Tested again this morning and a BFN again so convinced it’s a no go this month however now AF is 3days late. My cycle is normally 28-29 days and tomorrow would make it 32 which never happens!

Why is my body playing tricks on me!?

MrsM2017 · 17/10/2018 22:04

@CCW1988 sorry to hear about your bfn, our bodies do weird things to us while TTC - just remember you're not out til AF shows though 💕 keeping fingers crossed for you

FlapJackered · 17/10/2018 22:34

Wahh! Just got my static smiley!! SO relieved as I was really worried it was going to go on and on with that flashing beast again!
We Dtd this morning and going to Dtd tomorrow morning too, then I won't see DH until Friday evening at a friend's house so will try and Dtd quietly there too if we can. Then all bases are covered.
It is sad how ridiculously happy that static smiley makes me, no idea the level of euphoria I am going to have when I actually get a bfp!

@sunshine1987 @MrsC87 Do they actually need to do it at that point in the cycle? That seems a bit mean! Surely a little earlier won't hurt?

@CCW1988 Sorry for the bfn, but it could be you ovulated a bit later for some reason so bfp could still happen 🤞🏻

@ValidUser I did not know that about cq10! Good knowledge. I am taking it and don't mind which sex but if I had to choose I would probably say a boy first 😁

@cherrylo86 - I have found temping really useful. It takes a bit of getting used to. At the start I kept waking up and worrying about taking it on time. Now I'm much more relaxed about it and it is really interesting to see the patterns. It is useful with irregular cycles too as you can then work out when af is due which makes everything slightly less stressful. Just make sure you get a thermometer with 2 decimal places and check your thermometer when you get it by testing your temp three times back to back the temperature should be pretty much the same up to .03 variation is fine though I think! I had to send one back as it was way off!

Welshpugmomma · 17/10/2018 22:35

Evening ladies, still keeping eye on the board:) 29, ttc #1 cycle 9, had another long cycle last month 34days... No idea why the sudden change but it's bloody annoying!
So DH has been doing some googling and is cutting down his coffee intake and the amount of baths every week... don't mind that I've been telling him the same the last 6 months haha men eh! Done some research of my own and we've decided to try SMEP this month... eek not sure how well manage as I swear we don't dtd nearly enough for my liking anyway haha Blush anyway CD 10 tomorrow so every other day now YAYY!

@Crossfit your text made me laugh gonna have to try similar this month I reckon!

sunshine1987 · 17/10/2018 22:49

@flapjackered @mrsc87 yeah mr google says as long as you’re not on your period it’ll be fine whenever 👍🏻

Glad you got your static smiley, those flashing smilies are like torture! x

Charm23 · 17/10/2018 23:42

@MrsC87 Ahh holidays! It's been a little annoying having our destination choices cut down due to Zika infected areas. We're not prepared to take the risk of going anywhere with Zika as I've read it can 'stay in your system' for 6 months after. We went to Bulgaria at the end of August and booked about 9 days prior so we'll be doing the same and booking last minute. I'd absolutely hate to book something and then have to lose money and cancel so I feel it's the best way. We went on a Med cruise back in May and it was crap weather and rough seas, hopefully you have better luck!

@Lougg Aww that's really great news! I've had several people announce pregnancies recently and it's so hard to be pleased for them sometimes.

@EltzBee My DH is a bit sex mad and has never been known to turn down sex haha Which is just as well as I don't know when I ovulate so we just DTD a lot. I agree with you that the birth date doesn't matter but prior to TTC I was adamant not to have a summer baby, not I just want any baby, any gender, any time (but sooner the better! ;) )

@FlapJackered Oooo we're also thinking of going to Japan! What area are you going to or are you going to explore different places?

@Delilah7 You're just like me, I always look up what my due date would be! At least they'll enjoy their birthday in the summer holidays and not have to sit through classes!

@Crossfitgirl Woo! Go girl! Now tell him you need to try the living room, bathroom, garage... lol

@cherrylo86 Welcome!

@ValidUser Sorry about AF, good luck for next cycle!

@CCW1988 Very strange! My average is 29 days, but can be anywhere from 27-31 and then every now and then I get the rare 34 dayer or something. Very odd! But good luck, I hope that this is your month!

KatBeCool · 17/10/2018 23:49

@FlapJackered yay for static smiley, and you were so worried. All for nothing!

@ValidUser sorry for AF :(

cupcakesandglitter · 18/10/2018 01:02

Checking in - can't believe it's thread six already!

Delilah7 · 18/10/2018 07:28

@FlapJackered yay!!!! Go girl. Enjoy this time 😈
@Charm23 can't help it 😂😂😂 wish I could just let go of that crap Hahahaha. Xx

Well guess what. No OPK but I had a massive amount of EWCM this morning. We didn't DTD last night as I got back late from a friends dinner. So maybe tonight tomorrow and the next day? What do you think??

OP posts:
FivexFive · 18/10/2018 08:30

Hi all, just checking in. Not much happening here, although we are also in the Holiday dilemma! Feeling a bit bitwixed and between... I think we'll look online for destination ideas and deals, then decide from there. Dh suggested New Orleans, which would be beyond awesome but very expensive... it is nice to think about something other than ttc, even though it's obviously still something to take into consideration.

Crossfitgirl · 18/10/2018 10:08

Hey ladies. So got my blood results, and it's a slightly raised FSH level.
Apparently it's borderline normal, but she has referred us to the fertility clinic anyway as she said she would rather refer me sooner than later.
Surprisingly, I'm not too worried, and I'm hoping I get pregnant before we need any help, at least now that we are DTD more often.

DH has to organise a sperm analysis and i guess we go from there, there's about a 2 month wait for the clinic so I may try book something for after Christmas.

I'm almost a bit relieved, as if that really is the problem, then it's treatable. Was speculating all sorts!!

Delilah7 · 18/10/2018 10:34

@Crossfitgirl glad you've got some answers hun xxx

MrsM2017 · 18/10/2018 10:45

Yay @FlapJackered!great news! That static smiley was elusive for me sometimes too!

Your doc seems nice @Crossfitgirl and it's good to have some answers 🙂

That's funny @Welshpugmomma my hubby has decided to cut his caffeine now and start taking some supplements (like I suggested a good few months ago lol), funny how they can seem to take s bit longer to come round to our ideas?!

ratherbeshowjumping · 18/10/2018 10:53

Hi ladies can I join please?

I'm 25, ttc cycle #3 but we didn't try last month so officially on 2.

CD 21, 27 day cycle xx

DuchessCatherine · 18/10/2018 10:55

Hi everyone, may I join in? I have been lurking for a while but wanted to join to have someone to talk to as don't really want to talk about it with anyone else other than OH at the moment.

I'm 31, came off the pill in July with the intention to "not not try", with this month being the first where I used OPKs. Had a static smiley face
using Clear Blue OPK on the 8th October having DTD the day before and the day the after.

Have started tracking my cycle using flo which is predicting AF on the 24th. I know it's too early, but did a cheapie test this morning which was a BFN. I feel like everyone I know is pregnant at the moment (6 announcements within the last week!!!) and I actually cried seeing a pregnant woman this morning. I feel like i'm being completely irrational and know I haven't been trying for long but feel a bit downtrodden today.

sunshine1987 · 18/10/2018 10:58

@crossfitgirl glad you got some answers. Sometimes just doing something makes you subconsciously relax and it all falls into place on its own x

Delilah7 · 18/10/2018 11:14

@ratherbeshowjumping @DuchessCatherine welcome ladies xxx

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 18/10/2018 11:55

@Crossfitgirl so good to see your test results weren't anything to be worried about and easily fixable, if needed.

@Delilah7 how long do you usually have ewcm? They say not to have sex every day for longer than seven days in a row. So if it's usually a while, maybe aim for every other day since you're not using OPK?

@DuchessCatherine welcome!

Delilah7 · 18/10/2018 11:57

@KatBeCool a few days before or around ovulation as far as I'm aware! X

OP posts:
KatBeCool · 18/10/2018 11:59

@ratherbeshowjumping also welcome, missed your name somehow.

@MrsM2017 at least yours is doing something.. Mine, since the good semen analysis results, is under the impression that he doesn't have to do anything.

KatBeCool · 18/10/2018 12:02

@Delilah7 I know logically every other day is better, but, personally, I'd be so paranoid that I'd miss it, and do it every day. They made opks for people like me. My ewcm can easily last longer than seven days.

MrsNK · 18/10/2018 12:34

Hi ladies, hope everyone is well 🤗 haven’t posted in a while but I’m on CD14 and despite lots of EWCM still no positive OPK despite testing twice daily (using the cheap sticks). Getting a bit obsessive!

We are attempting the SMEP this month, so just keeping my fingers crossed that I either missed my surge somehow or I’ll be ovulating any day now!

Anyone else trying SMEP this month? DH was all up for it but we’ve already missed 2 of our days as he’s been too tired arghhh.

EltzBee · 18/10/2018 12:41

Afternoon! CD17 for me - still no definitive ovulation. Temperature is still 'spiky' - I check it each morning before I get out of bed, although the Fertility Friend app is a bit grumpy with me because some days I wake an hour or two earlier if I need to go to the office.

No positive OPK yet either; will do a check when I get home from work later but usually I see something before this time, so suspect I've missed it this month and that I'm now in the joy of the two week wait..!

MrsM2017 · 18/10/2018 12:47

Welcome and good luck @ratherbeshowjumping and @DuchessCatherine. I totally understand how you feel @DuchessCatherine - we've been trying for 18months now and two people have had babies and another 3 got pregnant all in that time. Its not irrational at all getting upset, TTC is a very emotional time - and if it helps I think we've all felt the same at one point in this journey. I even had to turn the news off the other day as I was so jealous of Harry and Meghan's baby news! So if that's not being silly I don't know what is lol!

@KatBeCool that's awful, I think sometimes GPs don't understand fertility all that well. It's taken us a while to get this far as hubby and I are registered with different GPs and practices - so we've had to do a lot of chasing.
Will you go back to yours and push for more help/info?

We tried SMEP a couple of months ago @MrsNK, didn't work for us and poor hubby (and me to be fair!) were exhausted! 😂 But I know it's definitely worked for other people so gotta be worth a try - wishing you lots of luck and baby dust!

Delilah7 · 18/10/2018 12:49

@KatBeCool mine has been known to go on a couple of days longer but not since MC. I'll just do it a lot from today!
