TTC February (out this month)

Who’s with?

Things I’m changing... massive coffee reduction... swapping from stevia, as I’ve read it can maybe have a contraceptive effect and I probably have about 8 teaspoons a day ....

Ava pregnancy calculator now says it should take us an average of 4 months.

This will be month 3.

We DTD virtually every day during the fertile window, and about two-three times during ‘peak’. Maybe I’ll give him a break 🤣

I’ve also reduced my exercise slightly.

This month we used pre-seed and I bought opks.

Partner has bought a home fertility test that’s arriving on Monday.

What’s everyone else doing?

AF arrived this morning so this will be my second cycle ttc #2.
Feel a bit down today, going to have pizza for lunch and watch trashy tv when ds goes for nap.
Diet starts tomorrow, I need to lose some weight.
We use conceive plus lubricant and clear blue dual digital monitor. Dtd 6 times last cycle, once 'for fun' and 5 times in the fertile window.

BomBanna · 20/01/2019 20:19

Hi @kaytee87

Did the pizza work? Can relate to feeling a bit blue (ttc and Monday to contend with). I’ve been an angry demon this weekend 😳- poor partner!

Ah well.. at least the current insomnia may pay off tonight: super blood red wolf moon early morning... Fingers crossed 🤞 our month is February 💖.

Hello! It's my first month TTC, still waiting on my first proper af after stopping the pill in Dec but if it's a normal cycle it should be this weekend fx.

I've bought some cheap opks and have the fertility friend app, just going to see what happens.

I was totally torn because I'm due to start a new job next week so getting pg straight away isn't ideal, March isn't ideal because DS's birthday is December but to be honest I'd rather TTC now than leave it any longer.

@BomBanna are you supposed to reduce exercise when TTC? I'm a keen runner (3-4 times a week) and run anything up to 10 miles but worried that might be too much? I've been covering those distances for a year now

TulipsTwoLips · 21/01/2019 08:29

I’m in! Over 40 but we’re determined Feb will be our month!

Good luck everyone 🤞🏼

Bluebell9 · 21/01/2019 09:31

I'm in for Feb. AF arrived for me yesterday.

This will be our second month ttc #1, but I had my coil out in August.

I've reduced my caffeine too and swapped to decaf tea.

Fingers crossed for everyone.

Lost5stone · 21/01/2019 09:39

I'm in for Feb too. Don't ovulate until late Feb though.

We have a holiday booked for Sept (lots of family going) and can't travel over 32 weeks so we are waiting til Feb in case I do end up pregnant straight away.

Will see how we get on after a couple of months before I cut out caffeine Blush! I eat LCHF which I think I have read is helpful with TTC. It will be no 2 for us and DD was conceived in first month so fingers crossed!

Shelleyxr2 · 23/01/2019 18:57

TTC beginning of Feb. Can’t wait! Good luck ladies x

hopeful31 · 23/01/2019 19:03

Hi can I join.
Af came yesterday.
Ttc 1
Age 31
Cycle 4
Cd2

Ordered bbt thermometer and pre seed lube.
Ttc is torture and everyone around me is pregnant

amehh · 23/01/2019 19:43

Glad to have a few people to chat to :) I'm just impatiently waiting for AF - was convinced it was coming last night and nothing, had a slight bit of pink when I wiped this morning and felt horribly pants but worn a pad all day and nothing! Not officially due until the weekend if I'm 28 days but this will be my real AF post pill and I don't remember being "teased" like this before I was on the pill hmph.

Really dreading proper AF cramps again Confused

Frizzy1986 · 23/01/2019 20:16

I think I'm in. Af has started to spot today even though not due until friday/sat. Cramping is sucking.
We are ttc #2 and are on month 3 although did ttc for 7 months last year and not even a whisper of pregnancy.
I think we've only got 2 months left before a 2 month break. Dd is an Xmas eve baby and no way I want another so planning to avoid (getting your foof stitched up on Xmas eve and Xmas lunch in hospital is an experience I don't want to repeat!)
She was a lucky first month attempt but not finding the same this time round.

Iamneverfull · 23/01/2019 20:32

Im going to hope for Feb, although we have been trying for 6 years! BUT.. we have both just had operations (my partner had a varicocele op and I had a lap and dye for endometriosis) its a 50/50 chance and this is our 2nd month since the ops ttc! Best of luck to everyone

PowerslidePanda · 23/01/2019 20:47

I'm in. Trying to TTC #2, second cycle. Things I'm doing differently this time:

  • Obsessing less - I've read that positive stress (i.e. excitement) is just as bad as negative stress for TTC. Our DD was conceived second cycle and I think its because I calmed down after the first one!

  • Adjusting when we DTD - pretty sure my fertile window last month ended up being not quite when I thought it was

  • Using the Fertility Friend app

Frizzy1986 - We're also trying for the next 2 months and then taking a 2 month break. We've got a holiday booked for May and I want to be either in my 2nd trimester or not pregnant at all, because in my previous pregnancy I had horrendous morning sickness during the first trimester.

Bluebell9 · 23/01/2019 20:49

I'm tracking my temp now. I used opk tests last month but didn't get a positive so I'm hoping tracking my temp will help me figure out when I'm ovulating.
Fingers crossed for everyone.

Gilly2505 · 24/01/2019 08:24

Hey! Pretty new around here.... signed up a while back but then life got a bit crazy.
Hubs and I have decided to try for #2. DS has just turned 6 so it’s been a while and I’ve forgotten a lot of stuff!
6 months ago I had 4 dermoid cysts removed from my ovaries. I lost my left ovary and tube but my right survived. We took it as a sign that we should try for another baby! Not sure how my fertility will be affected if at all. I’ve had regular cycles since my surgery and they’ve been shorter. Now I feel fully healed (I had open surgery not laparoscopic) we think it’s time!
I also have factor V Leiden, which means I’m more at risk of clotting.... I found out towards the end of my last pregnancy so may need medication throughout pregnancy.

I’m 32, ttc#2 and on cycle day 11. AF due around Valentine’s Day!!

Fingers crossed for everyone 🤞 xx

(I did post on another thread too)

amehh · 24/01/2019 10:02

@Frizzy1986 DH wants to not TTC in March also as my DS is 23rd (I got out on Christmas eve night) but I'm going with it'll happen when it happens. Yes it wouldn't be ideal but tbh no time will be ideal for a while for us - I'm starting a new job on Monday! - but I don't want to wait any longer in case I have any problems this time around (I had chlamydia for 2 years from my ex so could be looking at tube problems but they won't investigate until it's been a year)

Hey, I’m in too, but with a big negative head cos this will be cycle 24 of TTC #1 and I’m 36.
I’ve tried everything from OPKs, apps, pressed, reflexology, u name
It!
AF came yesterday so I’m so deflated at this stage. Bought a BBT kit - where is best to test temp? Which area? Know nothing about it just that it’s another way of tracking ovulation as I didn’t really get very clear positives using ovulation strips.
Any help?x

@evelineuk thank you so much. So just chart it every day from my mouth. And then is it when there’s a peak that I’m ovulating? I need to do it at roughly the same time every day correct? These are silly questions but the answers didn’t come with the kit. 36 doesn’t feel young when my cycles are so short (20-24days) and this is cycle 24!!

codenameduchess · 24/01/2019 17:14

Can I join too? Af not due for a few days but cycle 3 TTC no 2 with PCOS.
Last cycle I had no positive OPKs but 2 very nearly (which for me might be positive as that's what I had with DD) and EWCM at the right time but BFN on early test.

Haven't started temp tracking as the 3 year old is unpredictable so my get up time is erratic/chaotic
