@Delilah7 I think we need to try and find something to distract you for a week lovely! Your inner SSP is going to make you a wreck if we don't! Any projects at home that you could throw yourself into? I started clearing out the kitchen cupboards and vetting my cookbooks at the weekend to try and focus my mind away from SSP (with limited success, admittedly 🙄). Last cycle I went through my wardrobe and flung a load of stuff in the charity bag... the glamorous possibilities to distract yourself are endless! 😂x

Delilah7 · 22/08/2018 12:49

@BambiOnIce80 it's driving me INSANE. especially this cycle not knowing when period should come x

Good evening ladies 🙂 I have a bit of a 'to test early or not/to drink or not' quandary going on that I'd appreciate your thoughts on, please?

I'm going out with my friends on Friday night and I was intending on not drinking because AF isn't due until somewhere between Saturday and Monday and I hate testing early (for reasons recently discussed). However, it won't get past my friends if I don't drink and I've just had word from home that there's family drama kicking off so a couple of G&T's are looking more and more tempting as the week is going on. Queue the quandary; do I test early and potentially get a false BFN and then do untold damage to a mini person or do I not test and not drink and have to lie to my friends about why I'm not drinking (and they won't buy any excuse I come up with anyway 🙄). Thought about cancelling and avoiding the situation altogether, but one of my friends is emigrating and it's the last time we'll be able to all get together...

Can I get away with a potentially false BFN and a couple of G&T's and not spend the next 9 months freaking out that I've totally 🤬 up? Please discuss!! DP thinks a couple of G&T's will be fine and I'm just being 🦇💩🤪 even giving it a second thought 🙄 To add context - two G&T's are less than a unit of alcohol (0.9 to be precise), which is under the drink drive limit...

@BambiOnIce80 hi honey. I don't normally drink but I'm having some gin and lemonade on Sunday due to friend coming over. I understand you'll feel bad if you find out your pregnant but is it really going to do that much harm when babies have gone through much worse and came out fine? I understand everyone's opinions that's just mine. ❤️

@BambiOnIce80 if maybe suggest testing first. If it is a BFP you know that you're not going to want to drink so you can at least feel a little bit better about drinking if you get a BFN. Even if it does turn out to be false later down the line. I'm sure a couple won't hurt! My sister actually did just that, took a test before AF was due got a BFN, so got drunk to later find that she was actually pregnant but it was too early! Her little girl is due in around 6 weeks all healthy. So I wouldn't worry about having a couple if I were you :)

BambiOnIce80 · 22/08/2018 20:36

Thank you @purplestar9 and @Delilah7 💖 DP was saying exactly the same thing, but I really wanted female opinions 😂 Still don't like thd idea of having my hopes dashed up to 3 days before AF may turn up though 😏 I guess I've still got 24 hours to figure out what to do...

BabySquid · 22/08/2018 20:44

@BambiOnIce80 I'd have a couple. My friend tested the day after we went out for a few, and she's doing absolutely fine with her pregnancy. Maybe drink something else though... gin did used to be called 'mothers ruin' for a reason :(

ValidUser · 22/08/2018 20:48

@BambiOnIce80 tell them you're on flagyl for an infection.

ValidUser · 22/08/2018 20:48

(I mean you can use it as an excuse if desired. Totally up to you whether you drink or not.)

BambiOnIce80 · 22/08/2018 21:19

Good to know @ValidUser 👍 Is that broad spectrum or is it used for specific infections (just so I know what I'm supposed to have an infection of! 😂)?

@BabySquid, I think I'd stick to gin because I know it's really low units compared to a large glass of wine (3 units). I think mothers ruin comes from when they used to drink nothing but gin in the 1700's and it all goes a bit wrong when you literally drink nothing but gin 🍸😂

ValidUser · 22/08/2018 22:06

@BambiOnIce80 bacterial vaginitis is probably the easiest thing to claim. 😂

ValidUser · 22/08/2018 22:06

Vaginosis. Damn autocorrect!

ValidUser · 22/08/2018 22:10

Still gently spotting, but barely. AF is coming up to 3 days late. Negative tests.

Hypothetically, I could have started implanting at 10 dpo (when spotting started) and it could be a few days after until a positive showed. The implantation would have stopped my period. Bean and I could have slow rising HCG.

I know I'm clutching at straws, but I'm never late!

BambiOnIce80 · 22/08/2018 22:21

Sounds entirely plausible to me @ValidUser 🙂 Something I read said most FRER's are reliable after 14dpo and hit and miss before. Maybe wait until the weekend and then test again?

ValidUser · 22/08/2018 22:30

Bambi, the reality here is I'll test every day until AF shows. Rational? No. Realistic? Yep! 😂

BambiOnIce80 · 22/08/2018 22:43

I've come to realise that rational has no place in the TTC journey @ValidUser, so test away! 😂

RanchoRelaxo · 23/08/2018 08:13

Rational definitely has no place in TTC, I got up to wee 2 times the other night? Defo preggers. The cat has shown an interest in napping on my belly? Totally up the duff. I am only 6dpo though? No don't be silly the symptoms outweigh any logic 😂😂 help me

BambiOnIce80 · 23/08/2018 08:43

You're definitely preaching to the choir @RanchoRelaxo 😂 Think I am going to do a FRER tomorrow morning, just to put myself out of my misery! I'll be 12dpo and AF definitely feels like it's just around the corner... I'd probably be just as well peeing on a £5 note and chucking it in the bin, but at least I can hit the gin guilt free and start putting the disappointment of this cycle behind me 💷🔥🙄

RanchoRelaxo · 23/08/2018 09:49

Would hate to think of how many £5s worth of sticks I've peed on Bambi good luck, hoping it's good news!

ValidUser · 23/08/2018 10:50

Still no AF and no positive test. Thinking supplement has just lengthened my luteal phase. Still only 13 dpo (possibly even 12 because of lots of positive OPKs).

Possibly bodes well for next month?

BambiOnIce80 · 23/08/2018 11:04

Absolutely @ValidUser 👍 The longer the luteal phase, the bigger the window for something to hit the target 🎯

RanchoRelaxo · 23/08/2018 13:09

Can I ask ValidUser what supplements have you used this month?

ValidUser · 23/08/2018 13:11

Used pregnacare conception.

I've heard that they can mess up cycles, but other than late AF it's all been fine!

They contain B6.

BambiOnIce80 · 23/08/2018 13:15

How's @Delilah7 today? Are you feeling any better now lovely?
