This is our fourth month TTC baby number 2. Would love a bfp result just before Christmas :) of course unlikely, but here's to hoping!! My fertile few days starts tomorrow .. and then the dreaded two week wait from next week. If anyone would like to go through this month's journey, ups and downs, it would be nice to have some company. And some TTC top tips and advice for the 2ww. I felt very down after my last negative result in November. Good luck to anyone in the same boat Smile. Let's hope for an extra special Xmas surprise.

I'm here, 2dpo I think - already symptom spotting because I'm an Ott control freak. 1st month after mc, so fx for a bfp for Xmas Grin

90mammasophie · 02/12/2018 14:27

Good luck!! How can you tell the exact day of ovulation? I've been finding that quite tricky, feel like I'm not getting it spot on.
First day of fertile window today. Hubby away today / tomorrow got me panicking. DTD yesterday just in case Confused. Feel like I'm driving myself a bit mad with all of this.

I've been doing temps, tracking on FF. Using a digital tracker instead of a thermometer temps have been really steady, so as long as the higher temps continue hopefully it happened. It's easy to get overwhelmed by it all, I'm no good at relaxing, but I've got to sit back, you can only do so much.

Good luck to you both. I have just entered fertile window too according to my app... I think I'm a couple of days pre ovulation as OPKs starting to darken.
We have been trying for over a year, although had a miscarriage almost a year ago now and it took a good few months before my cycles returned to normal and also I felt ready again. So really it's probably been about 5 months since then that we have been trying properly again. I am 35 and will be 36 in feb, my husband is almost 38. We found out I was pregnant last New Year's Eve so it would be a lovely little Christmas miracle if it happened again this year ❤️

Are you both trying for your first child also?

agteacht · 03/12/2018 23:07

Oh sorry Sophie just saw for you it's baby 2:)

GemmaJen · 04/12/2018 06:43

@agteacht yes ttc #1.

It'd be a brilliant Xmas gift wouldn't it? Sorry for your loss earlier this year, it takes a lot to get back to normality mentally let alone with cycles and the extra ttc pressure.

I had another temp peak today, better bd a few more times for luck just in case I got my O day wrong Confused

stokieginge · 04/12/2018 08:42

@GemmaJen what digital tracker do you use out of interest?

GemmaJen · 04/12/2018 11:32

@stokieginge the ifertracker:

stokieginge · 04/12/2018 11:37

@GemmaJen thank you?

Is it easy to use? Have you found you're getting better readings?

Im currently using a nasal thermometer and sometimes I wonder if I'm getting them right Hmm

90mammasophie · 04/12/2018 12:28

This is month number 4 of 'officially trying' although I was on no contraception for a few months before that and still doing the deed. I haven't yet bought a thermometer or any other kind of devise as I wanted to be casual about it like maybe it will happen I'll just be chill ... but now thinking to get something!! If anyone recommends anything in particular ?
I'm 28. This will be 2nd child, Fingers crossed. DD has just turned 4 Smile she was a happy accident so this is our only experience of trying. It's making me a bit crazy.

I would like to join. We have been half hearted trying on and off the last few months (I say half hearted as when we got to ovulation peak we would then dtd a day or two after, this missing the ideal time). But now I’m worried I can’t get pregnant because I keep spotting before periods. I have two D.C. already w my dh so things should be working! This month I really want to try properly.

MrsH497 · 04/12/2018 20:02

Hi everyone!
Newbie here. Husband and I have just started TTC our first, friend recommended some of the ovulation apps so I’m just coming into my fertile window.
Only been trying a couple of weeks since we got married! Exciting times!
Would love a positive just before Christmas.

90mammasophie · 04/12/2018 20:46

Is everyone DTD each day during the fertile window, or every other day ? Have researched online and it seems to say every other day is better. Day 3 of fertile window now I think

Hi!

Month 12 of TTC baby #2!

Currently 3DPO. First time using OPK strips and trying to temp but my sleeping pattern is horrendous so never at the same time.

So glad you started this thread, the other December ones started as far back as October and I feel rude jumping in with so many ladies commenting out for this month.

Fingers crossed. Winter baby dust for you :)

Danniiiiii · 05/12/2018 02:36

Hi ladies!

This is month 2 TTC #1 for us! CD2 at the moment so pretty early in this cycle!

Keep wishing the days away! Have got my ovulation strips ready for this month so hopefully things will be successful!

Fingers crossed for everybody TTC!

GemmaJen · 05/12/2018 07:31

@stokieginge yes it's really easy, just apply a sticky patch and put it under my arm when I get in bed, take it off in the morning and open the app and it syncs. I can't compare temps to another thermometer as I've not temped before, but they are very consistent, I've not found any similarly consistent charts.

Boo2you · 05/12/2018 21:55

This will be my 2nd month actively trying and using OPKs - will do my 1st OPK tomorrow as will br cd14 but I usually have a 35 day cycle so will keep testing until I get a positive- last month it was CD22 - we are trying for baby #2 but last year I had to have a TFMR a week before Christmas coz the baby was too poorly- so hoping this Christmas will be better though it is unlikely I will know in time for Christmas either way!!!

Boo2you · 05/12/2018 22:03

@90mammasophie I know what you mean my first pregnancy was unexpected as we were going through the process of PGD due to a genetic condition so we had been using protection but had a healthy DD and the second one we had planned to start TTC the month after before we realised we were already pregnant! Though this baby had the genetic condition we were trying to avoid hence the TFMR!

Pastaallday · 05/12/2018 22:30

Hello I am tentatively joining as am waiting to ovulate since coming off the pill my cycle has been unsettled. Would love to start TTC properly this month! Been using OPK and temping. Also going for acupuncture and taking vitamins etc. Just need my body to catch up now!

agteacht · 05/12/2018 22:35

Glad everyone is doing okay and I guess we all need to keep looking forward. When I lost my baby last January I never thought that a year later I'd still be here trying to recreate this. Desperately hoping that this is my month... but if it's not I'll keep going of course.

So ladies today is CD24, I unfortunately have long cycles. I had a peak OPK today, last cycle I had one on CD26 so fingers crossed I have had this correct. It can be pretty confusing!

Wishing for you all xx

xlovelyvibes · 05/12/2018 22:39

Hiya. Newbie here I could do with a bit of advice too

I've always had awful irregular periods, and me and my love have started ttc I had a period 21-23rd November and ov day apparently was yesterday I had sex the day before ov day and today and today I have such weird pains in like my uterus? I think I have no idea what they are......

Mammy32 · 05/12/2018 22:40

Hello everyone! I'm 34 and ttc number 2. Been using temps and opks as this is our 10th month of trying and my periods are quite irregular. I'm dpo 4 or 5 now.
Fingers crossed everyone and good luck. Smile

KernowBee · 05/12/2018 23:38

So glad you're all joining and we're all at similar times during our cycle! I'm 3DPO.

This month I'm trying to not obsessively symptom watch.

Which means I'm going to obsessively symptom watch. EVERYTHING becomes a possible pregnancy symptom when you're trying! Although, I Had zero symptoms in my first pregnancy. Only clue was I went out for a night out and every drink I tried tasted funny and I couldn't smoke either as that also tasted off. Tested the following day and had the faintest positive!

Quite sensitive nipples Today which isn't usual, but after googling it sounds more like the hormones around ovulation. Bah!!

Baby dust to everyone here. What a fantastic Christmas present for everyone that gets their BFP this month. :)

90mammasophie · 06/12/2018 12:47

Thanks everyone.
According to my online ovulation Callander today(!) is my MOST fertile day. I am still quite new to all the Mumsnet terms and ttc words lol. I hadn't yet used any ovulation strips but bought some yesterday and tested yesterday afternoon and just now. And nothing. No line indicating anything. Completely negative. Now I'm really worried that I've messed it all up this month or just not ovulated at all!! I've had no ovulation symptoms. I'm 15 days after first period day ConfusedXmas Sad Very unlikely this will be my month. I don't know how to get better at this TTC situation

OP posts:
Mammy32 · 06/12/2018 14:25

@90mammaSophie don't worry about not knowing the terms- there are too many!!
how many days is your average cycle and when was the first day of your period this month?
