Anyone else fresh off the pill!?

Hi ladies!
As my DH and i habe decided to TTC I took the last pill in my packet on 17th December and had my breakthrough bleed start on the 22nd and end on the 26th. Now the wait begins to see whether my cycle snaps back to normal and of course whether I concieve! I had been on microgynon for circa 3 years.

Is anyone else in a similar position and entering 2019 pill free!? I thought this would be a good place to track and share our experiences as they happen!

I am due for one this year.
Can you really not DTD for an entire month before a smear test???. When is the best time to book one in your cycle ?
Obviously I have not had this issue before 😊

From what I read on that, pregnancy just makes it more tricky to do the test properly.

Yay after a long 44 days AF has arrived this morning, didn’t get any symptoms though which I thought was strange, but here’s hoping I can now get back into regular cycles!

I was on the pill for 10+ years and came off it in February 2018.

Had a few periods until August then nothing. Had another period in December.

During that time I was using OPKs and trying to use GLOW app for tracking things.

Long story short but doctors yesterday - found out my male hormones are up. I have been diagnosed with PCOS.
I'm devastated!

Hi everyone. Joining in! I just stopped taking my pill yesterday (microgynon). Been on it for about 15 years. I’ve been using the Flo app to track my cycles for about a year but I guess that will all change now? Like it says I should ovulate in 6 days but I guess that’s not accurate? I feel like I have a lot to learn! This will be our first time TTC

So... as per my first post i came off microgynon on 16th December, had a breakthrough bleed on 22nd as usual and DH and I have been dtd regularly without protection as we are TTC.
In the last week or so my boobs have become hot and super tingly with super sensitive nipples which seem to have darkened and there are lots of little goosey type bumps that weren't there before too. I've also had some on/off shooting pains in my left breast! I had some sharp almost period like cramps that lasted around an hour last week too and I generally feel a bit off.
I took a cheap boots pg test this morning and it was negative... could this be PMS symptoms (though I never had them like this pre -pill) or have I just tested too early!?

I would say you’ve tested too early as it’s not even 3 weeks from you had your breakthrough bleed! Leave it a few days and try again 😊

@littlemoon86 welcome!
I’m not an expert, but I would say your cycle will now change as your cycle while on the pill isn’t your natural cycle. The bleed is not a real period as it just occurs because of a drop in hormones when you take the week break from pills. Now you are off the pill, your cycle with adjust back to the natural rhythm with ovulation. Hope that makes sense?

What’s the Flo app like? Was it easy to use?

I think you have probably tested too early but I had all kinds of symptoms like that. I think it’s cruel that pregnancy symptoms and AF symptoms are so similar!

Apologies if TMI, but to add to my post I have come home from work to find a few greeny/blue veins have appeared on my breast... my poor boobs 🙈😂

Your body is likely to go through changes after stopping contraception. For me I had a breakout of spots.

We had unprotected sex for the first time on Wednesday night and a part of me really wants to rush out and get a pregnancy test even though I know that would be silly! 😂

I took my last pill on 24th December bleed started 29th Dec. Sorry if this is TMI but according to my Flo app yesterday was my ovulation day. The past 2 days I have had a lot of creamy runny discharge and for the past couple of hours I have felt like AF is about to start! Do you think this is ovulation? Really hoping it is and AF appears in another 2 weeks! Then we can start TTC properly 🥰

Stopped taking the pill on Tuesday and now I’m having spotting. Would this be withdrawal bleed? Flo app says I’m ovulating in 2 days but I guess that’s all messed up now!

@Whatsthecraic91 sounds like ovulation to me

@littlemoon86 yeah it sounds like your withdrawal bleed. Don’t think apps are very reliable when you’re still taking the pill but that doesn’t mean that you won’t still ovulate soon

@Peaky297 hi again, we both took our last microgynon pill around the same time, ive just been getting updated on this chat. I also took a HPT this afternoon and got a BFN. I think its probably too early to tell for both of us. I've had no signs of AF yet, not even sure if I've ovulated,not had any stand out signs of it. Are you going too retest or wait for AF? X

@beddie11 I am going to try and wait for a week or so and then if no AF I will retest.
It's hard though!
Have you had any odd symptoms? My boobs (and my nipples in parricular) are sore and swollen and I have bouts of tiredness and feeling sick. I just don't know what's normal And what's prego signs!

@peaky297 hmm it seems strange getting those symptoms doesnt it.. very hard to tell between usual AF symptoms and pregnancy symptoms! Especially when you've been on the pill and not sure of normal cycle. Were u on it for long?i was on it over 10 years. No i havent had any odd symptoms, ive had a few stomach twinges, not sure what thats in aide of.. boobs feel fine lol xx

@beddie11 I was on it for a few years... 4 or 5 I think but I'm not 100% sure!
Glad to hear that you are largely symptom free....they aren't fun and if they are just withdrawal symptoms then I think I'll feel a bit hard done by! Haha
When is AF due for you?

@peaky297 thats the thing i dont know when AF is due as ive not had a cycle yet since coming off the pill.. how is it that you know when shes due for you as you came off same as me didnt you? X

@beddie11 I don't actually know, Burnie hope that if I go back to a regular cycle it should happen circa 28days after the breakthrough bleed?

@Peak297 ahh i see, yes i would imagine it would. I dont even remember what my cycle is like so have no clue when to expect her. Id only just started having periods not long before i went on thr pill.Il retest again at the end of Jan if i havent seen AF yet! Had a night full of dreams of BFP 😫 x

It looks like I stopped taking the pill around the same time as many of you - last one on 16th December (been on it 12years), breakthrough bleed 20th - 22nd and since then - nothing.
I feel completely lost. I’ve had no side affects from coming off the pill (spots, losing weight, generally feeling better about yourself), in fact I could still be taking it as I don’t feel any different.

I have no idea if I have ovulated as I only heard about tracking CM and using OPK’s at the beginning of January. I’m now recording everything in the Flo app, but I feel like I might have been too late to record any ovulation (if there was). All my OPK’s have been negative.

If i’m on a standard 28 day cycle I should start my period next week. I’m desperate to be pregnant but I kind of what my period to show so I know my cycle is working...!!
