One dpo today, ovulation confirmed by positive opk. Started taking Fertilty Support for Her this cycle and hit my peak at 200 on Friday morning and experienced a cramping pain on the left side of my abdomen later that evening (first time I’ve ever had ovulation pain before)! Smile Started cycle 5 this month! BBT is also beginning to climb! Anyone starting their ttw?!! Eagerly waiting to see what will become of this month! Halo

Hi Guys,

Honestly I'm baffled with this while thing to be honest!

I've been on the pill for years and this is month 1 TTC. I only took my pill for like 15/16 days in May as I went on holiday to New York and when I came home I was so jet lagged and my other half was away and I just completely forgot so I had my withdrawal bleed like 2 weeks earlier than if I'd have finished the pack (started the 26th may and lasted 6 days which is normal for me)

I downloaded the Flo app and estimated a 28 day cycle as I've no idea what it actually is off the pill. The app said ovulation would be the 8th of June but I got 9 days of high fertility on the clear blue ovulation test and I was about to give up but when I used the last one this Thursday I finally got peak fertility. We DTD weds night and Friday morning and sorry about the tmi but my nipples are soooo sore today. I googled it and apparently it could be due to ovulation but this genuinely has never happened in my life. So now I've no idea if I actually ovulated last week or Friday this week and not a clue when my period should be due and when I should test. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Keeping my fingers crossed for all you ladies xxx

Mymedusa24 · 17/06/2019 01:58

@Hopeful2020 Hopefully it is for us! I’ve never had cramps (plus the very small spot of blood) like I’ve had through this cycle, usually my cramps are pms related and a few days before AF! Now we shall wait and see 😃 When are you expecting AF? That’s too funny though! 🤣

@Keanubelieves I’m with ya now 😂 I’ve always heard it referred to as watery cm, but oh yes I’ve definitely had a lot of ‘EWCM’ this cycle! grin I don’t know what’s going on down there now though! But I’ve never paid much attention to my CM to be honest! Lol. This is my first cycle trying to track my CM and my cervical position.

@lonelyonee I have decided to wait! Excited about it too! (lol) 😀 AF is due on Saturday!
Those signs sound hopeful though! 🙂
It’s hard not to get excited!!!

@LA89 I would stick to your first ovulation date (precisely when you peaked as you mentioned), and maybe test at 14 DPO since you’re going with a 28 day cycle. If test results in a BFN then I would wait another week! If there is still no sign of AF at CD 35, test again! That way you’re factoring in both possible ovulation dates and giving yourself some wiggle room in the event that your cycle goes longer than 28 days! Hope this helps! Smile

But sorry guys, for some reason I just saw both of your posts!

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me joining? Never been on a chat before, but thought it might be nice to go through this with someone else!

It's my second month of TTC #2, and I'm now in my 2WW (7dpo).

Negative FRER yesterday- too early I know 🙈 but hey- Father's Day so tried my luck!). Anyone else constantly testing?! Or just me lol.

Thanks all :)

Hopeful2020 · 17/06/2019 09:04

10 dpo here now, period due Fri/Saturday.
Still got a bit of bloody smears, pinkish red yesterday, brownish today, only when I wipe. Cramping has eased off completely. Really hoping it's implantation & not a sneaky early period - usually I get cramps the day before and the first day when it starts, and it comes on and gets going pretty fast, no dribbly starts. The timing of it is promising though.
No much in terms of other symptoms, I might have felt a bit sick & gaggy yesterday & today, but I could just be making myself think it!
Not long to wait, but desperate to get testing! Will try and hold out....

Hope you're all ok and had a good weekend. Hoping the end is in sight for some of us now, and we can soon find out for sure either way! Xx

keanubelieves · 17/06/2019 10:40

af due for me next tues so even tho I don't actually know when I ov'd I won't be testing until at least then, and then only if it's late (altho can be anywhere from 28-35 days to keep me on my toes, normally 31-32 tho)

good luck to all of you x

Mymedusa24 · 17/06/2019 12:14

@JenDaw Welcome! We both tested on Father’s Day, 😂 but I have decided to wait it out now!!! Everyone else is trying to wait too!

9 DPO today! Starting to have a mild pain very deep in the middle of my abdomen, (started yesterday evening) maybe my uterus? Back is getting super achy too!

@Hopeful2020 We did, hope you have a good weekend too! 🙂 And we’re definitely all getting closer! 😃 Fingers crossed for us all!

Hopeful2020 · 17/06/2019 12:55

Just one day at a time, we're getting there, nothing like wishing your life away eh?! 😂

I think waiting is the way to go, I know I can go mad with testing, and I find personally that frantic early testing is more damaging as I feel like it just drags out the disappointment.
Also if/when I do get lucky 🤞 I want a nice clear positive not having to squint and wonder if you're seeing things!!

I feel quite achey low down in my back and at the front too today, more ache than cramps I think. And some nice sicky burps earlier - got to be the only time when a sicky burp can be a good thing!

Mymedusa24 · 17/06/2019 13:10

@Hopeful2020 🤣

An ache is a better word for it, I didn’t want to use the word cramp either. But woo! Got a symptom buddy! 😆 haha

lonelyonee · 17/06/2019 13:53

@Mymedusa24 AF is also due Saturday for me, so may test that morning if she hasn't reared her ugly head by then (first wee of the day and all that). So now we wait eh.
@LA89 it's really hard to figure out what's normal when you come off the pill tbf, for me I had been on it so long I didn't know what normal signs my body would give during my cycle 🤷🏼‍♀️ but the more cycles you go through the more it should level out (hopefully you'll get a BFP and won't have to track the symptoms of ovulation/pregnancy) 🤞🏻
Saw our 6 week old niece at the weekend & I'm just desperate for this to be the cycle now! She's absolutely gorgeous 🥰

JenDaw · 17/06/2019 14:31

Thanks for the welcome @Mymedusa24 😊

I know- really must try and wait it out now!

Hear what you're saying @Hopeful2020, just so tempting as I got a huge pack of cheapies from amazon.

Fingers crossed for everyone during the final week xx

LA89 · 17/06/2019 14:32

@lonelyonee

It's been such a pain trying to track this month. I was just going to go off the Flo app ovulation date as after 9 high fertility but no peak on the clear blue ovulation test I just sort of assumed id missed the oh surge and probably ovulated when the Flo app predicted. With that in mind I was planning to test at the end of this week as that would be 2 weeks after ovulation according to the app. But then I got peak fertility on Thursday morning 5 days after the predicted one on the Flo app. So now my 2 week wait has been extended to 3 bloody weeks.

I was really hoping to find out end of this week too as I'm going away to Glasgow with friends this weekend and obviously if I'm pregnant I don't want to drink but if I'm not I want to be able to drink with my friends. I had it all planned out that I'd just tell them if I was pregnant as although it's super early they're my best mates so would tell them regardless as I'd want them to know if anything went wrong. But I don't want to not drink and tell them were trying as it's just added pressure. So I'm thinking I might try a first response test Friday morning just in case. I'm not really expecting to see anything as that'll only be like 7 or 8 days past ovulation which I think is too early but think I'll give it a whirl as if there's even the faintest line I definitely won't risk drinking.

It's only cycle one and I'm already stressed to death over this 😂

Hopeful2020 · 17/06/2019 14:40

@Mymedusa24
Yay definitely good to have someone to symptom spot with, we're pretty much on the same day too! It's all settled down for me now so pretty sure it wasn't period, aching has gone now so hoping something has snuggled in nice!

@lonelyonee
There's a few of us due at the weekend so all in the same situation and waiting waiting waiting it out... Home stretch now though!

Think positive ladies, in all senses of the word! It will happen, whether this time or next time & it's all part of the journey. But it's tough when you want it so badly! This will be my last so I want to enjoy it & fully appreciate it.

Mymedusa24 · 17/06/2019 15:15

@Hopeful2020 We are! Lol, and that’s awesome! Fingers crossed for you! 😃
I’m feeling more and more nauseous.

@Lonelyonee I was thinking of testing that morning too!

Sounds like a lot of us will be testing this weekend!!!

OP posts:
Hopeful2020 · 17/06/2019 15:58

@LA89
Sounds tricky, it can be such a pain to track! I've been tracking for awhile now, even before we started ttc, just to get some data & a feel for it. My cycles were like clockwork, with ovulation confirmed by temperature and lh tests. As soon as we started trying it all went everywhere, with dates being out and difficulty trying to pinpoint ovulation. This time I had ewcm one day, then a positive LH test, then ovulation confirmed by temperature, but all on different days over a 4 day window! So it's hard to tell.
Just have sex every other day in that week and it's bound to hit, hopefully!

A test before you go sounds good, but if negative just be cautious and maybe have a few drinks but not go mad (difficult in Glasgow though!) Or you could go for alcohol free options, and just pretend. Ok as long as you don't get caught in a round!

@Mymedusa24
Glad to hear you're feeling nauseous, haha, could be promising! I don't think I am, just a bit burpy.
I have cheap Amazon ones too so very tempted. Trouble is that if they're cheap ones, I won't believe them if they're negative if test early, but they probably won't be sensitive enough to pick it up even if I am!
Doesn't stop me wanting to do one today though, and tomorrow, and the next day! Arghh! Xx

keanubelieves · 17/06/2019 15:59

Agree, enjoy it! It can feel so full on when u want it so much but try to relax and not get too obsessed swept up in worrying about it, hopefully it'll happen and when it does it'll be the perfect time for u. i remember the first time we ttc i was so obsessed and after the 1st month of completely doing my own head in i relaxed and said i wasn't going to do it anymore. It took 3 months then but i was definitely more chilled for the 2nd two!

i've gone back thru my dates and am fairly sure now i ov'd on Thurs which makes me 5dpo (which also makes sense for my cycle length as my luteal phase is usually about 12-13 days). not feeling anything at all apart from sore boobs, feeling really deflated tbh and my heart doesn't feel as into it as it did first time round, perhaps becuase I feel like its unlikely now i'm older. also probs just hormones making me feel down Wink

Good luck everyone! Will cross fingers for some bfps from this weekend onwards x

keanubelieves · 17/06/2019 17:24

Ooh... some cramps and backache here! Will ignore that its probably just a full bladder Grin

MummyMilla · 17/06/2019 17:41

Hi all, just wanted to check back in to say that I still have sore boobs....yay! I keep on randomly prodding them like a crazy women, just to check! Grin

Cramps are also progressing to more of a dull ache...has remained much more on my left hand side.

AF is due on Sunday. We're off to a big party on Sat night and so I think I am going to try and hold off testing until Sat am before we go. I don't have any tests in the house so I'll try and hold off until then! I am really am going to be GUTTED if these signs don't mean I'm pg.

LA89 · 17/06/2019 17:45

@Hopeful2020

Yeah I think I'll definitely test Friday morning and if it's positive definitely won't drink. Then if it's negative I might have 1 half of cider so as not to raise suspicion but then pretend I've gone straight onto spirits but actually just order coke or lemonade as they'll never know the difference!

Mymedusa24 · 17/06/2019 18:45

@Hopeful2020 I hope it is! 🤣 I had something to eat, thinking it would go away afterwards, but nope, the nausea is still hanging out with me! That’s funny though! 😁 Y’all better stop it! 😝 Making me want to test too and my clinical guard supposedly allows you to test 5 days early which means I could tomorrow!!! Gah.

@MummyMilla Just had a big laugh out loud! 😅 Fingers crossed for you too though!! 🙂

OP posts:
mummy21l · 17/06/2019 18:48

I'm also due on Saturday...already done a few tests (couldn't help it - plus the Father’s Day thing like a few of you have said!) of course they were negative so now convinced myself it's not happening this month.

Had kind of convinced myself I might get preg straight away as I've been off the pill since feb, now wishing we'd started trying sooner!

Told myself this is number 2 ttc so won't get stressed about it as already got one, but as soon as you decide that's it go for it something seems to change!?

Why are women made to be so impatient when we are the ones who have to go through this 😱 if we were men we'd probs get to 6 months before even knowing!!

Have been trying to spot ovulation symptoms since I came off the pill but don't seem to notice much.

A week last Saturday I got really sickly after being in the car, and last Friday I woke up and felt sicky the whole day. But these episodes are too far apart to mean anything. I did have quite a bad bug at the beginning of the cycle, maybe this has prevented me ovulating.

Might start using some ovulation sticks next month, ordered a load from amazon, anyone think they do help? This cycle we've pretty much DTD every 2-3 days

lonelyonee · 17/06/2019 19:07

@JenDaw welcome! It's nice to have someone to talk to who's going through the same thing. My friends (all 3 of them 😂) aren't ready to ttc yet and don't have any kids already so 🙁🤷🏼‍♀️
@Hopeful2020 sounds like you're on the same cycle day as me & @Mymedusa24 just a few more days ladies then we will know either way, fingers mega crossed 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
@LA89 it's a minefield honestly! I've been using Ovia & not done any ovulation tests as of yet, I just dtd as much as possible all around my fertile window and afterwards also I case I ovulated later than predicted. Ah sounds lovely! Yeah just test that morning, try to use one that is really sensitive, I think first response maybe? That's clever with the drinks 😉
@keanubelieves I'm trying to relax and not symptom spot but it's so hard, I just want it to happen now. I'm really indecisive so I feel like now I've made the decision to do this it needs to happen NOW 😂
@MummyMilla looks like there's a few of us testing Saturday morning! Eeeeeeeeeee 🙉

Update- still ridiculously thirsty and had another 2 dizzy spells today. A bit of an ache also but nothing major and no spotting or anything as of yet. Possibly a heightened sense of smell? OH reckons I'm being over dramatic about the kittens litter tray smelling but it's like it's right up my nose atm 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hopeful2020 · 17/06/2019 20:02

It's such a minefield!
I'm now having doubts today and keep going back over through my dates like a mad woman, obsessing over it all!
I don't want to test yet cos I don't want it to be negative!
Trying not to go crazy symptom spotting, but I'm now on 10 dpo which is typically when symptoms would tail off if it is just premenstrual stuff...
It's really nice to have this group though to share this madness and not be the only one who is like this! Everyone else seems to be all cool about it, like we just did it randomly and got pregnant in a few months, no big deal!
Really hoping cramping & spotting is implantation as the timing would be right. Guess if it is then other symptoms might pick up rather than tail off.
I have felt a bit gassy, also thirsty and so weeing a lot (not on sticks though!)
Going insane, don't know how I'll get through another week!! 😱

mummy21l · 17/06/2019 20:26

@Hopeful2020 I feel the same.

Is this your first? I remember feeling like this first time round, told myself I wouldn't get like that again but once you've got something in your mind it's so hard!

I feel like I've just put so much thought into when we start trying etc that now we can I just want it to happen! Last time I ended up chilling out a bit and went on holiday and it happened which is why I feel a bit reluctant to start tracking etc but on the other hand I don't want to loose out on time!

I go away in 5 weeks so maybe I'm destined to do the same!

Hopeful2020 · 17/06/2019 21:11

@mummy21l
Embarrassingly no ☺️ we're ttc baby 3!
In my defence, my first was a happy accident, then number 2 was in the plan but not tried for at that exact time. So I've never ttc before so this is all new. I have been tracking which has been helpful and useful and interesting, even when not trying just for period/cycle knowledge. But now I want it to happen!
Tbh I was a bit calmer this time, until a few days ago!
Fingers crossed for you, hopefully you'll bring back a little holiday souvenir!! X
