@MrsEG glad you had an awesome day and excellent news re: the double flake. It's only right on your birthday! Do you know what is happening on the Thursday at the Fertility MOT? Thanks for the reassurance re: cramps. I was doing so well ignoring everything until they started and now of course I'm back to studying countdowntopregnancy.co.uk and considering testing tomorrow which is just silly, as like you, I can't bear BFNs.

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 18:31

@MrsEG sounds like a lovely birthday!

Anyone else here planning to tell people immediately on getting their BFP? For us, loads of people know we're trying, with the surgery and injections and whatnot. Also, if things were to go wrong, I'd rather have the support of people who knew.

At this point I'm not sure I even have the energy for secrecy!

Glad to hear you're feeling optimistic @Dollywilde. Definitely have had those conflicting feelings too.

Sod's law it'll be timed for your holiday @Lozzlepop - hoping not though!

Good luck testing on Friday @FlapJackered

@MrsEG nice work on the double flake! Well deserved after that walk. Agree with you and @purplefig - hate seeing a BFN.

Have just read an article on Fertility Friend which said something which horrified me (see attached pic) Maybe you ladies are aware, but I do kegels after sex to try and help the swimmers up. Stopping those from now on!

@ValidUser I think some of the people who know we're trying. Especially as next time we're seeing them is for a boozy weekend away and there will be no hiding.

purplefig · 03/06/2019 18:44

@ValidUser I hear ya! I'm going to wait a week or so and then tell my parents but otherwise keep it on the down low until 12 week scan. We haven't told anyone we're trying and tbh the only people I'd want to support me through anything going wrong is my husband and my parents. I love my best friend dearly, but she lives miles away and somehow I don't think text/phone support would cut it. Oh god....didn't even realised I've already planned this Grin . C'mooooon BFPs!!!!

MrsEG · 03/06/2019 18:53

@ValidUser Only immediate family. We told parents and siblings each time, who were all a complete godsend when the worst then happened. I’m not sure I’d have wanted to be letting every man and his dog know about that though at the time, so we were glad it was just family at that stage. Next time we’ve agreed to keep it to ourselves until we (hopefully!) get to that successful 7-week scan, which I know now we’re entitled to. I think it’s incredibly personal though to each individual - I have a friend who told absolutely no one until 20 weeks!!

@purplefig So on a Thursday it’s the below tests:

Your egg reserve - looking at the follicle (developing egg) count and ovary volume.

The health of your uterus, endometrium (womb lining), ovaries and follicles by examining the blood flow to each.

Polyps, fibroids & cysts or other factors that could be affecting implantation or causing miscarriages.

All sounds very official and scary haha. I just hope we get SOME kind of answer from it.

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 19:09

@MrsEG all that was done for me in one simple internal ultrasound. Hope you get some answers. X

@starkid I haven't read any thing about B6 but have been reading lost about Maca root so I've dragged mine out from the back of the cupboard and am going to mix it in my morning decaf coffee. About to go and read up on B6 now.
I also read a study that when men took 1000mg if vit C it increased the quality and motility of their sperm massively. So the mister is going to double is daily orange intake! 😆🤞🏼

@Lozzlepop I admire your strength of not testing but understand that AF is somewhat better than that stark white line of a bfn. When is AF due for you again?

Fivebyfive2 · 03/06/2019 19:22

@Validuser, if it is any help, the first time we told family and very close friends, who knew we were trying. My work ladies all cottoned on as well, especially when I had to start going for scans etc. But all were such good support when it went wrong (a few mil issues, but what can ya do?!) This time we've only told the parents & my bro and sil (who I work with, so helps cover for when needed, with questions etc!) I also told my best friend who has had recurrent miscarriages, as she is very wise and great support. It does feel like it's going quicker this time, with less people knowing and asking about it all the time! But also nice to have those closest to us knowing 🙂 You'll do what feels right for you guys when it happens xxxx

PippaPug · 03/06/2019 19:28

@MrsEG Happy Birthday! Hope you had a lovely day and a double flake sounds wonderful! X

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 19:29

Thanks @Fivebyfive2. It's all so individual really, isn't it?

I love this group so much. And I say that with no coffee or wine, but lots of Brazil nuts in my system.

Lozzlepop · 03/06/2019 19:36

@Dollywilde sorry to hear you were feeling down when AF arrived but onwards and upwards to the next cycle Hun!!

@purplefig I don’t temp so just going by my OPK results on Glow which had OV down as CD23 I just wish she would hurry up already

@FlapJackered it’s probably Sod’s law huh it will happen the second I get off the plane ☺️ We are off to Majorca on Wednesday for a week of relaxation 💃 I will have everything crossed for good news for you! As long as the fish has been frozen beforehand then sushi is safe to eat so a reputable restaurant should be ok!

@MrsEG sounds like a fab birthday, an extra flake huh 😉 well you do need one for each scoop of ice cream! I might test tomorrow out of curiosity if she hasn’t shown up!

@ValidUser we didn’t tell anyone last time however if we are lucky enough to catch again then I probably would tell my closet friends and family so they are there as a support network should anything go wrong.

@dahlia123 I know right I’ll be moaning she’s not here then she’ll arrive and I’ll moan more haha! Thanks for sharing the article I wasn’t aware of this so good to know!

@Kiza according to Glow she is due today but so far no sign 😒

Kiza · 03/06/2019 19:45

@Lozzlepop I can't help but say it's sound promising for you.... 🤞🏼🤞🏼

MrsEG · 03/06/2019 19:51

@ValidUser Thank you, I really really hope so! I’m actually quite excited about it - with my other two losses we were just left to it, it’s nice to know I’m getting some help now :)

@Fivebyfive2 Just remembered it was your booking in appt today! How did it go? Did you ask about the early scan?

TeeDees · 03/06/2019 19:53

Hello everyone, just checking to see if anyone else can see a line?

Fivebyfive2 · 03/06/2019 20:08

@Validuser, I loooove this thread, it's why I'm still showing up like a bad penny 😃

@MrsEG, it was good thanks hun! Pretty much the same as before, except obviously went through what happened with the miscarriage. She seemed very positive about it all though, said it's fine to go on holiday on 20th 🙂. Hospital won't do an early scan, but she was very encouraging about me having a private one, especially as I'm now past the 8 week mark. We've found a place we like the look of, gonna book one for this weekend, I'll be 9 weeks just about. If we weren't going away I probably wouldn't have one, but will be good to know if all is ok before we go! I think dh really wants one too, so he can see for himself if that makes sense?? Xxx

MrsEG · 03/06/2019 20:10

@Fivebyfive2 I think that sounds like a fab idea, how exciting!! Yes, hospital have told me scans before 7 weeks are actually really not reassuring as implantation times can vary so much that you often can’t see much before then and it just adds to the stress! So I think 9 weeks is perfect, you’ll get to see lots I’m sure!! Do let us know how it goes!!

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 20:17

@TeeDees I don't see any picture!

MrsLBear · 03/06/2019 21:16

Happy birthday @MrsEG!! Hope you've had a lovely day.

LokiCat · 03/06/2019 21:35

@ValidUser we told my parents and best friends straight away and DH told his best friend. We would have told his parents but they were abroad and then I had the mc. I'm glad I told people as they were amazing support during the mc and I'll probably do the same next time. I think DH would rather not tell anyone, though. He's completely different to me and keeps everything to himself, whereas I can't hold something in for too long! 😂

@MrsEG sounds like you had a great birthday! I haven't had a 99 flake in ages. May keep an ear out for the ice cream van next time!

@Lozzlepop hope she shows up tomorrow! Not at all jealous of your relaxing holiday!!

@Dollywilde sorry you had an upsetting weekend. Of course you can be over the moon for someone yet feel some sadness for yourself. I really hope cycle 3 is the one for you ❤️

@FlapJackered 3 parties in London sounds brilliant! Fingers crossed for Friday.

Looks like we have a few testing/waiting towards the end of this week. Everything crossed for you all.

I have to say I agree, I love this group 😊😊

DH managed some energy for some sexing earlier, bless him. Not enough to be on top so he suggested another flip after we finished but I didn't want to risk.. mess everywhere 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 21:44

Aah @LokiCat, TTC sex is so romantic. 😂

3dpo and my 2ww is DRAGGING! 😱

OP posts:
LokiCat · 03/06/2019 21:58

@ValidUser ha, tell me about it! Who said romance is dead 😂

I'm with you on tww dragging! If I take my OPK peak as ovulation day, I'm only 2dpo 😩
I imagine seeing the trigger positives makes you want the actual bfp to come faster!

ValidUser · 03/06/2019 22:00

@LokiCat I really want a BFP more than anything in the world, but I'd genuinely be surprised to see a real one!

Not feeling negative as such, but the routine of trying and not conceiving is just so... familiar.

OP posts:
ValidUser · 03/06/2019 22:01

We'll probably test around the same time this month!

OP posts:
LokiCat · 03/06/2019 22:10

@ValidUser I completely understand. When I got my previous bfp I was so shocked and it didn't hit me until a few days down the line that it was actually real. I'd assumed I'd always cry when I finally got it but nothing because I was so surprised! Rather seeing a bfn doesn't seem to shock me. As you say, it's normal to me now.

Just hope these two weeks fly by! AF due on 15th.
