My AF arrived yesterday so I'm off the September bus already Sad

Cycle #2
Trying for baby #2
Age 33

This month I am going to track my cycle using ovulation strips. DTD lots last month so I'm gutted but onwards and upwards!

@Nell90x I don't think that's too early, AF might come earlier than usual if you're not pregnant? I didn't use OPKs last month but AF came on CD 25, when my usual cycle is 27 - 30 days.

Nell90x · 24/09/2018 20:24

Thanks @feverbee 🙂 that's reassuring. I guess my 2ww starts a bit early this month!

veeboo · 24/09/2018 20:32

@nell90x the static smiley is the lh surge. Ovulation can happen up to 36 hours after I think so CD 12 would be perfect for a 28 day cycle

MuddyElephant · 24/09/2018 20:35

@feverbee @ImpatientMammy @Chanel05 I'm due around then too! FX for us all

MuddyElephant · 24/09/2018 20:40

@sbhf1987 glad you are surrounded by loved ones x

Chanel05 · 24/09/2018 20:43

@MuddyElephant welcome to the early October club! I’m only 1dpo and already chomping at the bit 🙈 going to go for one more bonus bd tonight!

PaintingOwls · 25/09/2018 07:53

Is anyone else going stir crazy? AF is due 6th October so we'll be trying after that. In the meantime I'm daydreaming at work and feel like time is moving R E A L L Y S L O W L Y

Peonie89 · 25/09/2018 08:36

Hey ladies! So CD 9, AF left on CD 5 so the ttc journey this month can begin Grin

Had two OPK negatives on CD 8 and CD9 - going to try these each day to establish when I do actually ovulate

Hope everyone is doing well.

Peonie89 · 25/09/2018 08:37

@PaintingOwls don't worry! I have days like that where I feel like my life is in slow motion. Unfortunately for me those feelings always last the whole day x try go get some rest if you can on your lunch break and see if that helps

PaintingOwls · 25/09/2018 10:52

@Peonie89 thanks! No chance of rest, I have 4 hours of meetings today, including 2 hours over lunch, aargh! Glad to know it's not just me though.

peaches19 · 25/09/2018 11:27

Has anyone else using the Clearblue OPKs had loads of flashing smileys? I’ve had flashing smileys since CD8 and it’s still the same now on CD 13... my cycles are usually 25-27 days so would a bit worried the OPKs have missed it!

veeboo · 25/09/2018 11:46

Hi @peaches19. I'm experiencing similar but much later in my cycle. I've had 6 different cycles between 29 and 33 days so this month started using clearblue advanced on day 9. On CD 20 I had my first flashing smiley. I've now had 4 days of flashing and no static. I'm cd23 now so looking at a cycle of 35+days and going a bit insane. I'm just continuing to use them and trying to dtd every other day. I read that if I had ovulated my estrogen would drop and I wouldn't get a flashing smiley as this is what it's detecting. I go in holiday Friday so if I don't get a static by then I will forget about it this month.

peaches19 · 25/09/2018 12:33

Hi @veeboo, sorry you are having the confusion too, it’s quite frustrating! Good to know about the flashing smiley going after ovulation. Fingers crossed for both us of this week then...

CiaoBrucester · 25/09/2018 12:53

Anyone else having a disaster month? Everything's a bit much atm I don't think I even have the energy to do the deed!

veeboo · 25/09/2018 13:22

@CiaoBrucester yes had more than one meltdown with DP this month. I go on holiday Friday and was hoping it would help pass the time but I've not even entered tww yet!

@peaches19 I will be really chuffed if I ever see a static smiley face! What has my life become?!

toomanyflatwhites · 25/09/2018 14:08

@CiaoBrucester totally! We somehow (I have no idea how!!) summoned the energy last night but DP goes away Wednesday morning and I got flashing smileys yesterday and today, so need to aim for tonight again otherwise we don't stand a chance this month...

CiaoBrucester · 25/09/2018 15:51

@veeboo I think after a while you start getting tww anxiety in anticipation! Hopefully when you're away there's lots of distractions!

@toomanyflatwhites It's so tricky isn't it? You don't want it to become a chore but the pressure of the flashing smiley is too much! It's key week for us as well but I'm too tired, cold and grouchy (poor DH) - All I want to do after work is get into my pj's, wrap up in a blanket and eat stew!

peaches19 · 25/09/2018 16:52

@veeboo I just got the static!! And feeling far too excited/hopeful that my husband is in the mood later... I’ve usually been just testing in the morning so maybe it was a lucky afternoon one?!

Hope everyone else is feeling ok... it’s hard enough having a difficult time without the pressure of TTC on top.

Trying93 · 25/09/2018 17:16

I'll join too. TTC #1 Cycle 8 I think. Going to try opk tests this month to find out when I ovulate. Just been winging it really and using the clue app which clearly isn't working 😂 good luck to everyone for October

rachyrach300 · 25/09/2018 17:30

Hey. Joining the bus!

Had a CP a few weeks ago. I THINK I have ovulated yesterday due to abdo pain, however I feel like I’ve had abdo pain on and off since my CP so might just be getting my hopes on.

I am doing my cycle from the bleeding from the CP, (I had 2 period like bleeds one and after the other so starting it from the 2nd one) so I’m guessing my ovalation is around this time due to my calculations too!

I hope I’m right. So disappointed after last month just hoping this is the month! Gunna try not to test until 1 week after missed period but not sure how good my will power is.

I’m guessing my due my period the 8th of Oct so will prob test the 15th.

Really hoping we all get our BFP! Good luck all! And if any advice re my dates etc from experience would be great

Xx

veeboo · 25/09/2018 19:11

Good news @peaches19. I've only been testing am with clearblue but using ic in the pm just in case...still no luck!

dragonmummy17 · 25/09/2018 19:16

@sbhf1987 sorry to hear that Flowers
Hello to all the new people.
I'm on 2/3dpo. Feeling confident we timed it right this month due to ewcm and also pgp type pains in my left side which I think shows a hormone change.

toomanyflatwhites · 25/09/2018 21:21

I have a question...
If your DP was going to be away when you expect to ovulate, would you carry in doing OPKs? I have had 2 days of flashing smileys, he goes away tomorrow for work and won't see him again until Saturday. Seems pointless to test while he is gone, but if I don't I feel like I won't know what happened! And it would be good to know if/when I get a peak test as could still be in with a chance from having done the deed before/after his trip - what would anyone else do?

veeboo · 25/09/2018 21:30

Hi @toomanyflatwhites my opinion would be there are merits in testing, especially if you have a consistent cycle. The length between ovulation and next af is usually the same each month so if you don't get pregnant this month it will at least give you comfort/an idea for next month. If you're using apps it will also be handy to know when you get your positive

LoveTheBear85 · 25/09/2018 22:00

The dreaded lurgy has struck in our house (DH, not me), so I am not sure of how well this month will go. I'm on CD8 so hoping the cold clears up quickly. On the plus side, I finally got round to buying some vitamins to help boost anything I am short on.
