awww those pups are so cute!

We's LOVE a dog but we both work full time and can't afford to pay someone to look after/walk them. We joined Borrow My Doggy before we got 2 more cats. It was so much fun looking after other dogs but then we got 2 kittens (and already had one cat) so had to knock the BMD on the head as our older cat was stressed enough with the two new ones.

Maybe when/if we retire. I'd love a dalmation.

oooo never heard of Borrow My Doggy, would you recommend it?

I am desperate to get a cat or 2 but DH said lets get the kids out the way first.

ratherbeshowjumping · 11/01/2019 12:21

Awww @tigsyboo @edidxb gorgeous babies... glad we have a lab club going on here...!
Here are my 3 terrors at their favourite spot ❤️ the pup is 7 months old today.

Frazzlerock · 11/01/2019 12:34

Yes I'd def recommend it @Twittle. And no need to wait for kids before getting animals. My two have grown up with animals. We got Phoebe when DS1 was about 2 years old. We got the next two (Seb and Patti) about 2 years ago. We also have a crested gecko called Ziggy.

@rather they are beautiful

I love dogs more than people! 💕

ratherbeshowjumping · 11/01/2019 12:40

Agree with you @Frazzlerock think it's fab for little ones to grow up with animals.
I love the names of yours!
Cedric is our pup, Lola is the other jack & Nala is the lab (DH had her before we met, he had no idea about the lion king, just liked the name 😂)
Very outing but the horses are Lewis Hamilton, Mr Gangles & Bentley ❤️ we've also got a shitland Shetland pony called Maisie, who's current job is to keep the big horses in check but will be promoted to DCs 1st pony when we finally have one 😬

Frazzlerock · 11/01/2019 12:44

Lol at Lewis Hamilton. I guess he's the fast one!

I have always wanted horses but 1. they are a very expensive hobby (as I'm sure you know!), and 2. I lived in London all my life until 2.5 years ago so not exactly horse friendly. I'd love to horse ride regularly but it's just so expensive. I did it when I was a kid though, used to ride around Hyde Park, which I loved.

I will grab photos of our puss cats...

I found one of Ziggy too 😝

Those markings 😍 what a gorgeous cat! Such a kind eye too!
Ziggy is beautiful. Would love a reptile but DH is really not a fan unfortunately. Does he come out much?

Lol yep, he got the name before I'd even broken him in but he's turned out to live up to it well - fast and very handsome and absolutely knows it 😂

Frazzlerock · 11/01/2019 13:15

Those are the three cats. Or big cat top left (Phoebe), then the twinnies bottom left (Seb) and right (patti)

Ziggy doesn't come out much, no. But the cats harass him (like sylvester and tweetie pie). DS2 pulls him out sometimes, and visitors love getting him out. He's very nocturnal anyway so probably comes out lots at night.

Ah!! I have a puss too... his name is Hugo, or Uggy for short. He's my ginger prince!! He's 14 and the king of the yard! 💕

This is my older girl Charlie. She's 6. We had a litter of pups out of her in 2015 - 5 little brown boys and the little black girl. We kept the girl - she's called Pippin 🥰

Aww loving all the animal pictures! I'd love to have a dog but, yeah, we don't have time to look after it properly.

We've got two house cats - Kin Kin (the tabby) and Tango (the ginger one). We've also got three cats who came with the house and live outside. We did try allowing them inside but one has a habit of spraying and they all fight with Tango. So Tango stays inside and the three stay outside. Kin Kin is the queen and goes wherever she pleases (currently trying to figure out how she gets out of the house when no-one is home to let her out).

Omggg Betty they're absolutely adorable!

TwittleBee · 11/01/2019 14:08

I think it's more because DH can't handle thought of having pets and young kids to look after all at once! DS is great with animals, he's grown up with a very jumpy and possessive Jack Russel at PILs so he knows about boundaries and loves the cats at my parents. I think he'd love to have his own pet. Maybe I'll persuade DH is be a 2nd birthday surprise....

These pet photos are making me very very mushy with animal love

tigsyboo · 11/01/2019 14:14

Tango!! What a brill nane!!

You know I was whinging about my group of friends not really giving a shit about our genetic results and our little boy?
Well, the one friend who did respond and sent me a lovely PM, has just popped round with a plant and an engagement card.
She said the plant represents the three bubbas we lost as there are three big shoots. There is also a fourth baby shoot which, she said, was for our next one.
Some people really are very special aren't they 💜

Now I need to try not to kill it!

How lovely, what a good friend Frazzle.

Tigsy haha thanks, it was either Tango or Julia (Tango because of her colour and Julia because she's very pretty and has a wide mouth like Julia Roberts 😂)

Twittle yes to birthday pets! I think it's nice for kids to grow up with animals.

Frazzlerock · 11/01/2019 15:02

@Twittle, maybe convince DH to get DS a reptile? They have basically no maintenance. Ziggy's tank gets cleaned out once every 6 weeks, and he gets a spray of water twice a day. He gets fed about every 3 days. They are supposed to like crickets as treats but Ziggy doesn't care for them. He's happy on his regular food which is basically dried fruit powder that you mix with water.
Hands down the easiest animal to have as a pet. But they do last for 20 years!

Oh Frazzle that’s lovely, I’m so glad you have such a good friend!

I have been busy today, and there’s so much on here to catch up on.... maybe later.

@Tigsy, I’m so sorry your DH is being such a dick, give I’m a slap! My DH is in a foul mood, he’s wfh today and was majorly pissed off cause I had some (very shrieky) girl friends over. And now one of my boys has a friend coming over which will piss him off even more 😁 We probably won’t talk all weekend now. 😬

We aren’t allowed a dog, DH won’t let us have one. But if we don’t manage to have a baby I intend to get a dog and I don’t give a shit what DH thinks. We do have 2 very cute rabbits, but no-one really give a shit about them anymore, so DH is left with all the rabbit duties (probably why he doesn’t want a dog). We have a run and hutch connected together with piping and a wire tunnel, so they are very spoilt rabbits. DH kept feeding them rabbit biscuits and last time they had their check up, one was officially fat, so is now on a diet 🤣

Rose68 · 11/01/2019 15:06

@Tigsy... that was meant to say give him a slap!

ratherbeshowjumping · 11/01/2019 15:47

Awww I think today has been my favourite day since joining this thread! I love these pictures... @Kinsters hilarious how you were going to call her Julia...! Tango is a gorgeous name. Charlie and Pippin are beautiful too @Betty.
110% cemented my firm belief that you're all my people!

@Frazzle, you have the most lovely, thoughtful friend. What a kind gift.

@Twittle yes to bday pets!

edidxb · 11/01/2019 17:52

LOVING all the animal photos and all the cats. I would also love a cat to go with our dog but she would chase it the whole time.....
Our dog is called Bebhinn which is Irish for "white lady" as she is female and Irish! My husband is British but also has an Irish passport and his parents and sister live in Ireland and his Mum's family are all Irish. Our dog was one of a litter of one of my best friend's Golden Labs. She accidentally got pregnant (oh the irony!) with the next door neighbour dog who was a Samoyed so our dog is half Golden Lab and half Samoyed. So she is basically a white Golden Lab with orange ears. My friend is Irish and it was her family dog so we shipped our dog from Ireland to Luxembourg where we were at the time and have had her since she was 3 months old and she is now 7 1/2!

@Frazzle - I love your friends xxx
