Another new thread! This is a lovely supportive thread for anyone who has suffered the loss of a much wanted baby. Affectionately known as the penguin huddle - this is the place to survive the ups and downs of this crazy journey.

Kicking off with a roll call:

NMC at 7 weeks in July 18

Currently under a private gynaecologist and waiting for tests results. Hoping to join the TTC bus again in October.

@agteacht some of us have had missed period or much longer cycles about 3 or 4 cycles after MC. Seems to be a bit of a phenomenon. What cycle are you post MC at the moment?
If you haven't ovulated this month your body might be feeling the need to shed up not sending the right messages to get a break-through bleed started. I believe this is what happened to me C4 post MC. Felt very bloated and big-boobed and PMSy for over a week before AF finally showed. Hope she turns up soon. It's so annoying when you know it's a BFN and you just want to get on with the next cycle!

Yes @keebo, it's exactly that. The emotions with AF just seem more straightforward, as you say. It's disappointing and then you move on and have a new cycle to look forward to.

@strawberrye that's awesome!
@Boboelephant I would love the wooness of it if this is your month... a lot of good omens seem to be winging their way towards you. Although being shat on is never pleasant. haha!

@awakeatnight someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I understand it OPKs only pick up the surge which happens before you ovulate and that can be anything from a couple of hours to a few days after the surge. So I don't think the length of the actual surge matters, so long as you get one. And I don't think you always ovulate the same length of time after the surge each month. Sounds like everything is normal to me.

@Blondcat wonderfully timed holiday! Grin hopefully being back to normal life again will distract you from symptom spotting. I'm about 4 or 5 DPO too though and I'm already on the look out. Aren't we terrible! haha

@RedRobin7 Happy Bean Birthday. xxx Looks like you had lovely weather in a beautiful setting! Well done for getting through the due date and I'm so pleased you managed to enjoy your day.

InDreamland · 29/09/2018 22:49

@RedRobin7 glad that you managed to have a good day on little bean's due date.

@Russkispy sorry AF turned up. Fx for your next cycle.

@Strawberrye he's sooooooo cute! Good luck for you and @boboelephant! Gotta be your month!

@MeganV07 @loveisland @JacquelynScieszka and @Bentley88sorry you find yourself here but you've come to the right place. Everyone is so supportive.

I'm starting the TWW now.......... this will be difficult. Trying to keep busy to try take my mind off things but it's hard. I'm finding myself doing a countdown to the due date in January.

MeghanV07 · 30/09/2018 11:25

Thank you ladies ❤️

Have become a serial pee on a sticker this weekend and I keep thinking I'm seeing a line then I don't. It's driving me ISABE. If we haven't conceived this month I'd rather AF just get her sh*t together and arrive so I can see the back of this dreaded month!

But, I keep thinking (or at least trying to think) nothing worth doing is ever easy ❤️

agteacht · 30/09/2018 13:59

Thank you @KnitKitty - I'm on cycle 7 post MC but could well be just a missed cycle as you say. I think I might count it as if it is rather than continuous POAS and BFNs!! And just therefore assume it will get back to normal xx

hayleyfx · 30/09/2018 14:39

Sorry to see quite a few newcomers but everyone here is so lovely and supportive, you’re in the right place.

@strawberrye that’s lovely! @Boboelephant hope these are all signs... fingers crossed 🤞

@crazyhorseylady @hellotoyellow massive congrats. I really hope you both have very sticky beans and anyone else who has had a BFP recently (sorry if I’ve missed anyone - there were loads of pages to scroll through!)

@RedRobin7 that’s such a lovely idea. Glad you had a nice day for the due date, they are so hard. Hugs Flowers

I’m currently 3dpo and feeling surprisingly okay - I think because I told myself that we’re not properly trying this month (although we basically have haha) so I’m not thinking about it constantly. Although in a week or so time I just know I’ll be cracking out the pregnancy tests 🤦‍♀️

Boboelephant · 30/09/2018 15:49

@awakeatnight awww that's sweet love. I love it even more as the name came from a story for my DS. And he's very kind. ❤ I wouldn't worry about a couple of days difference, mine varies a little each month and the docs still call it regular. As for the surge, you prob just have a quick one and ovulate the same day as your pos opk. Totally normal. Perhaps if you're only testing in the morning you are catching the tail end of it on the opk?
@Blondcat glad you had a nice holiday. Hope it did the trick!
@RedRobin7 glad you had a nice day hun. Due dates are tough. Well done.
@KnitKitty thanks hun. I hope so. I love a bit of woo. I do feel that there are alot of good omens this month too. I hope it's not just alot of getting my hopes up to be disappointed but hope is necessary on this journey to stay sane.
@InDreamland thankyou and good luck for the tww!
@MeghanV07 put the sticks down! It's so hard after MC as everything can be out of whack. Hope the limbo is over soon for you.
@hayleyfx thanks my lovely. Fx for you too. If nothing else I'm glad your body has regulated again.

Ahh I'm so hopeful for this month ladies! I know I'm probably l setting myself up for a fall but this is the month I've fallen the past 2 years (and I'm hoping for 3rd time lucky!) and if I fall this month I'll have the same due date as my first loss 2 years ago. Also I'll prob get a bfp on my birthday! I so hope it's all some weird twist of fate!

mostimproved · 30/09/2018 18:06

@MeghanV07 sorry for your loss and try to put the tests down, although I know it’s easier said than done! The first cycle post-mc can be a bit messed up, but hope you find out either way soon, and like you say if AF comes at least you know where you stand.

@InDreamland hope the TWW goes quickly for you and fx you get your BFP before your due date.

@strawberrye @boboelephant that is such a cute story about the elephant, fx it’s lucky for you both! I used to be the least superstitious person but since TTC I have found myself believing in all kinds of things!

Congratulations @hellotoyellow @crazyhorseylady hope your beans are doing well and staying put.

So I think I might be having a chemical.. got a faint positive on FRER this morning, but I’m 10dpo and have no symptoms whatsoever. Last time round I had sore boobs and felt sick from 7dpo and just ‘knew’ I was pregnant. I am fully expecting AF to arrive in the next few days, just wish I hadn’t tested early and seen that line as I feel like it’s giving me false hope, it’s so frustrating!!

KnitKitty · 30/09/2018 18:36

@agteacht yeah, I stopped POAS the month I had a weird cycle and AF arrived not long after.

Fingers crossed for you Boboelephant. What CD are you atm?

Sorry things aren't clear for you mostimproved. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Coffeist · 30/09/2018 21:02

@inDreamland - TWW with you again I suppose. I used advanced OPKs first time this cycle, had flashing smiley yesterday and static one today. DP has been away last few days and only back this evening so not too much DTD though.

@Redrobin7 - I like how you spent your special day Flowers

I ordered some tests from medichecks (thanks whoever recommended them, apologies forgot it already), which arrived quickly. I'm aiming to post them back later this week, so let's see what that comes back with.

Melpops36 · 30/09/2018 21:59

Sorry to bother you all with this again but any charters have any ideas?
@redrobin7 glad you did something lovely
Wishing for BFP all round

TTC after pregnancy loss - thread 26 - BFPs are coming!
strawberrye · 01/10/2018 06:33

@Melpops36 looks promising with your rising temperature and the dip at 7DPO, have you tested again this morning? When is AF due?

MeghanV07 · 01/10/2018 06:46

@Melpops36 your graph looks promising. As long as your temp keeps rising and no sudden large dips it looks positive. Good luck 🤞🏼💞.

@mostimproved I'm awful 🤦🏽‍♀️ I can't help it it's driving me mad. I'm not sleeping at night because I keep having dreams I'm pregnant and then wake up to no bump and cannot sleep again. TTC is bloody tough!

@Boboelephant thank you, me too 🤞🏼. Just wish TTC was much simpler or the 2WW was in fact 2 days 😂

I looked at the feedback on the tests I bought from eBay and they've got so much negative feedback saying they've been giving false positives and no positives till after people's missed period. So I'm feeling hopeful. Have had some strong cramps this weekend followed by 'achey' boobs, but these only last a couple of minutes. I'm also constantly peeing, but don't know if it's all I'm my head? I only ever get AF symptoms when I'm actually on but I have never really tracked my periods after my DS so I can't 100% remember what it's all like. Wouldn't it be so much easier to be male? Xxx

hellotoyellow · 01/10/2018 08:29

This thread moves so fast! I'm sorry to see some new people - baby dust to you all.

@boboelephant fingers crossed it's your month! Good luck for the TWW X

@MeghanV07 this time I've had 5 negatives on those tests but two positive FRERs and a positive clearblue. So I think it's those tests. You're not out yet.

@Redrobin7 that looks lovely. It's so important to make time to be peaceful together in this madness.

@Coffeeist this sounds like a perfectly timed cycle - DTD on the night of a static smiley seems to be the best way. Fingers X.

MeghanV07 · 01/10/2018 09:51

@hellotoyellow okay that fills me with hope. I bought don't FRER's this morning so I'm going to try and hold out till Wednesday as it will It will be 4 weeks since my mc, so I'm just hoping my cycle gets back to normal ASAP if I'm not pregnant.

@RedRobin7 your trip away looked lovely 💞

Mistymeow · 01/10/2018 10:16

@RedRobin7 that's such a lovely thing to do. My due date is next month. I hope you're feeling ok.
@loveisland last two cycles I ovulated cd21 which is not normal for me (confirmed with temp rise). AF arrived 14 days later which is fine, just long! I'm hoping the length of cycle will settle back down this month. It can happen after miscarriage. As someone else said it could just be a surge before af. Sorry to hear about your ectopic.
@strawberrye what a cute little fella. I love cuddly toys, I WANT!! Surely this happy chap must be a good omen for our Bobo.
@boboelephant you seem a lot more positive now that you are having some tests. I know for me it feels like I have more control. The uncertainty is really painful whilst ttc, especially for us ladies having to deal with pregnancy loss.
@indreamland hope you're doing ok! Try and distract yourself :)

I have ditched the thermometer, just using opks now. The doctor said that we are unlikely to conceive before the end of the year and with this new treatment we are more likely to have a successful pregnancy. Makes me concerned that if we did fall pregnant now it wouldn't be viable. But I don't know that for sure, and we should keep trying. Sometimes I feel I don't have any right to still feel so sad because other women have suffered more with multiple losses and still births.

shivbo2014 · 01/10/2018 10:21

Hi all I am trying to conceive number 2 after an ectopic in June. Am currently 6dpo and cant wait to test but also terrified its a positive and another ectopic! Good Luck all!

Boboelephant · 01/10/2018 17:37

@mostimproved tentative congratulations. All pregnancies are different and lots have no early symptons.
@KnitKitty cd17 here but still no positive opk. Usually ovulate day 17-18 so hope it's not too far off!
@hellotoyellow thankyou! I have to admit I wish I retained my fertility after the EP like you have! Hope it all goes well.
@Mistymeow enjoy the time off charting. Hope it brings you less stress and great news that they are positive for your next pregnancy being successful. Please don't feel you don't have a right to your feelings. You have every right to feel sad. Also there are only a few of us on here who have the long time and struggle to get pregnant as well as the loss so don't underestimate how damn hard that it to bear!
@shivbo2014 welcome and I'm so sorry for your loss. It's very possible to get pregnant after EP and it be in the right place. Good luck.

TinyPaws · 01/10/2018 18:41

@awakeatnight Thinking about you on your due date. How are you holding up? Flowers

@Laney79 How are you doing lovely?

@Boboelephant Glad you're feeling more positive. A random thought - have you had your Vit D levels checked? That thought popped into my head as you conceived at this time of year before - when vit D stores tend to be highest.

Sorry to all of those I haven't mentioned, welcome to the newbies and congrats to the BFPs! I lost track of this thread for a few days and it moves so fast!

As for me, I have the go ahead to start long protocol IVF on day 21 of my next cycle, which should start within the next few days (although my body has been a bit weird post MC, so who knows). I really hope this round produces a healthy baby, but I have buckets of anxieties (Will I fail to produce any eggs at all? Overstimulate and get OHSS? Are all my eggs shite? Will I lose any future pregnancies due to undiagnosed autoimmune disease? etc etc)

Laney79 · 01/10/2018 20:06

Hi @TinyPaws I'm surviving. My body is doing it itself this time. Several bouts of extreme pain and heavy loss last week, then on Saturday night I think I passed my little one which shocked me and was heartbreaking. I'm still bleeding a lot, but the tests seem to be getting fainter. Hospital again on weds which I'm dreading.

Weirdly just did an opk (start of the month seemed as good a time as any) and got the strongest positive I've ever seen. I guess that must be a false one as my hcg must be too high and it's confused? Can't imagine I'm about to ovulate after only just passing Bow.

Glad you have the go ahead for the IVF - fingers crossed for a better outcome for you this time. I too have the fear of knackered eggs etc. Think it's only natural after what we've been through.

@Boboelephant fingers crossed for you. Sounds like fate should give you that BFP this month. Lovely to hear you being positive too.

@Mistymeow don't feel bad about feeling sad. We all have a right to feel sad. We've all experienced loss and heartbreak. The important thing is that we're here for one another and support each other.

Which tests did you go for @Coffeist? I'm almost certain I'm going to pay privately for the sticky blood tests and poss ovarian reserve too.

Big hugs to all xxx

Babylonlost · 01/10/2018 20:22

Hi everyone. I’ve read a few of the posts- both Happy and sad. Not practical to read the whole thread! I have a question I’m hoping someone here might be able to help with. General googling and searching hasn’t so far.

I recently had a mmc. I was 12 weeks but the baby was only 8w4d. We don’t know if we want to try again (I already have 2) but I have been checking for ovulation anyway. Day 21 and no surge. Have checked a couple of times each day. Does anyone know why I haven’t ovulated yet? If I will again. 😟 Is this common? Many thanks.

Thank you.

Coffeist · 01/10/2018 22:06

@Laney79 - hormone check and Testosterone & Oestradiol (mainly for the testosterone as the other one is included in both) - I found discount code online so thought to get both... I think I may have had the sticky blood test done after my 2nd MC - is it antiphospholipid and b2 glycoprotein I antibodies? It was the only test my GP agreed to refer (they did it at gp clinic though). Hope your body settles soon x

awakeatnight · 02/10/2018 02:25

Thank you for your message @TinyPaws ❤️ I had a bit of a cry in the morning but actually the day was not as hard as I'd feared. Started booking a holiday and managed to get a cancellation appointment for my thyroid/PCOS blood tests so overall a positive action day.

@TinyPawsSo glad to hear your journey is back on the road! I think it's only natural to be anxious and hope you have a good and kind team around you (personal and medical) to answer your questions and soothe your concerns.

@Boboelephant @KnitKitty thanks for the advice. I think I'm in an 'overthinking' things stage. Feel like 6 months down the line from mc1 my cycles should have sorted themselves out but perhaps is some PCOS or hormonal imbalance. So Good to know it's pretty normal though.

@hayleyfx Fx for your 2ww!

@mostimproved how are you?i hope af stayed away. I've never had early symptoms in three pregs including one healthy dd so I don't think lack of symptoms is necessarily a concern. 10dpo is v early days.

@Melpops36Pretty chart!

@MeghanV07 Sorry you're having a tough time. Those dreams are cruel. The vividness really gets to you doesn't it. I hope it eases up.

@Boboelephant Sending surge and strong eggy vibes to you!

@Laney79 Lots of love to you in this tough time. I'm sorry you're experiencing such pain. The hospital will be hard but hope that they are kind to you and can help. I have read that hcg can trigger opk but fingers crossed it's a sign that your body is gearing up to be ready again as soon as it can be.

@Babylonlost welcome and sorry for your loss. Miscarriage can throw your cycles out a lot. Have you had your first period since mc yet or is this you measuring post loss? I'd say if you have had af then keep testing. If not then put away the sticks for now. Watch for ewcm as that tends to be a good sign you're gearing up for an ovulation.

.... on a side note, almost regretting the name change as haven't been this awake at night for ages!! :( DD has been up and now I'm wide awake, tho thankfully not sad with it. Hope you're all snoozing soundly! Xx

strawberrye · 02/10/2018 06:49

Morning ladies. It's my due date today for loss number one. At work so haven't got anything in particular planned. I feel like over the last month or so I've taken a step backwards emotionally, and hoping this is because I was approaching due date and that I'll start to feel a bit more hopeful again soon. I think one of the things that helped me through my first loss was that I told myself I'd be pregnant again by the due date - now that I'm not it feels like another disappointment.

MeghanV07 · 02/10/2018 07:21

Morning @strawberrye will be thinking of you today ❤️. Due dates & are so hard,

Laney79 · 02/10/2018 07:23

@strawberrye thinking of you today. Mines fast approaching too. I had the same wish, to be pregnant by beans due date, but instead it looks like I'll be expecting first AF since losing my second.

I don't think it's surprising at all you've found the past few weeks tough. My counsellor says it's important not to bottle up or hide the feelings. I hope you can do something today to wrap yourself in love and comfort and let you remember your little one in whatever way you want to. Centre of the 🐧 huddle for you.
