Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

xx

Thanks and sorry to hear about your struggles, I think we all need a bit of luck in the new year. Hows the ankle and bruises after your fall earlier in the week?

babybee2019 · 11/01/2019 18:10

Hello ladies, I found out 3 days ago we lost our baby at 5+2. I know this is going to sound bad but when can we try again? We don't want to hold our selfs down and be sad about it we just want to carry on xx

Hi everyone,

Sending everyone in here lots of love and good luck for TTC this year. Was looking for some advice and reassurance please.

I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks in my first pregnancy (TTC for 3-4 months) at the end of October last year and was so upset and confused and have had a lot of anxiety as a result about my fertility/ability to carry a pregnancy etc etc. I have also been obsessively testing in the luteal phase of each cycle since, welllll before my period is due ,which is not good for my mental health and makes me feel like I am going crazy!

I have had a two cycles since then and am currently day 26 of my usually 23-24 day cycle with no sign of period showing up. I am getting cramps in my lower abdo/behind my pubic mound similar to in my previously pregnancy, lots of CW dc (keep thinking it's my period starting), my boobs are really massive, and I'm also feeling pretty nauseous, especially when hungry. I have resisted the urge to POAS yet (my last pregnancy I got a negative with a cheapy on day 26 but then a positive until day 29 with CB digi in the evening saying 1-2 weeks).

So I think I should at least wait until day 29 FMU this time, but I'm thinking maybe I should just wait to test until it's past the same no. of days my last m/c so if I bleed I can just tell myself it is my period (even though my m/c was very different to any period so I guess I would 'know'). I know this sounds really weird but I guess it's protective in a way?

Any advice or similar experiences are so much appreciated.

Lots of love & baby dust

x

@lnfb sorry for your loss and what you are experiencing. The month before I conceived DS (very first month of TTC) and I didn't test anything and didn't even know my cycle length properly I had this weird bleed and the timing was all off but I wasn't to sure when I was due. I thought it was just a weird cycle. I now realise it was a Chemical Pregnancy.

I then had an MMC when TTC #2 and then a few cycles after TTC again after that I tested day after AF as due and it was a BFP but then just over a week later I started bleeding and lost it, another CP. the next cycle I got a BFP but then another MMC at 10 weeks - that cycle I didn't test until I was over a week overdue.

At the end of the day it doesn't really change anything but for me - I would never test before AF is due and would prefer to wait at least a week. Hope is better than disappointment. Best of luck xx

@Newbie21 Thank you so much for sharing your experience, it means a lot. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses and wishing you lots of luck in the future-I can't imagine how difficult it has been for you Flowers

I think I will definitely hold off until around the same time I tested before and if I can longer x

ale2992 · 11/01/2019 20:22

Suffered a miscarriage in December, going to start trying after I've had my period. Bought some ovulation tests to help and downloaded Flo also.

ale2992 · 11/01/2019 20:24

Also new to Mumsnet so if anyone would explain some of the abbreviations for me I'd really appreciate it!!

Em39ma · 11/01/2019 20:42

I’m sorry for everyone’s losses.
I’m trying to not test again until a week late. It’s really hard.
I was on the pill when I fell the first time, so we didn’t know how far along I was, we think I was about 10 weeks when I miscarried.
I didn’t get any symptoms until 4 days after my positive test, I’m beginning to think I’m one of those people that HCG doesn’t show up in urine until a couple of weeks late.
Babybe, I would suggest you wait to have a full cycle before trying again.
I had a bad reaction to the miscarriage and I ended up having to go to the hospital every couple of days for eight weeks and a trip to A&E

lnfb · 11/01/2019 21:14

@Em39ma I'm really sorry to hear of your loss and how unwell you are after your miscarriage, I'm sending you lots of hugs and positivity and hope you can enjoy a healthy pregnancy very soon.
It's so so hard to wait, I agree. I'm just trying my best to at least wait until the same time in the cycle I got my positive last time.
xx

Em39ma · 11/01/2019 21:26

@infb I’m 2/3 days late, so desperately trying not to test to soon

lnfb · 11/01/2019 21:59

@ale2992 I'm really sorry to hear of your loss and wishing you lots of luck when trying again after your period. Ovulation tests have never worked for me (never get positives but maybe not patient enough/doing them right) but I have used Flo for a year and a half and have found it to be very accurate.
The abbreviations I used were:

POAS-pee on a stick
cd-cervical discharge
TTC-trying to conceive
CB digi-Clear Blue digital

Other common ones are BFP-big fat positive
BD-baby dance
xx

lnfb · 11/01/2019 22:00

@Em239a omg I'm exactly the same-2/3 days late. We can do this though xx

ale2992 · 11/01/2019 22:02

@lnfb I've taken one tonight and it's negative, got loads so going to monitor it daily. It's abit obsessive but it will give me something to focus on...

ale2992 · 11/01/2019 22:04

@lnfb also thanks for the explanation on the abbreviations!

Em39ma · 11/01/2019 22:07

@infb I was going to take one tomorrow morning again, but we are off to ikea (yay) first thing. If nothing has happened by Monday, I will take another.

lnfb · 11/01/2019 22:09

@ale2992 I've heard they work for many women and getting more info about your cycle is always a plus!

lnfb · 11/01/2019 22:10

@Em39ma Ikea is always great and a good distraction. I think I'll test with FMU Mon or Tues x

ale2992 · 11/01/2019 22:16

@lnfb and @Em39ma wish you both good luck I have my fingers crossed for you

lnfb · 11/01/2019 22:20

@ale2992 same to you hun, wishing you get a healthy pregnancy very soon xx

Em39ma · 12/01/2019 03:15

I would love it to be, I’m 40 at the end of the month. Be a great way to start the celebrations.
I’m not getting any symptoms at all at the moment, not for either AF or BFP.

Em39ma · 12/01/2019 15:52

Ok I’m not symptom spotting, but starting to feel queasy and getting full up quickly. Still not sure if I am, getting dull cramping too.

lnfb · 12/01/2019 17:44

@Em39ma fingers crossed. I'm feeling queasy and very tired over the last few days. Boobs are also feeling 'heavy' . Still no sign of my period but I had the teeniest tiniest bit of light pink discharge on toilet tissue this morning, also a pinpoint drop in the pan of the toilet, this was after sex with my bf. Maybe due to my cervix softening up?! Then feeling wet down there with whiteish/clear discharge and some dull cramping the rest of the day.
May test tomorrow morning, or maybe Monday morning...
Fingers crossed for us both xx

Em39ma · 12/01/2019 19:20

I caved again, CB digital the pregnant, not pregnant one ( supposed to early detection one) a BFN
Was only a few minutes ago, I look about 6 months pregnant I’m so bloated. I’m really confused what is going on.

lnfb · 12/01/2019 19:47

@Em39ma-Hmmm, maybe too early and also urine more dilute this time of day?
Definitely best to test again in a few days :)

Em39ma · 12/01/2019 20:13

Maybe, I don’t get it. Though I looked like this when I was pregnant last time and was like for awhile before I got BFP. I thought it might have been because I was on the pill it was like that last time.
