BTW Floof I just read back about your BFP.. That is so fantastic! mighty congrats xx
im going to have a read thru your stats xx

Raffeylou · 16/09/2018 20:15

Hey ladies, apologies - it's been a while! Before I properly catch up with the thread (which has an extra 14 pages since I was last here!) I need to share my not-so-happy news .. So following my miscarriage at the beginning of August, I had an eight day bleed mid August and wasn't sure whether this was a period or ongoing miscarriage. Either way, I noticed EWCM at the end of August and figured I was ovulating, cue bedroom antics that day and the next Wink. Seven days later I began feeling nauseous which is EXACTLY what happened with the pregnancy the month before! Sure enough, the same symptoms as that pregnancy soon followed - dry heaving, boobs sore at the sides, weeing ALL the time, extremely wet cm, heartburn, painful trapped gas, bleeding gums and increased sense of smell. It was like going back in time six weeks, I couldn't believe I might be pregnant again - it seemed too good to be true! But the symptoms were so compelling I started taking tests when I thought I was 12 dpo. Over the course of a week, I was getting faint positives on Tesco blue dye tests but negatives on a variety of pink dye tests. This really burst my bubble, especially when I read that blue dye tests are notorious for false positives and pink dye tests are much more accurate. Part of me wondered whether the symptoms were all in my head because I wanted it so much! But the other part of me put the pink dye negatives down to the fact I was maybe testing too early, I didn't know for sure when I'd ovulated after all. I was in such a confused state, and didn't feel I could accept I was pregnant until I got a positive pink dye test. So I bought a Superdrug pink dye test on Friday and used it on Saturday, annoyingly the urine didn't move through the window so I assumed it was a duff and binned it. About an hour later I began bleeding very heavily, I was gutted but figured it was my period and that I hadn't been pregnant after all. Later that night I spotted the Superdrug test in the bin and something made me dig it out .. I wish I hadn't, two pink lines. What a kick in the teeth to finally get confirmation I was pregnant a few hours after starting to lose the baby Sad. Heartbroken that this is happening to me again, it's like a horrible recurring nightmare. After the devastation of the last miscarriage, it was wonderful to feel hope and excitement again when I started to experience pregnancy symptoms but here I am back at square one - talk about emotional rollercoaster. I'm making sure I get serial HCG tests this week so the miscarriage is on record because I understand that if you have three recorded losses in a row, you're entitled to free specialist referral? The only positive I can cling to is I conceived straight away on both occasions so I'm still fertile .. I can make them but I can't keep them ><
I hope you're all well ladies and look forward to catching up with all your news xxx

Dinah99 · 16/09/2018 20:18

I'm so sorry to hear that @Lumpy76, just totally devastating and heartbreaking. I couldn't get progesterone on nhs but I could get it privately, I think it doesn't do any harm to take it, there's a lot of evidence that you can take it in 2ww and then in 12 weeks til placenta takes over, though my gyn said no point in 2ww.
Sending love through this rubbish time xx

Lumpy76 · 16/09/2018 21:23

@Dinah99 thanks for the info! I was thinking about seeing someone privately after this...just to get some advice! I’ll ask the nhs about progesterone and see what they say but now I have the heads up I’ll follow through with the private consult. Did you see a fertility expert or a reg gyny/obs?

Chatbash72 · 16/09/2018 21:41

Ooh @Lumpy76 so sorry 😞 and @Raffeylou sending lots of hugs 💕💕

Dinah99 · 16/09/2018 21:55

@Lumpy76 I saw a consultant gynaecologist, I self referred as nhs wouldn't do any investigations after MC in March. It does come at a price but I'm glad I went. If it's just progesterone you want you can perhaps see a private gp which may be half the price.

karryk · 16/09/2018 22:11

Hugs @lumpy76 and @raffeylou FlowersSad xx

CookieWaffle · 16/09/2018 22:25

Ah lots of things going on here at the moment.

@Taxgirl1 good luck with your scan tomorrow. I hope you get some answers xx

@Lumpy76 @Raffeylou sorry you've both been having some tough times. I hope for some happy times for you both soon xx

@Floofsquidge fabulous news! Fingers crossed for sticky bean! xx

Taxgirl1 · 17/09/2018 06:58

@raffleylou and @lumpy76 I’m so sorry for your losses. I too am in a similar position. I have just had my 4th consecutive mc. My last was a mmc and my body still thinks it’s pregnant. I saw a specialist on the nhs last week but now have to wait to do any tests until my hcg levels are normal and I’ve had a period. I’m thinking about paying to see someone privately too. The last few days I’ve felt exhausted. I’m realising what a toll it’s taken on me physically and emotionally so I feel your pain. I just can’t deal with the fact that my body hasn’t caught up with the fact that I’m not pregnant anymore.

Btw, the EPU told me that you can be referred the RMU after 2 recurrent mcs if you are over 40. I guess it might depend on your area but worth asking about...

Cleozeta · 17/09/2018 10:36

Sorry for all the losses, it's so sad when these babies are so wanted. I had a mmc this year too. Unfortunately I think it is much more common as we get older.
I think nature needs to rethink the human fertility timeline to keep up with modern day. How is it that so many teenagers and young adults have unwanted pregnancies so easily when they are still ptetty much children themselves and could clearly not cope, whereas happily married secure and stable ladies at 40 struggle to conceive as nature has decided it's 'too late' for them. Makes no sense! Come on mother nature - keep up!

Floofsquidge · 17/09/2018 10:56

@Cleozeta I couldn't agree more. Reading the statistics is soul destroying.

Chatbash72 · 17/09/2018 11:00

Mother Nature is very much a cheeky lady, day 6 in cycle 2.5 days post af and cm gone bonkers.. was having r sided pain during af... not taking any chances that an early egg is popping... beware the early cycle egg... my bf had 2 babies caught on day 5 😳

Cleozeta · 17/09/2018 11:08

Wow thats early chat! Have you done an opk?

Cleozeta · 17/09/2018 11:14

My cycle has changed yet again. When it came to temping I used the know when ov day was here as I'd always get a low dip, followed by a big rise the next day. Dip day was also +opk day and 1st day of peak. For the last few cycles I've had no dip, and a very slow rise, starting on 2nd peak day. And 1st peak day is now the day after +opk. So confusing! So now, rather than ov being dame day as +opk, it's about 3 days later! I just wish my body would stick to one pattern so I can know whats going on. But at least I think I have actually ov'd. Thats a bonus.

PetraRabbit · 17/09/2018 11:15

So sorry about the bad news, Raffey and Lumpy.

Floof, that is really exciting!

In case it's helpful to anyone, I've found eating fresh grapefruit has increased my EWCM this month. Basic maybe, but hopefully useful to somebody.

Chatbash72 · 17/09/2018 11:31

@Cleozeta yup early but that does happen sometimes, nope don't do opks.. I never got the hang of peak days either

Cleozeta · 17/09/2018 11:46

Better just get dtd then chat!!

Petra - I find grapefruit juice does the same, quite handy, although tastes vile!

mellongoose · 17/09/2018 12:53

Does anyone know of any symptoms that you would get in early pregnancy but not PMS?! I've had so many false alarms over that couple of years. Always ended up being PMS.

CD34 here....still waiting. Last month was a 35 day cycle.

Floofsquidge · 17/09/2018 13:12

@mellongoose it's mother nature's sick joke but it really has been almost identical. Only noticeable difference was around the 13dpo mark my nipples were embarrassingly pointy through a thick t-shirt bra! but by that point I'd already taken an early test so was actively aware of anything different. Also my temp has stayed high and hasn't dipped since ovulation.

Dinah99 · 17/09/2018 18:20

@mellongoose metallic taste in mouth & lots of white lotiony cm, extreme hunger, dizzy/faint x

CritterTamer · 17/09/2018 21:05

@Dinah99 I had all of those after my last embryo transfer, together with masses of implantation pains but sadly had a BFN 😔

Congrats to all those with BFPs - there seem to be lots since I was last here a few days ago!

I’m just back from having my endometrial scratch - all i can say is OUCH! It hurt so much I was trying so hard not to squirm and wriggle but was sure I was failing - squeezed DHs hand so hard lol. Afterwards the doctor said you were amazing you hardly flinched at all, most people can’t bear it that well. I was so shocked - had thought I’d been such a baby lol.

mellongoose · 18/09/2018 06:53

Well done @CritterTamer. Sounds utterly horrible.

CD 35 here. If I don't see af today I will start to get my hopes up. After last month's ups and downs (and several others) I'm resigned to the fact that my cycle has lengthened. I don't know why!

I'll report back tomorrow.

weasledee · 18/09/2018 12:07

Brave critter! What does this procedure actually do?

Chatbash72 · 18/09/2018 12:57

Oh my god hormone overload.. plus tiredness... not a good combo.. ran out of usual pre nat vits, should have gotten them in Waitrose when I saw them as then had a cost dilemma when in town.. why are they so bloody expensive.. 😯 thought I would just used the folic acid I had at home because also didn't want to change brand.. ended up having a cheeky treat coffee, which turned out to be free as had enough points or stamps.. decision made back to Superdrug vits bought.. yes my brain is being odd today... 😳

mondaycando1 · 18/09/2018 14:36

Hmm, 4 days of faint opks but no fat line. Am doing then about 6 in the evening- is this completely the wrong time of the day?
