@starkid how weird I cross posted asking that with you! I'll put ovulation in tomorrow then I think 😊

DuchessofPemberley · 13/02/2019 18:55

I'm on cycle 7 now, and even though I did three one step ovulation tests a day I missed ovulation until my temperatures went up. So I guess I'm on to cycle 8 once AF comes in ten days or so.

I know there's a chance because we did BD on my ovulation day (by complete accident)but I've kind of accepted it's not my month so emotionally it's easier to stay there.

Either way, I'm now part of the minority that don't get pregnant in the first six months of trying. I'm starting to worry I have fertility issues, but most doctors won't run tests until you're a year trying, right?

Apologies, I know there are people here trying longer than me.

starkid · 13/02/2019 19:54

Ladies, would you say this is a positive opk? Will BD tonight and do another test tomorrow lunchtime as well, but am thinking they are the same colour?

@DuchessofPemberley - don't give up on this cycle yet, it only takes one sperm! xx

TrashKitten10 · 13/02/2019 20:06

@DuchessofPemberley You sound a bit down lovely, sorry to hear that you missed ovulation. There's still lots of people who don't conceive after six months who go on to conceive perfectly naturally a bit later. It's 12 months before you go to the doctor for a reason, try not to get demoralised.

@starkid That definitely looks positive to me!

DH has just contributed his part of the TTC process shall we say. But, shock horror, things sort of 'spilled out'. Him: STUFF IT BACK IN! Me: OMG, I'll do a shoulder stand, grab a pillow QUICK. So now, rather than lying in a lovers embrace, I'm mumsnetting with my arse propped up on a cushion trying to encourage the swimmers in the right direction after their escape attempt and DH is watching football. They say romance is dead..

@TrashKitten10 😂😂😂😂 this is hilarious. What a mental image!!! That is true dedication!!!

starkid · 13/02/2019 20:13

@TrashKitten10 - 😂 - That's hilarious!
My DH and I have similar conversations... 'oh shit, I'm on top, now what?' 'Right don't move, we're going to have to slowly spin...' 'arghhhh quick quick grab the tissues, we're losing it!' 😂

KatBeCool · 13/02/2019 20:21

@starkid you ovulate 6-48 hours (on the broader range) after the surge, but your surge can also last for two days (I always keep testing until I see it go light). On average, about 12-18 hours after. Apps will put you at a day after the last (or the only) day of the surge. And the cramps you feel could be just from the follicle getting bigger. Our bodies can be so incredibly unhelpful in telling us what's happening and when.

KatBeCool · 13/02/2019 20:23

@TrashKitten10 ahh, yes, put it back in. 😂 That totally works. Wait till you sneeze. 🤧

Jessikka · 13/02/2019 20:29

For anyone keeping a stats log, I'm now cycle 2!

AF knocked lightly at the door this afternoon!

I shouldn't have answered 😂

BostonFern · 13/02/2019 20:29

@thumper59 that OPK looks positive to me!

@Iilana thank you

@AngeloMysterioso congratulations! 🎉🎉🎉

@TrashKitten10 he sounds very dedicated to ensuring the swimmers catch the egg!

CD19 and I think I should be 5 or 6 dpo. Feeling very tired today, I've been lying in bed since 7pm propped up by a mountain of pillows! I suspect it's because it's nearly the end of this half term and I need a break.

TrashKitten10 · 13/02/2019 20:31

@starkid @KatBeCool I'm snorting with laughter at 'we're losing it!' and cumsneezes 😂

starkid · 13/02/2019 20:34

@KatBeCool - Thanks, yes i'll keep testing tomorrow & for a couple more days to see if it gets lighter. It's a bit earlier than usual, but then maybe that was those cheeky isoflavones working their magic and giving me a (hopefully) longer luteal phase! That would be nice...
I don't have any cramps though, just a load of ewcm earlier on

starkid · 13/02/2019 20:34

@Jessikka - Aw no sorry to hear it xx

AngeloMysterioso · 13/02/2019 20:35

@starkid @KatBeCool I found that popping in my mooncup post-coitus helped prevent any... leakage Blush

LuckyPenguin · 13/02/2019 20:43

Evening all!

Hope you’ve all had a lovely day!

Is it too late to join this thread? First time poster. Learning the acronyms (I’m a teacher so my life is full of them!)

I’m 34, CD 17, 1 DPO second month of trying - so is that cycle 2? Hmm

TrashKitten10 · 13/02/2019 20:56

Welcome @LuckyPenguin! There are lots of us teachers on here so you and your acronyms are in suitable company ☺️

OP posts:
starkid · 13/02/2019 21:05

@AngeloMysterioso - That is rather ingenius

@@LuckyPenguin - Welcome to the thread, and yep that would be cycle 2 if you've already tried for 1 cycle and had your period, then onto the 2nd :)

BostonFern · 13/02/2019 21:07

Welcome @LuckyPenguin - another teacher here! We do love a good acronym 😂

AngeloMysterioso · 13/02/2019 21:13

Well I couldn't resist.

On my way home paid a visit to the official store of DHs football team (he's a die hard season ticket holder) and bought a little babygro. Going to give it to him tomorrow as a Valentine's gift Smile

thumper59 · 13/02/2019 21:16

Haha loving reading some of these 😂.

Don't see us DTD tonight. OH is tired and making it really obvious. I might just go to bed instead, waste of ovulation tests!

BabySquid · 13/02/2019 21:19

Welcome @LuckyPenguin

What's a mooncup like @AngeloMysterioso ? I thought about getting one but, does it sit ok? Is it hard to get in and out? And do you need to empty and wash it at work?

So I think I've got a close positive opk... I'll attach a pic, lemme know what you experts think?? I had to do it later than usual tho, like I only did it about 8:30, usually do it at 5:15 when I get home, but today was nail day then I had to eat! Do you think the time would make a difference??

TTC FIRST BABY - Thread 13!
AngeloMysterioso · 13/02/2019 21:21

Aww @thumper59 that's so frustrating isn't it. Happened with my DH more than once.

AngeloMysterioso · 13/02/2019 21:25

@BabySquid I'd never used one before, actually bought it for this purpose... it's funnel shaped and made of rubber, you sort of fold it and put it in and it unfolds and just sits there. You can't really feel it. Getting it out can be tricky but that's probably just because I don't have my technique down yet! I still did the whole legs against the wall thing but it was nice knowing I could get up and get a glass of water or go to the loo without leaking everywhere. You do have to rinse it out but I haven't actually used it for AF yet so that'll be a first for me!

starkid · 13/02/2019 21:28

@AngeloMysterioso - Aw that's too cute Smile (the babygrow, not moon cup! 😂)
