Sperm Meets Egg (hopefully)

Hi guys,

I’ve done a few threads on here for ttc but this month I am in a new positive state of mind and I am determined to get that BFP!!

I’ve been to the GP today who said my bloods have come back fine for hormones etc and just that I am very low on vit d (which I knew from last check up and have been taking vitamin tabs twice a day) anyway....

She has said there is nothing to suggest any infertility or that I’m not ovulating and that perhaps I am ovulating and not timing it. I was convinced at this appointment I would be prescribed chlomid, but no she said that I just need to come back in 2 months with a new blood test and see from there...

I came away disheartened and a little bit like I’d given up until I thought hold on she said there was no reason to suggest in infertile or have a problem therefore I am fertile and need to work harder! So I got online ordered loads of OPKs, preseed and a basal thermometer.

I also downloaded Sperm Meets Egg and I am determined this month to follow rule by rule. Sorry that was very long! But I am due AF any minute so will be tracking from about day 8 anybody want to do the journey with me??

Thanks @AllHopeAndNoResults, we followed the plan but didn't dtd last night - too hot and I was knackered. But I'm tracking my temperature so I know I've definitely ovulated at least 3 days before so not too fussed. The timing seemed right, it's out of our hands now.

I do hope I'm wrong but won't be surprised when af arrives :(

@VenusStarr like I keep saying it’s the first cycle of this so it may take another to get the hang of it. It would be absolutely fabulous if you get the desired result but if not just keep trying and bigger and better. As you say you’ve done all you can this month and it sounds as though you’re hopeful you dtd around ovulation so just keep everything crossed as we are for you too!

I know it seems like a coincidence but dreams are nothing when they are up against the facts and the fact is you have defo done as much as you can this month so don’t let it get you down. Here’s hoping AF doesn’t arrive 🤞

I think im getting the hang of this! I know this is a negative result but am I right? I let it develop for 10 mins and then checked? Do OPKs have an evap line and would it show this quick?

@AllHopeAndNoResults no I don’t think you’re being naive at all but I think when following a plan such as this then every other day throughout the cycle doesn’t seem to be affective 🤣 your ovulation stick looks good! Mine look like that and do take a good few minutes to develop.

@Makingawish do you mean OPKs aren’t effective every other day or doing you mean dtd? I would have thought dtd every other day is really effective?

yeah mine took about 10mins to get a result so now I know what I’m doing 😂 I uploaded on to premom too

@AllHopeAndNoResults I mean DTD every other day isn’t effective when on the SMEP just because when you ovulate it’s supposed to be 3 days consecutively and I assume that’s for a reason.

@AllHopeAndNoResults what result did PreMom give you for it?

@Makingawish oh yes I see what you mean. It’s supposed to be 3 days at the beginning one after the other and then every other day.

The app gave me a 0 which of course I knew.

@AllHopeAndNoResults is it? On the site I’ve used it’s DTD every other day from CD8 until ovulation then 3 days on the run, miss a day and then once more. My ‘peak’ was only recorded as 0.45 one month on PreMom so don’t be disheartened.

@Makingawish In my notes I have it as dtd from CD10 miss a day then do one final. Then CD15 opk and dtd every other day BUT I am going from the long cycle perspective.

Maybe I need to read again 😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults she says exactly the same as the website 😄 the only difference I see is when you start depending on if you have a short/longer cycle but she still says it should be every other day. I don’t see any bit about it being every day from when you get a positive OPK though. If it’s just try every other day then that’s no ‘plan’ that’s just normal! 😂

This is the only other thing I see that has 3 days in a row 🤷🏻‍♀️ Have I or you already posted this bit? 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m getting confused now lol

@AllHopeAndNoResults I think it’s just the wording in the book which has complicated things. Basically - CD8 start DTD every other day, CD10 start OPK and continue to DTD every other day until you get your positive then DTD that day plus the next 2. Miss a night then one more. That’s my understanding and how I’m following it 😄 x

@Makingawish yeah that’s how I understood it, was I saying something different or did we get confused with each other 😂

@AllHopeAndNoResults I think you just didn’t originally mention the 3 consecutive days bit but it’s ok, we’re on the same page now so that’s promising 🤣

@Makingawish I’d hope we are otherwise as the OP we are all doomed on this thread 😂

I vaguely followed the plan, basically DTD every other night until positive opk, and then 3 nights in a row. I wasn't too far off. If it doesn't work I'll try harder next month!

@AllHopeAndNoResults imagine 🙈 I’m so glad the weather has cooled down dramatically for DTD tonight and to keep all them little wrigglers alive!
