I'm so sorry @38notcounting. I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. Enjoy your time with your husband and know we are all thinking of you. We're here to help xx

@chikitiki good luck! I hope this is it for you. When do you plan on testing? xx

@PineappleC keep up your positivity. I know it can be tough. Get a holiday booked! We always need something to look forward to xx

I'm CD2, but I'm ok. I didn't expect anything this month so I don't feel too disappointed. Onwards and upwards xx

38notcounting · 23/03/2019 13:20

Thanks everyone. The mc itself seems to have been relatively straightforward so I'm just trying to keep busy at the moment and be positive that we can do it - it just wasn't meant to be this time.

They also found a 6cm ovarian cyst when they scanned me so I need to go back for follow up on that too - it never rains but it pours!

Thanks for all your support. We hadn't told anyone irl so it's great to be able to come on here xxx

ChikiTIKI · 23/03/2019 13:50

@38notcounting i hope your cyst can be sorted out without any issues. please do come here for support.

@Londonkez @PineappleC i got the couraage to do a test earlier and it was a BFN clear as day. i dont feel like i may be pregnant, though, i feel like i KNOW i am!!! i will wait a while before testing again since it was totally blank. wont be anything visible tomorrow. got inlaws coming on wednesday so will take it after they leave. probably a week on sunday xxxx

my boobs have never hurt so much in my life... does this sometimes just happen before AF?

OP posts:
LondonKez · 25/03/2019 19:34

How are you feeling @38notcounting? Thinking of you xx

@chikitiki @carastarchild @PineappleC how are you ladies getting on too? Xx

ChikiTIKI · 25/03/2019 22:03

im alright thanks @LondonKez, how are you getting on? no period yet... just coming to end of CD 31 right now. still feeling sick throughout the day, eating more to make it go away but it comes back straight after. boobs really hurt still too. had another bfn on sunday though so dont think i am pregnant. its about 2 weeks now since we dtd so unlikely i will get a bfp now. quite concerned about why i am feeling so sick. probably just everyday "hormones" though... or some bug... will try to wait til weekend after family have gone home then test again.

thinking of you @38notcounting hope youre getting in some good rest and recovery xxxxxx

I'm feeling better thanks @chikitiki @LondonKez. Bleeding has almost stopped so hopefully will get back to normal soon. Think I must be a bit run down as I lost my voice over the weekend. I'm supposed to be giving a talk for work tomorrow so I'm hoping I'll be a bit less croaky then.

Work has been crazy busy the past couple of days so have thrown myself into that and trying not to think about anything else. Am looking forward to the weekend when we can just relax.

@chiki what a weird cycle. Hope you either get your BFP or if not the sickness goes away. That must be really horrible for you xxx

ChikiTIKI · 26/03/2019 22:21

@38notcounting i am glad to hear your bleeding is easing off. sorry you lost your voice. you are very strong to be carrying on with work. being busy can be good though. good luck with your presentation. not long til your weekend away. i hope you have a nice relaxing time where you and your OH can just be together :)

still no AF for me. still feeling nauseous but not that bad. dont think i am pregnant sadly but i am glad to be back to my normal long cycles again after the MC. just hope it doesnt end up being 45 days or something!! today is cd32 xxxx

OP posts:
PineappleC · 27/03/2019 18:28

@38 Yes well done for carrying on with work!! As you say, I'm sure it helps to have something to focus on, but I think you're very brave 😊

@Chiki how confusing! I hope you find out one way or the other soon. How long were your cycles before MC?

@Londonkez sorry AF got you. It sucks! Xx

I am okay thanks. Currently cd12. I'm not sure whether I'm ovulating this cycle. Got a high (non peak) opk last night, and then a very faint one this morning. I'm only testing first thing and last thing, so might have missed it. I'm not too bothered about that though - the key thing being to carry on DTD regardless! Feeling surprisingly unenthusiastic about things at the moment. This is cycle 6 for me, so I think I've subconsciously accepted that we will struggle to conceive, and it's just a waiting game to go to docs/tests. Quite negative i know!!🤷‍♀️ Also a few pregnancy announcements this week, including one person who got pregnant on the pill, and one who is one of the biggest drinker i know. Alnost makes me feel like I should start doing the exact opposite to all TTC advice!!

PineappleC · 27/03/2019 18:48

Oh also when I say I'm not bothered about that, I mean not getting an opk peak...if I'm not ovulating at all it would obviously be a concern!😊

ChikiTIKI · 30/03/2019 12:38

hi @PineappleC i agree its best just to keep DTD and not to worry about the other details so much.

before MC my cycles were about 32 days and before first baby they were about 35 days. i am not pregnant this month. ended up with a 32 day cycle though. got my period very late, just before bed on wednesday so i am counting CD1 as the next day. so i am on CD3 now.

thinking about last cycle, as i'd had quite a few very very short cycles, i think we stopped DTD a bit earlier than we should have. i dont blame myself though. i was so exhausted from the constant periods and constantly thinking i was about to ovulate.

i was quite shocked when i got the BFNs as i felt SO sick. my child had just come out in chickenpox though. and although i have immunity to it, i wonder if it was my body fighting off the virus that made me feel so sick. it was awful!!! i was just totally convinced i was pregnant. i will try to harden my heart a little to it next time and try to ignore "symptoms" as much as i can. hope it so strong though it can make me believe things so easily!!

sending love to you all for mothering sunday this weekend. whether we are waiting for our babies to come to us, already have babies with us or will see our children again in heaven one day, we are all mummies in our hearts xxxx

So I just gave up my seat on the train to someone whose pregnant, and now standing on the train bawling my eyes out thinking that might never be me 😂😂 Its kinda sad but I've got to laugh really.

@Chiki that sounds promising that your cycle was pretty similar to how it used to be then? I guess it's still pretty gutting when you're so convinced with symptoms. I hope you are feeling better now 😊

Hope those of you with kids had a good mothers day yesterday! For us it brought up the inevitable "oooh hopefully that'll be you next year" from well-meaning family who obvs have no idea we're struggling. I still wish ppl would be a bit more thoughtful about commenting!!

How is everyone getting on? X

LondonKez · 01/04/2019 19:21

Aw! @PineappleC bless you! That's definitely happened to me on the tube. I have a huge family and spending the day with all my nieces and nephews actually made me feel loads better. Weirdly, I find they're a great distraction!

@chikitiki that's definitely promising that your cycles are shifting. Fingers crossed it's all positive from here!

@38notcounting @carastarchild how are you both getting on?

I'm CD11 and heading into my FW. Pretty exhausted after a weekend with both families though! Xx

ChikiTIKI · 01/04/2019 21:58

im sorry @PineappleC about your train journey. we never know when the emotions of TTC will hit us. i am quite sad we didnt conceive this month although i would have been a bit worried to be around the chickenpox virus while first pregnant i think. i am wondering how i feel when we get to july which would have been my due date... i cant believe how quickly time goes. i think i am in denial most of the time as its just too hard to imagine what my baby would have been like, even though i already have one.

are you feeling ok now?

my cycles are back to normal now it seems which is good news. maybe this will be the month!

sounds like youve had a fun weekend @LondonKez its good to be busy with family and friends. a good kind of tired i think :)

OP posts:
PineappleC · 02/04/2019 09:29

Aww thanks @Londonkez and @ChikiTiki 🤗 Its funny how it just hits you - I had been thinking I was okay and probably going to get some tests done soon, but then I just felt so hopeless all of a sudden. I think it also didn't help that i has a stressful day at work and I'm mainly blaming stress for the lack of BFP! I am fine now thanks, and looking forward to a long weekend this weekend for my DHs birthday 😊

@Chiki yes that will be hard in July I'm sure. I can't really imagine the emotional rollercoaster a MC can bring. Hopefully you will have a BFP before then which would be a fantastic silver lining 😊

@Londonkez glad you had a good weekend! Yeah im really enjoying my nieces and nephews too, but just not the "I wish you'd both just get on with it"-type comments from MIL!!

ChikiTIKI · 02/04/2019 20:07

glad to hear youre fine now @PineappleC there's no use pretending we are fine when we are not. it's better to have a good cry and then dust ourselves off.

it would be nice to have a bfp by July... we will see though..! i am pretty sure if i have another baby it will be my last one. i want to enjoy the pregnancy which wont be easy since the MC and the birth first time around being so awful. i am so sad that my last pregnancy didnt work out but i think now its 5 months since the bfp i am in a better mental state to deal with it all again. i have gone through the stress of medical appointments etc all over again and survived and so i feel better prepared this time.

its amazing how fast time goes by... i can't believe it.

how is everyone doing? Lent seems to be taking forever!! i admit i am back to watching TV now however have stayed off the internet almost completely. havent used my ipad at all.

i am on CD14 now. thinking i may ovulate any time in the next 10 days!! feeling more chilled this month. i think its partly because i have been with out my TTC app for so long so i am not logging anything apart from writing down AF dates on a bit of paper.

hope you're all having a good week.

OP posts:
PineappleC · 10/04/2019 22:51

Hi @Chiki 😁 I think you're right in that it's much more relaxing not checking apps and tests! It's pretty hard though!

I am on cd3 of cycle 7 now 😥😥 No hint of a BFP and starting to feel a bit discouraged. I've read that excessive running can sometimes harm TTC so I'm hoping that once this marathon is out of the way on Sunday that we'll have a slightly better chance 😁🤞

I hope you ovulate soon and that your cycles go completely back to normal after the last couple of months. I find it stressful even when things are out by a couple of days so I think you've handled it really great 😊

ChikiTIKI · 11/04/2019 19:53

aw thanks @PineappleC :)

how is your marathon training going? are you feeling prepared? hope it goes well!

i was feeling quite optimistic this week but have had 2 days in a row of not DTD... and now i feel like I won't get a BFP this month and it's all by fault! lol. CD16 today so hopefully i havent ovulated already- unless it was 2 days ago and then that's ok. even without an app i am still going over everything in my mind, it's impossible not to!!!!!

OP posts:
PineappleC · 13/04/2019 09:31

@Chiki every cycle I worry that I'm not DTD at the right time! (Or taking enough vitamins, or cutting down sugar, or limiting stress enough etc etc 😉) From what I've read, unless your partner has a bad sperm count, every 2-3 days is meant to be fine so you are still very much in the game! I just think we are all plagued with guilt that it's something we are, or are not, doing and its so difficult to get those thoughts out of your head.

Have you been able to track ovulation recently?

And thank you for asking about the marathon 😊 I am looking forward to it now, but REALLY looking forward to getting it over with haha. I've prepared as much as I can, but long runs are such a mental effort, so trying to relax and clear my head today. Hopefully once I have a break from running it will help with TTC as apparently excessive running can harm progesterone levels (and my luteal phase is a bit on the short side so that could be part of the reason!)

LondonKez · 13/04/2019 15:39

Hi ladies!

How is everyone? It's been a while!

Good luck for your marathon tomorrow @PineappleC! What a huge achievement! Enjoy the rest once you're done and don't be too disheartened about being on cycle 7 - everyone is different. You are far fitter than most and although you may think you might be over doing the exercise, it's so important to be fit and healthy. You already have an advantage over me! Xx

@chikitiki don't worry. Don't put pressure on timing too much although I know it's easier said than done. You know your body can do this. It will happen again. And well done on the reduced screen time - that's something I really need to get better at! Xx

I'm CD23, around 9dpo of cycle 9 (officially tracking, but since last January in total). Got all the normal PMS which is pointing to a bfn, but that's ok. We're just about to book a holiday and we both got promotions this month, so we'll treat ourselves to a celebration instead. It's our 10 year anniversary next week, so a bfp would be amazing, but we have lots to look forward to anyway x

ChikiTIKI · 13/04/2019 19:48

@PineappleC are we supposed to cut down on sugar?!?!?! well i didn't know that... i would certainly class myself as a sugar addict!

hmm yeah i have heard the same about long distance running though. however i dont know how hardcore you have to be for it to affect fertility... its not like youre running a marathon ever day are you? i am at the opposite end of the scale as i dont really exercise and have been doing such long hours at work (year-end, finance job) that i have been sitting down most of the time the last 2 weeks. first time i got pregnant, with my little girl, i cycles to work ever day and was the fittest i had been all my life. and that happened first cycle.

good luck with your marathon i will be thinking of you tomorrow xxxx

not been monitoring ovulation with OPKs however i think i have ovulated now this month. had EWCM for a few days and then yesterday it became very watery and today watery/creamy. cervix still a but open though. always so hard to tell. i am on CD18 of hopefully a 32 day cycle. was planning to keep DTD regularly at least until CD23 just to be sure.

Hi @LondonKez ! congratulations on the promotions and your anniversary :) lots to celebrate! and sounds like youre in quite a chilled mindset about TTC which is great. have fun booking the holiday! sounds lovely xxxx

OP posts:
ChikiTIKI · 15/04/2019 17:03

how was the marathon @PineappleC ? hope it went well and hope youre not too sore today xxx

OP posts:
PineappleC · 17/04/2019 18:23

Hi @Chiki 😊 The marathon went pretty well thanks, and am very glad it's over. Did it in 3hr43 which I'm pleased with! Thank you for asking 😊 I'm now having a well deserved rest and back to TTC! I was running around 40 miles a week in the last few months so was concerned this might be "excessive" for TTC purposes but I guess I will find out if things improve now that I'm decreasing my running! Annoyingly I have also picked up an injury "down below" from the run, something like a cyst/ingrown hair just below my bits (quite common when running or cycling a lot but something no one really talks about so it scared the hell out of me when I first got one!!) Anyway, it's my fertile week now and just means sex will be a bit uncomfortable. No positive OPK yet so hopefully it will go by then 😊

Re reducing sugar, it's one of these things that apparently helps (the idea is that sugar causes inflammation of the uterus which isn't good for implantation) but I never know whether these things are true or not, just try to do the best I can. I eat waaaay too much sugar so this is a difficult one for me.

That sounds really promising for your ovulation, and hopefully that means your cycle is well and truly getting back to normal 😊 How are you doing this week? You must be glad it's almost Easter...How have you found the lack of screen time!?

PineappleC · 17/04/2019 18:25

@Londonkez, good to hear from you and thanks very much! Huge congrats on your promotions 😊 Where are you off to on holiday?
