Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

xx

Well did a test at 3am. Went from 10-3 couldn’t hold any longer, still negative.
Now 5 days late, I’m now going to wait until Wednesday before I test again. I’m making myself crazy, just read online that antihistamines can give false negatives. I’ve been on them permanently for 8 years, they make it take longer for the hcg to show.
How’s everyone else doing?

tri2mum · 13/01/2019 10:12

So I started with a bit of spotting yesterday morning, was trying to stay positive and was hoping it was maybe a bit of implantation bleeding. Throughout the day it got more and first pee this morning passed a few clots. I'm trying to convince myself it's just my first AF since mc in Dec (30 days ago) but it looks and feels so similar. Would it be possible that we conceived straight after mc and this is now our 2nd mc? I hadn't taken any preg test's so can't be sure. Do you think I should wait now with ttc until next AF or just try again assuming this is AF? So confused.

lnfb · 13/01/2019 10:58

@Em39ma I'm sorry that you're going through this, you're doing the right thing by trying to wait it out until Wednesday xx

@tri2mum sending you hugs, I remember my first period since my miscarriage and it was so heavy compared to normal, I also spotted for two days beforehand which never happens to me. It's impossible to say if in your case you conceived straight after your miscarriage. Everyone's different as I say but in my miscarriage I noticed I passed a tiny amount of tissue which was distinct from clots. Sending you lots of hugs and positive energy-hoping you get the BFP you so deserve very soon xx

Hi All,

I want to join and share my story. My husband and I have been married for 7 months and have been TTC since then. It has been a really hard time for us since my Dad passed away in October. Exactly one month since he passed I got my positive pregnancy test. We couldn't believe we had conceived in the hardest month of our lives. Exactly one month later I had an emergency scan due to bleeding and we found out there was no heartbeat. I was 10 weeks and baby was 7.3.

I opted for a natural miscarriage and on NYE I passed my little baby. Last Sunday I still had a faint positive pregnancy test and today it is completely negative. So now I'm back to the fertility tracking and waiting for first ovulation.

lnfb · 13/01/2019 12:10

@Tryingforkittens. I'm so sorry this happened to you, sending you hugs and strength. Wishing you all the best on your ttc journey and wishing you a healthy and happy pregnancy very soon xx

Em39ma · 13/01/2019 14:28

Hi @tryingforkittens so for your loss.
@tri2mum My first period after my miscarriage I ended up back in hospital. Was large clots more than when I miscarried and I spotted for 3 days before and for 2 weeks after and the worst pain ever. And I walked on my broken leg for 6 weeks.
We are all different, but yours is sounding to me like your first AF since your mc.

lnfb · 13/01/2019 14:33

As for me girls, CD 28 today so about 4-5 days late and got a BFP this morning 4am FMU on a cheapie hcg strip & a cheap tesco too.
Want to be excited but trying to stifle it a bit, but doing my best to be positive and take each day as it comes.
My partner thinks I should take a clearblue digi tomorrow morning to see how many weeks I am as the tesco result was so strong but we'll see
xx

Tryingforkittens · 13/01/2019 15:35

Congrats on your bfp!

tri2mum · 13/01/2019 15:38

Thank you for the advice and kind words ladies. My DH thinks I should do a test tomorrow morning to see if it comes up positive but I think from having a read and what you've said I'm going with this being my AF. I never had a certain number of days to my cycle anything from 28-37, so 30 is about right.
Congrats as well @lnfb, everything crossed for you.

ale2992 · 13/01/2019 15:56

So I had a miscarriage in December and had a MVA last Wednesday. I bought ovulation tests to track, I've done 3 over the past 3 days and todays is positive, I had faint lines the two previous days but today is extremely darker than the previous.
Is it normal for me to be ovulating already?
My OH and I have decided to try after my next period as this is what was advised by the doctor who carried out my procedure on Wednesday but I wanted to start testing to track my cycle.
Any advice is appreciated

Tryingforkittens · 13/01/2019 17:24

@ale2992 are you doing the ovulation tests at the same time every day?

Have you had a negative pregnancy test since the miscarriage? Sometimes hcg can give a false positive LH test. I had these last week and now I know my hcg is 0 the next ovulation tests will be a true reading.

ale2992 · 13/01/2019 17:34

@Tryingforkittens
No haven't done a pregnancy test recently, was told to wait and do one on the 25th.
Yes doing them around the same time each day.

lnfb · 13/01/2019 18:15

Thanks so much everyone
@ale2992 from what I understand you can ovulate very soon after a miscarriage as I have heard of numerous women who have conceived that quickly after a miscarriage so ovulation test could very well be correct xx

Tryingforkittens · 13/01/2019 18:48

@ale2992 your timings sound quite similar to mine. I was told to do one after three weeks which would have been 23rd. But I wanted to test inbetween so I could see exactly when everything was happening. We aren't waiting for next period to try again so I wanted to see hcg go to 0 and then hopefully see ovulation with LH tests and temps.

Last Sunday my hcg was a very faint line and today nothing. Now I know for sure if hcg goes up again it's a new pregnancy.

Em39ma · 14/01/2019 15:05

Well still no AF, but got my blood test results.
Waiting for a call from the doctor as they have found something.
I’m guessing it the thyroid one, which might also explain my MC and my now lack of AF.
Only guessing, but not sure it’s going to be good news

lnfb · 14/01/2019 17:26

@Em39ma
Aww, hoping that whatever it is you can find a solution to fix whatever it is that they need to discuss, so you can enjoy a happy & healthy pregnancy very soon

Em39ma · 14/01/2019 18:36

Would be nice to get some answers.
All I normally get is your very pale, it probably just your iron level and vitamin D
Which I answer, I’m a red head, take off my whatch an let them see that actually I’m tanned, as I spend most of my day outside

glowingtwigs · 14/01/2019 19:38

Hi ladies,
Please may I join?
I'm 37, ttc baby number 1 and had a mc in early September. On cycle 5 now and 12DPO but don't think I'm pregnant again.
Am finding this all really really hard still, so need as much support as I can get!

@pandaobsessed I read your story via your link, thank you for sharing it. It is such a comfort to have other ladies to chat to who have gone through a similar experience. Xx

Em39ma · 14/01/2019 20:13

Welcome @glowingtwigs

Tryingforkittens · 15/01/2019 13:09

I've done an OPK today which is the first after completely negative pregnancy test. It is negative and my temps don't show I have ovulated yet. I think this shows my theory is correct that they were giving me false positives from hcg last week. I'll just have to keep testing and checking.

Em39ma · 15/01/2019 14:57

They could of been, my HCG was still 12, 8 weeks after my miscarriage.
They even thought I had fallen again.

pandaobsessed · 15/01/2019 18:57

@lnfb congrats on your BFP. I can totally understand you'd be nervous. But look after yourself and don't stress. I'm so happy for you!! 💕

Ladies I have a Q. So my cycle length on average is 29 days. Therefore when should I be ovulating? Or is there no definite answer? I've been doing an ovulation test since day 11 of my cycle and I'm now on day 17 with no positive so far 🤔

OP posts:
Newbie21 · 15/01/2019 19:07

@pandaobsessed ideally your luteal phase (first day after ovulation until AF) should be 10-14 days give or take so if you work back from day 29 that may give you an idea. Luteal phase usually only varies by a day for a woman but women have different "normals". Also sometimes you might not ovulate. Best way to check is temping though. First half of cycle can vary in length more.

You can also have a very quick hormone surge so can miss it sometimes.

Sorry not the most definitive answer.
