Yammers thread 10!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

  • Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day
  • Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only
  • Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways
  • Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month
  • Thou shalt not be offended by strong language
  • Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams
  • Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night
  • Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

Vit c
Reducing caffeine

Sorry posting this a bit late, but a friend who's husband had sperm issues. Had her husband reduce his caffeine and up his vit c. He went on 1000mg but they actually did a control group that had 2000mg. It did actually help.

Also, for sperm concentration and motility, there is some research on CoQ10 as well.

todaywasafairytale · 16/04/2019 20:55

Just checking in ladies, hope everyone is okay 💕

NoseringGirl · 17/04/2019 10:01

@todaywasafairytale no change here, haven't ovulated and no AF. Standard 🙄
How are you?

todaywasafairytale · 17/04/2019 19:35

@NoseringGirl I'm ok thanks, just patiently waiting on AF arriving so we can try again next cycle. I know I won't be pregnant this month, but of course I'm a day late for no bloody reason. Grrrr.

NoseringGirl · 17/04/2019 19:58

@todaywasafairytale you were doing OPKs weren't you? Guess you could maybe still have ovulated later than you thought? I wouldn't be able to resist testing anyway!

todaywasafairytale · 17/04/2019 22:19

@NoseringGirl I have been using OPKs but I think we DTD too wearily, then too late. I took an IC this morning at 10dpo and BFN. I would honestly pass out with shock if I was 😂

I'm meeting my very pregnant friend this week who started trying after we did. I've managed to avoid her for a few months which I feel so guilty about but it's so hard hearing all about other people's pregnancy too. I guess a consolation is that I can have wine this holiday weekend and she can't 😆

cupcakesandglitter · 18/04/2019 00:17

Hey @todaywasafairytale nothing new here, just done a shitload of travelling in the last week. (Nothing special, just for work). I've had a tonne of EWCM in the last few days, not sure why, don't usually get it, but we aren't trying this month so doesn't really matter. Are you still in limbo? Enjoy all the wine!!! X

@NoseringGirl sorry to hear you've not had anything yet, what CD are you? X

todaywasafairytale · 18/04/2019 07:32

Used a FRER this morning and BFN, presuming AF will come today.

That's just typical @cupcakesandglitter.

cupcakesandglitter · 18/04/2019 09:06

Tell me about it 😒 @todaywasafairytale sorry for the BFN, you're only 11dpo so maybe you're still in with a chance!!

NoseringGirl · 18/04/2019 18:00

@todaywasafairytale sorry for the BFN! Still early days, how long is your luteal phase usually?

@cupcakesandglitter I'm either CD24 if I count that few days of spotting I had as a period or CD79 if I count from the last proper bleed. I've been feeling really emotional/moody/premenstrual for a few days now. I guess my hormones are all over the place.

todaywasafairytale · 19/04/2019 01:22

Leutal phase is usually 10 days which is on the short side so I'm wondering if that's what is making it difficult for us to conceive? But then I've read about doctors saying that doesn't matter, so who knows. I'm always very regular and AF always arrives when it should. I started taking new preconception vitamins (7 seas) so maybe that's lengthened things. I've had spotting late on tonight, which I'm guessing means the start of AF but I never usually get spotting. I def don't think I'm pregnant so I think it must be these new vitamins.

I have one more cycle before we go on holiday, then one more cycle following that before it's been one year. Just always thought it'd have happened by now. This TTC stuff is heartbreaking when so many others around you started trying after you did and are already pregnant. Gahhh!

todaywasafairytale · 19/04/2019 01:24

@NoseringGirl hopefully the PMT means your ready to ovulate? I would count the spotting as your hormones at least doing something because spotting must mean your shedding part of your lining, of that makes sense?

NoseringGirl · 19/04/2019 15:20

@todaywasafairytale it really is heartbreaking! My LP (when I actually ovulate) is 10 days too. Apparently anything from 10-16 days is fine. I've heard people say that their cycles have changed after being on preconception vitamins so it could be that. How's things today?
I'm not getting anywhere near positive on OPKs so I don't think I'm near ovulation yet. These anovulatory cycles are so boring. I don't even feel like I'm TTC as there's no egg to try and catch. Just in very dull limbo.

cupcakesandglitter · 25/04/2019 12:53

Hey ladies, just checking in. How're you all doing?

NoseringGirl · 25/04/2019 15:42

Hi @cupcakesandglitter 👋 I'm still in limbo. Had a couple of days of feeling like AF is coming (cramps etc) but nothing yet. How are you?

cupcakesandglitter · 25/04/2019 16:00

Hey @NoseringGirl I'm good thanks - still have sore nips and I'm super bloated. I think I ovulated on CD14 so I think AF will be here next week. Sorry you're still in limbo 😩 what CD are you? X

NoseringGirl · 25/04/2019 17:26

I'm CD86 if counting from the last proper bleed or CD31 if counting from the spotting. OPKs are completely negative. I need to get better at eating low carb. I know it will help if I can stick to it. I've had zero will power over Easter though.
I hope AF stays away for you!

cupcakesandglitter · 25/04/2019 19:48

Oh man 😩 have you spoken to the GPs about it? Sorry if you've said it before x

NoseringGirl · 25/04/2019 20:14

Yeah, I'm back on metformin (I've got PCOS and it's helped before) and hoping that will help too. It's frustrating because I'd managed to get my cycles regular and ovulatory last year but then I had an early miscarriage last July and they've been all over since then. I know my body can do it but I'm struggling to get back. I'm worried my age (36) isn't helping either. Obviously women older than me have babies but I feel like my PCOS gets worse the older I get.
Sorry for the whinge!

cupcakesandglitter · 25/04/2019 21:39

Don't be silly, that's exactly what this thread is here for. We're all here for you ❤️

NoseringGirl · 25/04/2019 21:51

Thank you ♥️
It's so good to be able to vent to people who understand.

cookielove · 26/04/2019 20:17

@NoseringGirl i am pretty sure there is a drug you can take that will kick start your period! Is that something you think you could take?

I am cd 19 and 2dpo! And so the wait begins!!

Also i ran out of opks and got a mate to order some off Amazon, but i got Pregnacy tests instead. Let them know and has it reordered and i got more pregnancy tests!!!

🤔🤔

NoseringGirl · 26/04/2019 20:57

@cookielove the pregnancy tests are clearly a sign Grin hope you're TWW passes quickly and ends well!
There is a medication to kick start a bleed but as long as I'm having at least 3 periods a year (which I am) the GP is happy with that. The medication tricks your body into thinking you've ovulated so you get a bleed. I don't think there'd be any advantage as I'd just be back where I am now with the same chance of ovulating (or not as the case maybe). It's only to avoid issues with the lining building up for too long apparently.

cookielove · 26/04/2019 21:04

@NoseringGirl that makes sense!
Do you test with opk's everyday?

I would love that 😂 but i am already thinking of next month presuming i am not pregnant Confused
