Spring is in the air and it's time for a new thread!

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping we get some spring BFP luck for all of us!! 🍀🐣🍀🐣

Wonderful @Russkispy fingers crossed for lots more growth...grow embies grow!

BambiOnIce80 · 12/03/2019 07:52

That's great news @Russkispy! Cheering them all on for tomorrow 🍀🤞🏻 And thanks for the over 40 IVF info - means we'd have to crack on and self fund if we did want to go down the 2 embryo transfer rabbit hole 🙄

On the CM front @Laney79, I don't normally get much/any visible EWCM, but I always get the creamy stuff during my luteal phase. Hoping it's a good sign if it's not normal for you 🤞🏻

How are you doing @QuantumGirl? Did AF show this weekend or are you going ahead and getting the scan? Thinking of you.x

How's the living room looking @79andnotout? I bloody hate decorating, but sounds like you're in your element! 🎨 🙂

CD12 here and I've had pregnancy dreams for the past 2 nights in a row Hmm Not normal for me, so think my subconscious is getting far too hopeful about this cycle due to the SI's - definitely need to start managing expectations! Not due to ov until the weekend, DP is still technically on sex strike (we've not had a follow up conversation because I didn't want to come across as a crazed TTC psycho as soon as his shift pattern changed 🤪), plus I did 6 cycles of clomid with the ex and I'm still notably childless... Definitely need to give my inner psyche a strong talking to!

Talking of dreams @VenusStarr - was it the cycle that you fell pregnant that you had the 'baby out the bellybutton' dream?! If it was, I don't think my inner psyche will listen to reason! 😂

Good morning everyone, so I caved this morning and tested at 11 dpo due to nausea and I got the beginning of my bfp. I'm pretty shocked but excited. It's not long after my missed miscarriage so know i'll have a lot of anxiety in this pregnancy. It's obviously early days and its scary knowing this early in case it doesn't work out but I'm very grateful its happened.

In my early 30s I struggled with polycystic ovaries and I wasn't ovulating regularly, sometimes no periods for 6-9 months. If someone had told me I'd fall pregnant first time I tried twice at nearly 40 years old I wouldn't have believed them. Obviously the first one ended in mmc but hopefully number 2 is my rainbow baby.

Never give up hope. My cysts have gone and my cycles are still a bit irregular but obviously normal enough. Don't be put off when people say your fertility will decline in your late 30s. In some cases like mine it has improved.

Whatever the outcome of this new pregnancy I feel very pleased with my body for achieving it and have everything crossed it'll work out.

Good luck to you all and I hope you get your bfp soon! xx

@Catconfusion tentative congratulations!

Catconfusion · 12/03/2019 07:59

Thank you @russkispy. It is very tentative at the moment but I'm trying to enjoy it a little as well.

Best of luck for tomorrow. xx

VenusStarr · 12/03/2019 08:14

Yes! I did have the baby out my bellybutton dream on my bfp cycle @BambiOnIce80, I'll quietly cheer on your inner psyche from the sidelines ☺️ I've had 2 more baby dreams since and in all 3 have I've known they're boys. I'm not woo in the slightest but do feel it means something and I'm having a boy. There's a long wait to find out though!

Great news @Russkispy best wishes for tomorrow!

Tentative congratulations @Catconfusion Flowers

We're decorating our living room @79andnotout, kitchen works have progressed but slowly. It's great yo see the transformation.

Hope things are ok with you @QuantumGirl x

👋 Hi everyone else xx

Laney79 · 12/03/2019 08:31

@Catconfusion keeping everything crossed for you xxx

Catconfusion · 12/03/2019 08:35

Thanks @Laney79 I'm still shaking as even though lots of symptoms still very surprised! X

Pinkywoo · 12/03/2019 08:56

Congratulations @Catconfusion!

I'm feeling better thanks @BambiOnIce80, morning sickness (and evening sickness in my case) has kicked in though Envy

Laney79 · 12/03/2019 08:56

@Catconfusion I was the same when I fell after my first mmc. I honestly believed I was out that month as I'd had a bit of spotting and felt distinctly pre-af...but that stopped as quick as it started and three days later started getting squinters on cheap strip tests. Rushed out for a frer and lo and behold bfp. I think it took me a good 24 hours to stop shaking and actually believe it. Enjoy it as much as you can-it's really hard after a loss, but it's so important. I really hope all goes well for you xxx

Catconfusion · 12/03/2019 09:05

Thanks @VenusStarr

Big congrats @Pinkywoo and I hope the morning sickness tails off soon.

Arh @Laney79 I really appreciate you saying that. As much as everyone says you'll go on to have another healthy pregnancy it's so hard to believe it will happen after a loss. I'm just trying to stay positive and remember whatever the outcome my body did well to fall again so quickly. Xx

Laney79 · 12/03/2019 09:27

@Catconfusion absolutely. Someone on another board a while ago was talking about pregnancy after loss. Their mantra was "today I am pregnant" so they used that as a way to enjoy what they had at that moment, rather than worry what may or may not happen in future. It Helped me enjoy the short time I had with my second little one rather than focus on my fears. Most people do seem to have successful pregnancies after one loss so odds are on your side. Xxx

BambiOnIce80 · 12/03/2019 11:15

That's lovely news @Catconfusion! 😍 Huzzah for temp dips followed by sharp rises!🌡️Keeping everything crossed for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you 🤞🏻🍀

So. I appreciate nobody really wants a realtime CM update from me (but! 😂), I'm happy to report that SI's seem to be doing the trick again this cycle 😁 Plenty of EWCM when I nipped to the loo just now, so the effect of the SI's seem to be reproducible and consistent! 🤓

Catconfusion · 12/03/2019 11:35

@Laney79 That's a lovely way to look at it. I'll remember that and do my best to live by it. Thanks. X

@BambiOnIce80 thank you so much. I'm hoping it's far less eventful than last time. X

QuantumGirl · 12/03/2019 16:15

@BambiOnIce80 and @VenusStarr thanks for the shout out 😀. Nothing much has happened since the disappointing docs appointment last week. No sings of AF but haven't tested since either, CD64 today. Have booked a scan for this evening and will update you as soon as I have more news.

I'm off to Brazil in a few days time and my mind is already in holiday mode 🤩.

Hello and welcome to the new ladies on the thread and congrats to the BFPs. So much to catch up on....

@79andnotout how are things with you?

beebear22 · 12/03/2019 16:20

Congratulations @catconfusion Flowers

I'm now 9dpo and keep having to step away from the FRERs!
My temp dipped yesterday but it's back up again now. Only the very mildest of cramps and feeling full and bloated. I'm in two mind about testing tomorrow. I want to know but also don't want to know!

Catconfusion · 12/03/2019 17:05

Thanks @beebear22 I know its so hard either way. Ive feeling a bit crampy and full too. As I had a MMC last month I'm a lot more anxious. Paranoid I'm seeing blood when I wipe when there's nothing there. Also had a very tearful conversation with the midwife. The FRERs are a double edged sword. Not sure I'm glad I know as so early on. If you feel like you can't relax unless you know and are prepared for the excitement/anxiety knowing brings so early do it. Good luck! X

Carley32 · 12/03/2019 18:44

Amazing @Russkispy so exciting!

That’s brilliant news @catconfusion I’m so happy for you.

It’s all sounding positive for you @BambiOnIce80. Maybe I should try some of those IS’s 🤨. 🤞 DP gives in to the strike! Although he obviously knows the score so if you do manage to dtd he knows what he’s in for 😊.

CD15 here and nothing to report only managed to dtd once this cycle so far. But I don’t think I’m in fertile week yet. But who’s to know! I am doing IC opks. But they seem a bit all over the place so not feeling confident. May have to go back to CB next month at least they are a definite yes or no.

Also tried to ring private clinic to book and their system was down and told me to ring a little later by which I’d completely forgot.

Laney79 · 12/03/2019 19:43

@BambiOnIce80 ooh what are the SI's you mention?

Russkispy · 12/03/2019 21:14

@Carley32 thank you! Transfer is tomorrow lunch time!
@QuantumGirl how did the scan go?

Catconfusion · 12/03/2019 21:35

Thanks @Carley32 and good luck!

BambiOnIce80 · 13/03/2019 07:46

How did you get on with the scan @QuantumGirl? Brazil sounds amazeballs!! 🤩 Hopefully the scan has provided some answers and you can now relax and enjoy your holiday 😎

Good luck for today @Russkispy 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀

Are you testing again this morning @Amanda81? Same to you, if so 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀

@Carley32, do you limit your fluid intake before you do the IC OPK's? I've started a little system whereby I stop drinking anything from 3.45pm (and nip to the loo - I drink loads of water/green tea through the day!) and then POAS when I get home at 7pm. Means the wee is more concentrated and gives a more reliable result 👍 My DP didn't show any interest in DTD last night, but it's CD13 here now and I think I'm going to have to blow my cover and try to make a move to stay in with a chance! Would ideally DTD tonight and CD16 (expect ov CD17), but I guess we'll see 🙄 Think I'm going to have to bring my A game! 💃

@Laney79, they're soy isoflavones and they kind of naturally trick your body into stepping up oestrogen production. Some people call them 'natures clomid' (and normal clomid didn't work for me, so not sure why I think these will! 😂). You take them the same as clomid, so for 5 days at the beginning of your cycle - usually CD3-7 is recommended to improve egg maturity. I find they give me loads of energy whilst I'm taking them and then I get plenty of EWCM in FW (when normally I get barely any/nothing noticeable). Got nothing to lose and everything to gain, so thought I'd give them a go for a few cycles. How're you doing today (and how's your mum?)?

Russkispy · 13/03/2019 08:21

2 made it to blast stage. The third was developing to slowly and eventually stopped. 1 will be transferred shortly and the other will be biopsied and freeze. A bit rubbish news but still glad we've got one in the "bank"

QuantumGirl · 13/03/2019 11:14

Well ladies the scan went well, there are no cysts and I have two big follicles one at 24mm and one at 21mm. Still no explanation for the lack of AF and now I'm worried my lining is too old and passed its sell by date ☹️. I still have too many questions that remain unanswered and my GP will just shrug it off. Really considering asking her to refer me to a private gynaecologist so at least I'm allowed more than 10 minutes for my consultation and can talk about more than one issue at a time but for now all I am looking forward to is caipirinhas in the sun ☀️🍸😎.

QuantumGirl · 13/03/2019 11:15

@Russkispy best of luck for today xx
