Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

S x

Period has finally arrived. My first real one for years, I hope it's not going to be really bad :( I had really bad ones on the pill.

Leleophants · 16/01/2019 21:54

Had my last pill 27th Dec, nothing yet..

Nextchapter19 · 16/01/2019 21:55

Is anyone thinking they may be low on estrogen? After coming off the pill in September Im worried this is why my periods are so light. This is just a guess. I was just presuming things will be fine TTC as having a regular cycle every month. I think you can google too much!!! CD 7 here so getting ready to make the most of my fertile window and hope for the best!!!

Beddie11 · 16/01/2019 22:07

@leleophants i had my last pill on the 17th december and nothing.. i guess time will tell. Are you doing any monitoring, ovulation kits, body temp or anything?i haven't but may start in the next month or so if nothing happens. Can anybody give me a brief rundown on how opks work? Xx

Hi everyone, just jumping in and wondering what people's experiences were with withdrawal bleeds?
I took my last mini pill (Cerelle) on 30th December. I was on cerelle for a year with no bleeding at all. Before that I had the implant for four years (on and off bleeding) and then cerazette for 18 months (again on and off bleeding).
In the first week I broke out in spots and saw an improvement in mood but no other symptoms apart from that. I was positive I was ovulating on January 12th as a I had a short burst of cramps and 12 hours of ridiculously sore nipples plus the egg white discharge. Anyway, long story short (or not really in my case!) a withdrawal bleed/ period started yesterday on the 15th!
It seems quite heavy and just like a regular period.
Is it possible to ovulate and then have a withdrawal bleed? Or as this is heavier, could this be a normal period and I ovulated earlier in the month?
It's all such a minefield!

Hi I'm not ttc yet, I've just had my little boy on the 23rd December... I'm going back on the pill at my 6 week check up... I want another baby (not yet but maybe in a couple of months) so it's interesting to hear your stories and how long it took for things to return to normal, I was on the implant before we ttc my little one but it took a loooong time to conceive him (7years) so I'm really worried about things taking so long next time

December2018 · 16/01/2019 23:09

@peaky297 good luck girl... I'm keeping all my crossables crossed 😜

Gem1188 · 17/01/2019 07:51

Hi all

I went to see my nurse yesterday and she said as I was on the mini pill it can take 4 weeks to leave your system. Only then will your body restart it's cycles. I hoping by the end of the month all is well in the world.
Keep positive ladies 😊

peaky297 · 17/01/2019 13:48

A bitter sweet update guys... Aunt Flo has turned up today so any chance of a BFP seems to be out of the window for this month!
On the upshot, this would mean that I've had a 27 day cycle straight off the pill, which is nice and normal and so long as it stays this way I can track my cycle properly.
As I said, bitter sweet, but onwards and upwards!

@peaky297 sorry to hear AF got you, but yes at least you know you’ve bounced back after the pill! Fingers crossed for your next cycle!
I am now a day late according to Flo app. I took my last pill on 17th Dec and just put in the date of my withdrawal bleed so I don’t think it’s actually correctly calculated it but it should be about now. I’m pretty sure i’m not pregnant so i’m Just waiting for AF to show! I wish it would hurry up so I can onto next cycle!
This is draining... 🙄 x

RLI1105 · 17/01/2019 16:41

@December2018
I've only been off the pill a couple of weeks and am not TTC yet so I'm in a different situation to you but if I was you I don't think I would bother going back on the pill.
If it took a long time to conceive last time and you want another baby fairly quickly I would maybe just try and track things the old fashioned way and then when you want to try again you canSmile

Beddie11 · 17/01/2019 21:43

@peaky297, love your positive attitude! Like you say atleast now you have a good idea of your cycle! Im still waiting for AF and no signs as of yet! X

Beddie11 · 17/01/2019 21:48

@ttc2019babyno1 im waiting right here with you! X

peaky297 · 18/01/2019 07:23

Thanks @beddie11. I think being positive is important as I bet it's so easy to get disheartened which won't help!
I have to say that I already miss my pill periods mind...this "real" one is kicking my ass! Haha

Glad I saw this topic, hey everyone I normally read and don't post but I came off the pill early Dec. Got my first period in a few years yesterday. I forgot how bad I used to get them. I was always about every 5-6weeks anyway but it's so heavy. Was hoping now I'm alot older things would improve and the first one being a withdrawal bleed I would be OK but it's really bad now. So now I'm sat worried about going to work.
We will be TTC later in the year just wanted to start the new year pill free to get some sort of normal hormone balance back and to try loose 3stone. Thankfully my appetite has halved comming off the pill so I'm hoping weight loss follows.

Does anyone have any tips for heavy periods? Pain wise I'm fine after 24hours of regular paracetamol/hot water bottle.

PumpkinsMum18 · 18/01/2019 12:18

Hi ladies! Sorry I haven’t posted for a while - not been much to report! But I have been keeping up with your stories Smile

A recap on me - took my last pill on 1st Jan and had withdrawal bleed 5th-8th Jan.

This morning I went to the loo and there was a small bit of blood.... could this be implantation bleeding? Or just beginning of period? It’s only been 10 days since I finished withdrawal bleed so I’m very confused!

I am tempted to take a test but it’s probably too early.... it’s hard not to get over excited and get carried away!!

peaky297 · 18/01/2019 12:52

Welcome @rachie83 and hello again @pumpkinsmum18 !
Pumpkins... I'd say wait a few days before you test. I had the same thing a few days ago and now it is a full on period...I'm glad I didn't test as it would have been a waste! So based on my experience, I'd give it until after the weekend and then test if AF doesn't appear.
Rachie I don't know what to suggest for heavy periods other than alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol every two hours so you don't have the pain killer wearing off period as one will always be in action

PumpkinsMum18 · 18/01/2019 17:57

@peaky297 thanks for your advice 😊 I agree waiting a few days before testing is a good idea, in case AF makes an appearance. Hopefully I can distract myself over the weekend with cleaning the house! 😂

Leleophants · 18/01/2019 18:27

I meant just had normal bleed for a few days as get between pills, but then since didnt go back on pill had no other bleed just weird cramps!

Not ttc just yet. Wanted to give it a few months and then want to avoid Christmas and Jan baby so probably wont until May or June

whatsthecraic91 · 19/01/2019 12:11

Has anyone else noticed they are extremely horny since coming off the pill? I’m on CD 22 and my downstairs has been throbbing since yesterday morning! Jumped my DP this morning but it hasn’t relieved me!! Google says it can be a sign of conception as more blood is directed to the area! Fingers crossed!

Beddie11 · 19/01/2019 19:11

Hi ladies hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing weekend! A little update from me.. first a quick recap - last pill 17th december - first month ttc - up until today I've had no signs of aaaaanything, and then today ( tmi on its way ) went to the loo and wiped and the infamous EWCM was staring back at me! Ive read so much about this on here and was starting to think maybe I'd missed ovulation or not had it as yet ! So.. it was definitely EWCM.. stringy between the fingers ( i know, gross but i had to try it ) ... so my question is.. what does this mean?? Have i ovulated, am i going to ovulate?? I was so thrilled to see it i ran downstairs to tell DH lol xx

Kinsella82 · 19/01/2019 19:14

Hi all can I join in please?!
I took my last pill on 26/12, had a bleed from 31/12-4/1. Around the 13-14/1 I had lots of symptoms that could be seen as ovulation symptoms and we dtd regularly around that time too. In the last couple of days I feel like I’ve so many symptoms of pregnancy but really things couldn’t have returned to normal that quick surely?? Don’t get me wrong I’d be delighted but just in shock! On dc2 I stopped pill mid November and conceived 6 weeks later without any bleed in between?!
I am beyond tired which I always my first sign, I’ve period like cramps, tender breasts etc etc. I don’t want to get my hopes up as it’s probably just AF on the way! Thanks for reading! It will be great being part of this group x

Kinsella82 · 19/01/2019 19:16

@beddie11 I would say you’re ovulating now!
