Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

xx

I’m so sorry @ironytheopposieofwrinkly
I think we can all understand the wanting to wait but then deciding that no you don’t and want to try again straight away.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 29/01/2019 10:40

em39ma thank you. I can't talk to anyone in real life except my partner for fear of judgement, I feel like they'll assume I don't care about my daughter and that her death meant nothing, but maybe I'm projecting.

Em39ma · 29/01/2019 11:09

@ironytheoppositeofwrinkly
Yes, I know what you mean.
We assume people will judge us, it’s human nature.
I thought the same after the miscarriage, actually most people have be good with it.

frillyfarmer · 29/01/2019 11:11

@chocolatecake08 that's so rubbish! How far along are you? X

frillyfarmer · 29/01/2019 11:13

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly my friend is in a very similar position to you, I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. It's a completely normal coping mechanism- you are focussing on a positive to get you through a very dark time in your lives and there is no shame in that at all. Xx

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 29/01/2019 12:52

Thank you frillyfarmer xx

chocolatecake08 · 29/01/2019 13:57

@Em39ma

They said there was no benefit of a scan i didnt mention the private scan x

chocolatecake08 · 29/01/2019 13:57

@frillyfarmer 9 weeks x

chocolatecake08 · 29/01/2019 14:16

@Kelpies

Is there a chance you could still be pregnant??

I had surgical management 2/11/18 had a period 9/12/18 and then had a positive pregnancy test 12/1/19 is there a chance you could be pregnant? Xx

Kelpies · 29/01/2019 14:29

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly I'm so sorry about your loss. I think you really have to do what you feel is right and try not to let other people get in your head- easier said that done.

@chocolatecake08 I had a scan done after I mc and they confirmed there wasn't anything left. The EPU called to see how the test was so I told them and they got me to come straight in for bloods. I'm guessing to confirm whether there is an infection. I haven't had a period yet but it's only been 4wks since the mc. I should at least know what's happening by midday tomorrow from the bloods!

chocolatecake08 · 29/01/2019 14:37

@Kelpies tbf there might still just be hormones there, my EPU told me it can sometimes take a while xx

Em39ma · 29/01/2019 15:11

@Kelpies
I didn’t get a negative blood test until about 6 weeks after my miscarriage.

Kelpies · 29/01/2019 15:22

Thanks! Feeling much better hearing your experiences!!

chocolatecake08 · 29/01/2019 16:41

@Kelpies how are you feeling??

Kelpies · 29/01/2019 22:15

Had a call from the doctor at 7pm to say that my bloods were back and it's just the very remains of the mc. No infection. It's so silly but I'd built it up in my head that maybe I was pregnant again (even though it knew deep down I couldn't be) and what I was going to tell my fiancé and when I'd start mat leave etc.. The things we do to ourselves!! I've given myself tonight to wallow and then back to my norma self tomorrow =)

Em39ma · 30/01/2019 07:18

I had it a bit too.
I had my first AF, but bloods were still in the twenties. I had to get mine done very week and got a call to say that mine was back up in the sixties. I thought the say as you, yay I’m pregnant again. I think it’s our coping mechanism.
You will get there the same as I will, we just need to be relaxed about it and I’m sure it will happen for both of us.

chocolatecake08 · 30/01/2019 08:30

@Kelpies @Em39ma

Your time will come❤️

chocolatecake08 · 30/01/2019 19:53

Do any of you ladies know how many miscarriages in a row is thought to be abnormal? X

Em39ma · 30/01/2019 20:30

I think it’s 3.
You ok?
@chocolatecake08

chocolatecake08 · 30/01/2019 20:33

@Em39ma

Yeah im fine thanks ive just been wondering as i also thought it was 3 and was told i would need extra scans/tests etc, but this pregnancy will be my 6th pregnancy (5th miscarriage) and heard nothing x

Em39ma · 30/01/2019 20:47

Wow.
Have you seen the midwife?
I was told after my first to get to the midwife early and I would be allowed extra scans tests etc.
@chocolatecake08

chocolatecake08 · 30/01/2019 21:12

@Em39ma no, no one has got back to me or anything. Im going to ring up to book everything private tomorrow x

Em39ma · 30/01/2019 21:59

Definitely, I really cannot see why they haven’t done anything for you.
The right choice to go private

Kelpies · 30/01/2019 22:18

@chocolatecake08 that's awful! Worth making a fuss about because that's not on x

chocolatecake08 · 31/01/2019 08:34

@Em39ma @Kelpies

Im going to make a complaint xx
