Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Again sorry for how long that was!!

@AllHopeAndNoResults I honestly worry for some people's naivety when they get egged on like that! The sore boob one is the worst because they're something which change so much throughout your whole cycle.

I didn't have a period for 4.5 years until March because of the pill I was on so I feel like I'm learning everything from scratch! I didn't really pay any attention to anything prior to this apart from the day I was due on.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 17:21

@Makingawish you may be learning from scratch but you are defo not naive! I’m not saying people are silly because we ALL symptom spot and hope for the best but I think there is a point when you must know, come on that’s a bit ridiculous.

I feel for you because being out of whack for so long must feel like you’re getting your periods all over again!

I think I’ve come to the conclusion this may not be my month, I’ve not been the healthiest or the most active 🤦🏻‍♀️ And I just think it’s best I get into that mindset now. I’m not going to test in TWW and literally just wait AFs arrival. I don’t mean to be a Debbie downer but I just don’t feel lucky this month. Also reading other threads with so much success makes me feel the opposite like it won’t happen for me 😞 I don’t know why I feel like that but I think it’s because my body is doing the same things as it would every month and every month AF has came so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Makingawish · 05/08/2019 17:33

@AllHopeAndNoResults I get where you're coming from but you're not even at the point where conception can have even happened yet so you can't rule yourself either way just yet!

In terms of eating healthily and being active... I'm calling BS tbh because of all the massively overweight and unhealthy people who fall pregnant at the drop of a hat! Of course it helps but I don't think you need to make drastic changes. I'm not very active at all but I've tried to make some slight conscious changes to my eating habits.

Put Debbie back in her box for now and pull your positive pants back up!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 17:48

@Makingawish I know you’re right I do, but it’s just that isn’t it? So many unsuspecting people manage to fall pregnant and here I am having to stick to a plan and take vitamins etc.

I’m just on a downer today 😂 I know we are all in the same boat so I shall lock Debbie away at least until the TWW 😉

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 17:50

@Makingawish what I do have though is, you know when you get that uncomfortable constipation feeling? But it’s onlt on my left side. You know when you’ve been sitting down and you go to stand up and the pain makes you kind of go ahh!
And I’m pretty sure that’s the side I’m ovulating from so it’s making me think maybe it’s blocked? I don’t know!

OP posts:
Makingawish · 05/08/2019 17:51

@AllHopeAndNoResults we're doing it the 'right' way though and we'll know we've done all we should have when we get the BFP's! I couldn't cope if I fell pregnant and hadn't been taking at least FA but that might just be me 🤷‍♀️ "nothing worth having comes easy" 💜

Skyla01 · 05/08/2019 17:54

So I'm afraid AF has rocked up for me. Not surprised as I had thst cramps feeling all day. She wasn't even due until Thursday! That means my luteal phase was only 12 days but I think that's still ok? On the up side with AF being early that's only a 37 day cycle, my shortest so far.

Feeling a bit down but my cycles are getting shorter still. And I'll order some preseed and more cb digital to get started with in a few weeks. Onwards & upwards on to cycle 4... I'll keep my fingers crossed for the rest of you xx

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 18:11

@Makingawish yes I agree! How much FA do you take I take 400mg twice a day.

@Skyla01 oh no I’m sorry to hear that, is it defo AF? I really thought it would happen for you.
I’m glad you are feeling positive about it though and it just means you can get back on it next cycle. Are you going to continue with SMEP? Keep your head up and keep us updated during next cycle. We are all hear to listen and support

OP posts:
Makingawish · 05/08/2019 18:21

Ahh I'm sorry @Skyla01 but it's a positive that it's your shortest cycle! Onwards and upwards.

@AllHopeAndNoResults I take 400mg only once a day because that's all it says to take. How come you're taking double that?

Carley321 · 05/08/2019 18:44

Hello ladies. Yes mumsnet has been annoying today.

I am CD6 @AllHopeAndNoResults. Those are definitely get it on lines 😉. I’d just do as @Makingawish a wish said and carry on.

I would love for more of us to get a bfp 🤞 although I’m such a long way off even getting to ttw... I’m already tired thinking about the next few weeks, so you lot must be done in lol.

@Makingawish I usually get really exhausted before af and before ovulation. I don’t think my body is very good at handling all the hormone surges lol. I know what you meant though everything is a symptom and also a symptom of af it’s such a mind- isn’t it! But if it’s different to what your used to, it could be a good thing 🤞.

@Skyla01 aw it’s horrible waiting isn’t it. Keeping everything crossed for you.

So is it CD8 I would start smep? My cycles are always different but range around 29 -32 last few months.

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 18:52

@Makingawish tbh I don’t know why I take that much, maybe I’ll cut down to 400gm. I read somewhere that your body will just discard any that’s not needed and doesn’t do any harm but actually I might cut it down.
I’ve got really bad ibs type pains on my left side 😭😭😭 I hope it goes before dtd tonight.

@Carley321 mumsnet has been bloody annoying today hasn’t it! If I was you I’d start as early as day 8 and just keep an eye on ovulation. If you are usually regular I’d suggest following what the plan says.

Carley321 · 05/08/2019 18:53

Missed the last page again. Such a drip I swear.

I was on the pill for 15 years @Makingawish and only the last few months I seem to be regulating, and I feel exactly the same. I literally feel every twinge and ache. It’s quite annoying actually.

@AllHopeAndNoResults aw hope you are ok. Don’t feel down just yet. I’ve also seen people who have been trying for ages (me including) and done everything that’s expected, including healthy eating, exercise cutting down on this that and the other with still no luck. Then so and so down the road who eats utter shit, is over weight and a part time alcoholic and gets a bfp without even trying. There’s lots of advice on what you can do to help.... but a lot of it also sais that that advice is in preparation for actually being pregnant.

I don’t know. You just hear so many things but then see so many people of all kinds have children. So who bloody well knows. I have everything crossed for you and with those bfp lines I’m feeling positive for you 😁.

Sorry @Skyla01 but glad you can see a positive. Shorter cycle is defo a plus. Oh and your only 6 days behind me now, so we can go nuts together during now 🤦‍♀️

Makingawish · 05/08/2019 19:07

@Carley321 I started SMEP at CD8 and it's a good job I did because I seem to have ovulated around CD11 so could have easily missed it. 🤞 I haven't!

@AllHopeAndNoResults you might be right about the folic acid but I just bought ones which specify 'one a day' on them to save me figuring it out! Do you have any peppermint tea by any chance? It works wonders when I'm being plagued by IBS! I must admit though, it doesn't happen often now as I have the most boring diet to avoid kick offs 🙈

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 20:02

I can see you guys have posted but when I click on the thread it isn’t showing up the posts. Mumsnet really needs to sort this out

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 20:04

@Makingawish actually yes I have I totally forgot about that! Thanks for reminding me!
On the topic of tea.... did any of you try raspberry leaf tea? It’s supposed to be really good for conception.... I tried it for a while (tastes nothing like raspberry) but I gave up

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 20:10

I just done a quick google and apparently constipation is quite common when ovulating as progesterone rises so although it sounds weird, I am very happy about this if that’s what’s happening because as you know I have low progesterone so clearly somethings working right 🤞

OP posts:
Makingawish · 05/08/2019 20:13

@AllHopeAndNoResults I've heard of raspberry leaf tea but only to encourage labour. I don't really drink hot drinks so would be a difficult one for me to get on board with 🙁

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 20:16

@Makingawish I know what you mean, especially when you don’t usually drink it so it can be a bit of a chore

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 05/08/2019 20:34

@Carley321 yes cd1 here so not far behind you! I think with cycles around 30 days you would be best to start cd8. Last cycle I started cd10 every 3 days then every other from cd16, although my cycles are much longer. If you stick to lots of DTD you can't go too far wrong! Ditto with the symptoms now I'm off the pill- everything was so masked before. It was great!! Also echoing how easy everyone else seems to get pregnant. And here we are poas every 5 sec, lubing up at £1 a pop and sticking legs in the air for half an hour after each DTD and still nothing! Anyway, I'm sure we'll get there in the end.

Best not to listen to me whilst I have AF rage!

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 20:42

@Skyla01 it doesn’t seem fair but you’ve taken one positive away and that’s that you had a shorter cycle.
Next cycle with preseed etc you are in for an even better chance.
I know how you’re feeling and no doubt I’ll get AF this month too so I’m gearing myself up for the same disappointment.
You can’t helo but get down when every Tom dick and Harry is falling pregnant. I have this one friend that really irks me, I’ll say friend loosely, she’s forever getting pregnant and aborting. It makes me so angry! Once, fair enough mistakes happen, but every couple of months. I find it hard not to break down in tears every bloody (excuse the pun) month!
I know this is supposed to be a positive thread so I won’t go on about it but ladies you aren’t alone and any time you need to vent then I’m here x

OP posts:
Skyla01 · 05/08/2019 21:18

@OP I'm going to try and channel the positive energy. A new cycle is a new opportunity, especially with shorter cycles! Looking forward to trying out the preseed too... I think I'll follow the same schedule as last month. We started cd10 so only 9 days to go before we get back on the horse. Might be nice to enjoy some spontaneous DTD before then Grin

Makingawish · 05/08/2019 21:20

@Skyla01 spontaneous DTD?! What's that? 😜

AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 21:25

@Skyla01 you are allowed to wallow for a bit 😂 but just get right back on the horse!
@Makingawish exactly what even is that right now 😂

OP posts:
AllHopeAndNoResults · 05/08/2019 21:25

@Makingawish are you still dtd every other day

OP posts:
Makingawish · 05/08/2019 21:39

@AllHopeAndNoResults no, we haven't DTD since Thursday because I was away and have been exhausted. We completed the plan including the good luck one so 🤷‍♀️ I'll see how I feel tomorrow and maybe get back to it 😂
