Different tests have different lines. I'd try another digital in a couple of days. I was a bit obsessed with line progression and kept doing digitals til I got 3+ too. Try not to worry. Sending lots of love xx

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 17/11/2018 07:19

In the kindest possible way, I’m going to tell you to step away from the tests. In my experience they mean nothing! Like you I’ve had 4 mc in a row.

I can only give you my own experiences. I was still getting positives A MONTH after medical management for missed miscarriage, they were still fairly strong after 2 weeks.

The CB didgital went up perfectly from 1-2, 2-3, 3+, then I only found out at early 8 week scan that I had t progressed past 6 weeks.

Faint lines can be dependent on ANYTHING and WILL be different depending which time of day you are testing or how much liquid you have had, even if testing fmu.

The ONLY way to really know what is going on is to go for a scan as soon as you can. Please step away from the tests, they stress you out and don’t give you proper information. They only confirm hcg in your system.

Under ‘normal’ circinstances that’s fine, but for us that suffer rmc - it really doesn’t confirm that anything concreate will develop.

This preg I only tested once on a boots cheap one at 5 weeks, and called EPAU. It’s a stresssful, and horrid time. I know. But after doing what you currently are, I finally realised that agonising over lines is a waste of time!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 17/11/2018 07:41

That's much better advice @CurlyTwirlyTwos. Ignore mine! This is the only pregnancy I have been obsessed with line progression. Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Miami81 · 17/11/2018 07:59

Good advice @CurlyTwirlyTwos.
Lines on tests are very much reliant on time of day, quality of test and consistency of dilution of urine. So not scientific. If they were the doctors wouldn't bother with hcg blood tests.
Anyway just popped on to say that in this pregnancy I had blood tests with really good hcg numbers at 5+2 and 5+4 (or something like that) which were well above the threshold where I should have had a 3+ on the digi. But I didn't, I never got the 3+ and I am now 23+1.
@SerenaOverjoyed can you persuade your gp to do blood hcg over two days for you? I honestly found it so much more helpful. It can feel like such a long time to get to the first scan.
@CurlyTwirlyTwos and @Hopefulforourrainbow there are a good few people in first trimester on the pregnancy after loss thread, you will be in good company whenever you decide to come over.

Thanks @Miami81. I have ventured over already though was a bit nervous to do so. It still doesn't feel real!

CurlyTwirlyTwos · 17/11/2018 09:12

Ahh - thanks @Miami81!

Can you send the link? I hate this first trimester (even after 2 positive scans) it would read - I’m only 1/2 way through it at 8 weeks 😩!

I’m so worried that things will change.

Totally not TTCing anymore either.....(and keep butting in on the thread, despite me saying goodbye 😂)!

SerenaOverjoyed · 17/11/2018 10:03

Thank you so much for the support. I think I'll go to EPU on Monday and get bloods done as offered.

I'm trying to tell myself the lack of progression is down to using a 25miu/ml after a 6miu FRER and expecting a darker line on the less sensitive test.

I guess I'm struggling as I don't really 'feel' pregnant. Previously my breasts have been massively tender and that's not the case now. I feel a bit tired and (sorry) gassy/constipated, but I think that might be me reducing my caffeine intake.

hopefulforarainbow I have one digi left. I might use it on Monday to contin my fear of getting a negative hpt in EPU and looking a bit mad. I'll try not to expect or hope for progression.

CurlyTwirlyTwos you're right of course. I know objectively that my hcg could be sky-high and the pregnancy could still fail, and that stressing about lines won't change a thing. You're right about hydration too, I have been pushing myself to drink water much more in the last week.

Miami81 thanks for sharing your struggle with the 3+. You're right I need bloods, I was resisting this but I think this was because I assumed I'd have lost the pregnancy by now.

Have a great Saturday ladies. I'm going to have a pregnancy test free weekend Smile

So just an update.. yesterday had some bright pink blood only when I used the bathroom. Have not bled since but still have on and off cramps.
AF due the 20th. Could this just be her messing with me lol

SerenaOverjoyed · 17/11/2018 19:56

Rivera implantation? I've never had this personally. Do you usually start AF suddenly or with spotting?

Fingers crossed it's the start of some good news. It's so hard (for me anyway) to tell after mc.

Rivera1985 · 17/11/2018 20:17

Im sorry to hear about your mc.
I've never had this happen. I still have cramps on and off and its been 4 days. I've never had cramps this early before AF. And she always starts suddenly (heavy). I was pregnant last year but had no symptoms except for missed period unfortunately that ended in MC at 16 weeks. Been TTC since but no luck. At this point it's a waiting game. I took a test Wednesday but it came back negative. I have 1 more test but I figured I'd wait to see if AF doesnt show.

strawberrye · 21/11/2018 06:46

Hi ladies can I join you?

I'm 27, TTC #1 for 15 months. 2 early losses in January and April this year, both before 6 weeks, then went to GP last week about referral as we are getting desperate, then tested positive on Sunday. Monday did FRER which showed a faint, but present line. Tested again this morning on another FRER and the line is fainter, I'm meant to be 4+4. This is how my first loss went and I started bleeding the day the test turned negative. Feeling absolutely devastated and just waiting to start bleeding now.

Thank you @moonpeace for your reply, I can't really hold out much hope as it was the same type of test and FMU both times. I think my urine today looked more concentrated than that which I tested with on Monday. This is what happened with my first loss - progressively fainter lines then bleeding a couple of days later. With my track record I feel I don't have any hope anymore.

strawberrye · 23/11/2018 06:13

Unfortunately my suspicions were correct and the test I did this morning was negative. Absolutely gutted.

Can I ask about referral to recurrent miscarriage clinic, did you decide to be referred to your local clinic or to the nearest Tommy's centre? How did you decide between them? I am in the north east so all of the Tommy's clinics are quite a distance from us.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 23/11/2018 09:26

I'm so sorry to read this @strawberrye. Sending lots of love and hugs. There aren't any Tommy's clinics near where I stay so I just went to local clinic. Have already decided that if this pregnancy doesn't go to plan we're going to go to a private clinic in London though. It would make sense to get the basic testing through the NHS.

I'm so sorry @moonpeace it's so unfair. Sending a big hug and hoping that's it's not your worst fear xxx

Laney79 · 26/11/2018 19:49

Oh @moonpeace I really hope it's not a bad sign. Did they do anything internal at your booking appt? Could something have irritated you? X

@moonpeace really sorry to hear you had such a fright yesterday, remember bleeding in early pregnancy is very common and doesn't automatically mean something is wrong, although I can totally understand why you are freaking out. Also they don't recommend continuing to take BBT when you are pregnant because it can fluctuate. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Laney79 · 07/12/2018 20:16

How are you all? Been quiet on here.

I'm feeeling pretty rubbish. Was so hopeful after AF finally showed. Went away sun-tues (cd 10-12) and dtd a couple of times which should've been perfect timing based on my normal cycle length of 26 days ovulating around cd14...however here I am cd15, and my clearblue ovulation kit (the new connected one which is meant to show several high days as well as the peak of lh surge) is just showing low fertility. IC's also barely showing a hint of a line. So it looks like my useless carcass is continuing the theme of 2018 and screwing me over yet again.

It's so unfair.

strawberrye · 07/12/2018 21:12

@Laney79 I'm sorry to hear you're feeling rubbish and that the OPKs are getting you down. It's always disappointing when what you thought would be perfectly timed BDing is thrown out by odd ovulation. Remind me when your most recent loss was? Could this be an anovulatory cycle? They are pretty common and I'm sure I've had a them especially in the cycle following a loss. Sending hugs x

Laney79 · 08/12/2018 07:15

Thanks @strawberrye second loss was sept. Got negative test Oct 14th and didn't get AF until 23rd nov. After my first loss I had 26 day cycles with ov around cd14. Now on CD16. No sign of high fertility on clear blue, nor positive IC opks this morning either. Really starting to feel like I'm not meant to be a mom. It's just one kick in the gut after another.

How are you doing? Did you get your referal sorted? X
