Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)

Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Nothing comes in the way of me and pizza so I'll just have to flush it through with water if I get too full. He also needs to hoover my car so I have time for it to settle 😄

@OP that sounds like fertile cm to me! Best get down to DTD! Keep going with your opk though, cm isn't 100% reliable. Sounds like ovulation is close though!

@Makingawish pahahhaa that made me really laugh! The least he can do is hoover your car after all the work you’ve put in this month!

@Skyla01 it does doesn’t it? That’s the plan! If I just keep going now 😂 do you think you lessen the chances dtd every day? I just don’t want to miss it lol! I read somewhere not to do everyday but I feel like every other day isn’t enough 😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults it's our ("dating") anniversary tomorrow so that's probably my present 🙃

Are you going to DTD 3 consecutive days now do you think?

I think I will at least try to do the 3 days. We’ve done it so much this cycle so I hope it’s going to be enough. I think I’m going to aim to do it every other day this whole cycle just in case it’s not ovulating at the moment. I just don’t want to miss it!!!

@OP there's a theory the sperm take time to replenish. That's why every day isn't recommended. But if you guys have the stamina why not! But bear in mind ovulation could still be a few days away so don't burn out just yet!

@AllHopeAndNoResults that was our tactic last month but didn't work for us hence trying SMEP this cycle although there's not exactly that much difference apart from one extra day in between.

Ahh he's just brought flowers and chocolates in with him 😭

@AllHopeAndNoResults did you use any method when conceiving your DS?

He should do but I hope he's remembered. Works well that today was in our plan anyway 😂🙈

@Makingawish I actually didn’t have a method. I done the legs in the air thing. I guess I took for granted how easy it was then.

Men don’t remember anything! Do you instigate sometimes? Feel free to not answer if it’s too personal but I really struggle with instigating intimacy so I have to tell him ahead that we are dtd so he knows to get on with it 😂😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults not too personal at all. I'm the same with being quite shy about it but depending on what mood I'm in I'll instigate it in like a playful way if that makes sense? But since using preseed it's hard to do anything other than say we need to do it so he can help me fill the syringe then not wonder why I'm lay there like a dead weight for 10 minutes beforehand.

@OP I set a bit of a schedule for us, just so we both know what needs doing when! Luckily my OH is pretty relaxed about it, and is more than happy to "perform" whenever necessary.

Hi guys just been reading your stories and please do not judge mine but hear goes so I went for an abortion on the tenth of June 😭( it had to be done) and I got the depo shot on the 17th of June (never had it before) but turned out still there was some stuff left from the abortion so did the pills again that fails .. so I had to go through to the surgical abortion.. so that happened on the 11th of July I had sex 2 weeks ago with my partner and now I'm freaking out abit because I'm having hot flushes loss of appetite and got period pains and sore boobs .. is it possible I could be pregnant again? Please don't judge me because of what I've had to do .. it had to be done thanks

@AllHopeAndNoResults I get that but I think sometimes you just get into a routine where the male initiates it so you've never needed to. There's a few things I suggest which show I'm up for it but without having to actually full on initiate it if that makes sense?

@Faifaye I would take a test if I was you because if you were ovulating when you had sex then there is a chance you could be pregnant if the depo shot takes a while to take effect.

@Faifaye hey, we don’t judge hear, it sounds like you’ve been through a tough time and I’m sorry to hear that.

In terms of if you are pregnant I don’t think we can answer that. When did you ovulate? When is af due? Have you taken any tests? I mean your body could be doing all of that because of recent events. I’d suggest wait until you can test and I hope someone can come along and advise you better

@AllHopeAndNoResults I think women are just a bit more tactile with their approach than men! I'll usually just be like 'are you coming to bed?' And he'll know 🙈

Damn right we all deserve that BFP and celebrations all round!

I know we are way off at the moment, but this thread is filling up quickly and I have no idea how to create a new one and move us all there or add the link here. Does anyone know how? So when it does get full at least we can all stay on track with each other! I never expected to even get this many replies and have such a lovely supportive bunch of ladies. You guys have defo made this cycle more positive for me regardless of this months results!
