Over 40 ttc - winter baby dust for me!

Here's our new thread ladies.

Hi can i join im 40 miscarried on christmas day want to start trying again worried as im a bit over weight really hoping i conceive this month

We have had bad news today at our 20 week scan. The worst news. Our baby has spina bifida. So serious it has caused major brain problems already.

I have to terminate this much wanted pregnancy this weekend. I have no words to describe how we feel. My ttc journey is over.

So sorry @Kj1010 and @mellongoose. We had amnio for our first pregnancy and the wait was the most horrible thing I've been through. I don't know how I would've coped if we'd got bad news.

Oh Mellon, I am so so sorry! I'm sitting on a train crying...there's not much anyone can say but sending you the biggest virtual hug I can and lots of strength for the coming days, weeks and months. I will be thinking of you.

So, AF got me today - only 8dpo. Gutted. I thought my cycles had become quite regular since I had DS but this has come completely out of the blue, I don't know what to make of it. Weird period as well, much lighter than normal and I've been having lots of night sweats in the run-up (though bbt as it should be). Could I be premenopausal already?!

Thank you for being kind. We are numb. There have been lots of tears. I have to start the process today and it won't end until Sunday night.

In answer to somebody's question, it was news out of the blue at the 20 week scan. We were told they don't check for it sooner.

I don't know how to tell our very bright 4yo. She has been so excited. I don't know how much she can understand but she has been talking to my tummy and last week made a bag of her toys to give to the baby. I feel sick with fear and guilt about it all.
