Spring is in the air and it's time for a new thread!

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping we get some spring BFP luck for all of us!! 🍀🐣🍀🐣

Good luck @Russkispy Smile

Amanda81 · 13/03/2019 13:08

Great news @Russkispy - good luck with the transfer 🤞🏻

Big shout out to the SI @BambiOnIce80 - so pleased they are working out for you 👌👌 good luck with the A game tonight 😂😂 I did do another test a few days ago (caved big time) and the line was much stronger. Such a relieve. I'm still tracking my bbt, not sure if I should stop now.

VenusStarr · 13/03/2019 13:25

Just popping in. I was in a+e last night, I started bleeding yesterday afternoon, not too heavily but enough to scare me. Have been referred to epu but my scan isn't until Friday. Have been spotting since and had some low aches and really bad backache. Just had an immense shooting pain so I'm not confident this is going to work out 😔 dh is remaining optimistic. I'll let you know on Friday. I should be 6+6 then so it should be conclusive either way x

Russkispy · 13/03/2019 14:05

@VenusStarr really hope everything is going to be ok!
@QuantumGirl shame GPs can't give us more time to discuss various issues! Surely you're still in a limbo land and need answers!
AFM, Both blasts are AB quality. Doc and embryologist are very happy, 1 was transferred and 1 biopsied and gone through PGS test and I'll get results next week. And it's already on "ice". Been giving lots of supplements to take to support implantation etc. Now onto 2ww

Laney79 · 13/03/2019 14:36

@Russkispy ooh what supplements do they recommend for implantation? Fingers crossed for a sticky!!! Xx

QuantumGirl · 13/03/2019 14:40

@VenusStarr really hope it will all be ok ❤️
@Russkispy ohhh, it sounds promising. Can you pls share what supplements you are taking?

Russkispy · 13/03/2019 15:14

Was told to take Estrofem, Prednisolone, inofolic, progesterone and Thrombo ASS.

Weathergirl1 · 13/03/2019 15:29

Arghhhh... I just typed out a complete response to various people individuals and then my stupid phone browser lost it all 😭😭 I'm now probably going to miss someone off 😬

Been quiet as I've been trying to just get through the TWW without thinking too much about it.

Congratulations @Amanda81 & @Catconfusion - hope they are sticky @Russkispy hope the transfers go well.

@Laney79 I can empathise with your phobias too - I'm never been examined either and I don't know how I would cope but seeing your strength is an inspiration 💐

@BambiOnIce80 I 🤣🤣 about your dropped supplements - the separate compartments and then dropping them sounds like something I'd do too! Good luck with overcoming the sex strike 👍

@VenusStarr sorry to hear what you're going through 🤞 it's good news at the scan.

I'm 7dpo according to NC but I actually think I'm 8dpo because I had ovulation pains (I think) and then when we DTD on CD10 it definitely felt like my cervix had moved lower (sorry for the TMI!!!). Anyway I had a bizarre BBT drop yesterday morning which went below cover line (never had one of those before). Also my HR was up when I tried to train on the bike yesterday afternoon (ended up only doing 30' rather than the hour) even though I'd completely degreased the drivetrain on Monday so it should have been easier going than last week 🤔. Sore nipples again but I had those the last two cycles. I've googled implantation dip but there seems to be a disagreement as to whether it's actually a thing or not...

BambiOnIce80 · 13/03/2019 17:43

So sorry you're going through it @VenusStarr 😔💐 I really hope they give you good news on Friday.x

Like you @Weathergirl1, I've read that there's no significant evidence that the temp dip indicates implantation (frustratingly!) - in one study I read it said there were significantly more women who reported a temp dip that weren't pregnant than were pregnant 😕 Why, oh why can't there be some bullet proof, irrefutable early pregnancy signs?!?! Your heart rate being on the up sounds hopeful though 🤞🏻🍀

Glad to hear your lines gotten stronger @Amanda81.x

Tested at 10dpo today and a BFN :(
I knew it was probably too early but I can't help feeling down and fed up about it. Gonna feel sorry for myself for a bit and try again on Friday

Amanda81 · 13/03/2019 18:23

Hi @Weathergirl1 - the cycle before this one i got what I thought was an implantation dip - got me all excited 😆 the next day it went all the way back up aswell, so doubly excited. Turned out to be a bfn on that cycle. I hear the same as what @BambiOnIce80 has said with the odds as I researched it last month. However, it can happen...any other symptoms? 🍀 🍀

I hope all is okay @VenusStarr, sending all positive vibes to you for Friday 🤗 🤗

Carley32 · 13/03/2019 19:31

Hi @BambiOnIce80 yes I usually don’t drink for an hour before hand? Yesterday I forgot and had a bottle of water after the gym (yes I finally started) and tested not long after and that was completely negative and I did click on later on as to why.
But since starting this new pack of IC I always seem to have a line of some sort mediumis shade, and then sometimes lighter. It’s very strange..... I remember last cycle (when DP was away) I had the darkest line I’d ever had on CD19 then nothing at all then had a static smiley on Cd24/5ish.
Could my IC pack be faulty 🤔.

Sorry about the essay but It’s really confusing me lol.

On another note good luck for tonight 🤞, maybe have a few Gins and then try it on.... then you could just blame the drink!

@QuatumGirl great on the good news. But It’s crap when things still play on your mind. The nhs is great in so many ways but it can be such a struggle when you want to be looked at as a person with concerns over a name on a computer. I’m feeling vulnerable with it all and Sometimes lose a little trust that some doctors make do rather than delve in.

Good luck @Russkispy 🤞

I hope everything is ok for you @VenusStarr.

Great news on the stronger line @Amanda81

Pinkywoo · 13/03/2019 20:07

@VenusStarr I had very similar and it was all ok, I bet Friday seems a very long way away though, can they not get you in any sooner? Flowers

Weathergirl1 · 13/03/2019 20:35

@Amanda81 apart from sore nipples, I don't think so. HR was up on the bike yesterday but I cycled after I posted earlier and I was more normal today. Resting HR is up a little bit today from last week's average... I guess I will just have to see what happens the next few days.

guinicorn · 13/03/2019 20:58

Just adding myself! 36 in June, ttc #1
, 7 or 8dpo - so stressed! Good luck everyone x

WrexhamBuxom · 13/03/2019 23:26

Hey ladies, just checking in.

I am on CD10 currently. I have been trying to do better on temping, but the temps have been all over the place. Zigging and zagging, so I am a bit alarmed. I had a pretty big dip this morning, which I wasn't expecting. It's early for a pre-ovulation dip, especially since I typically don't get my LH surge till CD17.

Typically, I don't start testing with OPK till CD14. But, now I am wondering if I should start testing sooner. I am out of sticks, so I am debating whether to Amazon Prime it or go to the store and overpay for a quick buy.

Not much else to report. I need to drink more water and less caffeine. Thanks for the tip @BambionIce80 on the soy Isoflavones. Might try that or getting started on Primrose Oil. I tried Mucinex last month, and while I did feel very nice and slick, I didn't notice an increase in CM, and I hated the way it made me smell down there. It's probably a little late to start either of those for this cycle, but maybe next time.

Congrats to everyone with good news! It's so fulfilling to follow along this thread.

CNizzle · 13/03/2019 23:28

Thinking of you @VenusStarr, hope everything goes well on friday.
@Russkispy are you locked & loaded? 🤞for little Emby x
Congratulations @Amanda81 & @Catconfusion
Feel like ice been off this thread in ages, in reality it's been about 3 days!! Been a long week in work so far, though I'm still not back at work full time , since Dad died. I've been taking one day off a week to ease myself back in. And trying to avoid days in which I would see a lot of brain tumour patients, cos I think that would push me over the edge still.
In cycle news, I was due AF today. Started weird heavy spotting, but ot AF and absolutely no pain yet (VERY ODD). I'd read about taking magnesium supplements to reduce cramps, so been taking them, plus i've been taking naproxen for a day already (like I'm.supposed to) rather than as soon as the pain hits, cos by then it's usually too late to control it. Anyway. If this odd spotting continues I might POAS by the end of the week. It will just be a slow-starter, and I was told this cycle might be odd after the lap & dye, so far it's been spot on days-wise, and only difference was the big of bleed. Inner symptom-spotter isnt so inner currently. 😬

BambiOnIce80 · 14/03/2019 08:04

Oooh, tentative fingers-crossed for you @CNizzle 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻I'd be letting my inner symptom spotting psycho roam free with those changes to your symptoms too!x

@WrexhamBuxom your cycle pattern sounds like it's maybe a day behind mine - I had a big temp dip CD9 (chart attached), but I usually ov CD16/17. My temps gone up a little (it usually does at this stage and it's still below my cover line), so I'm waiting for it to dip back down again and then jump up (hopefully over the weekend 🤞🏻). I started OPK's CD12 and they're nice and BFN so far (I really want to ov at the weekend to increase our DTD chances!).

I know it's not any fun at all @Carley32, but maybe try limiting fluids (and trips to the loo! 😄) for at least 2 hours before you POAS? I hold for 3 (which I hate 😕), but it definitely does the job of making my wee more concentrated to test with. You'll be able to see from the colour of your wee if it's concentrated or not (pale = not, very straw coloured = more concentrated) - maybe a 1 hour hold is enough for you, but maybe not 🤔 On the lines coming and going/being weakly there all the time front - annoying, but perfectly normal 😉 My CD12 OPK had a faint line, but CD13 had nothing there at all - I'll let you know what it does tonight (CD14), but I'm guessing it'll either be faint or absent (got my BFP on CD16 last month). Well done on going to the gym, BTW! 💪😎

Welcome @guinicorn 👋 Have you been TTC long or are you just starting out? Lots of support here, whichever it is.x

So. I did indeed bring my A game last night and definitely got a rise out of DP... but sadly we didn't make it to the finish line 😞 I think I said all the right things to not make a big deal out of it afterwards... at least he was snoring his head off within minutes, so couldn't be troubling him too much! 🙄 I, however, was then laid there half the night manically trying to troubleshoot/figure out how to get past an issue that isn't solely mine to figure out 😣 Couldn't help thinking it's all very well me taking the SI's, going for acupuncture, abstaining from alcohol (which is bloody miserable, BTW 🍸😭), but if we don't manage to DTD during FW then there's no sodding point!! 😖 Urgh. Going to give myself a (hard) mental slap and get over myself 🤦‍♀️ Normal service will be resumed shortly... I hope! 😏

I've missed so much! Working backwards...

@BambiOnIce80 - it's so stressful when your OH wont play ball in the sack. Been there many a time! My tip is to step back, it might mean missing another month but so be it.

@CNizzle - fingers crossed for some good news!

@guinicorn - welcome to the thread. Have you been trying long? I'm about 7dpo too.

@WrexhamBuxom - i have cycles like that. I just try to look for an overall pattern to check i have ovulated.

@Carley32 - I always have some sort of lh line on the IC, but when I do get my surge it is really obvious. Mine comes in at night usually, so I test around 8pm.

Also yeah I've thought I've had an implantation dip loads of times but I think it's just the amount of oestrogen and progesterone shifting around that point of the cycle that causes it. I don't think it's a thing.

Fingers crossed the egg sticks for you @Russkispy!

@VenusStarr - any update? Hope the scan is okay tomorrow.

@QuantumGirl - glad your scan was fine, although sounds confusing! Hopefully it all resets itself properly soon. Very frustrating.

Congrats @Catconfusion.

Welcome to any newbies I've missed!

Not much going on here. I'm pretty fed up with life in general. I can't even be bothered to exercise, which is a shame as I know it would make me feel better. I might try and force myself out later for a windy run. I'm feeling fat, lethargic, and irritable. My little sisters IVF didn't work which makes me sad for her and also sad for me as if hers didn't work I don't think there's much hope for me as we have near identical cycles/thyroid issues/lifestyles except she's five years younger. I've been on this thread for bloody ages now without even having a period be a day late. I know you've been trying for much longer @BambiOnIce80 so I shouldn't be moaning but I don't know how you have the energy to keep carrying on. You're a better woman than me! Anyway, didn't want to bring anyone down with my current grumpiness so I've been retreating from these boards a bit. This weather isn't helping!

birdbybird · 14/03/2019 12:52

@79andnotout - a virtual hug to you... I certainly was so fearful of unexpected pregnancy that I expected to fall pregnant the first cycle I tried TTC... especially when DTD multiple times in fertile days. Its a shock to the system when it doesn't happen immediately. Take heart that in late 30's/40... the average is 10 month... and just a few months higher in early 40's. This is not a great deal higher than the average for early to mid-30's. So don't give up.... it might take a while longer that's all. In the meantime enjoy your baby (responsibility) free time while it lasts.... I occupied myself with TTC, fertility numbers etc the last few months to the point of obsession.... it helped me to stop and remember my ambitions, plans, hopes that I had before this TTC journey - with or without kids!

birdbybird · 14/03/2019 13:08

@VenusStarr - hope everything goes ok for you...

@CNizzle - fingers crossed for you...

@WrexhamBuxom - I'm also on CD10 but I've had a few irregular cycle lengths so start opk testing on day 6/7. What cycle is this for you?

BTW - Anyone had a delay with ovulation as a result of slight fever...? I've had it for the last two days... temperature normal now as recovering from the cold but my chart is out of whack.

guinicorn · 14/03/2019 13:16

@bambionice80 I'm only on cycle 2 so very early in my journey compared to other ladies on here. Thank you for the support! My aches aren't as severe today so I'm wondering maybe implantation... But could just as easily be the eye of the storm before AF x

Carley321 · 14/03/2019 13:29

Thank you for your experiences @BambiOnIce80 and @79andnotout that settles me quite a lot actually, so thank you again :)

I feel like I've been on this thread for ever without a sniff of a bfp (well apart from the sickness - shitty bug). So can't imagine how you and @Bambi feel. it is definitely a hard old slog which continues to affect my moods daily!

I will try and follow your plan as much as possible @BambiOnice80 and hold off longer, it's bloody hard though I've got a terrible bladder and always feel guilty for not drinking enough water so try to sip through out the day. It's all so arse backwards isn't it!

Good work on the rise I'm sure it will all work out. You have both chatted and aired your concerns so I'm sure it's just a matter of time before DP is feeling funky fresh (from the more sociable hours) and more confident from the lack of pressure in knowing when FW is. Any steps are great ones as long as their moving forward!

I get it though, we go through so many changes when ttc and then obviously an abundance when we actually get lucky. Men have it so easy!

Carley321 · 14/03/2019 13:30

oh there I am Carley321 today! for any one new, I'm also Carley32. Bloody eck!

BambiOnIce80 · 14/03/2019 18:04

I'm so sorry to hear your sisters IVF cycle wasn't successful @79andnotout 😢 I totally understand the grumpiness - don't think you'd be normal if you weren't with that going on! Thanks so much for the advice - you're of course right, as always 😄 I just think another cycle where I know there's absolutely no chance/hope is going to ruin me for a bit... I just need to pull up my big girl pants and get on with it though, of course 😏 Closest I've been to crying over it for a while, so I'm definitely not a stronger woman than you! I find myself googling puppies more and more often... the temptation go just say 🤬 it and call it quits is getting pretty strong lately 🙄 Trying to stick to the one-NHS-IVF-shot plan though, so going to attempt to endure it for another 2 years max. Line in the sand drawn.

Hopefully that's a good sign for you @guinicorn 🤞🏻

It really is arse backwards @Carley32 😂😂 Sums it up nicely 😄

Don't know what I'd do without you lot to offload to ❤️xx
