Yammers thread 9!

Yammer rules:

A safe place for those of you who have been trying to conceive for 6+ months and even yams aren’t helping. Come and have a good ol’ bitch and a moan without judgement. Please read the rules before posting!

The Yam Commandments are as follows;

• Thou shalt not arrive one day and post BFP next day

• Thou shalt not give advice to others when TTC for one month only

• Thou shalt not participate in one-up-manship and realise TTC is shit for everyone in different ways

• Thou shall allow posters to be fucked off with the world and everything in it at regular points in the month

• Thou shalt not be offended by strong language

• Thou shalt not tell everyone to eat yams

• Thou shall accept being called a muppet for testing at 7dpo at 9pm at night

• Thou shalt not symptom spot during the two week wait and must be prepared for a telling off if you do so.

-Thou shalt not post pictures of positive pregnancy tests. We will be delighted to hear about it but no photos, please and thank you

To be honest @Owlpatrol I'm not a serial tester so it was unusual for me to do it. I had all the signs of FP on Saturday but just had that one gush (despite going and riding a horse after which I was sure would have encouraged it to start). Then I had FP like cramps Sun/Mon/Tues and it was still a no show. Was getting quite aggy at this point and so thought I'd POAS just in case, and low and behold there it was. Still cramping now! Hoping they are part and parcel of early pregnancy, that or I'm a ridiculously delicate flower. Eek. My last cycle was on the full dose of met and that was 27 days, was on day 29 when I tested.

Hey @Owlpatrol I got bfn today too! Think I'm about 10 dpo. I'm having a Netflix day on Sat as I've a knitting project to finish

@Chooklass @Owlpatrol I too had a BFN today! Shouldn't of let myself test again but such sore boobs and metallic taste pushed me to it. Hope you're both doing okay.

Ah sorry @maddiie - what dpo are you? Join us for a Netflix and PJs weekend! Anyone watched anything good recently? I started watching American Horror Story a few wks ago but got a bit bored of it now!

@Chooklass ive just finished van helsing.. good if you like proper vampire stuff. Ive heard american horror story is meant to be good. Its on my list to watch! (Although just noticed the new season of riverdale is back on... guilty pleasure. Haha)

I know its only 9:30 but i am shattered so taking myself up to bed.

@Fae28 I went to gp after 6 months (as I'm over 35). Next fertility appt in a couple of weeks and suspect we'll be referred for IVF.

My moan for the day: A total stranger at work asked if I was going to have any more children. Bad enough that he asked, but when I said ‘no, probably just the one’ in a bit of a fuck off twatface tone he said ‘you know, I think it’s better to have two, I think you should think about another. But whatever works for you’. Was I unreasonable to tear off his arm and beat him with it, bellowing ‘I’m barren, fucker’?

So now I’m going home to cry, and I’ve got some chocolate coins and a mini bottle of prosecco to drink later.

Should probably point out for legal reasons that I didn’t actually tear off his arm. But I wanted to.

I always like to say "Gosh, aren't you brave to say something like that? Can you imagine how awful it would be if you'd accidentally said it to someone who was struggling to conceive or had just had a miscarriage?" And then follow it up with a dead eyed Paddington Bear state.

@SparkwoodAnd21 You could rip his arm off and use it to punch him in the balls and I'd still consider that a reasonable response

We made it to Friday night Yammers! Hope you all have some lovely treats lined up for the weekend? I've decided I'm going to restart my low-sugar diet on Monday so going to eat lots of cake the next 2 days 😂. (Although, FP due on Mon, so perhaps not the best plan!)

I need talking down yammers: just 5dpo and false hope is filling my head. Sore boobs. Seriously that's it and it's enough to set me off. Please slap me. I should know better after 2 years of this shit.

Oh and @sparkwood you showed incredible restraint. He defo deserves said arm ripping.

@LexieJean We've all been there!! (I was, again, last week). I'm 12dpo and getting myself all excited about sore boobs, even though I've had this many times before and no BFP! I think I definitely symptom spot less than in the beginning but still more than is sensible!

@SparkwoodAnd21 totally insensitive but nobody would have blamed you!

@LexieJean I was testing at 9dpo! I've got bad cramps today but yes @Chooklass so glad this week's over! Got some red wine and Maltesers but only having one glass!

I get sore boobs and cramps from ovulation it's "normal" to me but not sure if I should mention it to the dr next time.

Cramps are actually pretty bad today but I know cramps can be normal in pregnancy so trying to not rule myself out yet. Fp due Tuesday !

I'm having a really lazy weekend! Going to finish a knitting project in front of the telly and do some online xmas shopping (yeah, I know - but I like getting it done early!). Will be waiting for FP and trying to stay positive
