Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@cookielove I'm also thinking the tests are a sign 😂😊

@NoseringGirl have they said why they're happy with just three times a year? Xx

NoseringGirl · 26/04/2019 21:33

@cookielove I do, I go through so many! I also track my temps (with an Ava bracelet). I'm a data junkie!

@cupcakesandglitter not really, just that it's a concern/there are risks if I go too long without a bleed. No idea why it's that many a year though!

dragonmummy17 · 26/04/2019 22:28

Hi everyone can I join please. TTC #2 for a year, one BFP that ended in mc at Christmas otherwise nothing. AF arrived today and I'm sad and fed up. Work is super stressful and full of pregnant people and I'm struggling. Plus this cycle was only 21 days which is stupidly short
I have a GP appointment in a couple of weeks. I went in November and had 21 day tests done but now I'm not sure they were done on the right day. I had them done CD22 but my cycle is usually 24-25 days... shouldn't they have been done earlier? I didn't worry too much at the time because I got my bfp.

NoseringGirl · 26/04/2019 22:43

Welcome @dragonmummy17 those day 21 tests should be done at 7DPO so if you know when you ovulate it's easier to get them accurate. If your cycle was 25 days and you've got a 10 day LP (for example) then CD22 would've been spot on. If you've got a 14 day LP then it would've been a bit late. Do you do any ovulation tracking? Hope your appointment goes well!

cupcakesandglitter · 26/04/2019 22:55

Ah that makes sense @NoseringGirl still annoying though 😩

Hey @dragonmummy17 sorry you're on here too. As nosering said, should be 7dpo x

cookielove · 27/04/2019 12:23

@NoseringGirl do you check twice a day? I check in the morning and around 3/4 depending where i am!

I have a friend who has really long cycles and i am trying to get her to check more regularly. As she is ttc but only half hearted. I think opk's would really help her pinpoint when to try.

Hello dragonmummy17 Smile

NoseringGirl · 27/04/2019 12:55

@cookielove I do most days, mid morning and late afternoon usually. When the lines start to darken I end up checking even more! I can't get my head around people not being completely obsessive about TTC, I'm too far gone at this point 🤣

cookielove · 27/04/2019 13:17

@NoseringGirl yes that is me exactly!! I love poas!!

I think she gets down hearted not seeing a 2nd line! Tbf her opks are faint. But she needs to do it every day to see some results!

NoseringGirl · 27/04/2019 13:32

@cookielove I do it every day and never get results 😂 I couldn't not though. The not knowing is worse for me than any negatives. False hope is the worst.

dragonmummy17 · 27/04/2019 20:17

@cupcakesandglitter @NoseringGirl I think my lp is usually 12-13 days based on opks and tracking cm. I think I will ask it to be redone and see what she says

impatientmammy · 28/04/2019 13:42

Hope your all doing ok. Sorry I've not been on in a while I'm feeling totally ttc disheartened at the moment. Think I'm due to ovulate in the next couple of days. I'm sure this time next week I'll be telling you all how I'm pregnant 🙄 x

dragonmummy17 · 28/04/2019 21:06

What do you all do to support your mental health? I'm really struggling. Been to a meet up with my nct group from when I had DS... 2 already pregnant and the rest discussing when they were planning for DC2... I couldn't even open my mouth to get words out. I'm even starting to dread dtd as it feels so forced...

NoseringGirl · 29/04/2019 13:26

@impatientmammy I hope your TWW goes quickly and ends well 🤞🏻

@dragonmummy17 the thing I find helps the most is having somewhere like this to vent. I can't just stop thinking about it or focus on other things etc. So being able to talk to others who understand that really helps.

impatientmammy · 29/04/2019 17:28

@dragonmummy17 I've told everyone who's important to me now. It hasn't made a lot of difference but it's nice that it's not a secret and it's out there. I wish more people spoke about it tbh. I always thought you either could have kids really quick or you need ivf and forgot all the in-between. Been trying 18 months now with a chemical in January. My little boy was a "surprise" 🙄. Sorry your finding it hard at the moment hope someone here gets lucky soon x

impatientmammy · 29/04/2019 17:32

Also random but has anyone else on here decided no more contraception even once this baby we're waiting for comes? I had years of migraines and mood swings thanks to the pill then after my son a coil that ruined my sex drive now I'm thinking I'm not fertile anyway so fuck it 🤷🏻‍♀️ my other half was a bit shocked when I broke the news to him 😂 x

NoseringGirl · 29/04/2019 22:04

@impatientmammy yes! My mental health is at it's best when my PCOS is well controlled and I'm not on hormonal contraceptives. I found after my youngest was born, the doctors I saw were quite pushy about wanting me to take contraceptives but I really wasn't keen and have stayed off them. They kept pushing the coil but I'm not keen on that, even the copper one which is hormone free. I use a menstrual cup and no one can tell me if it's compatible and my GP just looked at me like I was mad when I asked. My moods were all over the place for years and I'm convinced it was the various contraceptives I've been on. I'm clearly not very fertile so I'm not worried! My MIL likes to warn me there's a surge of fertility before the menopause but at this rate, I'll still be TTC by then anyway 🤣

dragonmummy17 · 30/04/2019 12:42

@impatientmammy I don't like hormone contraceptives so we were using condoms before ttc. I hate them but they were the best of a bad job.

cupcakesandglitter · 30/04/2019 21:04

Sorry for disappearing ladies, thought I was pregnant and then AF has pretty much turned up 🤷🏻‍♀️

I'm not going to use contraception ever 😂 don't think there's any point really. How depressing 😂😩

NoseringGirl · 30/04/2019 21:19

@cupcakesandglitter hope you're okay lovely. Sounds like an emotional rollercoaster. Has AF arrived completely or is it just spotting? Had you tested?

cupcakesandglitter · 30/04/2019 21:55

@NoseringGirl I'm okayish thankyou ❤️ just spotting atm, started last night as light really watery pink cm and then turned to brown spotting today, which means full flow should be here tomorrow... (sorry if that's TMI) I did test a few days ago and BFN, but my boobs are sore all over (which I've never ever had before, I didn't know what breast pain was really) and they are HUGE too - I was convinced I was and that I felt implantation and everything but I guess it's just my body messing up again 😂 how are you?

NoseringGirl · 30/04/2019 22:14

@cupcakesandglitter I'm so sorry your body is messing with you. It's so cruel. I'm still keeping everything crossed for you that full AF stays away! No such thing as TMI on TTC threads as well 🤣
All still the same here. CD91 today. Tomorrow will mark 1 year of TTC. Not an anniversary I'm excited about but I'm well aware there are others who have been in it a lot longer so trying not to feel too sorry for myself.

cupcakesandglitter · 30/04/2019 23:41

@NoseringGirl thankyou, will report back on flow tomorrow 😂 sorry to hear that 😩 if AF turns up for me then I'm cycle 12 so I can relate - so sorry you're in this position too. I feel 100% for people that have been trying for a lot longer, but don't be too hard on yourself either for feeling crappy about it, a year is a bloody long time in the world of TTC xx

cupcakesandglitter · 01/05/2019 09:50

Update: so I've stood up and completely soaked through everything. AF is definitely here... I ALWAYS had really badly heavy and painful periods and then when I got the implant it all changed. The pros of the last cycle; I knew when I'd ovulated because of my clear change in EWCM, and going by AF I know now that I was right. I ovulated on CD13 which is a first for me, and this gives me a 14 day LP. I'm in so much pain I want to cry BUT I also feel a little at peace because I think this is the first time in two years since I've come off contraception, that I actually had a normal cycle. Maybe my period being as heavy as it used to is a good thing? I'm not sure. I don't know what to feel 😂

NoseringGirl · 01/05/2019 10:02

@cupcakesandglitter I'm sorry AF got you but it sounds positive (as positive as a period can be anyway) and that you might be heading back towards a normal cycle! I always take heavier bleeds as a good sign for me as breakthrough bleeding after an anovulatory cycle tends to be lighter. I remember the period after the first time I ovulated on clomid. It was horrific! I hadn't ovulated in years so my body obviously went all out in celebration 🤣
Hope you can take it easy today!

cupcakesandglitter · 01/05/2019 10:05

Thanks @NoseringGirl I've definitely had cycles where I didn't ovulate and my period was barely there so I can relate!! I'm hoping this is a good sign, but only next cycle will tell me that 😂 I'm going to have to take sick leave today even though I'm wfh, I'm in too much pain 😩
