Crushing disappointment of TTC

TheChineseChicken · 22/12/2018 08:31

TTC number 2 and struggling with the miserable disappointment every month. DD took quite a long time to conceive. Tried for a year, fell pregnant then miscarried at 9 weeks then pregnant again 3 months later. Been trying for number 2 since August and stupidly convinced myself it would be quicker this time due to friends' experiences. But here we are on cycle 5. The not knowing is the worst bit - it could happen this month, it might never happen.

I know that no-one can give me any reassurances but I just wanted to have a moan!

I fished this morning's test out of the bin for some inexplicable reason and saw a faint second line, which is clearly an evaporation line. Just did another test to confirm and it's negative Sad

@pinkstar01 of course you are - I just saw the picture you posted and it made me laugh if I had enough I'd be the same but I've only got 1 Frer left since this morning so I'm going to try and resist - xxx

MummyBearBoo · 07/05/2019 15:29

I dunno what I'll be like (providing this one sticks around long enough for me to get to that stage) coz with my DD I had hardly any sickness with my little boy (I think it's coz he was poorly) I had sickness all day and was sick lots, I couldn't eat so I passed out a couple of times and had awful stomach cramps all day xxxx

TheChineseChicken · 07/05/2019 19:40

Wow, BFPs all round! Lovely news, @MummyBearBoo. Glad all our pregnant ladies are doing well. The time passes so slowly but make sure you remember to enjoy it x

@LHMB are you ok? Haven't heard from you for a few days

@pinkstar01 terrible nausea, I’ve been signed off work this is my 4th week off! But going back next week and hoping I’ll feel better by Tuesday. Hardly any vomiting, once a week maybe if that.
Definitely recommend an early scan. I’ve had two so far, one at 7 weeks and one last week at 9 weeks and they really helped put my mind at ease!

MummyBearBoo · 09/05/2019 14:45

I think tiredness is the worst my daughter went to Pre-school yesterday and I thought sod the gym I'm going to bed so I did!! I don't think morning sickness will start for a couple of weeks for me yet - I dunno whether I'll have it or not didn't have any with my DD but then had all day sickness 2nd time!! Where is everyone else up to anyone due to test this weekend? Xx

LHMB · 09/05/2019 15:30

TheChineseChicken a few things have happened that I can't really get into on here, but pregnancy still going well touch wood, had first midwife appointment yesterday, I'm 7 weeks, due date Christmas Eve. She took blood pressure, said it was fine, tested wee, said it was fine, took blood. Will be screened for Down's syndrome and other things which are apparently not compatible with life so I'm anxious about that alongside the other stress I'm under at the moment. Haven't been sick yet but am constantly nauseous

TheChineseChicken · 09/05/2019 16:07

@LHMB sending big hugs. Hope you are ok and that things are sorted soon

@MummyBearBoo AF for me isn't due until next weekend so no testing yet. Going to try to hold out until then although I'm concerned that might give me false hope... Ravenous today and can't stop eating - trying not to read anything into it as it's way too early for symptoms. I'm just greedy!

Fingers crossed everything works out for you @LHMB and fingers crossed this is your month @TheChineseChicken!
If I make to 11 weeks that is when I find out if my baby will be compatible with life or not 50/50 chance either way - had 1 of each so far I am absolutely bricking it!!!

LHMB · 09/05/2019 18:03

Thank you TheChineseChicken
Fingers crossed for you MummyBearBoo, it's such an anxious time.
I've weighed myself and have actually lost weight, which would normally make me happy but I've been eating more lately so I'm quite worried that it's a bad sign and something is wrong

MummyBearBoo · 09/05/2019 19:47

I wouldn't worry the baby and fluid won't weigh that much right now and your body is burning more calories than you realise also the NHS states;
" "Normal-weight women shouldn't gain more than two to four pounds — total — in the entire first trimester."

LHMB · 09/05/2019 19:52

Thank you MummyBearBoo

TheChineseChicken · 09/05/2019 20:08

@LHMB when I was pregnant with DD I had some great pregnancy mindfulness recordings I listened to that really relaxed me. Could you look into something like that to help relieve your anxiety?

TheChineseChicken that's a good idea, thank you Flowers

TheChineseChicken · 12/05/2019 19:24

Has everyone been enjoying the lovely weather this weekend? We had an epic bike ride yesterday which was rather strenuous but very rewarding!

6-7 dpo here. Been feeling a bit icky, slight queasy and had a dull ache in my lower abdomen for a couple of days. There's definitely something going on down there but whether it's pregnancy-related who knows. If it doesn't work this cycle I'm going to book for some private fertility assessments to at least feel like I am doing something.

@LHMB @Ells0204 @pinkstar01 @codenameduchess @MummyBearBoo all still ok with you?

OP posts:
TheChineseChicken · 12/05/2019 19:25

Hey that's 5 of us pregnant in one go!

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 12/05/2019 20:47

Everything ok with me so far touch wood it's 5 weeks tomorrow so I'll phone the midwife if all still ok. - a bit of morning sickness but not too bad yet, my boobs are tender, I'm tired all the time and have cramps occasionally!

codenameduchess · 12/05/2019 21:04

All good so far thanks @TheChineseChicken dating scan is Friday 😬 that feels like the big hurdle just now, as long as everything is as it should be I'll relax a little.

TheChineseChicken · 12/05/2019 21:37

That's great. Can't believe you're at dating scan already @codenameduchess!

Ells0204 · 13/05/2019 11:33

Fingers crossed for you this cycle @thechinesechicken

So far so good here, 11 weeks today! @codenameduchess so jealous yours is on Friday, mine isn’t until the Friday after that! Seems like ages 😵

codenameduchess · 13/05/2019 11:53

@Ells0204 mine seems too early, I'll only be 11 weeks but have a consultant appointment next week so maybe they had to fit in around her availability.

LHMB · 13/05/2019 15:58

Had my first midwife appointment last Wednesday, I'm 7 weeks and due Christmas Eve. She took blood and blood pressure, tested urine, said it looked fine. Booked me in for 10th July for next appointment but said nothing about my first scan, anxious to know when it will be. Someone told me that in that area they don't send you the first scan appointment until 15 weeks. That seems late to me, I just want to see it on screen and find out if all is okay

dottyp0104 · 13/05/2019 18:15

Oh ladies just popped back on hear and delighted to see some names I know with BFP. So delighted for you. I have a good feeling about this month so hoping its 3rd time lucky for me . So chuffed for you all though as know how hard and how difficult it has been for some xx
