Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

xx

Checking in. 5 days post bleeding and still docking great positive on OPK, 29hours after the last one. Think it will take a while to get back to normal?

Noopey · 22/01/2019 23:41

I’m still bleeding from my MC. It’s my first MC so I’m really not sure what happens physically from now.

I know it can take a while for ovulation cycles to get back to normal. What I don’t know is how long after MC finishes does it take for the first period to come.

I need something to focus on. Just trying to work out when I might be able to start trying again.

chocolatecake08 · 23/01/2019 06:57

@Noopey i had a missed miscarriage, i had the surgery option on the 2/11/18 and bled for about a week. I had a period on 9/12/18. I then fell pregnant again around about 22/12/18 although i wasn't actively trying yet as i didn't feel 100% ready. I hope this gives you a little help xx

pandaobsessed · 23/01/2019 07:48

@chocolatecake08 I had a general anesthetic, so was put to sleep for it. What about you? I haven't had any issues at the moment holding in wee. Do you think your problem has been since the surgery?

OP posts:
chocolatecake08 · 23/01/2019 07:51

@pandaobsessed yeh me too, ever since the surgery I really cant wait i have to go then and there😫xx

pandaobsessed · 23/01/2019 07:54

@chocolatecake08 oh no. I wonder how that happened? I'm guessing it's not normal to follow the surgery...

@noopey hope you’re doing ok. Are you back to work or normal routine yet? I had my first MC in November so I know what you’re going through. Do feel you can share here, it’s a lovely group of people.

I guess we just have to tell ourselves our body will be working it out and will get back to it’s normal self as soon as it can. Sadly there’s no means of speeding things up. It’s so hard isn’t it, but I think the only thing you can do is try to reduce the stress and worry. Do you have your ways of doing that? Audiobooks are my fav, I just stick the headphones in a go on a long walk.

There’s no reason to believe you have anything to worry about, just let Mother Nature take her time. I say all this because I guess it’s what I want to hear - so much easier said than done - but I hope it’s useful too. We are all here with you! X

Noopey · 23/01/2019 09:22

Thanks Chocolate & Hayz.

Useful to have a vague idea of what time line I might have.

I’m back working but only work 15hrs a week and my boss is being great. So I’m taking it slowly and not pushing myself too much. Also family have been really helpful, great support, mentally, physically and particularly with looking after my two kids.

The moment there isn’t anything I need to do I’ve been hiding away in my bedroom. I just don’t want to get out of bed all day.

What’s everyone else’s surviving technics? Anyone finding they aren’t eating much. I’m currently living off water, tea and apples.

Pinktruffle · 23/01/2019 11:44

The EPU nurse gave me the clinic phone number to call after I had my miscarriage, they were really helpful. I bled for a week or so after the miscarriage, it stopped for 5 days and then strayed again - EPU confirmed this is normal and was likely not a period but still part of the miscarriage (I was 11 weeks so quite far along). They said to expect a period 6 to 8 weeks after the miscarriage and I got my period 6 weeks to the day later - it was quite heavy and I had to go home from work.

Coping techniques - I'm not really sure, just take every day as it comes and keep talking about it as it helps. I was doing well and holding things together for the most part but for the last week or so I ve just felt very down and feel like I'm on the constant brink of a breakdown.... yet functunioning fairly normally so no one apart from my husband has probably noticed

@pandaobsessed
I just wanted to say thank you for starting this post. I also suffered a miscarriage last October and had a d and c. My cycles started properly again in December and my af is due any day. I did a pregnancy test yesterday and it's negative. The feelings of loss / disappointment (and dare I say it) the irrational resentment towards other people with babies.. have come flooding back. The grief was getting so much easier but right now it feels so raw again. So to read your post and other comments has been really comforting. Thank you! I think I had very unrealistic expectations as 2 close friends both conceived 6 weeks after a miscarriage so I had hoped that it would be that easy for me. I've just ordered OvuSense as someone recommended that to me. Wishing you and the others on this thread so much good luck with conceiving! X

Em39ma · 23/01/2019 20:22

@Gpmg84
Welcome, glad we are able to help you.
October seemed to abitof an unlucky month for quite a few of us.

pandaobsessed · 23/01/2019 21:02

@Gpmg84 welcome to the thread lovely. I know exactly how you're feeling and it's completely normal for women in this position. It's a tough time there's no denying it. Just keep thinking that your 🌈 baby will come along soon and until then, it just wasn't the right time. I still have down days, and it gets even harder when your approaching AF and hoping and wishing she doesn't come. I'm currently experiencing what I think is implantation bleeding, so fingers crossed. But I could be wrong. AF due Monday x

@noopey

Thinking of you, and hope you feel better soon. It took a week for me to feel ok-ish, but ttc has brought some of the mc anxiety back!

If it helps, my first cycle was 3w+1 day after mc, it was a little longer then usual but ok.
Cycle 2 was 31 days, it weird because usually my period comes like clock work on Sunday morning every 4 weeks- and this second period came again on a Sunday. So this ha given me hope maybe by body is returning to my normal pattern.

Take it easy over the next few days, make sure you try to eat something and treat yourself whenever you can - even if it’s just a nice coffee or a magazine

Em39ma · 24/01/2019 13:48

A bit of a strange AF after it decided to turn up.
Only last a couple of days. So hopefully can now get back toTTC.
How’s everyone else doing?

Gpmg84 · 24/01/2019 14:14

@pandaobsessed and @Em39ma thank you for your welcomes. It does help to talk and know you're not alone! Yes October really was a bad month for many of us wasn't it!
Have you ever tried or heard anything about OvuSense?
@pandaobsessed keeping my fingers crossed for you that it's implantation bleeding 🤞
Hoping for more luck next month. X

pandaobsessed · 24/01/2019 15:30

I think I might be pregnant ladies!! 🤞🏻
