. So surely if I am on day 2 of SMEP tonight and then I do the last day tomorrow then one for luck on Thursday then I’m not in line with ovulating? It would have missed it?
Am I going or crazy or can someone make some sense of this for me?

@AllHopeAndNoResults I think that most recent one is your peak but your peak usually indicates that ovulation is due to happen in the next 12-36 hours so you want the sperm already there to meet the egg. With that in mind, I'd DTD tonight, tomorrow and Thursday then you should be covered!

@Makingawish so carry on as I am then? I really hope I don’t miss it I’ve worked so bloody hard in the awful heatwave of a month to miss it 😭

Ive felt exhausted all day today, only just peeking up a bit now. Thankfully I was WFH today because I don't know how I'd have coped in the office. Bizarre.

@Makingawish do you usually get tired before AF? Any more symptoms?
I’ve been reading through some threads and loads have been getting BFP through SMEP and I just think of us ladies on here when I see it.

It makes me sad and hopeful at the same time 😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults no, I genuinely don't get any symptoms before AF, only on the day of. AF isn't due for a good few days either. This was like wiped out tired. Was the same Saturday and Sunday too but today was the worst. My stomach felt a bit gassy last night for no reason and it feels a bit tender today but that's it I think.

I've seen a few people mention SMEP on other threads now too! 😬

@AllHopeAndNoResults actually, the one thing I get when AF is due is 1 singular spot a couple of days before but I've got 2 buggars atm and have done for a few days. Don't know if I'm symptom spotting though of course!

@Makingawish this could all be a positive sign for you, but I don’t want to do what most people do and put your hopes up. It annoys me when I read through threads and someone posts ‘I farted today could it be a symptom’ and the op or anyone says ‘oh wow that’s defo a symptom my aunties, sil, cousins farted and she got a BFP a day later so I defo think you could be, how exciting’
🙄 it really does my head in 😂 I think the best form of support is to be realistic, although for you personally if it’s unusual then it’s defo something to look out for! 🤞🤞🤞🤞✨✨✨✨

@Makingawish I weirdly had 2 spots last month. I wrote it in my symptoms diary 😂😂😂

We should really not try and symptom spot because it can be just as frustrating and makes the TWW even longer BUT I know it’s impossible just keep tracking it all!

@AllHopeAndNoResults hahaha I see posts like that and literally just feel like 🤦🏻‍♀️ the back ache at like 3DPO is a classic one where I think 'come on, if you're over 16 you've probably experienced back ache at some point already'

I'm fuming with the spots though, I'm usually very lucky with my skin so there best be a reason for it 😖

Or you get I had sex last night and I think my boobs are really sore, so you think it’s implantation? Then you get a gaggle of comments saying oooh sounds promising 😂😂

I know what you mean about spots, it seems unfair that Mother Nature not only tortures us internally but externally too! It’s mad as well because AF and preggo symptoms are exactly the same!
