hair stroke lissie

im sorry must be fcking annoying though

lissie · 25/07/2007 20:25

it really is. not only do i have news every other day about some relative or friend getting pg (the latest is my cousin who only had a baby 2m ago) but now the tv is taunting me too!

OP posts:
dressedupnowheretogo · 25/07/2007 20:27

you poor thing [hairstroke again]

well im sure it'll all go wrong anyway in corrie it always does

lissie · 25/07/2007 20:28

suppose so. im partly hacked off coz its just so unrealistic!

OP posts:
MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 20:35

It couldn't be more unrealistic could it? She was back working after about a fortnight too and didn't appear to be suffering at all! Thats not how it is! It took me at least 6 weeks to even think about work. That's TV for you though I suppose. That whole story line hacks me off all the time!
Trouble is, its like anything, if something has effected you personally, suddenly you become very aware of it happening to other people. I had my first ectopic about a week before Sophie Wessex, but before that, there was very little talk of it.

gothicmama · 25/07/2007 20:46

oh hun be strong easier said than done I know but take care of yourself and your gorgeous ds try and focus on what you have. some people will read this and think it glib but it is from the heart and you know my chequed history when it comes to conception

lissie · 25/07/2007 20:51

Gothic, have tried to text you, how are you? you know where i am x

Mo, i know. people know so little about ep tho and the soaps have almost trivialised it

OP posts:
gothicmama · 25/07/2007 20:59

Hi Lissie, will txt tomorrow I'm fine now it seems to have taken forever to sort out

lissie · 25/07/2007 21:00

well im free most of the hols so we can have another meetup and feed those ducks up again!

seriously, have been thinking of you x

OP posts:
TippiHedren · 25/07/2007 21:01

It is totally stupid and unrealisyic IMO too!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:01

gordan bennet-i know! I was watching with my dh and i tutted and grrrrrr'd and he said 'its only a tv show, you cant get jealous of a tv show............'

grrrrrrrrr!

Really insensitive filming- they could have used it as a storyline to show how hard it is to get pg.look out ladies too because stacey is going to be pg too....after a termination..............

i suppose dh is right..its only tv.

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:01

(stacey from enders)

lissie · 25/07/2007 21:02

really! AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH why cant they show FTC without the woman going nuts and trying to buy babies?

OP posts:
onlyjoking9329 · 25/07/2007 21:02

it is hard when you have an EP, everyone in the world seems to be PG
i had an EP and lost a tube but was PG with twins within 2 months, my girls are 13 now.
wishing you luck.

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:05

Holby City was the worst for ectopics! There was at least one a week, when I was trying to get over 2 in six months! I guess, hospital programmes weren't really the thing to be watching though! Fifi - didn't you used to be part of the staff room gang! How ya doin'?

lissie · 25/07/2007 21:15

i always find the portrayal of pg loss v unrealistic. if a woman mc's she collapses and is rushed to hospital instead of being told to come in 5 days later for a scan and sitting at home with paracetamol and a box of tissues

OP posts:
fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:16

Hi mo!

Im doing good, cronic back ache and shattered!

Been so busy with the bananas my lovely, that im restricitng my times on here (hence being on tonight) I didnt go in to the staff room because i thought everyone would be gone!

Big wave/hugs xx

Holby,corrie,enders,hollyoakes..blimey theres no escape!!!!!!

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:18

lissie- i agree, its always so dramatic, when my bf had a mc she carried on working and i was shocked because i had seen mc's only happen on tv!

(shes a nanny like me, and believe me the only time you can NOT go into work without feeling like youve let them down is if youre paralised.)

MaureenMLove · 25/07/2007 21:24

I suppose it just doesn't make very interesting tv, watching a woman recovering for weeks on end, but I still think Violets EP was particularly badly portrayed.
Fifi - give us a shout if you decide to go to Greenwich park with the boys. Not a lot of minding for me this holiday, but me & dd can meet you anyway. She'll do all the work, she's 11 and loves it! We'll sit in the cafe and drink tea!

toytownmum · 25/07/2007 21:25

Hi Lissie

Followed your story from afar and my heart went out to you. Both tv and real life are sometimes so harsh, I was preg with twins, I found out DT2 had died in the womb and then the next day DT1 was born within about 10mins of nearly passing away (heart rate dropped to 60) at 29 weeks - he is 3 and fine now. The next year my sister fell preg with twin boys and all went well, whilst I love my nephews it was very hard to deal with. Who would have odds two sisters both falling preg with twins

Take care

TTM x x

lissie · 25/07/2007 21:28

thank you ttm x

fifilou · 25/07/2007 21:32

mo- thats sound great!

ok- am off for 2wks now on hols, but will put a poster up in the staff room when we are back and we can meet up. But only if you shave off your beard!

lissie · 26/07/2007 15:47

and the first inkling anyone has in soapland that they're pg is severe ms, but only til they get a BFP
