@MrsC87 well done on the dtding!
yes leafy greens are good, and good fats like in avocados, oily fish like salmon or even just any white fish is good too.

@EssJayyCee those look like they're heading in the right direction! It is good to see when they start to get darker.

Hi Girls, kept a low profile lately but just wanted to share that I got my BFP this morning. I can’t believe I’m writing that and can’t actually get over it. I’ve been having pains this week as period was due today and then randomly last night I found a opk stick and it was positive. Ran to Sainsburys this morning and got a pregnant 2-3 weeks! This was the first month that I had used opk and I shelled out for the clear blue one and so pleased I did as it predicted ovulation four days earlier than the clue app that I’ve been using every other month! Ahh shocked but over the moon

Delilah7 · 19/10/2018 12:48

@ProseccoBee congratulations lovely ❤️

@ProseccoBee I considered getting the clearblue this month but just decided to trust my body... which is showing I'm ovulating later than expected! So pleased for you xx

Congratulations @ProseccoBee fab news!!
May ask what cycle you were on?
Really pleased for you 💕

Thanks girls for the food tips!
Although I want to eat better, I'm having a Chinese tonight. Can't be arsed to cook with this cold 🤧

KatBeCool · 19/10/2018 13:20

@ProseccoBee congratulations!

@FlapJackered you should ovulate soon, it can take up to 48 hours after positive OPK. I'm the opposite. Now 2 days late, temps are still up, and bfn. I have zero symptoms of anything. And haven't had any of my normal post-ovulation symptoms. Not liking this and getting worried something is wrong.

@Delilah7 I'm hoping your dad's scans are ok.

Delilah7 · 19/10/2018 13:21

@KatBeCool me too. 😔

@MrsC87 seeds, nuts, leafy green veg and broccoli/cauliflower, healthy fats, and anything with protein are what my nutritionist reccomended. Cutting down to very little dairy, eating lots of protein and veg and general weight loss seem to have helped my cycles regulate. As others have said, sweet potatoes are often reccomended as well. I didn't know they helped male fertiity too, I'll make DH have some! Grin

Something I've tried this month is pineapple core for 5 days after ovulation, and trying to eat warming foods with ginger, chilli, cinnamon etc. throughout TWW but obviously don't know if thats helped yet!

Congrats @ProseccoBee! I used the clearblue opks this month too, never had much luck with the cheapies so thought I may not be ovulating, but got two days of high fertility then peak!

This thread moves fast, which is great, but I'll have to remember to check it more often! Grin

EltzBee · 19/10/2018 16:00

@ProseccoBee congratulations!

@MrsC87 nothing wrong with a cheeky chinese takeaway every now and again! If it means you can relax and rest rather than stress or have to cook when you're knackered, then it's just what your body needs as well.

stormtrooperjulian · 19/10/2018 16:33

Congrats @ProseccoBee and welcome to the newbies!

I’m around 2/3dpo today and horribly hungover, feeling very sorry for myself 😂

Charm23 · 19/10/2018 16:50

@EltzBee Oooh that's interesting, maybe I'll stock up on cheapie OPKs and perservere in testing for a good couple of weeks to see what I can see. Good luck with your temping - I was doing so well for about a week and then I'd keep forgetting to and ruined it. Wouldn't it be great if there was an obvious sign for everyone when they ovulated so there was no pissing around with OPKs, temping and CM!

@MrsM2017 So how much time did it take for the sperm analysis date to come through? I hadn't thought about the fact you'll have to wait for an appointment! I'll wait until Christmas is out of the way and then I will make an appointment with my GP.

@MrsC87 Oh dear! I think I'd get a bit annoyed if she was saying it weekly but we only see MIL/FIL once every month or so because they live hours away. As expected she mentioned having children today at lunch, asking "Why wait until you're 30, why not now!?" and "Just think about when you've got your little baby in your arms feeding him the last bottle of the day before he goes to sleep" and I'm sat there thinking.... Yup I'm thinking of plenty of that sort of thing, you just don't know it. I can't wait to be able to tell her when we're pregnant way sooner than she expects. Will definitely need to get her and other peoples reactions on camera.

@EssJayyCee Congrats on the nearly pos OPK! That's great news.

@ProseccoBee Congrats on your BFP, I bet you're still in shock. Flowers

EltzBee · 19/10/2018 17:01

@Charm23 I got a load off of Amazon, make sure to read the recent reviews first.

I think this lot was 60 OPK (the ones you dip in) for £9 delivered on Prime. They do the job and it helps to take the guessing away for me!!!

Oh I know my FF app gets grumpy at me too because some days I wake up earlier than others. I always do the temp right after I wake so I think it should still be reasonable!

ProseccoBee · 19/10/2018 18:15

Thanks everyone! Still in shock and think it’s a big dream I’m going to wake up from!

@MrsC87 we started ttc properly in June so This was our fourth cycle

ValidUser · 19/10/2018 19:02

@ProseccoBee thrilled for you! ❤️

FlapJackered · 19/10/2018 19:54

Amazing news @ProseccoBee !!! So happy for you!!! 🎉🥂🎉

@KatBeCool that must be frustrating. Are you sure about when you ovulated?
Temp has still not gone up but I am just not sure I can face Dtd again tonight, I am so tired 😩

MrsM2017 · 19/10/2018 21:19

@Charm23 it was a couple of weeks I think ton come through and the appt is for 14th November so another couple of weeks away too.

Congratulations @ProseccoBee 👶💕

SenoraSurf · 19/10/2018 21:47

@ProseccoBee congrats!!!

CM question- what's supposed to happen to it after ewcm?

Charm23 · 19/10/2018 22:43

@EltzBee I'll have a look and order some if needed next cycle but for now I'll remain optimistic :D How many OPKs do you take per day? What time of day do you take them? Maybe I was doing it wrong before - I was using FMU and taking one per day until I saw a VVFL then started taking another in the afternoon too but I swear I read somewhere on MN about ladies using like 4 a day!?

I'm on CD17 now and we have been DTD every day since CD10. I'm paranoid we'll miss ovulation so I keep telling DH we can't miss a day! Because I don't know when I ovulate I've been using the Ovia app to tell me when my fertile week is (15-20th) but the MN ovulation calculator tells me differently (13-17th). They're just guessing so I'm paranoid they're both wrong. What if we've been having sex at the wrong time for all these cycles?? Is it possible to ovulate after the 20th/CD18?

Do you ladies find that you ovulate 2 weeks prior to AF or is it different every month?

sunshine1987 · 19/10/2018 23:01

@charm23 the days between ovulation and your period (lutheal phase), should remain the same each cycle. The latest I’ve ovulated is day 19, earliest 15 but the days between that and my period are constant at 11. I wouldn’t rely on apps as you could be timing it wrong, like I would be as without any other data input they assume day 14 ovulation x

Charm23 · 19/10/2018 23:13

@sunshine1987 Ah okay thanks for that. I'll give OPKs another go if necessary next cycle then as that seems the best way. Fingers crossed they won't be needed ;)

Crossfitgirl · 20/10/2018 04:34

Congratulations @proseccobee!
So pleased for you 😘

I'm currently in a hotel room in London with a snotty nose and a snoring room mate, wide awake 😣😫

@charm23 that's good going every day! Missing a day, even the day of ovulation, isn't going to be a problem as sperm can live up to about 5 days inside you! And your OH needs time in between for the sperm to regenerate, my doc told me quality over quantity and every other day can be better. Even SMEP tells you to miss a day at least every 7, so don't panic about missing a day xx

FlapJackered · 20/10/2018 08:14

@Charm23 well done on Dtd everyday! Normally ovulation will be between 11-16days before af. So I would keep Dtd until you are 10 days before your normal af just to be sure.

@Crossfitgirl - that does not sound fun. I would throw something at your room mate. If DH snores I shove him until he stops. I am grumpy if I get woken up though! 😂

Temp rise this morning so I think I ovulated yesterday, and we didn't Dtd - just too tired and best friend was just next door. So we will have to hope that the days before did the job! 🤞🏻
Has anyone else just started the tww?
Af is due 1st November so I will test on 2nd if it hasn't arrived.

FivexFive · 20/10/2018 09:08

Hi all, happy weekend! So many new names, our gang is growing :)

@crossfitgirl, hope you got some sleep eventually?! Can't stand a snoring roommate!

@Flapjackered, I'm around the same, just a few days in front; I'm due af on or around 27th. Am pretty sure this isn't my month, but if af doesn't appear, dh and I are discussing whether to test around Halloween OR take my friends advice and hold off a few weeks/until my next af would be due. We shall see.

Xx

mrsof20118 · 20/10/2018 10:30

@FlapJackered I'm a few days ahead. Think I'll test in about 10 days xx

Charm23 · 20/10/2018 11:19

@Crossfitgirl Thanks for the info. In previous cycles we did it every other day but wanted to try something new this cycle. I know I'm just being silly/paranoid.

@FlapJackered Ooh ok so I think we'll DTD for another 3 days (just to be safe) and then I'll give poor DH a well earned break!! I've been feeling a few twinges over the last couple days so I have already O'd.
AF is also due on 1st November so we're cycle buddies :)
