Spring is in the air and it's time for a new thread!

Basically: a wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the TTC journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Here's hoping we get some spring BFP luck for all of us!! 🍀🐣🍀🐣

@Amanda81 would definitely wait a bit longer! Fingers crossed!

AFM, today was the last day of stims. Did my trigger a couple of hours ago and all set for EC on Friday morning. DH is flying over tomorrow night. And then the real "fun" begins!

BambiOnIce80 · 07/03/2019 07:57

Oooh, a chat over a glass of wine is absolutely the best way to go @Carley32 🍾🥂😄 Looking forward to hearing which course of action you decide on 😊 I haven't tried to cross the picket line yet as it's only CD7 here and AF hasn't quite slung her hook. I'm hoping she will have done so by tonight though, so I'm going to muster up all my womanly wiles and see what happens! 💃

@PixieN it's been a long time since my HSG, but I remember it had to be done between CD1-14 and they asked me to both abstain from DTD and take a HPT on the day. Hope you can get it booked in soon 🍀

Things are getting exciting at your end @Russkispy! 🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻🍀

So. It was CD6 last night as well as our 3 year anniversary, so we went out to a lovely little new restaurant for a 6 course tasting menu with matching booze (we can't help ourselves @79andnotout! It's our achilles heel! 😂 Hope you're doing OK, BTW?). It was also day 4 of SI's, so I was going to have to take them with me (I take them and all the other vits with my evening meal, but normally wouldn't bother if I'm out). Found a little tin to put the 2 pills in and then thought "may as well bring the lot of them I'm bothering with the SI's" and made a little partition to bring DP's coQ and other TTC vit (very pleased with my handiness/initiative! 🤓). Arrived at the little restaurant, was amazed by the fantaticness of the food and totally forgot about the pills until course 5 (which was obvs 5 drinks in 🍸😬). Whipped out the tin in a hurry, handed DP his 💊's first and heard an almighty clattering noise as I did so... Yep. TTC vits and SI's all over the restaurant floor and me scrabbling around on my hands and knees trying to retrieve them! 😳🤪😳🤪 After 15 bloody minutes I realised one of the 2 SI's was wedged between 2 of the trendy wide spaced floor boards and there was no bloody way I could pry it out (plus the 5 second rule had well and truly elapsed) 🙈🙊 I'm such a tit!

@BambiOnIce80 that made me laugh out loud in the middle of my breakfast at the hotel! (Staying at the hotel which is next to the clinic, very handy indeed!

CNizzle · 07/03/2019 09:24

@PixieN, like @birdbybird I had HyCoSy, similar to HSG. Id read it should be done before ov, but my ACU told me the waiting lists were too long to only do them pre-ovulation. I was told to use contraception for the whole month prior & bring a negative hpt with me to prove . The appointment came through for approx 3dpo (a month or so in advance), I called and was told they didn't rebook for that reason. So I called a week later and told them my cycles were a bit off and I'd be bleeding on that date! They rebooked it for a date "more convenient". Its supposed to increase your fertility, my consultant confirmed this, but unfortunately not for me! That was in October 17.

@bambionice80 haha! I can just imagine, that would be me dropping pills on the floor, I'm so clumsy! Have you tried Six by Nico in Edinburgh? The Glasgow one is just fantastic. Went the other week. Didn't do the wine pairing as it was a school night (& pre payday!). Apparently he's opening in Manchester soon too.

beverlymarsh · 07/03/2019 10:58

Hello all!

@Bambi that is hilarious about the pills, and exactly the sort of thing I would do😂

My HSG made no difference to me, fertility-wise. Most disappointing.

Good luck with the EC @Russkispy!

Well I’ve just had my ovarian reserve test and some blood tests. Results back in a couple of days. This is through the private clinic. I’m very glad I went for a wee just before, as there was some prodding and poking going on. They do this test on CD 1-4 and I am CD1 today so booked in this morning. Apparently I have 7 follicles on one side and 6 on the other. No cysts, which is good as I used to have one on the left. I’m so bored of being “unexplained” and think I am just literally too old! Pffff.

BambiOnIce80 · 07/03/2019 13:07

Just had a little smile to myself @Russkispy 😊 I still find it amazing that I can do something stupid in Scotland and it can make someone laugh in Russia... I love our little thread ❤️

It's on my to-do list @CNizzle 👍 DP and I tend to revolve all our eating out around itison vouchers until we find something exceptional that's worth paying full price for (and I missed the last one for 6 😏). I'm keeping my eyes peeled for it coming up again 👀

If it's any consolation @beverlymarsh (which I appreciate it probably isn't 😏) I started TTC with the ex when I was 30 and they couldn't find anything wrong with me then, just as they can't now... Unexplained infertility is just a total fecking head 🤬 Fingers-crossed for a good AMH result for you 🤞🏻🍀

Omg @BambiOnIce80 that actually cracked me up. I really did LOL. Thank you for sharing that story, sorry you lost your Si’s and very sorry you had to eat from the floor in the fancy restaurant 🙈😂. Bless. Was the meal nice Atleast?

I will certainly let you know the outcome of the wine convo lol. Good luck for tonight 👍. Keep us updated on the mood after the si’s.

Well so much for dtd every 2/3 days this cycle. It’s cd9 6 days since af and I can barely be arsed to put my Jim jams on let alone anything other than sleep!
Although I doubt it’s my cycle. Iv had some serious lower right back/hip discomfort recently (wel for months actually) but proper bothering me this last week. This obviously also worries me... thinking is there something going on in there that’s a sign of abnormalities? Bloody body confuses the hell out of me!

Sorry for essay on my back .... just thinking out loud, kind of 🤔 lol.

PixieN · 07/03/2019 22:16

Thanks for your experiences of HSG/Hycosy Ladies Smile I rang the clinic and apparently the request is there, but it’s not been put through yet. I won’t get a letter this cycle, but maybe the next one or the one after that. Just need to be patient - not one of my strong points lol 😝

BambiOnIce80 · 08/03/2019 13:00

Me neither @PixieN! I hope it's next cycle 🤞🏻

@Carley32 the food was fantabulous, thankfully! 😋 The SI's seem to have me whizzing round like the energizer bunny in the morning and then I totally crash by the evening! Which means, like you, all I wanted was my pj's/onesie last night and there was exactly zero chance of me trying to cross the picket line 🙄 I'm going to see if a cheeky gin and tonic will help my energy levels tonight 🍸😬 Good luck with your wine/game plan convo tonight 🍀

Had egg collection this morning. 10 follicles collected out 15 as the rest were too small. So far 1 follicle was empty. So have 9 in total to see how they develop in the next couple of days and ET is on Wednesday. And hopefully there will be embryos to freeze and doc wants to do genetic testing on them. We agreed. Now it's waiting time

pitterpatterbaby · 08/03/2019 18:55

Cd17 and just had a tiny bit of pink mucus as I wiped. Is this normal? Wonder what it could be?

Carley32 · 08/03/2019 19:33

Not so good for evenings then @BambiOnIce80 what a shame. I could do with some get up and go after 7pm 🙈.
Food sounds good though!

Thanks, the wine is just chilling in the fridge lol. Enjoy your Gin 🥂.

Good luck with the next few days @Russkispy. It’s certainly all go for you right now.

Maybe ovulation spotting @pitterpatterbaby? Although I dont really know if that’s even a thing?

So Iv had a faint second line on my IC OPK for the last 2 days plus before af. Anyone had any experience of this? I’m a little confused 🤔.

I know I said I wasn’t testing but couldn’t resist with the cheapies. Still undecided on CB.

pitterpatterbaby · 08/03/2019 19:58

No idea @Carley32 I've just done an opk and nothing. Feel af crampy now too.

79andnotout · 08/03/2019 20:22

@BambiOnIce80 - good effort on the geeky pill drop at fancy restaurant! I know you're supposed to take them all with dinner but I still do it at breakfast otherwise I'd forget.

Anyway, I'm just dipping into this thread at the mo so can't keep up with anything. Moving offices, decorating the living room, been working away and had a monumental hangover in that mix so I'm really behind! Will catch up in a couple of days when the decorating is finished. Good luck @Russkispy, sounds like a good haul!

Enjoy your weekends ladies...

Laney79 · 09/03/2019 08:12

Sorry for the slow replies -been a busy couple of days (including a surprise trip to the hospital with my ma with a suspected pulmonary embolism-thankfully ruled that out but still not sure what the issue is!)

@BambiOnIce80 I bet lab testing is an interesting job-always quite fancied it myself. I'm a huge advocate for being your own champion in these things. I prefer to have my records and then I can research and ask questions about results/care. Helps me feel more in control. Medics are busy and sadly rarely have the time to consider you as a whole person, they are usually looking at the particular condition/issue you are there about but the peripheral info can sometimes hold the answers. love the pills story-made me laugh out loud!!!

@Carley32 finally got a static smiley weds night. Don't normally test at night but my ICs were showing positive at 2200 so I wanted to see if CB agreed. Stayed positive on IC's until mid afternoon on thurs so suspect I ov'd overnight Thursday. Had a bit of light pink CM this morning so assuming that's ov spotting. Did you decide on the private consultation? I get faint pink lines on opks a lot at all different times of my cycle-however apparently LH is very similar to the pregnancy hormone so some say opks can show pregnancy. Have you done a hpt?

@PixieN yeah-I've seen lots about TSH - mine varies between 1.3-1.8 from the tests I've had and my GP and consultant says that's where it should be for TTC/pregnancy. Are they giving you meds to help? It's certainly one of the more "fixable" issues I've read about. Good luck with the vitamin tests. I was so pleased to see my vitamin D get above the 75nmol/l mark. Made me feel like I'd made a positive change, that next time if there is one could be different. Sorry no experience of HSG

@Russkispy fingers crossed for good healthy growth for you!

@pitterpatterbaby do you know when you ovulated? I just had the same and think I ov'd 24/36 hours ago so I'm assuming it's ovulation spotting. If it's 6+ days after ovulation it could be implantation (had that in my second pregnancy last August) or it could be AF kicking in. Our bodies I swear are out to get us!

So I'm counting today as 2dpo...off for reflexology this morning. We did manage to DTD successfully on Thursday so hoping we have a good shot this month (we'd managed every other day until Sunday typically!)

pitterpatterbaby · 09/03/2019 09:10

@Laney79 I've no idea. I felt like it was early in my cycle but opk's gave me nothing. Two days of feint second line at cd8 and 9 but then nothing. I'm starting to think it's af early as it's heavier this morning, gone beyond spotting now and bright red. I'm so upset

Amanda81 · 09/03/2019 09:20

Hi ladies. Exciting (yet tentative) news here! We got our BFP this morning at 14dpo. Full of excitement, but super scared following the MMC in Nov. Brought up mixed emotions tbh. It would be nice if the line was darker, but will most likely test mid week next week to see if it improves.

TTC first child

Currently 6dpo so fingers crossed

Catconfusion · 09/03/2019 10:17

@beebear22 I'm 6 dpo too. 39 and 40 in a few months, eek. Trying for first baby after an unfortunate missed miscarriage last month at 10 weeks. We fell first cycle last time so very sad it ended that way. Very optimistic about attempt number 2. Are you symptom spotting?

BambiOnIce80 · 09/03/2019 10:18

Awwwwww, fantastic news @Amanda81! 😍 Your symptom instincts were spot on! 😊 I was logging in just to see if you'd tested yet too! 😄 Keeping everything crossed for your test mid week 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Carley32 LH is always kicking about in our systems to some degree or other, but it's just the surge we need to spot for prediction of ov. My OPK's were stong-ish but not BFP at CD7 last cycle (and I was freaking out after the freakishly short cycle before that 🙄), but the line faded back down before coming back with a vengeance on CD16 👍 How did the wine convo/game planning session go?x

Talking of OPK's, have you thought about trying the one-step OPK's off Amazon @pitterpatterbaby? They're the ones we mostly call 'IC'. I think I paid £7.50 for 50 of them, so I don't get stressed out if it takes me a few days to get a BFP. You know your body best, but I ov'd CD17 last month with a 29 day cycle. How long are your cycles and could it be ov spotting rather than AF?

Crikey, hope your mum is OK @Laney79?! 😟 Very good news it's not a PE though 😪 You're a stronger woman than me - I can't stand people touching my feet! 👣😣😄

Welcome @beebear22 👋 You're well and truly in the TWW then 🍀 Has your inner symptom spotting psycho turned up yet?! 🤪 We didn't manage to hit FW last month, so mind had a month off 😄 I'm taking soy isoflavones this month so I'm thinking if we manage to hit FW this cycle, then she'll be back with a vengeance! 😂

beebear22 · 09/03/2019 10:50

Thanks @BambiOnIce80
Symptom spotting has picked up a gear these last few days! I've convinced myself that everything is pregnancy related, even down to the weird tingle in my fingers this morning.

So far i've had mild cramping/twinges for the last couple of days. AF not due for another 7 days and I don't normally get cramps until a few hours before it arrives. Acne has flared up and I've woken up with a blocked nose yesterday and today (not runny...just blocked) I'm also quite dizzy this morning but that's probable because i've not had any breakfast yet. Oh and I had a big temp spike yesterday!

I keep trying to keep myself away from google so I have been going full Marie Kondo on my house instead. It's never looked so tidy Grin

Catconfusion · 09/03/2019 11:19

@beebear22 this is the thing, I don't normally get cramping this early either and it feels very much like when I was pregnant before but I would say it started at more like 10 dpo so it's a bit early to feel this way. The pains have sometimes been sharp. Last time the nurse said it was implantation. I would say it's a good sign you're getting cramps early if you don't normally. Have you decided when to test?

Well done for tidying the house and staying away from Google. It's so hard when you just want to know if it's happened. Good luck! X

beebear22 · 09/03/2019 11:43

@catconfusion I have some First Response tests so I think I might try on Wednesday. I actually have a 20 mile race the day AF is due (booked way before TTC) so i'm hoping I get an answer before then so I know if I need to cancel :)

How about you?

Catconfusion · 09/03/2019 12:02

@beebear22 Wow so a very good reason to test early. I was thinking Wednesday with a first response as the symptom spotting is driving me crazy!

VenusStarr · 09/03/2019 16:43

Brilliant news @Amanda81 congratulations 🎉❤️

Hope everyone is well 😊 x
