Hi ladies,

I suffered a silent miscarriage end of October and was just looking to start a thread for ladies in a similar position to me, who are trying to conceive at the moment. Would be lovely to have some support and guidance.

xx

@Em39ma thanks for replying, I spoke to the GP and they said they wouldn't prescribe it without recommendation from a consultant. Does this seem right? I am under consultant care and so far all tests have been 'normal' I refuse to believe this is all just bad luck?! Wondering where to go from here tbh...

Hugs to you all who are also struggling. This is a shit club to be part of Sad

HayzCo · 18/01/2019 18:22

@chocolatecake08 have you been to a&e? Any news? Hope and praying for you hun

HayzCo · 18/01/2019 18:32

For those asking how long to wait, i wonder your thoughts as this is playing on my mind.

I had my first period after miscarriage end of Dec and just ovulated on Monday, although I don’t know how accurate my app is now I haven’t been using it for a few months, Since then I have had some sharp pains and general uncomfortableness. I don’t know if that is because of the miscarriage. It makes me wonder when they say wait one cycle they mean a normal period and normal ovulation? I have never experienced the pain during ovulation before.

It’s stopped now but I don’t feel quite right. Can’t help but hope it could be a pregnancy but there’s no way I would be getting any symptoms now, even implantation I don’t think. Very confusing, I almost wish I had waited for a second period so I wouldn’t be worrying I’ve messed up my first chance. Does that make sense?

@Dianebz1 because i look well they sent me home and made an appointment at EPU for next Friday for a scan.

Em39ma · 18/01/2019 22:11

Next Friday, that is bit far away. Can you ring the Epau tomorrow and see if they can see you then.
Here in Hampshire our unit is 24/7

chocolatecake08 · 18/01/2019 22:37

@Em39ma

@HayzCo I was meant to have ovulated on Monday too (according to my app). But like you, I hadn't used it for a while due to the miscarriage etc. I used ovulation tests, but nothing got picked up. This is my second cycle since the miscarriage. I've been nauseous the past two days, with cramps and uncomfortableness 🤔

@pandaobsessed thanks so much, i hope you get the out come you want❤️

chocolatecake08 · 19/01/2019 08:17

@Dianebz1 @Em39ma

I called EPU and all i can do is wait until Friday. Im thinking about paying for a private scan?? X

HayzCo · 19/01/2019 08:26

Morning all.

@chocolatecake08 I’m so sorry they’ve sent you home with a week wait. Could demand an earlier scan and not take no for an answer? My experience during miscarriage was awful in terms of how blasé the hospital was to my symptoms. I even got a call on NYE asking why I hadn’t come for my 16 week appointment, I had to tell them I had miscarried and been an inpatient with them a few weeks before!!

@pandaobsessed I guess maybe there’s a chance, after our experience, we will always be much more sensitive and aware of every feeling of our cycle and what we are feeling is actually normal.

chocolatecake08 · 19/01/2019 08:31

@HayzCo

Really that is shocking😳😳,

I miscarried last time at 16 weeks so i knew i wasn't out of the woods yet. I was sobbing in pain and one of the doctors told the doctor who was seeing to me that i didn't look well at all and not to send me home.
In the end the doctor said just to go home and see what happens and take pain killers and rest.

Im genuinely debating paying for a private scan x

pandaobsessed · 19/01/2019 08:36

@chocolatecake08 I wouldn't blame you for paying for a private scan. The process for women going through a miscarriage is really quite poor (or it is here in Wales). It's something so sensitive and upsetting and you end up waiting weeks to know anything. The whole process for me (when first seeing blood and having surgical management) was about four and a half weeks. It's something, rightly or wrongly, that you just want to be over. I debated paying for a private scan when I was going though this x

chocolatecake08 · 19/01/2019 08:43

@pandaobsessed

I also waited a long time like your self when i had a missed miscarriage but i never got any bleeding at all only after the surgery. I agree it is a horrible feeling when your waiting and waiting.

Ive been having a look at some places and they can do private scans plus any management of miscarriage if that is the outcome. I honestly feel like going there which may be Abit better.

Im in no way slatting the NHS i think what they do is amazing, i just think a week is a long time to wait not knowing anything. They wouldn't even tell me if they thought it was a miscarriage or normal bleeding xx
