TTC for 1 year +

Does anyone want to join?

I have been TTC #1 for 15 months and had a MC at 8 weeks in February.
I am off to the GP tomorrow to try and get a referral to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Tried every trick and tip and old wives tale in the book to get a bfp!
It would be good to have a group of longer term ttcers to chat to.

@FlapJackered I agree to agree, a break from here doesn't change anything. I decided to go with Clomid again, starting it today. I also won't be taking progesterone "not orally" anymore as it is affecting my AF in a very odd and tmi way and while Dr Google says it's normal, I'm gonna take a hard pass. I'll have to take 300mg as 200mg wasn't doing its job. I really don't like the side effects though but I suppose it's worth it. Also adding myo-inositol to my medicine pile.

Those who say "you just gotta relax"... I can't stand it. Or "it'll happen when you're ready". Oh yeah, when might that be? Because I'm sure that Ebola nurse was ready, a fifteen year old girl was definitely ready, and every woman who got an abortion was for sure ready. Gah!

What CD are you?

MrsChicken89 · 16/06/2019 15:22

I'm cd12 today, we DTD on day 8 and 12, and hopefully a few more times over the next few days.

This morning we popped round to the father in laws, gave him a card and he read it out "to dad and doggy grandad" MIL looked out me with her mouth open and said "he's going to be a grandad" 😲 I had to quickly correct her through laughing that he's a doggy grandad haha. Look on her face. 😂

FlapJackered · 16/06/2019 21:47

@KatBeCool I am on CD9 and trying Agnus castus this cycle which I am worried may be a bad decision and just hope it doesn't completely mess up my cycle. There seem to be very mixed reviews about it online.
Fingers crossed for the clomid this cycle. I have a feeling I might be joining you on it in a month or so!

@MrsChicken89 oh no! The MIL's are always so quick to jump the gun!

Hello ladies. I’m doing quite well on cutting down on my ttc screentime. I think it’s helping as I had a pos OPK today at CD16 so I’m Hoping my cycles are getting more regular 🤔.

I go to a mindfulness class @FlapJackered I like the thought of it but struggle to switch off my busy mind. 🙈.

A little bit of weird but maybe helpful or maybe complete coincidence ..... I have been taking omega vitamins this cycle and I have had much more ewcm than usual. I’m hoping that helps lol 🤞.

Hope you are all holding up in this ttc madness 💗

PineappleC · 19/06/2019 14:41

Pre-AF spotting for me once again today (cd23) 😭😭 so i am off to my GP just now for the first time. Hoping they are as helpful with this as they have been with anything else I've asked them (not being sarcastic, they've been a really good GP!) 🤞🤞

Broodyaf · 19/06/2019 14:59

Hey @PineappleC
I recognise your username... I think we were on a few of the buses together a few months back?
I see you're having no joy either 😏
This TTC craic is hard bloody work!!

PineappleC · 19/06/2019 17:34

Ah hey @broodyaf yes I recognise you too! Sorry you're still TTC too, but this group is a really good one for support 😊

Went to the GP and he was really reassuring. He said there's nothing of concern from what I told him (even the short cycles and 10 day luteal phase) and has given me forms for the day 3 and 21 (or 17 in my case 🙄) bloods that many of you seem to have had. I seem to be having the hormonal ones, full blood count and rubella at day 3...is that the norm? 🤷‍♀️

Also, this might just be him trying to reassure me but he said most people he seems to see at the surgery once pregnant either conceive within 6-8weeks, or otherwise 12-18 months. Weird, but if that's true I don't feel too bad!!

He also said optimum DTD is every 48-72hrs. Makes me think we could've been going at it too hard!! 😂

Tryingforkittens · 20/06/2019 07:08

@PineappleC I'm glad you have seen your doctor and he put your mind at rest a bit. I think we are in a similar situation, my pre AF spotting started on day 23 yesterday! How long are your cycles? I had my day 21 day test yesterday as advised by my Doctor. She didn't say anything about the spotting she just said to get the tests... I'm expecting to have my day 3 next week as I also have a 10 day leutal phase. I don't think I have rubella on my day 3, it's mostly hormones.

PineappleC · 21/06/2019 18:22

@tryingforkittens yes snap with the 10 day luteal phase. My cycles are normally pretty short too - 24-25 days on average. It's a bit crappy but the doc was reassuring. I hope you don't end up "needing" the day 3s next week 😊

Saying that though, my AF hasn't materialised yet, the spotting completely stopped and I now feel very bloated and nauseous. Trying not to overthink it, but I'm now on cd26 which is unusual for me. I think I'll give it til Sunday before testing, as my cycles are never more than 27 days. Sods law the one time I want my period to get here so i can start these blood tests is the only time it's late!!

Tryingforkittens · 22/06/2019 09:07

@PineappleC that sounds promising!! I'm keeping an eye out for your test update! I'm on 4th day of spotting so I'm fairly sure I'll be doing my day 3s next week! I don't mind, at least i'm having the tests.

queenqueenqueen · 25/06/2019 13:21

Another month out for me 😔
Starting to just think this won't happen for me. 😔

Broodyaf · 25/06/2019 13:47

Ah sorry to hear that @queenqueenqueen

Have you been to GP yet?
My AF is due tomoro 🙄

queenqueenqueen · 25/06/2019 14:15

Yes, they have run some tests which have all been ok. But that was due to mid cycle bleeding. I had a MC last year.

Tryingforkittens · 26/06/2019 12:40

So in the end I didn't need my day 3 blood tests... My spotting started last week like normal but stopped instead of AF coming. I got my positive this morning!!

Broodyaf · 26/06/2019 13:36

Ah, massive congratulations @Tryingforkittens!!! This is fab news! May u have a lovely pregnancy 🤰 ❤️

My AF just arrived, bang on time - I am officially sooooo f**ked off with this whole TTC carry on! 20 months and still nada 😰
I think I'm gonna give it a complete break until we get called to fertility clinic Octoberish

Tryingforkittens · 26/06/2019 18:27

@Broodyaf thank you 😊❤

I'm sure you will get your time. I was feeling like it wasn't happening and it did..

FlapJackered · 26/06/2019 21:49

Congratulations @Tryingforkittens !! 🎉🎉🎉 That is fantastic news! What do you think made the difference this cycle?

OP posts:
Tryingforkittens · 27/06/2019 07:25

@FlapJackered Thanks! I can't really put my finger on anything specific. DH and I are both about 2 months into a health kick, we have really cut back on alcohol and I have cut down massively on sugar. I was also reading it starts with the egg and I have put a couple of things into practise. But mainly I was so chilled about TTC this month because I knew I was getting tests and so I wasn't worried about it. I just wanted my test results. So maybe I was more relaxed too.

RosettaR · 27/06/2019 08:15

I was wondering if I could join this thread. I'm on cycle 12 now, without even a late AF the whole time. We're having some private tests this month. I'm feeling really down about it, I think until AF arrived I was still hoping I might get my BFP this month and not have to go through with all the tests.

Congratulations @Tryingforkittens. Its lovely to see someone trying this long have some success!

PineappleC · 27/06/2019 09:21

Ah congratulations @Tryingforkittens! That's great news and wishing you a healthy and happy 9 months 😊 This has been a lucky thread for the past couple of months!

Welcome @RosettaR , and I hope you end up nor needing the tests too in the end 😊

Unfortunately my spotting did stop completely...but then late on Sunday AF arrived fairly heavily, so I think this may have been a chemical. I finally understand why ppl who miscarry get annoyed with comments like "At least you can get pregnant" because I can't help thinking that it's taken this long to get over one hurdle...only to fall at the very next one 😥 But anyway, I've now done my day 3 tests and DH has done his, so we will just wait now 🤞🤞

RosettaR · 27/06/2019 13:04

Thanks @PineappleC. Sorry to hear AF arrived for you. My day 3 bloods are tomorrow so we seem to be at a similar point in the process. Hopefully we will both get some useful answers ... or a surprise BFP. That happened to my mum with me, she suddenly got pregnant between fertility appointments. So I guess I am proof it can happen! Smile

FlapJackered · 27/06/2019 22:34

@Tryingforkittens that is great! You must be over the moon! Have you told your family or will you wait for the 12 week mark?

Welcome @RosettaR sorry to hear you're in the same boat. It is really hard isn't it. It's good to have some support on hear with people going through the same thing. Good luck with the test.

@PineappleC so sorry to hear that. I hope the tests come back ok or otherwise give you a better idea of what is going on.

I have booked in to get my AMH blood test in a couple of weeks. I am actually worried about this one as I have a feeling my eggs are not great. 😕

RosettaR · 28/06/2019 09:18

@FlapJackered I know it's really hard. I thought I'd better join a thread at this point as I'll need support over the results I'm sure.

I literally just had my hormone bloods which I think (hope) included AMH. The nurse started by telling me I had tiny veins which made me really nervous ... but she got there in the end.

Tryingforkittens · 28/06/2019 13:17

@FlapJackered I don't know when I'll tell my family. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage so I'm getting a 6 week scan hopefully. I'll definitely wait until after that before making any decisions to tell anyone.
