@mumofbun oh good to know, maybe i've always had these symptoms [cramps & nausea] before AF and never cottoned on as wasn't looking for them Confused. This TTC and the TWW does make one crazy!

mumofbun · 24/07/2019 12:59

@AmIseeingRight Yeah it really messes with your head - plus side is you become really in tune with your body haha

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 13:05

@mrssunshinexxx How long are your cycles normally? They say a normal LP is 12-14 days Mine seems to be 12,13 the last few months . So going by previous months for me if I get to 14 DPO there's a good chance I may get a BFP. 16 days is the longest an LP can be so if you have confirmed O with CB OPKS and you get to 16DPO without AF then you are probably pregnant.

If you did O on the 11th then you are due tomorrow for AF.

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 13:07

@mumofbun Literally any AF symptom can be a pregnancy symptom so your really not out until AF comes. It's frustrating though the 2nd week of the TWW drags. Angry

mrssunshinexxx · 24/07/2019 13:08

@Sophieb15 you asked when I came on last month light spotting started on 26th af started properly on 28th

OP posts:
mumofbun · 24/07/2019 13:12

@Sophieb15 thanks - fingers crossed!!

That's interesting about the 16 day LP too - unless my cycle is really messed up this month then i think i usually have quite a short LP 10-12, is it below 10 that i should worry?

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 13:49

@mrssunshinexxx Is this first month trying I'm getting confused with all the different conversations I'm having haha. How long you off BC and how long are your normal cycles? I may be able to give you an idea then when to test?

@mumofbun Ya they say below 9 you should advise Doctor.

Just some info for all of you on here (for those who haven't seen my previous post on this) if you want to confirm you are Ovulating you can get a progesterone test done in the doctors its a blood test. If it comes back over 30 then you definitely released an egg. You get it done 5-8 days after confirmed O or for those with a bang on 28 day cycle you get it done on CD21.

I got mine tested a few months ago and I was only 5 days past O and it came back very high at 45 so the doctor say without a doubt I was Ovulating. It really put my mind at ease.

May2311 · 24/07/2019 13:54

Hi everyone!

I am fairly new and trying to learn the vast amount of info there is in TTC!

LP? What is this? I got a positive OTK on 15 July ( CD17). I did think I was due AF this Friday but Flo says Wed 31! When would you recommend testing?

Thanks in advance for any help! Sorry I can’t support all of you yet ( I just don’t know much about it all!!) xxxxSmile

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 14:11

@May2311 Welcome to the madness haha.

LP is Luteal Phase after a few months of OPK's you should be able to determine how long yours is. Its the amount of days between O and AF.

If you got a positive OPK on the 15th the you normally don't O until the day after so the 16th if you count 14 days after that then you should be due AF which would be the 30th.

The apps will gather the information each month and determine all this for you so the app is only guessing this month as it has no previous Info.

Which OPK's are you using?

May2311 · 24/07/2019 14:17

@Sophieb15 that makes sense thanks! One step- not sure how reliable they are.

Wishful thinking but if I get to the point that I need to test any recommendations on what tests to use?

How long have you been trying? Is this baby 1?

Tamalama · 24/07/2019 14:34

Hi all, keeping fingers crossed you get your bfps this month! I've already hopped on the August bus but still lurking on here to see how everyone is doing. Going to use opks next month, which brand do you all recommend? The CB digital ones seems popular? Can anyone please post links to what you use?

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 14:36

@May2311 Clearblue 4 day are the best I think. I rang out and had to use a few cheapies so I'm nearly guessing which day I O'd this month.

FRER's is everyones recommendation. But the key thing is to wait until your late to test because a negative is harder to see than AF in my opinion. If you get to next Tuesday without AF arriving if I were you I'd test then the wed morning.

This month 6 due AF sat only managed to DTD once during FW though so odds are against me this month.
#2 took 3 years to have #1 but we weren't actively trying just letting it happen and my OH works night shifts and I work Mon- Fri 9-5 so we can only DTD at the weekends. I've learned an awful lot the last 6 months about TTC

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 14:41

@Tamalama these are the best in my opinion and here is where I get them better value to get a 20 pack. If you were to buy them in a chemist they are double the price.

mrssunshinexxx · 24/07/2019 14:50

@Sophieb15 you are being v kind giving everyone advise x

This is cycle 4 ttc 1 but will be second pregnancy

Last cycle was 26 and the one before that 25

I wish I was pregnant this month but not holding out hope after this morn do you think it's best to wait and see if af comes, in not sure if I can stand the disappointment

OP posts:
Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 14:55

@mrssunshinexxx Talking to all of you is keeping me going this week is dragging. I learned so much the last 6 months I find it helps me to share my knowledge.

You are CD 27 so today. Maybe wait until Friday and if AF doesn't show take a FRER with FMU. You could have Ovulated later especially if you don't have as much EWCM.

Starting to feel a bit queezy again now. Confused

mumofbun · 24/07/2019 15:10

@mrssunshinexxx do you have the settings right on your apps as the pic i found that you'd put up it looked like you were someone who had 30+ day cycles unless i understood wrong?

Hi @May2311 best of luck to you! just wait as long as you can before testing - i've seen a lot of people on these threads being really down about bfns and it must take it's toll!

@Tamalama I've been using ICs combined with the femometer app and thermometer which worked really well - but the ICs are a bit of a pain as you can't use fmu and you have to do them twice a day after long periods of time without peeing...so i would def try the thermometer alone first or the ones @Sophieb15 recommends as they seem easier! The ICs are a bit of a false economy if you take several cycles to work them out like i did!

mrssunshinexxx · 24/07/2019 15:15

@mumofbun ah I don't know I didn't realise I could have it set up wrong ??

OP posts:
mrssunshinexxx · 24/07/2019 15:16

@Sophieb15 thank you x
Ok will see how I go I'm hoping I did ovulate a little later because i dtd 12 13 and 14th x

May2311 · 24/07/2019 15:20

@Sophieb15 thanks! I’m going to order the CB 4 one!

@mumofbun- thanks😊 It feels so nice going through the very confusing process with you all! I am going to do my best to not test till next Wednesday! Downside is I go on my hols on Sunday so won’t want to drink until AF comes!!!

mumofbun · 24/07/2019 15:32

@mrssunshinexxx i think it asks you the average length of your cycle when you first set it up. When i counted the days on the photo you put up it had it as a 34 day cycle which is why it's predicting ovulation as day 17. if you go into cycle and ovulation in the settings and change that to what you think your average is (25/26) then it should adjust everything for you! It will definitely help you target your fertile week a lot more accurately :) I think if you had symptoms the 11th you probably ovulated the 12th which means 12 13 14 are all in fertile week!

@May2311 I wouldn't worry about not drinking unless a doctor has told you not to. Most people on here have said that they don't think it makes any difference as long as you don't go crazy!

mumofbun · 24/07/2019 15:35

@mrssunshinexxx you can also set it to show what CD each date is which i find useful!

mrssunshinexxx · 24/07/2019 15:58

@mumofbun thank you will definitely look into getting that changed just to make sure it's going to be accurate sodo I record my period on first day I get spotting even if it's only a tiny bit as cd1?

OP posts:
mumofbun · 24/07/2019 15:59

@mrssunshinexxx I don't i go for the first day it seems like a proper flow as i can sometimes get spotting 2/3 days before and then it goes again!

Sophieb15 · 24/07/2019 16:36

@mrssunshinexxx I pick the day of my heaviest Flow as CD 1.

@May2311 Ya like @mumofbun said drinking isn't supposed to affect anything until at least 5 weeks.

1 more hour in work can't wait to get home 2 more days of waiting for AF unless it arrived early.

flossy12 · 24/07/2019 16:40

@mumof1hants thank you sweetie ☺️ yeah I'll get it downloaded Bebe the more apps the better! Going in hard next month really want it to work xx
