Thanks ladies today was really tough but lovely too. When we had a chat with the priest he asked about are journey and we told him of all the losses we have had. He said a special prayer for a brighter future and included all of our babies in the service. So needless to say I cried the whole service but I can finally let go I think, it's like something lifted xx

Yukka · 14/01/2019 09:24

Morning Ladies. Lovely to hear about your service @lilimum6, I hope it does bring you some peace and comfort, and help you prepare for the tests and trying again.

Sorry to see a few newbies here since I was last on.

So yesterday I reached 12 weeks. I have my official scan this afternoon after several at the EPU during the last 6 weeks. Last one was at 10.4 and he thought I was measuring 11w and everything was fine.

Its very strange, having never been this pregnant before I feel a bit in no man's land. Nothing to compare it to now to know if its going well. All anyone can do is tell me its going to be fine, try not to be anxious, but you can't wholly believe it. I had a dream last night that I started to miscarry just before the scan.

It will probably never get much easier. I really want to move on emotionally and I'm hoping if everything is good at the scan this afternoon then I can start to do that. Its like trying to stop yourself from falling in love. And my poor DH and family, going through the emotions too, everyone's waiting for news this evening.

Everything crossed for you @Yukka xxxx

Mistymeow · 14/01/2019 10:32

Beautiful blankets! I am half tempted to start one of my own but I think I might be rubbish :D

@lilimum6 that's lovely, glad it brought some comfort. I'm not religious but I really appreciate you thinking of us all at the service, and all the little ones that didn't make it. I hope you're ok today.
@boboelephant will definitely join you soon! I may get a part time short term contract to keep me going. I suppose I will know more when I have my first appointment at the end of the month.
@RedRobin7 gorgeous dog! That's very hard with your friend's baby shower. Could you maybe go for an hour and explain to your friend first? I have to say I think for women who have been through the trauma of a loss, a baby shower feels very isolating and brings all the grief back.
@yukka completely understandable to have the anxiety dream before the scan. I would feel the same. You want to protect yourself from more hurt. It does sound like everything is going according to plan, will be thinking of you during your scan.

We are waiting for DH's sperm analysis. Last time it was 2 million which is very low. We have a bet, I've said 5 million and he reckons 10 million. The winner gets a freddo :p

MeghanV07 · 14/01/2019 12:37

Sorry I've been rubbish lately. Have been trying to keep up with everyone's posts and keep myself updated.

I'm sorry to see new ladies here, but it's a wonderful group and so much support.

Sorry to those who are having a rough time, sending you love.

Please keep us updated @Yukka have it all crossed for you ❤️

I'm currently 10+4. Absolutely convinced I'm not going to make it to 12 weeks (scan on the 24th) or that they're going to say 'sorry no heartbeat'

Xx

wanderlustgirl · 14/01/2019 16:19

It's been ages since I've been on as still no AF so it makes trying hard.

I feel like I've hit rock bottom, managed to get to late 20s without having anyone close to me have baby yet in the 45 days since I've lost mine a close friend and close family member have told me they are in the early stages. Obviously I am happy for them but it hurts a lot.

Not sure if going to the doctor will help right now but struggling to stay positive x x

Ithinkthatsenough · 14/01/2019 19:11

Has anyone been diagnosed with Factor V Lieden?
Just been told i have this after two late miscarriages.
I’d like to know what treatment the dr’s have suggested and whether it has gone ok? x ive had two healthy pregnancies before these two recent losses so im a bit confused x

Lilimum6 · 14/01/2019 20:33

@thinkthatsenough i just looked this up because I didn't know what it was I found this.

Yukka · 14/01/2019 20:38

@ithinkthatsenough I have a related condition call Antiphosphlipid Syndrome and yours is an extension of it. I’m currently pregnant and have been on treatment since the beginning. I had 3 recurrent miscarriages prior to diagnosis. Treatment is daily heparin injections and aspirin.

Update- had my 12 week scan today and it’s all good. Baby was a wriggler, but good size etc and everything as it should be. Confirmed due date 28th July.

I’m seeing the specialist consultant on Wednesday, so will find out more there about what happens next and likely risks.

So pleased for you @Yukka xxx

Yukka · 14/01/2019 20:49

@Ithinkthatsenough sorry also it can be acquired later in life - they don't know enough about it yet, you might not have had it when you had your first two pregnancies - in fact you probably didn't as live birth without treatment is considered pretty uncommon, less than 20%.

It is treatable, and the chances increase significantly with treatment, its now like 90% success rate. Its actually the most common cause of late and recurrent miscarriage that is treatable so if you're going to get a diagnosis, its a better one to have in my opinion.

The treatment keeps the blood thin, and prevents clotting, The tiny clots block the veins that feed oxygen and nutrients to the placenta. If the placenta fails, then naturally, so does baby shortly afterwards.

Stay positive - you will have a care pathway - my care team have been amazing from the beginning.

Hi All,

I had a miscarriage in December with my first baby. I miscarried naturally on new years eve. I'm now waiting for my first AF.
I'm so excited to see you making blankets. I have knitted since a child and I'm always making blankets, usually crochet. I bought some wool for my baby blanket just before I found out babies heart wasn't beating.
I wasn't sure if I wanted to still make the blanket but I think it helped me. I spent most of the following two weeks off work and finished it in two weeks.

How do I post a picture on here?

InDreamland · 14/01/2019 21:31

Hi ladies. Not been on for around 10 days as AF arriving hit me hard with it being our last chance lost to be pregnant by the time due date of first baby. Dreading Friday next week. Finally took the plunge and contacted a private clinic for testing as after second loss in November I really need answers now. Does anyone know how long it takes for NHS to provide all test results I have had related to fertility? Do I ask my GP for them even when tests ordered through gynae clinic? The private clinic say to bring to initial consultation.

Sorry to see so many new ladies here.

@boboelephant and @RedRobin7 so lovely to see you back! Fingers crossed for you both on your new IVF/TTC journeys.

@Russkispy sorry AF turned up.

@Lilimum6 the service sounds like it was special.

@Yukka congratulations on the positive 12 weeks scan!

Lilimum6 · 14/01/2019 22:13

@Yukka that's wonderful news hun xx do you have pictures of your little one. Xx

strawberrye · 14/01/2019 22:16

@Yukka this is brilliant news, congratulations x

Ithinkthatsenough · 14/01/2019 22:24

Thank you @Yukka and @Lilimum6 for the info, nice to hear there can be a positive outcome and brilliant news about your scan, everything crossed for you xx
From what ive read i thought it was a hereditary gene mutation...i need to make a list of questions for when i have my appt!

Holding off ttc until we know what were dealing with, but happier doing that now ive had this info about the Factor V x

Laney79 · 15/01/2019 06:39

@InDreamland I just asked my gp for a copy of the results and they printed it out for me-it was mostly bloods (including lupus and one of the other aps tests) as well as a swab result. I'd start there x

Ubacorn · 15/01/2019 08:32

Hi everyone. Sorry we all find ourselves here. Going in later to have a scan to confirm what we already know and check for anything retained.
Had a terrible night but I think the worst (physically) is over. Was 10 +3 yesterday. Planning a day in front of the telly..
😔

Yukka · 15/01/2019 09:09

@Ithinkthatsenough they may have done more research into yours to confirm its genetic. For APS they 'think' there is a genetic link but they can't prove it, and think that it would just make you more likely acquire the condition or suffer from it at some point in your lifetime. You could ask about your previous pregnancies on your hospital notes, whether anything unusual was listed about the placenta - with APS they say its very dry and gritty (sorry TMI) after birth which is clue to the condition. But again, a lot of this is very new in terms of research and clinical trials etc and of course its unethical to test on pregnant women, so who knows how much will ever be known.

I have a pic, I'll see if I can upload. Thanks for all your best wishes.

Sorry to see you here @ubacorn, hope the scan confirms its completed. Rest up and look after yourself x

Thanks @Laney79, I'll give my GP a call later today, they don't like people calling in the morning when everyone trying to get on the day appointments phone up..

Sorry you're here @ubacorn. Hope your scan shows it's complete so you can start to heal Flowers

Ubacorn · 15/01/2019 10:18

Thanks ladies!

dragonmummy17 · 15/01/2019 12:19

Morning ladies. I did pop on a few weeks ago and have been lurking but not always felt able to post. Sorry to see new people here.
I was wondering what your first cycles post mc were like? I had ewcm last week but it was quite yellowy which is unusual but then I've had more over the last couple of days... a more usual colour. I don't temp and haven't used opks this month as we aren't officially trying again yet (but not preventing either!) I also have had sore itchy nipples since last week so that would usually show I ovulated then, so why has the ewcm come back? How long should it take for my cycle to get more normal again?

SerenaOverjoyed · 15/01/2019 13:27

Hi all. Sorry to read it's been a rough time for so many recently. This is such a gruelling business, 2018 was probably the worst year of my life.

Thought I'd update. I have just had my 12 week scan which went pretty well. The baby wasn't super animated but did have a little wiggle, and we're measuring at 13wks! After 4 early mcs I can't believe it.

I'm being treated with daily heparin and 150mg asprin, based one set of borderline bloods in August for low antithrombin 3 and protein s Hmm. it seems to be working but I'm not happy with my rmc, they only decided these bloods were worthy of treatment at a 9wk appointment. Thankfully I took asprin without this being prescribed or this would probably be mc #5. I'll push for a diagnosis at my nect apt. I was so shocked at needing heparin at my last one I didn't think! I hope this isn't read as being tone death. I really didn't think it would happen for me but it (fx) seems to be. Statistically the vast majority of bereaved mothers get their rainbow. Flowers🐧

Good luck to those ttc, and resilience to those who are in referral limbo.

Lilimum6 · 15/01/2019 17:19

@SerenaOverjoyed that's great news hun.

I've got another scan Sunday as this mc seems to not want to start by its self had spotting but nothing else. Really thought my body would give me a break but no it still wants to punish me 😭 so another erpc here we go again
