@Delilah7 ready or not, don't forget, you're still pregnant. Your pregnancy does not depend on tests, or people's incompetence, or anything of that sort. If you're feeling fine, then everything is fine.

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 15:12

@KatBeCool it's just shit. Would of liked some good news today. Works been shit and been very stressed out x

@Delilah7 focus on the good bits, you're pregnant! Like @katbecool says, the other things don't change that.

Had my GP appointment this afternoon; need to book in for blood test for thyroid and PCOS test, they need to be between day 2 and 5 of cycle so waiting til I ovulate so I know when that should be.
Also going to try doing Slimming World to see if that approach can help kick-start things, they do a 12 week programme through the GP. I've done every diet over the years (including that a long time ago) but maybe just having to go somewhere once a week will help? Will see if I can find a group on here also doing SW...

Nice DR though, understood and does suspect coming off the pill is likely to be related to my weight as my skin has also got so terrible too. Said doing the PCOS test now will also help if we do do need a fertility referal in 6 months time as they'll know if that is an issue or not. I don't think it is given how regular my cycles are though. But least they can rule it out.

KatBeCool · 12/11/2018 15:24

@Delilah7 I know that you want reassurance, hard to blame you there, but, at the least, try to see positives in what you know - you aren't bleeding, you aren't in pain, these are good things.

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 15:25

@EltzBee it's awfully hard though when you've miscarried before. I was pregnant 2 weeks ago but am I now? I've had no confirmation apart from a test on the 1st! Sometimes it's just hard to believe.

OP posts:
Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 15:26

@KatBeCool I know that. Which is why I don't post a lot anymore as I do feel people think I'm stringing this whole thing of am I actually pregnant out, it's extremely difficult once you've miscarried to think positive. And it is in general before 12 weeks anyways.

OP posts:
EltzBee · 12/11/2018 15:36

@Delilah7 it is hard, totally get that. But for your own sanity I think you have to try and be positive, take each day as it comes. The stress of always worrying would drive anyone mad :(

purplefig · 12/11/2018 15:44

@ValidUser doesn't sound braggy at all, it's just something to be grateful for. I'm with you on the health kick front too - I've re-started the 5:2 plan and am going to do a bit of running this week. I'm technically a few pounds overweight after a rather fun summer, so keen to get back in the green.

@EltzBee At least that is progress and they are looking into it. Do you feel OK?

@Delilah7 I understand it must be hard Flowers and I highly doubt anyone thinks you're stringing anything out. I guess ultimately it's hard to advice if you haven't been through a situation yourself e.g. it's easy enough for me to say 'try and not to think about it / do meditation and mindfulness practices / keep yourself busy' etc. but ultimately that is probably meaningless advice to you as it's likely ALL you can think about. You might get some comfort from having a read through a thread like this:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3277049-Fresh-Start-thread-for-pregnancy-after-miscarriage-or-loss 'Fresh Start thread for pregnancy after miscarriage or loss'. - these ladies are all going through exactly what you are.

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 15:45

@purplefig I'm part of that so thank you :) they're nice ladies!

@EltzBee thank you x

Just gonna curl up on sofa tonight x

OP posts:
EltzBee · 12/11/2018 15:48

@purplefig yeah, it's just one of those catch-22 things where coming off the pill has made my skin back to being really bad and my weight climb! But can't fix it by going back on because we're TTC...
I'm trying to be positive that okay, somewhere is going on that is causing my body to be grumpy - even if it's 'just' the change in hormones - and that somehow that will improve and I just need to find a way to get it under control. Hope that makes sense?

purplefig · 12/11/2018 15:50

@Delilah7 ahh well that's good, hopefully they'll be able to get it in a way which people who haven't experienced a MC might not be able to. I think your plan sounds good. Like @EltzBee said, the stress of constantly worrying would drive anyone mad, so just try and be kind to yourself and do anything you can to distract yourself.

Re: TTC - would it be mad to start using OPKs as soon as AF stops on a 35 day cycle? I just have no idea when I ovulate, and don't want to risk missing it.

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 15:51

@purplefig thank you xx

OP posts:
purplefig · 12/11/2018 15:51

@EltzBee so frustrating. It might be one of those things that settles as your body gets back to normal and regulates itself again? Obviously that is of zero help to you right now - at least you're being proactive and seeing the drs about it.

EltzBee · 12/11/2018 16:44

@purplefig I use Fertility Friend and it suggests when to start testing. I started testing from Day 8 this time. Do you know when you usually ovulate? No harm in doing early if you've got the sticks and can afford them. The LH surge for me is usually short - only the day before I ovulate. Still waiting for a positive now on CD12.

Yes, being proactive. Got a voucher coming for 12 week slimming world run. Worth a try if it helps kick start things!

Need to get the mojo up to dtd later Blush

Hadaley · 12/11/2018 16:46

@purplefig - I'd actually recommend that! I have a somewhat irregular 35 day cycle and found out I ovulate way earlier than expected, around day 15. I did the advanced clearblue digital tests, and out of my 20-pack ended up using only 2, because it detected my LH surge immediately the day after I began testing.

@ValidUser - sorry about AF's arrival :(

I will get myself a glass of wine when she comes calling. My one comfort ;-)

Anyone suggestions when / if I should test? Am 13 days post LH surge now.

KatBeCool · 12/11/2018 16:50

@purplefig it is too early to start, yes. You can do one, if the test line is super light or not even there, wait at least 2-3 days, if you're feeling impatient. Average luteal phase is 13-14 days, sometimes it can be as long as 17 days. So count backwards from 35 days: 35 - 17 = 18. So CD18 would be your earliest ovulation day and OPKs can show the surge as early as 48 hours prior, so that'd be CD16. It wouldn't make sense to start testing at least until CD12-13. And depending on your cycles, you might still have up to almost a week and a half until you get a surge.

KatBeCool · 12/11/2018 16:57

@Hadaley ideally, you'd want to test after your missed AF date. Or at least at 14DPO. There are many people who get bfp at 9DPO because the egg implanted as soon as it could and their hcg was higher and some don't get it until much later because either their the egg implanted later or their initial hcg was low. If you're starting with as low as 0.8 hcg, it'll take a while for it to get to 6 where frer can detect it and even longer for other tests.

Hadaley · 12/11/2018 17:04

@KatBeCool - I have 35 day cycles, so I am not expecting AF until the 22nd, but I had my LH surge on the 1st/2nd.

2WW seems to be the 3WW for me :D

MrsR16 · 12/11/2018 19:06

@ValidUser Sorry to hear AF arrived! Next month is your month!

@Delilah7 oh sweetheart, don't feel bad about posting on here! You're absolutely allowed to worry and use us as a sounding board - this is like a weird messed up family! 😂 but as the other ladies say, look after yourself!

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 19:10

@MrsR16 I'm losing my marbles from being so self absorbed 😂😂😂😂

OP posts:
purplefig · 12/11/2018 19:12

Thanks for your advice @EltzBee, @Hadaley and @KatBeCool - I know it's preposterous but I think I'll start pretty soon after AF as I have absolutely no idea when I ovulate at the moment.

MrsR16 · 12/11/2018 19:33

@Delilah7 you're definitely not! But losing your marbles is also ok 😂 everyone does it now and then!

Delilah7 · 12/11/2018 19:37

@MrsR16 thanks for the support girl x x
