Too early for an October bus?

loveshinealight · 03/09/2018 19:15

My AF arrived yesterday so I'm off the September bus already Sad

Cycle #2
Trying for baby #2
Age 33

This month I am going to track my cycle using ovulation strips. DTD lots last month so I'm gutted but onwards and upwards!

loveshinealight don't recall seeing any BFPs yet - October is clearly not a lucky month!

My fertility friend app switched my ovulation date from Wednesday to Friday and gave me solid crosshairs! So now I can spend the next two weeks hoping that me and DHs 2am Saturday morning DTD was enough to give us a chance.

AIDE2424 I'd go see your GP about mid-cycle spotting if I were you. It sounds strange. Sorry if I missed it but are you traking your temperature at all? Then you should be able to confirm whether you ovulated and the length of your luteal phase.

ronniemipperton · 08/10/2018 06:26

After getting sick on Friday when I thought I was due to ovulate my temperature (unsurprisingly) shot up from the usual 35.9 to 38.4, but it’s now down to 35.7 which I guess means I still haven’t ovulated (now CD20). Not sure if it’ll happen at all this month now. On the plus side I suppose it means I no longer have a fever!

Sounds like you dtd at exactly the right time KinCat :)

KinCat · 08/10/2018 06:59

I hope so ronniemipperton!

Perhaps your ovulation is delayed by being ill? Or it could be a secondary post ovulation estrogen surge? My temperature often falls back down to/below coverline at around 4dpo.

AIDE2424 · 08/10/2018 07:01

@KinCat no I don’t temp, I’m going to see this cycle out and see if I have another AF on the 20th of October when it’s due, and then go to see my GP. Try and find out why I’m having these Mid cycle bleeds xx

ReginaPhalange89 · 08/10/2018 07:15

Who's in the tww? I've just started, it's going to draaaag 🙈

KinCat · 08/10/2018 07:24

ReginaPhalange89 me!! 3dpo today. Due to test on 17 October which is DH's birthday. Hoping I can give him a nice present! And yes, it's really dragging already.

What do you do about drinking in the 2ww? It's mine, FIL's and DH's birthday over the next week or so and we're going out to celebrate on Saturday. FIL has already mentioned looking forward to sharing a bottle of prosecco, trouble is it's only me and him who'd be drinking. Not sure I feel comfortable drinking half a bottle of prosecco when (hopefully) the blastocyste should be implanting - don't want it to have a go at implanting and reject my uterus due to it being too alcoholic!

MakeAWhish · 08/10/2018 07:29

2ww here, am 2dpo due to test Monday 15th as have a short luteal phase. I wouldn't worry about the drinking at this stage, unless you're caning it.

KinCat · 08/10/2018 07:53

You're probably right, it's not like I'd be getting completely trashed.

PaintingOwls · 08/10/2018 08:12

According to my app I am 16 days DPO and AF is 3 days late, although we DTD pretty late on in my cycle, 8 DPO.

This is driving me nuts. 3 negative tests and I had a drink last night so I'm super paranoid. Gah.

KinCat · 08/10/2018 08:29

PaintingOwls was 8 days after you ovulated the only time you dtd this cycle? If so it's unlikely you'd be pregnant as the egg can only be fertilised up to 24 hours after ovulation!

Newbie21 · 08/10/2018 08:50

Hi all, I've been super quiet this month as decided I wanted to try and not think too much about TTC etc but now I'm 15DPO and no AF but feel like it's imminent. I'm not testing though. After an MMC in April and a CP last cycle, I'm waiting until I'm at least 1 week late before testing. So let's see how this week goes!

Good luck to all. Sorry if I have missed any news, I haven't caught up on the thread for a while.

TwittleBee · 08/10/2018 08:53

MakeAWhish oh that is ages till ovulation but you only have a short luteal phase too I guess, saw you are testing at 9dpo, how long is your luteal phase?

KinCat FX that is was enough! eeek!

yeah PaintingOwls as KinCat said, I hope you DTD before 8dpo too otherwise certainly no chance of seeing a BFP? Not unless your app is very wrong

Cycle Day 4 here, bleeding is slowing, might be a 26day cycle for me (if I have a shorter bleed I tend to have a shorter cycle Ive noticed)

TwittleBee · 08/10/2018 08:54

Newbie21 oh hi there! Exciting that AF hasnt showed at least! Really hope this is it for you after the MMC & CP Flowers

ronniemipperton · 08/10/2018 08:58

KinCat I’d love it to be a post-O dip but I’ve only had a couple of days of high temps and that was when I had a fever, so I don’t think I’ve ovulated. Just not sure if it’s likely to happen late or if I should write this one off as an anovulatory cycle. Will try to keep dtd though now DH is ill as well and we’re both exhausted from being at it since CD9 Grin

Newbie21 · 08/10/2018 09:09

Thanks @TwittleBee

@KinCat I don't tend to change my drinking behaviour at any time in my cycle. I don't drink excessively but like the odd glass of wine. At the point I find out I'm pregnant I then go t-total. I tried to have a very small glass of champagne at Christmas when pregnant with DS but I didn't like it - suffice to say, I got over that after DS was born thank goodness! I wouldn't encourage anyone to drink necessarily but also it's important not to have the TTC journey being all consuming as that adds to stress which definitely doesn't help.

Queenofmyownheart · 08/10/2018 09:18

Argh thought I was out this month but I dunno. Need a bit of advice. So Friday 9 days late I started spotting which isn't unusual before my period but it hasn't developed into a period. I've just been lightly spotting all weekend. Barely even enough for a pad just there when I wipe, it's light pink sometimes brown. Any chance i could still be in this month? No cramps or other AF symptoms, been peeing all the time tho. Don't know if I'm just reaching at this point or if it's just an unusual period but mine are usually immensely painful & heavy. Wishful thinking or no?

Newbie21 · 08/10/2018 09:24

@Queenofmyownheart do you know when/if you ovulated this month and how many DPOs you are?

sbhf1987 · 08/10/2018 09:28

Hey all, FINALLY got my fixed smiley this morning. Managed to DTD late late Sat night and last night, will try again tonight and tomorrow. Loads and loads of EWCM last night, more than I’ve ever had before! Then the TWW begins!

I drank at about 4dpo last cycle for my bday then didn’t drink at all, this cycle my only events I would usually drink at at 7 & 9 dpo so not sure what I’ll do this month! Prob drive and have 1 drink I think.
Does anyone else do like a 12 week count down before they even get a bfp? Ours would be a week before Xmas which would be nice x

KinCat · 08/10/2018 09:30

Newbie21 yeah you're right, no point stressing too much about it.

Queenofmyownheart assume you're still getting BFNs on tests?

Newbie21 · 08/10/2018 09:48

@sbhf1987 re the 12 week count down - I think at this time of year a lot will do it. When I was pregnant with my DS my 12 week appointment was scheduled just after Xmas so DH and I decided to pay for a private scan before so if all was well (which luckily it was) we could put scan photos in the Christmas cards to our parents as the announcement which was nice to do. So, I'm totally with you on the count down :-)

TwittleBee · 08/10/2018 09:51

Newbie21 oh my that is such a cute touch! Hope we can do that this year!

sbhf1987 you have me looking at the Xmas count down, I do currently have a table of when 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 25 weeks, 37 weeks (that was when DS was born) and 40 weeks would be for the next 10 cycles though haha! Good luck with this cycle, lots of EWCM sounds promising for sure with DTD at right time

sbhf1987 · 08/10/2018 10:28

@Newbie21 yes that’s what we were thinking. My parents and siblings know we are trying as they knew about the mc so will tell them straight away as need their support but would wait until we tell DH family and anyone else x

sbhf1987 · 08/10/2018 10:29

@TwittleBee I love a spread sheet lol a TTC one is new though, might try it just not on my work laptop 😂😂

TwittleBee · 08/10/2018 10:38

sbhf1987 yeah give it a go! It is great for planning ahead haha! Here is a copy of mine (Greyed out is Xmas Due Dates, although probably will end up TTC through them still if we arent lucky by then) and I have the 1st Feb marked out at how many weeks pregnant I will be as that is my best friends' wedding day and I am bridesmaid (dress already bought!) Green is where we are at now!

Too early for an October bus?
Chocolate89 · 08/10/2018 11:03

@sbhf1987 we are cycle buddies again! I got my solid smiley this am after 8 days of blank circles! Couldnt dtd over the weekend due to work, but dtd thurs and friday and will tonight and tomorrow! Hopefully ov tomorrow at some stage. I absolutely do the 12 week count down, and would love to announce at Christmas. My dd is 10 years old and dying for a sibling so would love to give her a surprise.

I usually only drink when i have something special on and avoid in the TWW but its my dads 60th on the 20th, will prob test that morning but if its and early neg i will have a glass or 2 of champers 😊
