Hey guys, running out of room on the old thread so starting a new one! Let’s hope it’s lucky number 10!! Will try and tag everyone now :)

@DuchessofPemberley Rant away! That’s exactly what we’re all here for. I use OPKs and have found they correlate to my dates I track but I know they don’t work for everyone. For people who don’t like OPKs they often just track their temp instead, maybe try that? And rant away to DH too! You’re in this journey together. I used to get so annoyed that after the deed was done his job was over and I spent two weeks questioning every twinge, wondering if I should go for a run or will that wriggle things loose, should I drink or shouldn’t I etc - but once I sat down and explained the entire process to him he was much more understanding!

FX for you. It will happen for us all one day. I know that’s hard to take at times (if only we could know what day that day would be!!) but it really will.

Thank you @EltzBee @MrsEG @DuchessofPemberley @KatBeCool @ValidUser I think everything just got to me and then my hormones are crazy, I've woke up to sore nipples and I think the smallest amount of spotting so I'm pretty sure AF will be here by Christmas x

@starkid like @Crossfitgirl said, your body can gear up to ovulate, so you'll still have your surge but it just may not happen so it'll try again - that's why OPKs aren't always reliable because they don't show that you did ovulate x

@DuchessofPemberley I feel your pain - that's why I stopped temping and doing OPKs this month. I didn't log anything down, and had no idea where I was in my cycle... I didn't think it would work but actually it did, because I didn't feel pressured to know what was going on. I think that's why I was thrown off guard yesterday with the EWCM because I didn't know where in my cycle I was! Maybe take a month off temping OPKs etc and just DTD when you feel like it for a month? Even if you don't catch, like I don't think I have this month, it's nice knowing that neither you or DH have had that pressure? Xx

@MrsEG well today according to app. I feel nothing which to be fair isn't unusual for me.

Determined to not be disappointed it's only our first month trying. Came off the pill about 6 months ago.

@MrsH497 Please don’t be disheartened. People who conceive their first month basically win the lottery! Even my sister with her honeymoon baby, it was still their second cycle. Take it as a learning curve - it took me two months to get in to it all, figure out all the signs and what to do. You’ve given your first month your best shot and you’re all set for January now! FX for a BFP for you in the new year :)

Any tips on working out when ovulation happens?!

@MrsH497 there are three main ways for ov; first one is OPKs - doing these two times a day will hopefully pick up your surge, second one is temping - the temp will show you after you've ovulated so should work hand in hand with OPKs, and then the third one is your cervical mucus - when you're at your most fertile it changed to EWCM (egg white cervical mucus) because it resembles raw egg white, so clear slippery and stretchy. This is the best Cm for sperm to swim in, so after ovulation it's either sticky/not stretchy/ nothing at all x

Just texted DH to tell him AF is on her way, and he's just said he thought I was pregnant 😩 I wish it was that easy

@cupcakesandglitter thank you! For the temping is it a normal thermometer and rake at certain times of the day?

@MrsH497 you need a BBT thermometer which goes to two decimal places - you can get them quite cheap from amazon. You have to take them at the same time every morning as soon as you wake up, before you sit up/get out of bed. I think it has to be after at least three/four hours sleep too. I'd recommend Fertility Friend purely for logging your temperature - if you do it as soon as you take it, it'll log the time you've taken it at and put the chart together too

I think I'm out this month... started spotting this morning. 😭😭😭

Just cried to DP - bloody hormones.

There was blood this morning on the tissue, bright pinky red, not much. Assumed it was AF. But nothing more on tissue or pad since. Wish it would just get on and get it over with!!!

@MrsH497 Exactly what @cupcakesandglitter said! I also use Clue app - so far, my positive OPKs have matched their predicted ovulation day every month, so it’s just nice to have that extra reassurance.

@MrsR16 So sorry hun - try not to let it ruin your Christmas. Get right back on it for Jan!

@MrsEG it was due tomorrow so a day early. I don’t have the cramps I usually get before AF yet which is strange ... but I think everything can be strange when hormones are involved! I also started taking new vitamins a couple of days ago so maybe that’s affected it as some women seem to think it does/has?

Waiting for AF is such a chore, I know she's coming imminently just wish she would bloody well hurry up about it, lol. @Keyboard91 I'm due on today and she's being stubborn about arriving. I know she is coming because of my temperature.

@DuchessofPemberley ah hun, if OPKs aren't helping don't use them, they are only beneficial if they make things easier. If they cause stress or confusion the throw them out the window for sure.

I use OPKs but along with my temperature and try to keep a eye on what fluid there is down there too. I only use cheapo ones from Amazon and I line them up so I can see the line getting darker. It would be very easy to miss the surge though sometimes.

I have to say temping does make me feel more informed about my cycle, seeing where it is and seeing temp drop so I know AF is coming. Almost to the point I think I would do it even if I wasn't ttc just to know what was happening and when I was due. Although I can't wait to go back on the pill...my skin is so awful with hormonal acne since stopping it.

@Keyboard91 Maybe! Vitamins haven’t really affected my cycle much but I do know for some people it can do. If AF doesnt show tomorrow keep an eye on it, people can get implantation bleeding but I think that is usually more of a pink or brown colour?

@MrsEG - yep away for Christmas for 10 days with different family but going to have reeeeeally quiet sex. Especially as my room for the next week is right next to my parents

Gosh I can't keep up with this thread! Going to need to up my game! Finally have some watery CM and positive OPK today 😍 let the baby making commence!

Cheapy OPK wasn't a positive just now, although did have a line which is more than has happened on those so far this cycle

@starkid keep with the OPKs, the surge that causes the line to get dark or dark as the control line may only last for a few hours. I keep them lined up to see the progression, I usually have a few very light or nada til a dark one appears for a day or two.

@EltzBee @MrsEG still no sign! I don’t think it could be implantation as feels too late in the cycle. More likely just a stubborn AF. Would prefer to get the heavier part out of the way before Xmas!

DP decided to tell me his parents are visiting tomorrow morning .... as he was leaving for work this afternoon! Grr! Having to do slow housework as lower back hurts (but that’s not unusual for me). I ate 2 kit kats to make myself feel better ;)

Hey joining you all late in convo. I am 11 DPO AF due tomorrow - I ovulated really late day 19! Have done 5 X tests all BFN! Was really sick with really high fever on Wednesday so I think may have killed my chances this month. Everything crossed for tomorrow ....

@EltzBee - it's so frustrating, as clearblue is saying one thing and the amazon cheapies something else

@starkid what a pain! I've never used clear blue kit or OPKs (I couldn't believe the price!) But the cheapo Amazon ones I have do seem to work. Sorry if you've already said, are you temping as well?

@Keyboard91 with you there, I'm due on today and she still hasn't turned up. Today is 12dpo, my LP is usually 11 (max 12), last month was LP9. I was also hoping she would get on with it today so that the worst was over my Xmas day, I'm hosting and could do without the extra hassle lol. Usually I'm willing her not to turn up and this month I keep going to the loo and going hurry up! I'm sure she'll turn up tonight or tomorrow if not, hey ho.

Opinions on this?!
