Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

• Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

• Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

• Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

• Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

@Si1ver We did ICSI.. was the safest option to be honest.

@ImpatientMammy they will be calling me on Thursday morning to let me know if I need to come in or not to do a 3rd day transfer. If not.. then it will be Saturday.

I am feeling.. ok. I just have to keep reminding myself that it only takes 1 egg.. as long as we have 1 then we are okay!

Hi all. I've been avoiding MN lately as have been feeling a bit downtrodden. I officially got my PCOS diagnosis, scans have confirmed it. A week until I can see my gp to discuss options and I'm feeling very overwhelmed. I've started temping and that's going ok so far. AF finally came and went.

Hope everyone's ok? I've tried to catch up but there's so many comments..

@OrcinusOrca How do you find temping? I've just started. Hoping itlll atleast give some clarity of whether or not I am ovulating. No idea what pcos is going to mean for me really. Can't wait for some clarity from the docs.

@Owlpatrol My DH has no kids, and last week (in my defence I was on my period and very hormonal) I cried and said I know he's had the snip and not told me as he doesn't ever want to discuss baby names 😂 turns out he just doesn't want to upset me by constantly talking about it.. so you aren't alone!! Not much to report here, treated myself to some pre seed this month, what the heck eh? Only cycle day 6 so early days. I may temp but not sure this cycle

Hi. New to this thread, I can't tolerate the sugary excitement of the other threads any longer. I've been trying to conceive number 2 since January -got pregnant with an ectopic in April / May, had to have a tube removed and have had no luck since. I drive myself mad every month, it's all I can think about and I can't distract myself.
Now I'm stuck wondering if they left me with a shit tube that doesn't work and I've got secondary infertility.
I know how lucky I am as I already have one and conceived her easily, but I still yearn as much for another as I did for her. How do you cope? When do you stop hoping and let it go? Should you stop hoping? Urghaaaergh!
I feel better for just typing this. My partner isn't bothered about a second kid anyway, he's happy with one so I can't really talk to him about it. My friends don't want kids either so just don't get it.

Soooooo my period is late. I'm not getting excited - I feel very crampy and weird - but I also AM getting excited and that's hard because I know I'm going to be so upset.

I'm abroad at the moment so trying to make myself wait instead of testing!

Hey all, back at it again we've got our first IVF appointment on Monday. We had our consultancy referral appointment way back in August so glad we've finally got our date

Welcome back @FairyAnn! That's exciting! There are a few yammers at IVF stage now - hope that means we'll have a flurry of BFPs soon!

There's a cracking sunrise today (depending on where you are!) - it's lifting my spirits . Think yesterday or today is OV day for me ... so begins another 2WW, sigh. Counting down to my next fertility appt next week where hopefully will be referred for IVF.

@maddiie re temping I find it OK. Mine suggested I was always ovulating despite PCOS, but the day of my cycle varied a lot. Since I've been on metformin it's been more consistent. I didn't temp last month and have just started again, and my temps are much more consistent so far this cycle. I used to get Rocky Mountain type charts which are apparently very common with PCOS, but like I say it still suggested I was ovulating. Are you using an app? I caved and bought a years subscription on fertility friend, I got the vibe that a year wouldn't be a waste ha..!

Now I've said out loud that I'm excited it is guaranteed not to happen. Lol.

@OrcinusOrca I'm using natural cycles. Only on day 4 but hopeful it'll give me something to go off eventually. I too bought a year subscription.. hopefully we'll both of wasted our money and won't need it  so far my temps have all been between 36.22-36.39 which I think is pretty standard? Hoping my docs put me on Metformin can't take many more 90+ day cycles

@maddiie I asked my GP for metformin and she happily prescribed it, my consultant then confirmed she was happy for me to stay on it. I'm on 1500mg, I coped ok on 500mg but the increases to 1000 and 1500 were quite brutal, I was advised to up the dose on a weekly basis and my consultant said that was too fast, so I would definitely recommend doing it at a slower pace!

Hopefully we have wasted our money 

Welcome @Flappergirl86 sorry to hear about you eptopic other than that we're in a similar position my little boy was a "suprise" been trying for number 2 nearly a year now. Hope you find the yammers to be more comforting to you than the monthly buses

Well ladies I'm waking the dog and spotted a full moon it's an old wives tale that a full moon can mean fertility so what harm can it do 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ I think it's safe to say ttc is turning me crazy. Anyone want to collect special stones or burn some sage x
