@MrsR16 sorry to hear that :(. AF has been bad for me too off the pill. Hot water bottles and lots of chocolate absolutely the way forward. Take care x

orangeloo · 22/02/2019 07:13

Don't give up @MrsR16 try find something to help with the pain- I'm sure you've tried them but I love heat patches for AF the direct to skin ones I find best. give yourself lots of tlc whilst your period is here. Hope it's eased today.

LikeTheFruit · 22/02/2019 07:51

Sorry to hear that @MrsR16, this TTC business can be the pits at times

I've woken up feeling pretty down about the whole thing. I'm CD 27 11DPO, had really sore boobs over the weekend (very odd for me) but they're completely back to normal now so sure AF will be round the corner now. I've also got a stinking head cold. So feeling sorry for myself. Need to get a grip!

Fuiseog · 22/02/2019 07:58

Hi everyone, Is there room for another obsessive TTC-er here? I’ve been lurking for a while but didn’t join initially because I was weirdly nervous about it, and also if I’m honest I was hoping I’d be a lucky Cycle 1 person and wouldn’t need to join a forum for support!
I’m 31, TTC #1 and on Cycle 2. Currently 8DPO. Cycle day is way harder to guess this month though Confused. Joining today as an alternative to testing early Grin. Lurked a bit last month to learn about the TTC process - and wow, I learned a lot!!! - but then bowed out and really hoped I would just catch first month. Now, I am fairly confident we guessed my FW was a week too early, so even though we would probably have been covered for the dates, we wouldn’t have been as well covered. This month, got horrifically sick during my FW so definitely not as many opportunities as last month, but I did use an OPK (Clearblue) and got a smiley and we DTD on my first static smiley day/peak, so I’m crossing every finger and limb that it was perfectly timed and something stuck!!! I am starting to crack though, can’t stop obsessing over it, so thought I would come back to MumsNet and join this time... hopefully finding likeminded people will make me less liable to feel insane! These days feel loooong waiting to test- keep coming back to look at my FF app calendar later in the day only to realise it’s the same day with nothing new to see or add!
Anyway, long introduction - as you can tell, I am already in the grip of mania Wink.
Read a lot on here about pee receptacles here this morning?! (Great terminology- made me laugh!). Does everyone use that method?! I was just sticking the test under me mid-flow last month Blush. Am I missing important info?! Moved house recently and of course donated so much stuff so I’m racking my brains now to think of a pot I won’t need for anything else Grin.

BostonFern · 22/02/2019 08:08

Morning all.
Got 'the pot' out, POAS and it's BFN. So I'm guessing AF is going to show up today or tomorrow.

@MrsR16 sorry AF arrived. Be kind to yourself too.

@Fuiseog welcome!

TrashKitten10 · 22/02/2019 08:23

@Fuiseog There's always room for one more! I stalked mumsnet for so long before joining but this thread has been great. I, like many others on here, haven't told anyone we are TTC and there's only so much talking about OPKs that DH is interested in having. But the ladies here will analysis your mucus, symptoms, cramps and pee sticks with you until the cows come home. It definitely is very easy to get obsessed though! I know what you mean about checking the apps multiple times a day haha.

What terrible timing for you getting sick during your FW. Sounds like managing to Dtd on your static smiley day has given you a good chance though :)

As for the pee receptacles haha, I think it's fine to do it either way. My OPKs said to hold the stick in the urine for ten seconds though. DH says I'm the most uncoordinated and clumsy person he's ever met and I knew that by the time I'd missed the stream of wee, pissed on my hand, sworn a bit and probably dropped the stick down the toilet I wouldn't have ten seconds of urine left to give. So a piss pot it was 😂

@BostonFern Sorry to hear that :( You're not out yet so FX for you x

MrsR16 · 22/02/2019 08:35

@DayDreamer1707 @CookieWaffle @TrashKitten10 @wildrabbit @orangeloo @LikeTheFruit @BostonFern thanks so much ladies! Kicked myself up the arse, put my big girl pants on and re-educated myself! 😊 feeling better today. I was so tempted to go home yesterday - I couldn't concentrate on my work because I was in that much pain! But I only get 5 paid sick days a year and god forbid I struggle if when I get pregnant, I need to keep them unused as much as possible!

You're all diamonds... don't know what I'd do without you girls sometimes!

@Fuiseog welcome to the craziness 😂

Lozzlepop · 22/02/2019 08:42

@DayDreamer1707 yeah I think you can manage peeing in a pot alone lol!

@LokiCat yeah really enjoying it, we only have 2 episodes left though 😭glad you are feeling ok about everything and hopefully you have some answers soon.

@LuckyPenguin are you feeling better today?

@MrsR16 sorry to hear AF arrived, yeah I was feeling the same yesterday the pain was awful - you forget that when you have been on the pill but we need to stick at it and we will get there!

@fusieog welcome ☺️

We've made it to Friday ladies, I am out for a meal and a well deserved glass of wine tonight, AF does have her benefits I guess!

JellyBaby666 · 22/02/2019 08:45

Hi guys, I popped in last month (with a different username) but as I can't get back into it for some reason.... we'll go with this!

Last month was our first cycle and I had the naive optimism I'd be that smug pregnant person who got pregnant the first go round... was I heck! I well and truly got my hopes up. I could kick myself for it! I knew beginning of this week though that no amount of peeing on early response sticks would give me a positive, and it didn't, I came on yesterday as predicted and have THE WORST period pains.

Made all the worse by lovely news my SIL has had a baby girl today. But I feel like social media is just full of baby announcements, and I know I'm so early in the journey but I've wanted a baby for so long it's really hard not to feel deflated.

Anyway. Hi all!

Lozzlepop · 22/02/2019 08:59

@JellyBaby666 Hi 👋🏻and welcome! Oh I think we have all been there, I was the exact same then AF appeared and yesterday I felt so awful, the pain was ridiculous - makes you wonder how we can cope with actual childbirth 😂Onwards and upwards to Cycle 2 though🤞🏻

OhMarnie · 22/02/2019 09:02

welcome to the madness @JellyBaby666 😊

PeacockingAbout · 22/02/2019 09:07

@DayDreamer1707 either way it's a great sign, fingers crossed for 15DPO today xx

@LuckyPenguin that all sounds hopeful x

@thumper59 sorry work is crazy! I'm going with mid-tww cramping being a good thing. You're due AF on Monday aren't you?

@daisiesandpeonies PMS sucks at the best of times. Hope you feel better soon xx

@KatBeCool ah, that's a less fun roster of side effects! Get some chocolate in! Hoping its done its magic - extra EWCM is a good sign.

If it makes you feel any better, my pee receptacle of choise is plastic shot glasses from the pound shop - which I feel says something about me that's not quite true! Ramekins feels more classy!

@wildrabbit hope you get some answers from the Drs

@MrsR16 I'm sorry to hear that AF has arrived. Take care of yourself. I've not been on any hormonal contraception for over 6 years, and my periods are more variable in pain 'au natural' than when I was, but they did get less painful than when I was just off it, it took a while but they did. Cocktail of aspirin, ibuprofen and paracetamol and hot peppermint or redbush tea (and chocolate!). x

@LikeTheFruit hope you feel better soon. Its disheartening and a cold makes everything worse.

@BostonFern so sorry for the BFN. You're not out till AF sings, holding out hope for you.

@Fuiseog welcome! If we're all mad we've just redefined sanity Grin the 'pots' are only necessary for an OPK, you can do a HPT in flow so to speak. But if you've already ruined a chow main tub you might as well make it worth it Wink

I've woken up feeling quite blah, 9DPO and nothing really to spot. Am also concerned about if I do get my BFP this month or next, I will be due the worst possible time for me to be off at work and my colleague is going to be on mat leave at the same time. Almost tempted to take a cycle off if nothing doing time. Sad

BabySquid · 22/02/2019 09:11

OMG @TrashKitten10 that's hilarious about your being uncoordinated and not getting 10 seconds of pee!!
@Fuiseog WELCOME 👋🏻 I tried OPKs the first time this month and used a 'receptacle' for the majority, but the two times I didn't and just put the stick mid stream, it seemed to get a better result. - but that may have been the days I can't tell!
@JellyBaby666 also WELCOME 👋🏻 I feel exactly the same, DH and I were so naive last year and didn't DTD before our honeymoon in case of having a zika baby! 10 months later I'm still here!! I also feel like social media is full of baby and pregnancy at the mo, but maybe it's coz I'm at 'that age'!! (I hate that term and my mother uses it all the time!!)

So girls I'm now 8dpo AF due a week today and I'm still slightly optimistic! I'm hoping the threat of going to the drs next month is going to somehow work!! 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤞🏻
Happy Friday ladies xx

thumper59 · 22/02/2019 09:38

@PeacockingAbout yeah I'm due Monday, but believe I ovulated late. However I'm not to know as Haven't properly tracked ov yet with it being second cycle. I may test with FRER Sunday, I'll be 10DPO? Or maybe I should just be patient.😂.

How is everyone? Is anyone testing today? I keep loosing track with not getting on here much during the day and falling asleep at 8pm on a night!

thumper59 · 22/02/2019 09:41

One thing I have noticed is I'm very ratty at the moment 🙄 poor OH can't really say anything without me jumping down his throat.. some of it just because he is a nob head but others maybe less deserving. I don't usually get overly ratty and not until AF has started so let's see.. I very nearly text kicking off this morning that he hadn't liked my picture on Instagram but I saw he'd liked someone else's 😂😂 Christ. I am currently 'that' psycho girlfriend 😂😂

Lozzlepop · 22/02/2019 09:48

@thumper59 hahaha because he is a nob head 😂love it!!

orangeloo · 22/02/2019 09:50

Welcome @JellyBaby666 & @Fuiseog @Fuiseog we are very similar 31,cycle 2 & I'm 7dpo but I did have a little spot yesterday 🤔 I too check FF app multiple times a day even though nothing's changed and yes so thought I was pregnant last cycle. It doesn't take long to go crazy on the ttc journey but I think I'm much calmer this month.

thumper59 · 22/02/2019 09:58

@Lozzlepop he is! I bloody love the bones of him I really do but god he knows how to frustrate me 😂 finding it hard to bite my tounge this week. And if my mouth doesn't say it, my face does 😂 maybe I'm sleepy and grouchy haha

granddesigns · 22/02/2019 10:02

@thumper59 I totally know what you mean. I've been super busy this week and home late but lost the plot with dh last night as he has been up early every morning, came home at 2 and hadn't done anything to tidy the house before visitors today. I got home at 9 wanting to go to sleep but had to put away 3 loads of washing piled up in the spare room they are staying in before I could go to sleep. Was really angry and totally unreasonable! Opened the door to literally the sight of him making me angry even though I don't feel like that at all - draw on af day, or testing and the new cycle (or even better a bfp but am not feeling at all sure of that!)

starkid · 22/02/2019 10:15

7DPO and AF due on Tuesday, so I feel I'm now allowed to start symptom spotting to my hearts content Grin
So far just really sore boobs/underarms, but of course that's also an AF sign...

starkid · 22/02/2019 10:45

I ovulated a few of days earlier than usual this cycle, so my app has adjusted to expect AF on cd26 rather than the usual 29ish, based on my previous luteal phase lengths I presume?
Just wondering if the isoflavones would have had this effect or not, and whether my cycle will actually still be the same length as normal, or it'll really be that short this month? Means I'm torn between waiting til AF is late according to Clue to test, or waiting til my typical cycle length has passed to test...

Of course I'm saying all this, and it'll likely arrive bang-on Tuesday morning anyway 😂

DayDreamer1707 · 22/02/2019 11:09

Sorry TMI alert. Me and my OH DTD last night and there was a bit of blood, not had anything since but think AF is on her was 😢

Fuiseog · 22/02/2019 11:19

Thank you all for the welcome! @Trashkitten I never thought a sentence with mucus, symptoms, cramps and pee sticks could be so kind and welcoming but it really was 😂 Sorry to all struggling with AF at the moment. I think it’s an extra kick in the teeth to have to deal with the pain and symptoms as well as the disappointment. I hope you all have some nice things lined up to offset the negative! I made sure I had wine in last month - a well-timed Tesco delivery!

@thumper I think we are the same DPO and almost same as @orangeloo but I am probably going to cave and rest tomorrow. I know it’s better to wait but I do not have any willpower apparently when it comes to POAS!!! 🙈😂 I think maybe it would be easier if I knew when I was due AF but I have no idea!

My cycle was 30 days before the pill (pretty regular), but last month was my first month off it. I never used to really spot before I came on, but last cycle I started spotting and cramping (like CD1 cramps) on CD31, then although the cramping continued I saw almost nothing till CD35. That day I was sure it was starting properly and had something between spotting and light flow, and then again it stopped for two days!
(This is so much info, sorry!). So in the end when it came on without stopping FF counted that as a 37 day cycle - and then I only had four full days when I’d normally have a week or even over. Also I seem to have ovulated CD11, which would be very early! So I’m wondering if I should be counting the cycle from earlier, like CD35, which would make my ovulation a more normal time and my cycle a more normal length. But with me wondering if I should count from CD35 and count a 30 day cycle like I used to have on the one hand, and FF counting it at a 37 day cycle and predicting my next will also be 37 days on the other hand, I could be due AF any time between March 3rd - 13th, so I definitely will not have the willpower to wait to test till I’m late as I won’t even know for sure when that is!!! To confuse the matter, I drank a decaf coffee 5DPO and had nausea and even gagging for an hour after but didn’t know whether it was a leftover from being sick last week or a very early sign of being pregnant😂 Also had EWCM 5DPO which was so confusing. So basically I have no idea what my body is doing 😂🙈 It’s so funny because I wouldn’t have cared at all before TTC but now I’m obsessing and wishing I knew my dates exactly. Anyway, think I have held out as long as I can to test - asked the hubs to pick up some FRERs today and expect I will test in the morning.

@PeacockingAbout I know the temptation to wait for work timing to be right - I had that for ages too, but finally decided that work is work at the end of the day. Feel a lot better for deciding to prioritise my personal life even though I do frequently get caught up and forget that!

Lozzlepop · 22/02/2019 11:21

@thumper59 don't they all lol!

@granddesigns that sounds exactly like my OH, I think he's used the washing machine in our house once and never cleaned the bathrooms or changed the bedding 😒

@DayDreamer1707 when is AF due? Thats what was happening to me- so frustrating!
