Im 8days post miscarriage bleeding starting and so far this week I've had +tive OPK every day since Monday.

I'm just trying to track so I know where I am but I'm at a bit of a loss really.

Think I'm just floating in no mans land until I have a period and can start tracking properly again!

Yukka · 24/01/2019 23:00

@laney79 I’ve always associated low or borderline low red cells with anemia. Although that doesn’t cause miscarriage it’s something to lookout for. My sis is a nurse (I’m visiting now for a few days) said check your supplements include iron, b12 and folate.

But - if the results so far are saying nothing is wrong, try and have a tiny amount of faith that your in the two-mc-only category.

Did you ever try the coq-10 for egg quality? I took that for the last two months before I got pregnant this time xx

Laney79 · 24/01/2019 23:32

Yeah the pregnacare includes all the iron/b12/folic acid supplements (see attached pic). I had my b12 and folate tested by the go and both fine but the red blood cell count seems to be consistently on the lowest edge of normal.

I've just emailed my epau nurse to ask if I should switch to folate from folic acid just in case I have the mthfr mutation.

Yep, on 200mg a day of co-enzyme q10 - hoping it makes a difference but we haven't caught this month. how much did you take?. So back on the crazy train once AF arrives properly and does her thing.

@Frillyfarmer have you had a negative test yet? I found my opks were positive until I got a negative pregnancy test-apparently the hormones are similar so the opk strips can pick up the hcg and give false positives xxx

Laney79 · 24/01/2019 23:33

And with the pic this time!

@laney79 I took the same vitamins as you and added omega 3 capsules and coq-10 I took two tablets a day but I’ll need to check dosage. I remember the research suggesting dosage was quite high to have an impact. I’ll message when I’m home next week.

The only other thing I did was the acupuncture and if I had to do just one thing again it would be that. I didn’t realise how unsymptomatic my cycles were even through ovulation until she really got it going, and hey presto the next month I was pregnant after only 3 sessions and taking her advice in between x

OP posts:
Laney79 · 25/01/2019 08:47

@Yukka Mine is two tablets for 200mg of co-q10, I get mine from Tesco! Not been taking omega 3 so I'll look at that.

I'm doing fertility reflexology but I'm petrified of needles (as well as medics in general!) so I've always stayed away from acupuncture. I've really had to psych myself up the blood tests (I used to have full on panic attacks, I can cope now but I have a whole regime I have to through with numbing gel, music, headphones, my fella there-I'm a nutter). Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it.

AF arrived with a vengeance this morning. Ugh. How's everyone else? Xxx

Yukka · 25/01/2019 09:00

@laney79 sorry at arrived, was it on time and as expected? Good sign in itself hopefully.

Acupuncture might non be for you then. They’re not really needles more like tiny pins and you don’t really feel them going in but reflexology is supposed to be effective too and my SIL suggested Reiki but I never got round to trying that.

The only other thing my acupuncturist mentioned (ex midwife) was that healthy af should be long and flowy over a number days whereas mine were always short and clotty which can be a symptom of the APS but something they treat anyway in Chinese medicine. Have you started aspirin yet, if not I would start today x

OP posts:
Laney79 · 25/01/2019 09:11

@Yukka af wise pretty much...the most consistent cycle length I've had since coming off the pill was 26 days, with a 12 day luteal phase no matter what the overall length of cycle was. This cycle was 27 days with a 13 day phase so I wonder if the co-enz q10 is helping lengthen the luteal phase a bit. Only one month so we'll see. It is at least more normal than the past two at 53 and 35 days! But that was after losing bow so suspect my body has just been freaking out.

I tried reiki once-was very relaxing but didn't help really (it was during my first loss when my body wouldn't let go). My AF is pretty clotty, more so now after the mc's. I get a couple of very heavy days usually a medium day or two then spotting really. Not on aspirin, my dr said only at BFP as it could interfere with conception/implantation? Xx

Frillyfarmer · 25/01/2019 09:23

@Laney79 yes got a negative on 18th and checked again on 23rd after 3rd day of positive OPK.

Yukka · 25/01/2019 09:24

@laney79 well obvs I can’t advise you to go against your dr but I think his point IS the point... if your uterine lining is too thick you could struggle with successful implantation even if healthy bean. My consultant said the same, after bfp - but it makes no sense. 75mg will just make your blood slightly thinner and starting on day one of cycle gives you a ‘cleaner’ uterine build up. I started after I gave last bloods for aps, about half way through October cycle and following month I was pregnant. I didn’t start the heparin until 5w 4d so I know that didn’t help implantation... I lost my first two at 5w. The only thing medically different from before was taking the aspirin ‘in readiness’ for implantation not afterwards. Surely it’s too late by then if the issue is implantation?

They say 75mg aspirin doesn’t do any harm, well, except for your gp! x

Took another cheapie test today and it's lighter than yesterday :(

Yukka · 25/01/2019 10:58

@dimblebimble the lines can be decidvung in the tests and they can detect different amounts at different times of day. Where are you up to ie days past ov and did you do a frer? My tests were always strongest later in the day rather than fmu despite what instructions say x

OP posts:
Dimblebimble · 25/01/2019 11:05

@yukka I've done them all with first morning urine. I've attached pics of yesterday and two from today ( I did a second one in case it was a faulty test)

My period is due today. I was going to do a frer on weekend but the problem is it won't tell me whether the hcg is going down or not...

Yukka · 25/01/2019 11:32

@dimblebimble on af due date those all tell me you’re pregnant. There isn’t enough of a difference there to think otherwise. It really takes 48hrs for hcg levels to change enough and the volume of water you intake can dilute your wee. Can you hold off testing again till Sunday? We’ll all hold your hand till then!! Do a frer Sunday, then two days later do a normal 25 ml test like a boots own.

Today you are definitely pregnant!! Xx

Laney79 · 25/01/2019 11:43

They are still pretty clear @Dimblebimble - could you ask your gp/epau to do bloods to check for you? I wonder if the amount you've drunk the night before might have an impact? There does come a point where my tests just didn't get any darker, not for any sinister reason, I think it was just well over the threshold level for the test.

Dimblebimble · 25/01/2019 13:23

@Yukka @Laney79 thank you for the reassurance and hand hold ladies ThanksIt's still a clear line, but after last time it worries me that it may be going in the wrong direction. I'm wondering whether to get another digital weeks indicator, rather than a frer, and see whether it's showing 2-3 weeks which it should be by now.

Dimblebimble · 25/01/2019 14:57

P.s. clear blue agreed to replace my faulty digital tests but they're not sending them to Monday 😖. If this ever happens to anyone else (both tests faulty) keep the box as they only do this if you give them a certain number off it.

lilmousey · 25/01/2019 17:37

@Yukka did you do any specific kind of acupuncture? As in, did you find someone who specialises in fertility? I'd be interested to give it a go, but not sure where to start/what to look for!

Yukka · 25/01/2019 20:12

@lilmousey I just researched local practitioners and looked at reviews etc. Then I emailed the one I liked most and we had a chat on email before agreeing a consultation. They are all taught all acupuncture points and know how to apply them. As it happens she turned out to be retired midwife and is amazing. Make sure they’re registered but it’s worth looking into x

@tinypaws I hope the blood tests bring you some reassurance and there is a course of action soon. Take care.
@InDreamland thinking of you today. Lovely idea to spend a night away together.
@Dimblebimble I think we are at the same stage. I haven’t tested and I won’t be testing because those internet cheapies are no good really (dye varies). It will cause you more anxiety interpreting it. I can understand getting the digi but again it doesn’t tell the whole picture. The anxiety is hard, isn’t it. I’m still panicking about this brown spotting but there isn’t anything I can do except wait it out. I’m seeing the GP on Wednesday so will speak to him about it.

Dimblebimble · 25/01/2019 21:18

@Mistymeow if your period is due, could it just be that? When I first started spotting with my last mc I did a lot of research I read somewhere that you can get a tiny bit of spotting when your period would have come while your body adjusts (and some people get one every month, not just the first month). I think they call it breakthrough bleeding, but I could be completely wrong. Or perhaps old implantation bleeding?

I'm quite an anxious person in general so while my plan is just to carry on as normal and not think about it until the first scan (if I get that far) I'm finding it hard. Dh says just don't think about it, and we haven't really talked about it, but when your body is experiencing cramping or other symptoms it's hard to ignore.

Dimblebimble · 25/01/2019 21:19

Think of you too @InDreamland , hope you're doing okay today Thanks

Babycakes1989 · 26/01/2019 11:29

Dimblebimble my hubby keeps saying the same to me too. I also am an anxious person anyway, and it also got worse after Mc. The last couple of days I’ve been a bit better but still get moments of panic where I google anything and everything trying to find answers and outcomes! My hb keeps telling me to stay positive and I am really trying but it’s easier said than done sometimes for the men and I don’t mean that horribly because they have Been through the heartbreak too! But we are scared because our body’s had to go through hell last time too as well as our minds! Also when your the one growing a life you can’t exactly ignore the little niggles, ever growing boobs, mood swings and the rest! I’m too scared to book my early scan I keep putting It off - must do soon!!nobody tells you conceiving and then pregnancy was this worrying and it’s even worse when you have been through what we all have ! 😶 Us women are warriers xxx

Lilimum6 · 26/01/2019 11:55

Just checking in ladies.

@Laney79 and @Yukka was the 200mg of q10 or 2x 200mg. I take pregnacare conception, Q10, omega 3, asprin, vitamin d and spartone (iron for anemia). Is there anything else I should think about

Laney79 · 26/01/2019 17:13

@Lilimum6 I take 200mg total of co-enzyme q10 so 2x100mg tablets. I take that with pregnacare preconception his n hers, 4mg folic acid and a top up of vitamin D. Considering adding zinc and omega 3 fish oil and switching from folic acid to folate.

How are you doing? Any movement? Xxx
